WWE Executive Boasts About Events Having….Bottled Water

November 24, 2021 • Admin

Well that’s certainly something. WWE is the largest and most powerful wrestling company in the world and they have been for quite some time. They have their hands in so many different things in multiple industries but ultimately everything they do is centered around wrestling. Part of that includes live fans having a good time, but WWE seems to have an interesting take on what that might entail. Last week, WWE held an upfront session for advertises before the weekend’s Survivor Series event, according to Variety. One of the speakers was WWE’s Head of Global Sales and Partnerships Claudine Lilien, who spoke on how WWE permeates the culture in a variety of ways. Lilien said that “Whether it’s Bad Bunny or bottled water, WWE creates immersive experiences for our partners.” That’s quite the pairing. WWE Continues To Have Issues With Fans Harassing Wrestlers

November 24, 2021 • Admin

What’s in the water up there? Fans are a crucial part of any wrestling show, which was certainly proven in the last year or so. It meant a lot to have the fans back in the building and WWE went out of their way to show what a bit deal it was. There can be some issues with having them back though, and one of those issues was on display this week. It just so happens that a similar situation took place off camera. One of the bigger stories to come out of this week’s Monday Night Raw was a fan attacking Seth Rollins. However, that was not the only instance of a fan being ejected. According to Alex McCarthy, a fan yelled at wrestlers during the post show dark match, with MVP and Sami Zayn not liking what he said. Security ultimately took the fan out of the building before the show ended. It is not clear what was said, though the fan was said to have been yelling at the Street Profits earlier in the night. I was there; this guy didn't get ejected. SP had a long commercial break before..

Several New Matches Set For NXT WarGames

November 24, 2021 • Admin

The card grew. NXT has been completely changed over the last few months and you might not recognize quite a few of the people on the show at the moment. That can make for some very interesting changes and new directions, as a lot of what has worked before is gone. NXT is still trying to do something that they know work, and that will be the case again at WarGames. Now we know a lot more about what to expect. This week’s NXT saw three new matches added to WarGames, plus some gaps being filled in. The show’s main event was set, as the team of Tommaso Ciampa/Johnny Gargano/Pete Dunne/LA Knight will face Bron Breakker/Carmelo Hayes/Tony D’Angelo/Grayson Waller. The match is being set up as a battle between old school and new school, with Breakker making the announcement of the match to end the show. In addition, Kay Lee Ray has joined Raquel Gonzalez’s team in the women’s WarGames match to complete the eight woman field. In addition, a hair vs. hair match was set, with Cameron Grimes cha..

How WWE Has Changed Monday Night Raw Plans After A Surprise Release

November 24, 2021 • Admin

There’s your replacement. WWE has had all kinds of changes taking place over the last few months, mainly in the form of wrestlers being released from the company. That can make for some major shifts in storylines, as the angles still have to continue. It seems that in one case, one wrestler was literally swapped out for another, but now we know how the original plans would have gone. This week on Monday Night Raw, Bianca Belair defeated Tamina. Following the match, Doudrop attacked Belair, who had referenced Doudrop before the match. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Doudrop is taking the place of Nia Jax, who was released earlier this year, in the storyline. This is also the explanation for Doudrop suddenly turning heel earlier this month. It was a busy night. Check out what happened, plus what else Doudrop can do: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: The more I think about ..

NXT Live Coverage And Results – November 23, 2021

November 24, 2021 • Admin

NXT Date: November 23, 2021 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Beth Phoenix, Vic Joseph, Wade Barrett It’s title time as we have a pretty big main event with North American Champion Carmelo Hayes defending against Johnny Gargano and Pete Dunne. NXT has a good history of setting up these title matches and then making them work, so hopefully they remember how to make it work. Let’s get to it. We open with Grayson Waller in the ring, talking about how great of an NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa really is. Waller goes on about the fans booing everyone, including John Cena and Roman Reigns, but those two are at the top of the game. It’s like people with 80,000 tweets and 3 followers don’t matter! Cue Ciampa to cut Waller off and we’re ready to go. Tommaso Ciampa vs. Grayson Waller Non-title. Ciampa isn’t having this and stomps away in the corner. A running knee puts Waller on the floor but he comes back in with a jumping neckbreaker. Now it’s Waller stomping a..

Longtime WWE Name And NXT Coach Released From WWE

November 23, 2021 • Admin

Fare thee well. There are all kinds of stars in WWE, with some of them being bigger names than others. One of the more interesting things to see is how long some wrestlers last, as you might see someone unexpected slip underneath the radar. That can make for some surprises when you don’t realize just how long they have been around, which was the case with a name who is now gone with the company. Former WWE star and NXT coach Scotty 2 Hotty has requested and been granted his release from WWE. In a post on his Facebook page, Scotty said that he was leaving the company as he did not want to be doing something just for the paycheck. He also speaks about being thankful to WWE for allowing him to live his dreams for so long. Scotty has been an NXT coach since 2016. There is nothing to suggest any animosity between the two sides. Scotty had a heck of a career with WWE. Check out some of his time with the company: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click ..

205 Live Results – November 19, 2021

November 23, 2021 • Admin

205 Live Date: November 19, 2021 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Vic Joseph It’s the go home show for Survivor Series, which has nothing to do with anything going on with this show. Instead, we’ll be getting more of the NXT B lineup, plus a battle of the midcarders. That doesn’t sound too bad, so maybe they can make it work out well enough again. Let’s get to it. Malik Blade vs. Edris Enofe This is Enofe’s debut. They go technical to start with Blade snapmaring him down for an early two, sending us into a standoff. Enofe rolls him up for two and that’s good for another standoff as they seem to respect each other. An exchange of rollups give them two each and it’s another standoff. Blade goes more traditional with a headlock on the mat but Enofe gives him a headlock takeover of his own. Back up and Blade hits a dropkick for one and the armbar goes on. Some armdrags have Enofe down again and a missile dropkick sets up…a missed frog s..

Boomer Sooner: Very Good Health Update On Jim Ross

November 23, 2021 • Admin

Hopefully it gets better. Wrestlers are very different than a lot of people, but they do share a lot of the same experiences. Some of these can be very great moments, but others are not so fortunate. This can include health issues, as sometimes a wrestler, or a wrestling personality, has to deal with something serious. That was the case again this week, but you might not notice on TV. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Jim Ross underwent successful back surgery this week. It is not known what the surgery was exactly for, but Ross had mentioned that some skin cancer had been found on his back. Ross is not expected to miss any time from AEW, and is planning to be in Chicago for this week’s edition of Dynamite. He is also scheduled to begin undergoing radiation treatment for his skin cancer starting next week. Ross has meant a lot in AEW. Huge Match Takes Place After Monday Night Raw Ends

November 23, 2021 • Admin

We’re not done yet. There is a lot of WWE content every single week and that has been the case for a long time now. Between Monday Night Raw, SmackDown and NXT, WWE has seven hours of television a week. That can create a few issues, such as a pretty high rate of over saturation, but sometimes WWE has even more to do. That was certainly the case this week. This week’s Monday Night Raw ended with Big E. successfully defending the WWE Title against Austin Theory before beating up Seth Rollins. According to PWInsider.com, after the show went off the air, a group of villains came out to attack Big E., causing Drew McIntyre to run out with a group of wrestlers for the save. This set up a fourteen man tag with Big E. and McIntyre’s team winning to end the night. Following the match, Randy Orton wished his daughter a happy birthday. It was a busy night. Check out what some of these people were doing while the show was still on the air: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post ..

Fair Thee Well: Longtime Wrestling Couple Announces Split

November 23, 2021 • Admin

They seem to be available. There are only a handful of wrestling relationships that tend to work long term. Sometimes you see a pair of wrestlers who can make a romantic relationship last, but the ones that do tend to make for some rather well known pairings. Now it seems that one of those pairings has called it quits after a good number of years together. Velvet Sky and Bully Ray have announced via Twitter that they have amicably agreed to split up. Both sent out tweets saying the same thing, with only their names being swapped out. They also said that this will be the only public comment either will make on the breakup. The couple had been together since May 2016 and had been been engaged at one point. .@bullyray5150 & I have decided to part ways amicably. There’s no animosity and we will always be cool, and we wish each other well in life. This will be the only public comment we make on the matter. ?? — Velvet Sky (@VelVelHoller) November 22, 2021 .@VelVelHoller & I have decided..

REVIEW: WWE Vengeance 2007: Gold, Gold And More Gold

November 23, 2021 • Admin

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Vengeance 2007 Date: June 24, 2007 Location: Toyota Center, Houston, Texas Attendance: 15,000 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler, Michael Cole, Joey Styles, Tazz, John Layfield It’s time for a Night of Champions (that has a ring to it) as this whole show is about title matches. We have nine title matches and that is almost a guarantee for a couple of changes. One of which will be the ECW World Title, which is vacant coming into the show. Let’s get to it. The opening video looks at how everything is about the ti..

Hand Them Over: Title Change Takes Place On Monday Night Raw

November 23, 2021 • Admin

History has been made! There is something special about seeing a title change. It means that we are in for something new, and that is the kind of feeling that you do not get to see very often in wrestling. They happen more often than they used to as modern wrestling has more championships, and now another one of them has changed hands this week. Actually, two of them. The WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles changed hands during this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw. Queen Zelina and Carmella defeated Rhea Ripley and Nikki Ash to win the titles when Vega pinned Ripley. This marks the first title reign for either Vega and Carmella and in Vega’s case, her first championship in WWE. Ripley and Ash had held the titles for sixty three days. That’s a big title change. Check out the new champs how the new champs work together: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is a title change that mak..

VIDEO: Fan Attacks Seth Rollins During Monday Night Raw, Arrested

November 23, 2021 • Admin

Uh….security? Some wrestlers are in a tough spot at times as their job is to make the fans hate them. The goal of a villain in wrestling is to get the fans so riled up that they are willing to spend their time and potentially money to see someone beat them up. That is hard to do, but when it works, it works very well. This time though, it might have worked too well. This week on Monday Night Raw, Seth Rollins attacked Finn Balor, including giving him the Stomp onto the ring steps. Following the attack, Rollins began walking back up to the stage when a fan jumped the barricade and tackled him. The camera immediately cut away and the attack was not mentioned. In a video that has been released on Twitter, Rollins tried to get the fan in a front facelock until referees and security took the fan away. After the show was over, WWE issued a statement to PWInsider.com, saying: “WWE takes the safety of its performers very seriously. The individual who attacked Seth Rollins has been turned ove..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – November 22, 2021

November 23, 2021 • Admin

Monday Night Raw Date: November 22, 2021 Location: Barclays Center, New York City, New York Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton We’re done with Survivor Series and Raw won the Battle For Brand Supremacy, which I don’t think was actually mentioned on the show. What was mentioned was Mr. McMahon’s egg, which is a prop from a movie that he thinks is worth millions of dollars. Then someone stole it and tonight we need to find out who did it. What a great way to start the holidays so let’s get to it. Vince McMahon is glaring at Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville over the missing egg. We recap the case of the stolen egg. Back in the office, Vince tells Pearce and Deville that they need to find out who did this. Deville has talked to everyone and the surveillence footage isn’t clear. Vince makes them an offer: if someone confesses, they can face Big E. for the WWE Title tonight. Now find it or be fired. Randy Orton is ready to face Dolph Ziggler, who could get lost on the wa..

The Survivor Series Main Event Caused Some Backstage Panic

November 22, 2021 • Admin

That would have been bad. WWE presents a lot of different shows every year but a handful of them are bigger than others. The most important of these shows are pay per views but then there are a group of those that are even bigger than those. One of those took place over the weekend, but something almost went very badly for WWE, which could have caused a lot of problems. According to PWInsider.com, there were some concerns during the main event of this weekend’s Survivor Series between Roman Reigns and Big E. The worry was that the show would run longer than its allotted time, as the show needed to be done by 11:35pm EST. The main event wound up starting after 11pm but did get off the air in time. Part of the concern was due to the men’s Survivor Series elimination match running long. They had a lot to get through. Check out the two matches in question and how the show as a whole went down: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This ..

Sounds Eggcellent: More On Vince McMahon’s Survivor Series Story

November 22, 2021 • Admin

Multiple reasons. There are a lot things going on in WWE at the moment and some of them are more interesting than others. In addition to the regular wrestling and matches being set up, there are also several angles, some of which are more interesting than others. On occasion you get something that is rather bizarre, and that was the case this weekend, as the story is covering two different purposes. Vince McMahon made his return during the Survivor Series Kickoff Show, where he got out of his limo while holding a large golden egg. Later in the night, McMahon bragged about the egg to Roman Reigns before someone stole the egg from his office. McMahon has ordered Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville to find out who stole the egg. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the deal is product placement for the new Netflix movie Red Notice, starring the Rock, which features the egg. The storyline is also designed to get McMahon back on television, as he has not been around as much as of late. This w..

How WWE Made Sure To Protect These Wrestlers At Survivor Series

November 22, 2021 • Admin

They had a plan. Survivor Series has come and gone and as usual, the show was centered around the ideas of elimination tag matches and the Battle For Brand Supremacy. That can make for a rather stacked show with all kinds of people on the card in large matches. With so many people included, there are going to be some that WWE wants to take care of more than others. Now we know who they are and how they went about it. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE intended to protect multiple wrestlers at Survivor Series. Some of the names that they wanted to protect included Bobby Lashley and Kevin Owens, both of whom were eliminated via countout. In addition, Drew McIntyre was eliminated via count out and Damian Priest lost via disqualification. The idea was to find a way to keep bigger stars from losing falls but still being eliminated, hence the countouts and disqualification. It was a busy night. Check out how some of the bigger matches went down: [This post contains video, click to..

Here’s How Confusing WWE Has Gotten Backstage (And It’s Not Good)

November 22, 2021 • Admin

They might want to work on that. There are a lot of criticisms to modern WWE and one of the most common is that they do not seem to know what they are doing from one day to the next. You will often hear stories of plans being changed at the drop of a hat, and often at the last minute. It turns out that was the case with some recently released wrestlers on their last day in the company. Last Thursday, WWE released the entire Hit Row faction from the company in a surprise move. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, this was part of a very busy day for the team. On Thursday, Hit Row had been told they would be on SmackDown, Survivor Series and Monday Night Raw. Later in the day, they were told they would not be on any of the shows, before being told they would indeed be on them. Then the three of them were released from their contracts. The team was worth a longer look. Check out what they could do when given the chance: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains ..

Kenny Omega’s Shoulder Surgery Is Changing Another Company’s Plans

November 22, 2021 • Admin

Omega had to do it. Titles are some of the most important things in all of professional wrestling. They are a rather simple concept, in that the top stars in the company have big shiny belts that signify they are the best. This has been the case for decades in wrestling and is still the case today. Now we are seeing a major title change hands, albeit not as originally planned. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Kenny Omega will be vacating the AAA Mega Championship at some point in the next few days. Omega is set to undergo shoulder surgery and will not be able to make his scheduled title defense on December 4 at TripleMania Regia II against El Hijo del Vikingo. There is no word on who will be included in the new title match, though it is expected to be a multi person match. Omega is a star anywhere. New Wrestling Hall Of Fame Announced, Including First Inductees

November 22, 2021 • Admin

They deserve the honor. Wrestling is a weird sport in that the accomplishments that wrestlers win do not last forever. Titles can be won and lost, but mainstream sports don’t lose whatever they win. It is rare to see an honor in wrestling that actually lasts, but now we are seeing some wrestlers be honored for their career efforts. They just won’t be your usual group. Earlier this month, Game Changer Wrestling announced that they will be opening the Indie Wrestling Hall Of Fame on January 22, 2022. Two members of the inaugural class have now been announced. The first announced inductee is Jerry Lynn, a former ECW and Ring of Honor World Champion. Lynn will be inducted by Sean Waltman, his longtime rival on the independent circuit. The second inductee will be Homicide, another former Ring of Honor World Champion, who has wrestled on the independent circuit for more than twenty years. Homicide will be inducted by Chris Dickinson, his partner in Violence Unlimited. *BREAKING* GCW and O..
