Two Top AEW Stars Will Be Sticking Around For A Bit

November 26, 2021 • Admin

Stick around for a bit. There are all kinds of talented wrestlers in AEW and several of them have received very prominent roles. While there are so many impressive wrestlers in the company, a handful of them are bigger stars than others. The promotion has been built around a core group of stars, and now some of those names have extended their time in AEW. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the Young Bucks have signed new AEW contracts which will keep them with the company at least through 2026. The Bucks are two of the founders of AEW and both hold the title of Executive Vice President. They are also former AEW World Tag Team Champions and hold the record for longest reign with the titles, though they are currently out of action with injuries. The Bucks are a special team. WATCH: The Rock Makes A Fan’s Day (In A Huge Way)

November 26, 2021 • Admin

I think that warrants a thank you. One of the coolest things to see in wrestling is a star giving something back to the fans. You don’t get to see it very often, but it is certainly something that takes place, even if that might be behind the scenes. Now it has happened again, but in this case it is something rather personal due to being inspired by a personal story. The Rock has posted a new video to his Instagram showing him giving his own truck to a fan. Rock’s original plan had been to give the fan the same version of the Porsche Taycan that he drives in his new movie Red Notice. When Porsche said no, Rock decided to give him his own truck as a gift. The video includes the fan’s reaction, as well as Rock meeting a group of fans at a showing of Red Notice. This is pretty awesome. LOOK: Former WWE Star Sports Striking New Look

November 26, 2021 • Admin

It’s a new way to go. The look is one of the most important parts of a wrestler’s presentation. There has to be something about a wrestler which makes you pay attention and keep you around, which can go in a bunch of different ways. A lot of the top wrestlers today have something notable to them, but now one of them has changed their look in a bit way. Recently released WWE star Keith Lee has posted a new photo of himself with mostly white hair. Lee said that his hair has been turning white since he was sixteen years old and that he likes it this way. Lee was released from his WWE contract in November and his no compete clause has yet to expire. There is no word on where he plans to sign and wrestle next. Here's a fun fact about me. I started getting white hair at 16 years of age! Personally, I like it. I wish it was all white. Unfortunately, many don't understand science, and *only* associate it with age haha. Happy Thanksgiving humans. Be thankful for the things you hav..

WWE Losing Another Major Television Deal

November 25, 2021 • Admin

That’s another loss. WWE has changed quite a bit in recent years and some of those changes have been rather prominent. It is quite the jarring set of changes to see how far things have gone and a lot of those changes have not been for the better. Above all else, fewer people seem to be watching the show these days, and now even fewer will be able to do so. According to 411mania.com, J Sports, a Japanese television network, has announced that they will no longer be airing Monday Night Raw and SmackDown, with the shows ending on January 31, 2022. The WWE Pack, the network’s on demand service, will be discontinued as well. WWE and J Sports have had a business relationship for nineteen years, with a three year extension being signed in 2019. WWE has a history in Japan. Check out some of their time there: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I’m not sure why J Sports is moving on from ..

SmackDown Star Has Some Great News To Share

November 25, 2021 • Admin

Good for them! Wrestlers are people who get to be out in front of a camera and live fans, which is not something that you get to see very often. At the same time though, those same people have very different lives when the cameras are turned off. Some of those moments are very important and positive, and that is the case again with a current WWE star. SmackDown’s Mustafa Ali has announced that he and his wife are welcoming a third child, a daughter named Dua, who was born earlier this week. Ali said that the name comes from how much they prayed for her, as Dua is the Arabic word for blessing. Ali currently wrestles on SmackDown and most recently competed on the October 29 SmackDown, losing to Drew McIntyre. we named her Dua because we prayed really hard for her. pic.twitter.com/tHxpow8z4D — Mustafa Ali / Adeel Alam (@AliWWE) November 25, 2021 Ali is a heck of a star in the ring too. You Might Not Be Seeing Jim Ross On AEW TV For A Little While

November 25, 2021 • Admin

It’s a fair reason. Commentary is one of the most important things about any given wrestling show as they tell the fans what they are supposed to see. They are basically the tour guides of a wrestling show and it can be very important to hear what they have to say. Now though, we might not be hearing from the most famous commentator in wrestling history for a bit. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW’s Jim Ross will begin twenty two straight days of radiation therapy on Monday to treat his skin cancer. As a result, Ross could be missing a few weeks of AEW television, which would include three episodes of AEW Dynamite. Ross has not announced that he will be missing any shows. There is no word on who would replace Ross if he is unable to work the shows. Ross has been a big deal in AEW. Run It Back: AEW Planning Huge Title Rematch

November 25, 2021 • Admin

That’s a good place to start. Women’s wrestling has come a very long way in the last few years and thankfully that seems to be continuing in more than a few places. Several women have emerged as the stars of the new generation and there is nothing to suggest that it will be changing anytime soon. Now we might even know an upcoming major match on the horizon. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW may be planning a major Britt Baker vs. Thunder Rosa Women’s Title match for early next year. There is a chance that it will take place during the Revolution pay per view in March, though a specific date has yet to be announced. Rosa defeated Baker earlier this year in an unsanctioned match before Baker won the title. This should be awesome. Check out what we might be seeing again: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This isn’t exactly a huge surprise and there is not..

REVIEW: Starrcade 2019: The Tradition Continues

November 25, 2021 • Admin

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Starrcade 2019 Date: December 1, 2019 Location: Infinite Energy Arena, Duluth, Georgia Commentators: Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton I mean, it has been a whole week since their last big event. This is another one of those house shows that is airing on the Network in a shortened form. It isn’t exactly something interesting though last year’s show was pretty good. The two matches announced aren’t exactly breaking new ground but they could be good. Let’s get to it. The announcers talk about the history of Starrcade and ..

VIDEO: Major Tease Takes Place After AEW Dynamite

November 25, 2021 • Admin

Stop teasing us. The AEW roster is one of the most well rounded in all of wrestling today. You have legends, current stars and young up and comers, all mixed together to create a heck of a lineup. There are some names on there who are just flat out bigger stars than others though, and one of them was teasing quite the change after this week’s edition of Dynamite. The main event of this week’s Dynamite saw Cody Rhodes/Death Triangle lose an eight man tag to Andrade El Idolo/FTR/Malakai Black. One of the stories of the match was the fans not liking Rhodes, despite him being on the good side. Fans booed him throughout the match and cheered when he was in trouble. In a new video posted to Twitter, Rhodes teased going through the villains’ tunnel after the show went off the air before eventually going through the good side. This comes as Rhodes has been refusing to turn to the bad side. It was a surprising moment. Check out the tease, plus what Rhodes has been doing as of late: [This pos..

Top NXT Star Signs Extension, But It’s Not A Very Long One

November 25, 2021 • Admin

Stick around for a bit. There have been all kinds of wrestlers leaving WWE over the last few months and that might continue to be the case for a long time to come. What makes things interesting is that there have been some wrestlers who have left on their own accord, which can make for some very important decisions. Now we have another one from a wrestler in a prominent spot. According to Fightful Select, Johnny Gargano has agreed to a one week extension with WWE, meaning that he will be with the company until December 10. This will allow Gargano to wrestle in WarGames on December 5. Gargano has yet to sign a new long term deal and there is no word on where he plans to go next. He will be teaming with Tommaso Ciampa, LA Knight and Pete Dunne to face Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, Grayson Waller and Tony D’Angelo at NXT WarGames. Gargano has done well in NXT. Get Ready To Jump? Jeff Hardy Teases Hardy Brothers Reunion

November 25, 2021 • Admin

One more time? While they might not be the biggest focus in the company all of the time, there are some legendary WWE tag teams. The company has had its fair share of great ones over the years and some of them are still around today. That can make some reunions a possibility and now one famous tag wrestler is talking about having one more run with his partner. During a recent interview with TalkSport, WWE’s Jeff Hardy mentioned that he is hopeful for a Hardys reunion with his brother Matt, who is currently in AEW. Jeff said that he is not sure when or where such a reunion would take place but he is certain that it will. He called wrestling unpredictable, as wrestlers are released and contracts expire, so there will be a chance for their paths to cross again. I could see it happening too. AEW Confirms Rumors Of New Quarterly Special

November 25, 2021 • Admin

There’s the announcement. AEW has come a long way in its short history, though a lot of the things they have done involves a tribute to wrestling history. Some of these are a bit less obvious than others, though there are some where AEW flat out tells you what they are doing. That is the case again, as they are bringing back a classic show for the first time in over thirty years. This week on Dynamite, AEW officially announced their first ever Battle Of The Belts special, which will air on January 8, 2022 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Battle Of The Belts was run by the National Wrestling Alliance in the late 1980s. This show had been rumored earlier in the month but this is the first official announcement of the event. Nothing has been set for the show as of yet. Battle Of The Belts is a heck of a show. Ring Of Honor TV Results – November 17, 2021

November 25, 2021 • Admin

Ring of Honor Date: November 17, 2021 Location: 2300 Arena, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Silas Young The long march to Final Battle continues as we are still in the post-Death Before Dishonor TV tapings. In other words, these are still matches from before all of the company’s future went away, so there might still be a little something here. Then again, I’m not sure how much hope that really is. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Quinn McKay welcomes us to the show and gives us the rundown. Caprice Coleman vs. Beer City Bruiser This is Coleman’s first singles match in a long time and Bruiser has Brian Milonas and Ken Dixon with him. Before the match, Bruiser says Coleman wasn’t an official entrant in the Honor Rumble so he was never eliminated and should be #1 contender. Coleman comes to the ring and Bruiser laughs at the idea of Coleman getting back in the ring….so he can face Dixon instead. Caprice Coleman vs. Ken Dixon Dixon is in jeans and the Bounce..

AEW Dynamite Results – November 24, 2021

November 25, 2021 • Admin

Dynamite Date: November 24, 2021 Location: Wintrust Arena, Chicago, Illinois Commentators: Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur We’re back in Chicago, as AEW really likes coming here. It’s also just before the start of Thanksgiving weekend, so this is going to have a bit of a special feeling. Bryan Danielson and CM Punk are both in action this week so it certainly feels like a big show. Now just make that work. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. CM Punk comes out for his match but hold on though as here is MJF to interrupt. MJF says it doesn’t feel so good to be interrupted and calls him Punky Brewster. Fans: “SHUT THE F*** UP!” MJF: “No.” Last week was almost as bad as that time when Punk took his ball and went home. MJF brings up the Pipebomb, which was a great moment. The thing is though, every MJF moment is the best moment because he isn’t a one trick pony. MJF respects Punk for everything he does, including being straightedge, though he can’t believe that a straightedge man cou..

KB’s Review: The Egg Theory

November 25, 2021 • Admin

I don’t think I’m breaking any new ground when I say that WWE has been a bit dull as of late. By as of late, I mean over the last few years, as while there have been some bright spots, there are only a few things that can really make the show more interesting. WWE seems to have gone out of its way to make the show as uninteresting and bland as possible in a lot of ways, and that is going to cause some serious issues. However, they seem to have stumbled into something over the last few days that gave them a boost, at least in the short term. Over the weekend, WWE presented its annual Survivor Series show. As has been the case for the last few years, the show was built around a series of matches between Monday Night Raw and SmackDown for brand supremacy (which was so important that I don’t believe the winner was even mentioned on Sunday or Monday). That isn’t exactly inspiring stuff, but this show had a bonus, as Vince McMahon himself was here to save the day, albeit with the help of….C..

Say It Isn’t So: Another NXT Star Out Of Action Due To Injury

November 24, 2021 • Admin

It could be a little while. A wrestler can have all of the momentum in the world but there is always the chance that an injury could bring them down. That is never a good thing to see, but the most important question is how bad things are. Some injuries are a lot worse than others and can keep someone out of the ring for a good while. Now that seems to be the case again. This week on NXT, it was announced that Dexter Lumis would be out of action for about a month due to suffering a broken hand. Later in the night, Lumis’ wife Indi Hartwell and her friend Persia Pirotta lost a tag team match when Hartwell was distracted with thoughts of her husband’s injuries. There is no word on why Lumis is scheduled to miss time or if he has a legitimate injury. Lumis is quite the talented star. Check out what he can do when he gets back: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: You never want to he..

WWE Legend Lists His Problems With Today’s Product, Cites Changing Fans

November 24, 2021 • Admin

Can you blame him? WWE has been around for a long time now but the company is certainly undergoing some problems at the moment. There have been a lot of challenges for the company and the fans are not exactly watching as much as they used to. At the same time, the company has released all kinds of wrestlers in a short amount of time. This can make for some confusing moments, with one legend seeming to agree. WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler appeared on Busted Open Radio and spoke about the current WWE product. Lawler said that it can be hard to watch at times, as he felt like he needed to cram for an exam to know what is going on and who everyone is. He went on to say that things change so fast these days and fans have a shorter attention span. As a result, WWE has to keep things constantly moving to keep up, which can make things harder to remember. Here are some of Lawler’s comments, with transcription courtesy of Wrestlinginc.com: On Modern WWE “Sometimes it’s sort of hard for me t..

Redditors Have Listed Their Worst Wrestling Commentary Calls And They’re So Bad

November 24, 2021 • Admin

Speak to me. Commentary is such an important part of a wrestling show. The commentary team tells the fans where the stories are supposed to go while guiding them through everything that is going on. A good commentator can be such a help in wrestling, but sometimes even the best of them slip up in a pretty big way. When they screw up badly, it can be legendary. Wrestling fans have an amazing memory when it comes to commentary. A Reddit user recently asked What Are The Worst Commentary Calls Of All Time? Commentors weighed in and thousands of fans upvoted their favorite of the worst ideas from around the wrestling world. That’ll Put Some Bad Commentary On The Air IMG Credit: WWE For all of the great calls, there are some that are far more infamous for the wrong reasons. These are the lines that are not only remembered in a bad way, but often brought up as punchlines down the road. If it was something that made the commentator look like a pinhead, it can be even worse. That was the case..

There Is Another McMahon Getting Into Wrestling

November 24, 2021 • Admin

They’re the new generation. There is something so easy to understand about a second generation wrestler. The name alone is going to be enough to give them a chance, but at the same time, they are going to have a bit more of an introduction to the wrestling world. It gives them a leg up, and now we are seeing someone else who has an even bigger foot forward. In a new interview with Alex McCarthy of TalkSport, Stephanie McMahon mentioned that her oldest daughter, Aurora Rose, has already begun in-ring training at age fifteen. In addition, McMahon’s youngest daughter, eleven, is interested in getting in the ring as well, but McMahon said she is more about the personality than the in-ring aspect. There is no word on who is handling the training. There are some great second generation stars. Check out some of the better known ones: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is one of th..

WWE Makes Odd Decision On Some Of Its Content

November 24, 2021 • Admin

Lost in the shuffle? WWE has been shaken up a lot in recent months, though there are some changes that have flown a bit under the radar. One of the biggest has been the shift from the WWE Network to Peacock, which marked the end of a seven year run and started a new five year version. The content available has changed a bit, though now it seems that we might not be seeing some content for a long time. According to PWInsider.com, WWE has shelved several completed documentaries. This includes documentaries on a superfan named Vladimir, Lex Luger, Ric Flair and Money in the Bank. WWE advertised the Vladimir and Luger documentaries, with the former being mentioned as recently as September 11. There is no word on why WWE has chosen not to release them and nothing to suggest they will be released in the future. They’re interesting subjects. Check out some of what you won’t be seeing: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contain..
