WATCH: Possible Heel Turn At WWE Survivor Series

November 22, 2021 • Admin

It might be time for a change. There are not many ways to make drastic changes to a wrestler. One of the better options is to switch someone from good to bad or vice versa, as it can open up a variety of new options for them. Some of these can be more successful than the others, but now we might have seen another big star make the jump over to the other side. This weekend’s WWE Survivor Series event featured a Kickoff Show match between Damian Priest and Shinsuke Nakamura. During the match, Nakamura’s friend Rick Boogs kept playing his guitar, which annoyed Priest. Finally Priest had enough and broke the guitar, which he then used to hit Nakamura for the disqualification. This may have been a heel turn for Priest, who has been more aggressive in recent weeks. This could go somewhere. Check out the match plus some more angry Priest: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I don’t know..

What Made Vince McMahon Apologize To A WWE Star

November 22, 2021 • Admin

It takes a lot to do that. Vince McMahon is a lot of things and some of those are not as good as others. One of the main criticisms of McMahon is that he can be a bit out of touch at times, but he is still going to get what is going on at least some of the time. Earlier this year, there was a decision made that left a lot of people confused, but McMahon did try to make up for it. In a new interview with TalkSport, Zelina Vega revealed that McMahon personally called her to apologize for leaving her off of the September 10 SmackDown. Vega’s father passed away nearly twenty years before the show on September 11, 2001 and Vega had been featured in materials promoting the show. However, she did not appear on the show as her appearance was cut due to time issues. McMahon told her that it was not a personal matter but rather making time for other things. Vega has since gone on to win the Queen’s Crown tournament. Vega is a very talented star. Check out some of her WWE work: [This post cont..

WATCH: Becky Lynch’s Very Emotional Interview After WWE Survivor Series

November 22, 2021 • Admin

Can you blame her? Wrestlers are ultimately performers in a way, but there are still very real people in the ring. Those people are going to have emotions of their own, some of which can be related to the wrestling business. Sometimes you will see someone let some of that emotion out and it can be rather interesting to watch. That was the case again this weekend. One of the major feuds coming into this year’s Survivor Series was between Becky Lynch and Charlotte. The two were previously friends but various issues have driven them apart. Lynch defeated Charlotte in the show’s opening match but she was not done for the night. WWE has released an interview with Lynch from after the match, where she talks about how emotional she got getting ready for the match and where they are now. Lynch was in tears during the promo and talked about how close the two were while they despise each other now. It was an emotional night. Check out the promo, the match, and how we got here: [This post cont..

Details On Recent WWE Release, Bad Reputation Backstage

November 22, 2021 • Admin

There’s your explanation. WWE has been releasing wrestlers left and right over the last year and a half and there is nothing to suggest that it is going to stop anytime soon. There have been some very surprising names released, which was the case again earlier this week. Now that a little time has passed, we know a bit more about why one of the wrestlers was let go. Last week, WWE cut eight more wrestlers, including the entire Hit Row stable of Ashante Adonis, Isaiah Scott and Top Dolla. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dolla had developed a reputation of being difficult backstage as he rubbed several people the wrong way in NXT. This was becoming the case again during his time on the main roster. WWE decided to cut him and Scott and Adonis were seen as being in the crossfire. Hit Row did not have much time to develop into stars. Check out some of their time in WWE: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post cont..

Bianca Belair And Montez Ford Have A Unique Idea For A Match

November 22, 2021 • Admin

What a weird request. There are a fair few wrestling couples but they can be pretty few and far between. It is even rarer to see them both be successful on the same show, but it has become a bit more common as of late. There is a case of it taking place at the moment on Monday Night Raw and it seems that one half of the couple has a unique idea for something the two of them can do on television. Monday Night Raw’s Montez Ford and Bianca Belair appeared on Hot 97’s Ebro In The Morning to promote Survivor Series. Belair mentioned that Ford had an idea of the two of them teaming together and having Belair gorilla press him for a toss onto someone else. According to Belair, this is something that Ford has talked about multiple times over the years. The two have been paired on WWE TV in the past but have not been presented together in recent months. They have a history. Check out the two of them together and apart: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, cl..

Major Update On Brock Lesnar’s WWE Return

November 22, 2021 • Admin

Welcome back. There are certain wrestlers that you are going to notice no matter what they are doing. These wrestlers are often the larger than life characters who can command attention just based on their presence or physical aspects alone. You don’t get to see many of them, but that might be changing soon as one of the bigger names seems to be on his way back. Last month, Brock Lesnar was suspended from WWE due to attacking Roman Reigns and Adam Pearce and destroying a television camera in the process. WWE executive Adam Pearce ordered the suspension, but this weekend at Survivor Series, Kayla Braxton revealed that the suspension had ended. There is no word on when Lesnar will be returning to WWE television. Lesnar knows how to do these returns. Check out some of his better ones: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is a bit sooner of a return than I was expecting from Lesn..

Survivor Series 2021 Live Coverage And Results

November 22, 2021 • Admin

Survivor Series 2021 Date: November 21, 2021 Location: Barclays Center, New York City, New York Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Jimmy Smith, Byron Saxton, Pat McAfee I’m running out of ways to say this show isn’t that interesting, but it seems that even some of the wrestlers are thinking the same. This is another Battle For Brand Supremacy and this time around we’ll be seeing more champions fighting each other. Not for any titles mind you, but for the glory of their t-shirt. Let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Shinsuke Nakamura (Smackdown) vs. Damian Priest (Raw) Non-title and Rick Boogs is here with Nakamura. Priest grabs a hammerlock to start but Nakamura fights up thanks to the power of a guitar solo. Back up and Nakamura mocks Priest’s arrow before sending him into the corner for Good Vibrations, again complete with the guitar. Priest runs Nakamura over for two and an elbow the face gets the same. We hit the chinlock so Boogs plays him back up, earning a warning from Priest...

The Man We Need: Virgil Has Saved WWE From Vince McMahon

November 21, 2021 • Admin

Can you future endeavor him? Whether you like him or not, there is no one in the history of wrestling as powerful as Vince McMahon. For about forty years, McMahon has run the largest wrestling promotion in the world and more or less taken over the industry. There are some people who are not exactly thrilled with what he has been doing as of late though, and now a wrestling legend is doing something about it. Former WWE star Virgil has posted a tweet, saying that he has officially released McMahon from his duties. Therefore, he will be overseeing all all decisions in the company. He also thanks everyone for finally coming to their senses. This is a reference to the recent wave of WWE releases, including multiple wrestlers being released from the company over the course of November. Breaking news: I have just released Vince McMahon from his duties. Effective immediately I will be once again overseeing all talent and decision making. Glad that the company has come to their senses. pic.t..

WWE Searching For Specific Group Of Wrestlers In Recruiting

November 21, 2021 • Admin

That’s rather specific. To say that WWE has been a bit erratic as of late would be quite the understatement. The company has let all kinds of wrestlers go over the last several months and it often feels like no one’s job is safe. That can make for some tricky situations as everyone tries to figure out who might be gone next. Now it seems that WWE has their eye on a specific group of wrestlers. Earlier this year, WWE held a tryout in Las Vegas, which resulted in 13-16 people being offered contracts with the company. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is prioritizing hiring “People Of Color” to the company. While that might not seem to be the case with their releases, that is their current focus with their recruiting of new talent. It is not clear how many wrestlers from the tryout signed with the company. WWE certainly loves to bring in new stars. Released WWE Star Makes Surprise Debut, Attacks Former World Champion

November 21, 2021 • Admin

Welcome to your new home. The biggest WWE story of the year has been the company’s enormous amount of releases, as all kinds of wrestlers have been let go. This has included stars from the main roster, with legends and rookies being released. NXT has certainly not been immune either, but now we know where one of those released stars has found a new home. Jonah, formerly known as Bronson Reed, made his Impact Wrestling debut during this weekend’s Turning Point event. Josh Alexander was speaking during the event and was attacked by Jonah, who hit multiple top rope splashes to leave Alexander bleeding from the mouth. Jonan is a former NXT North American Champion and was released from his WWE deal in August. You might need a refresher. Check out what Jonah can do in the ring: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is about as good of an option as Jonah could have hoped for, as he c..

UPDATE: WWE Change Actually Not Taking Place After All

November 21, 2021 • Admin

Not so fast? There have been all kinds of changes taking place in WWE over the last few years and some of them have been a lot more noticeable than others. Those are the changes that make the biggest headlines for the most people, but there are some that do not get that level of attention. It seems that one should not have gotten as much attention because it was not true. Earlier this week, a story came up saying that WWE was closing its office in Mexico City, as it had done in the United Kingdom and Japan. However, according to Sean Ross Sapp and corroborated by Wrestling Inc., the office will be staying open, as per employees who work in the office and a statement from WWE. There is no word on why there was confusion about the closing in the first place. I've heard from people who work at WWE's office in Mexico that say the office is not shut down as reported — Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com (@SeanRossSapp) November 18, 2021 Well that’s good to hear. Survivor Series 2021 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

November 21, 2021 • Admin

What in the world happened to this show? Fans have not exactly seemed thrilled with the Battle For Brand Supremacy for a long time now, but this year even the wrestlers have been complaining about how worthless the show really is. There is nothing of value here as the show is all about bragging rights, without even as much as a title on the line. Maybe the action can make up for the lack of…well everything else. Let’s get to it. Shinsuke Nakamura (SmackDown) vs. Damian Priest (Monday Night Raw) We’ll start it off with a battle of the midcard champions in a match that is kind of appealing. Nakamura has come a very long way since winning the King’s Crown and then the Intercontinental Title. At the same time, Priest is one of the few people to be called up from NXT and then actually do something good on the main roster. The fact that these are two of the exceptions tells you a lot about WWE, but that’s for another time. He looks ready: [This post contains video, click to play] I think..

There’s Another Big Free Agent Wrestler On The Market

November 21, 2021 • Admin

He’s on the market. There are all kinds of wrestlers in the world today and some of them are popping up all over the place. One of the fascinating things about modern wrestling is how many promotions you can see a wrestler work for in a short amount of time. Now that might be the case all over again, as a fairly big star, at least in the literal sense, as someone is on the free agent market. According to Fightful Select, W. Morrissey, formerly known as Big Cass in WWE, is a free agent, as his Impact Wrestling contract has expired. Morrissey is negotiating with Impact Wrestling and hopes to receive a “big money” contract as he feels he has done well in the ring and backstage. While his contract has expires, Morrissey is still scheduled to face Matt Cardona this weekend at Turning Point. Morrissey has done well in Impact Wrestling. Check out some of his time there: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click t..

AEW Star Suffers Serious Injury, Out Indefinitely

November 20, 2021 • Admin

That’s always a possibility. As talented as wrestlers can be, there is always the chance that an injury could take place. It might be just a quick fluke, but the threat is out there no matter how long or short a match may be. That is the kind of thing that can turn a career on its head, and unfortunately it seems to have done so again to a wrestler who hasn’t been back in the ring all that long. According to Wrestling Observer Live, AEW’s The Butcher has torn his bicep. The injury is said to have occurred this week on AEW Dynamite during a match between the Butcher and the Blade and Tomohiro Ishii/Orange Cassidy. There is no word on how long Butcher will be out of action. Butcher only returned to AEW in September, following a tour with his band, Every Time I Die. Butcher is a heck of a star. New Participant Set For Men’s Survivor Series Match

November 20, 2021 • Admin

He’s up next. The Survivor Series has always been a tricky show to present as there are so many people involved in the show’s namesake matches. That does not leave you a lot of options for the rest of the show, but it can get even more confusing if changes have to be made. That was the case this year, and now we seem to have the official, final lineup for everything. Last week on SmackDown, Jeff Hardy defeated Sami Zayn in a match, resulting in Zayn being removed from the SmackDown men’s Survivor Series team. There was no replacement named, so this week’s show saw a four way match to determine the final team member. Sheamus defeated Cesaro, Ricochet and Jinder Mahal to earn the final spot and complete the team. This should be good. Check out the match, plus what Sheamus has done in the Survivor Series before: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This works as well as anything else..

The Rock To Be Celebrated At Survivor Series With Special Match

November 20, 2021 • Admin

Keep the build going. We are less than two days away from Survivor Series and that is a tricky card to build. There are so many people already put into the show’s namesake matches that it does not leave much for everyone else to do. At the same time though, the theme of Battle for Brand Supremacy means that one sides has to win more matches. Now that can be assured with something new being added to the card. This week on SmackDown, Sonya Deville announced a twenty five man battle royal for Survivor Series. The match will be held as a tribute to the Rock, who debuted at Survivor Series 1996, twenty five years ago. So far, the only name confirmed for the match is Sami Zayn, whose complaints about his documentary led to the match being made. Deville’s idea is that Zayn can win and therefore be associated with the Rock as a result. There have been some battle royals on the show before. Check out the announcement and what this one has to live up to: [This post contains video, click to pl..

AEW Rampage Results – November 19, 2021

November 20, 2021 • Admin

Rampage Date: November 19, 2021 Location: Chartway Arena, Norfolk, Virginia Commentators: Excalibur, Chris Jericho, Taz, Ricky Starks We’re fresh off of Full Gear and the next big thing, probably for their upcoming Clash Of Champions style special, is Hangman Page defending the World Title against Bryan Danielson. That will be more than enough to carry the shows for a bit, but we should be in for some other stuff this week. What other stuff? Well probably some AEW stuff. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Billy Gunn vs. Darby Allin The Gunn Club and Sting are all here. Feeling out process to start with Gunn not seeming that worried here. A test of strength isn’t happening but Gunn hits a heck of a backdrop to send Allin bailing for a breather. Gunn follows him out and sends him back inside, albeit with a pause for a staredown with Sting. After a hug to Austin Gunn, Billy pulls Allin out from under the ropes for a crash to the floor. Another Sting distraction doesn’t do much for All..

Smackdown Date: November 19, 2021 Location: XL Center, Hartford, Connecticut Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee It’s the go home show for Survivor Series and that means it is time to hype up the Battle Of Brand Supremacy. We don’t have anything else to talk about on the show because there are no title matches or really anything personal to build towards, but maybe Big E. can show up to avenge his friends. Let’s get to it. The post SmackDown Live Coverage And Results – November 19, 2021 appeared first on WrestlingRumors.net.

Eddie Kingston: An Imperfect Hero For An Imperfect World

November 19, 2021 • Admin

No matter how they tell the story of professional wrestling, it is always the same. Good vs. evil; babyface vs. heel. The fans cheer for their favorite hero to finally overcome the bully that stands in their way of achieving their goals. However, outside the obstacles the heels may place, they do not seem to have many problems in their life. They smile, laugh, and have a good time. Maybe they have a family and are portrayed to have it all together. While fans do enjoy these characters, the ones they have always naturally gotten behind are the ones that seem the most real. Stone Cold Steve Austin became the biggest star in professional wrestling solely due to the fact the Everyday Man could see themselves in Austin. Everyone has had horrible bosses they wish they could give it back to. Daniel Bryan (now, Bryan Danielson in AEW) was relatable because every person in some sort of fashion has felt like they have been held down and told they aren’t what companies or people are looking f..
