VIDEO: Triple H Back At Work After Cardiac Event

November 19, 2021 • Admin

Welcome back? There are a lot of people who make decisions in WWE but some of them are a lot more well known than others. A change in WWE’s higher up management can mean a lot for the company and that was the case, at least temporarily, earlier this year, when an executive had some health issues. Now they are back to work, at least in one kind of capacity. Back in September, WWE COO Triple H suffered a cardiac event and has not been away recovering since. This week, a pair of videos have been posted to TikTok, showing Triple H and various other WWE executives, including Vince McMahon, touring what will become the future WWE headquarters. This is Triple H’s first appearance since September, though there is no word on how much he is doing otherwise. It’s great to have him back. Check out Triple H on tour, plus some of his great returns: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains ..

WWE Making Strong Push To Re-Sign Star Whose Contract Expires Next Month

November 19, 2021 • Admin

They have a focus. WWE has changed so much in recent months and those changes could continue for a long time to come. Many of these changes involve wrestlers being moved out of the promotion and it feels like almost no one is safe at the moment. This is the case for both the main roster and NXT, but now WWE seems interested in keeping someone else on the payroll. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Johnny Gargano’s WWE contract expires on December 3 and he has yet to sign a new deal with the company. WWE is reportedly pushing very hard to keep Gargano, making him a “very strong offer” to keep him with the company for “a long time”. There is no word on the terms of the potential deal or what Gargano plans to do at the moment. Gargano is an NXT legend. Check out some of his better time in NXT: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: As much as I would love to have Gargano a..

REVIEW: Prime Time Wrestling – June 17, 1987: The Show Of Its Time

November 19, 2021 • Admin

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Prime Time Wrestling Date: June 17, 1987 Hosts: Gorilla Monsoon, Bobby Heenan Commentators: Dick Graham, Lord Alfred Hayes, Gorilla Monsoon, Bobby Heenan, Vince McMahon, Gorilla Monsoon, Bruno Sammartino Oh boy it’s Prime Time. This was one of the big shows from the WWF, as it featured various matches from major house shows. That might not sound like much, but at the time, this was a pretty awesome deal. What makes it better is Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan as the hosts, giving us the legendary banter that made..

VIDEOS: Wrestling World Reacts To Latest WWE Releases

November 19, 2021 • Admin

They don’t seem pleased. One of the biggest WWE stories over the last year and a half has been the string of releases. The company has released well over 100 wrestlers in the last eighteen months and that continued earlier this week. It was a story that has taken place several times now and just like the previous times, the wrestling world has a lot to say about the whole thing. Earlier this week, WWE released another group of eight wrestlers, including the Hit Row faction, John Morrison, Shane Thorne, Tegan Nox, Drake Maverick and Jaxson Ryker. Since the releases have taken place, several wrestlers and wrestling personalities have reacted to the situation, with the majority of them expressing sympathy for the wrestlers and anger towards WWE. Here are some of the better reactions, including from some of the released wrestlers: [This post contains video, click to play] Stop supporting a company that has ZERO respect for their talent. That Explains It: Why Vince McMahon Pulled Paul Heyman From Talking Smack

November 19, 2021 • Admin

There was a reason for that. WWE has a lot of different television shows available, but that is not the extent of their content. In addition to everything they put on television, they have a wide variety of web series available as well. Some of these have quite the fan base, though one recent change was not so well received. Now we know a bit more about why that was the case. Earlier this year, Paul Heyman was replaced on WWE’s Talking Smack series. The move came just after live fans returned to WWE events and it was unclear why the change was made. Heyman explained the change in an interview with Ariel Helwani, saying that he was unable to appear in the studio for the show while also appearing in Roman Reigns’ corner for the dark match main event. As a result of the scheduling conflict, Vince McMahon made the call for an immediate change. There is nothing to suggest that there is any heat on Heyman. It’s an interesting interview. Check out the show, plus Heyman on Talking Smack: [T..

November 19, 2021 • Admin

He’s a big one. There are legends in the wrestling world and then there is Hulk Hogan. While the last few years have not seen him painted in the best light due to some rather bad decisions, Hogan is still one of the biggest stars in the history of wrestling and the reason a lot of fans watch today. He still draws some interest today and now it seems that things are not going so well for him. During the debut episode of his Wooooo Nation Uncensored podcast, Ric Flair revealed that Hulk Hogan is undergoing some serious health issues. While Flair did not elaborate on what was wrong, he did talk about how the two support each other, including Hogan visiting Flair while he was in a coma in 2017. There is no word on what is wrong with Hogan, though he has had several back surgeries over there years. Flair and Hogan have a longstanding history. WWE Completely Dropping NXT Character, New Name Revealed

November 19, 2021 • Admin

Switch it up. Sometimes, a wrestler needs to change course in a way. This could be anything from switching from good to evil or getting a manager or just changing the way their matches go. Other times it is a much more dramatic change and can include a wrestler being completely repackaged. That seems to be the case again, as a unique gimmick is going away. According to PWInsider.com, WWE has dropped the Mei Ying character in NXT. The character, played by Karen Q, was an ancient witch who led the Tian Sha stable. Karen Q is still with NXT but will be going by the name Wendy Choo going forward. There is no word on when she will debut or what this will mean for Boa, the other member of the Tian Sha stable. Tian Sha was an interesting group. Check out some of their time together: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is one of the few NXT changes that actually makes sense. WATCH: Roman Reigns Addresses Match With The Rock On The Tonight Show

November 19, 2021 • Admin

Reigns would know. There are a lot of wrestling families in the world and you know some of the most famous names. Just having the same blood as certain other members of wrestling families will be enough to push you pretty high up the depth chart and the track record can be really strong. Now we might be on the way towards two of the most prominent family members facing off. Universal Champion Roman Reigns appeared on the Tonight Show this week to promote Survivor Series. During the appearance, Reigns was asked about a potential appearances from the Rock, his cousin, at Survivor Series. Reigns said that he had not heard any rumors about Rock showing up, but both of them debuted at Survivor Series. With regards to a match, Reigns said he would absolutely face the Rock in a match. November 19, 2021 • Admin

NXT UK Date: November 18, 2021 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andy Shepherd We’re back in England and on the way to a bunch of big TV matches since there has not been any mention of a Takeover in forever around here. The big story at the moment is the upcoming Rampage Brown vs. Ilja Dragunov United Kingdom Title match, which is coming at some point in the future. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. A-Kid vs. Sam Gradwell They go with the grappling to start with A-Kid taking him down with the headlock takeover. That’s reversed into an armbar but A-Kid flips out and grabs a cravate. Gradwell can’t flip his way out so he goes with a knee brace to the eyes to escape instead. We’re off to a face pull on A-Kid, followed by a heck of a running elbow to the face. There’s an overhead belly to belly for two and Gradwell is getting cocky. The Boston crab goes on but A-Kid slips out and kicks him in the head. A high crossbody gets two on Gradwell an..

WATCH: WWE Stars Appear On The Late Show

November 19, 2021 • Admin

The star power shines through. Wrestlers have a rather unique celebrity status. It’s true that they are on television every week and get to make all kinds of appearances, but ultimately they are still seen as just wrestlers. Sometimes you get to see them do something in the mainstream though, and that was the case in a big way earlier this week on national TV. A group of WWE Superstars were guests on the Late Show earlier this week, as part of the promotion for this weekend’s Survivor Series event. The wrestlers, including Big E., Becky Lynch, Randy Orton, the Miz, Street Profits, Seth Rollins and Bianca Belair, took part in the Just One Question segment, where various members of the show’s production staff would ask questions, earning some less than expected responses. They’re stars. Wrestling Legend Reveals Serious Health Troubles Caused By Alcohol Abuse

November 19, 2021 • Admin

It could be worse. One of the more surprising wrestling stories of the year was the announcement that AEW’s Jon Moxley would be entering rehab for alcohol issues. The story came out of nowhere but was a good example of someone realizing that they had a problem and getting the help that they needed. It’s not the easiest story to hear, and now we are hearing something similar. In an interview with Oricon News (with translation courtesy of 411mania.com), wrestling legend and former WWE Women’s Champion Bull Nakano revealed that she was hospitalized last year with cirrhosis of the liver due to alcohol abuse. Nakano said that she refused to go to the hospital due to worrying about work but her symptoms eventually became too bad. Her husband eventually found out how bad things were for Nakano and convinced her to go to the hospital. She also mentioned that she would drink every day but now no longer has since quit and feels healthier as a result. Nakano last wrestled on November 3, 2007. N..

WRESTLING RUMORS: Several NXT UK Injuries Put Wrestlers Out For Months

November 19, 2021 • Admin

That’s never good. Injuries are a way of life in wrestling. No matter how safe or talented a wrestler may be, there is always the chance that something could go wrong and put them on the shelf. That is never a good thing to see and the scary part is wondering just how long someone is going to be out of action. Unfortunately the injury bug seems to have hit one promotion extra hard. NXT UK seems to have suffered a variety of injuries. First up, Flash Morgan Webster has announced that he is undergoing surgery to repair a torn labrum. Webster revealed that he suffered the injury three years ago and has wrestled through it since. The injury was explained at the hands of an attack by Rampage Brown. There is no word on how long he will be out of action. In addition, Ringsidenews.com is reporting a pair of injuries. During a recent NXT UK taping, Brown is said to have suffered some an injury during a United Kingdom Title match against Ilja Dragunov. There is no word on what happened or how ..

WWE Makes Another Change To Survivor Series Card

November 19, 2021 • Admin

There’s your replacement. We are less than four days away from Survivor Series and that means the card should be mostly set. That being said, WWE has a tendency to take their time making some final adjustments and this year is no exception. As of last week, there are two holes on some Survivor Series teams, but one of them has since been filled with a bit of a surprise replacement. Last week on SmackDown, Sonya Deville pulled Aliyah from the SmackDown women’s Survivor Series team after a six woman tag but did not name a replacement at the time. This week, Deville has announced that Toni Storm will be taking Aliyah’s place on the team. Storm appeared on last week’s SmackDown to challenge Charlotte to a SmackDown Women’s Title match but was turned down. She has not wrestled on television since the October 8 SmackDown. With #SurvivorSeries fast approaching, I want to ensure each brand is represented by the best and brightest Superstars. Therefore, it’s my pleasure to announce that TONI S..

Big E.’s Actions Caused WWE To Receive Some Complaints

November 18, 2021 • Admin

I guess it’s not for everyone. The WWE Champion is automatically one of the biggest names in wrestling, just due the prestige of the championship that they are holding. It is the kind of thing that can make someone’s career, even if they have already done quite a few positive things before. It turns out that the current WWE Champion got the company in some trouble due to one of his signature actions. During a recent appearance on the Jim and Sam Show, WWE Champion Big E. revealed that WWE received some complaints about him before he won the title. When Big E. teaming with the rest of the New Day, he would thrust his hips against the floor during matches, which ultimately led to WWE receiving some complaints. Other complaints came from his hip gyrations while dancing in the ring during and after matches. Big E. was not clear on where the complaints came from and it is not clear if he was punished in any way. Big E. can celebrate. Check out some of his bigger wins: [This post contains..

WWE Closing Yet Another Office As Changes Continue

November 18, 2021 • Admin

Another change. There have been a lot of moves made in WE as of late, with several of them being behind the scenes. WWE has let a bunch of backstage employees go while also consolidating several of their departments together. It is not clear why things have been changed so dramatically, but now it seems that something else has been changed outside of their main office. According to Periodico Correo, WWE has closed its office in Mexico, with no reason given, though the ten plus employees working at the office knew about the closure in advance. This comes after WWE closed its offices in Japan and England earlier this year. WWE has not run an event in Mexico since 2019 but they plan to return to the county in the future now that the Coronavirus travel restrictions are being lifted. WWE has spent some time in Mexico before. More Than One? Surprising Note On Upcoming AEW Match

November 18, 2021 • Admin

I wouldn’t have bet on it. One of the best things about AEW is their roster, which has a great mixture of different kinds of wrestlers. AEW has all kinds of wrestlers, including up and coming stars, modern stars and veterans, all of whom come together in a way like almost nothing else. Now the company is planning for a feud between a few different generations. This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured a segment where Darby Allin said that he wanted a match. The Gunn Club appeared, with Billy Gunn challenging Allin to a match. Allin accepted, with the match being set for some time in the future. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, this will not be a one off match, as the match will be the start of a feud between Allin and Billy’s sons Colton and Austin. This is going to be different. Check out Allin, Gunn, and the Gunn Club in action: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This..

How Chris Jericho Lost Over $100,000 On Wrestling And Then Got It Back

November 18, 2021 • Admin

It can happen to…well probably just Jericho. There are certain stars in wrestling who are always doing something different. For some reason, they do not stick with the norm and are constantly finding some way to reinvent themselves. It can be fascinating to see what they think of next, but that does not mean it is always going to work. That was certainly the case with one first’s try at an idea. During a recent episode of his Talk Is Jericho podcast, Chris Jericho revealed that he lost six figures of money on his first Jericho cruise. The cruise, called the Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager At Sea, launched in October 2018 and featured a variety of concerts, wrestling and appearances, with Jericho footing the bill for paying everyone. The financial setup was changed for the second cruise, which allowed him to make up the loss and earn a profit. Jericho is planning his fourth cruise in the spring of 2022. The cruise was certainly different. Check out how it has gone over the years: [This post..

November 18, 2021 • Admin

You are the first person that a lot of fans are going to think of for the promotion and the responsibilities mount up in a hurry. Last weekend, Hangman Page defeated Kenny Omega to become the new AEW World Champion at Full Gear.
