Pro Wrestling News WWE News: Update on Bill Goldberg's New WWE Deal

When Bill Goldberg made his return to the squared circle of WWE last year, he did so with a promise. His match with 'The Beast Incarnate' Brock Lesnar at WWE Survivor Series PPV would be both his long-awaited return to pro wrestling and his final time in the ring.

That was a lie and we couldn't be happier about it.

Today, the news abuzz the WWE Universe is that 'The Icon' Goldberg will play a big part in the WWE in 2017. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Goldberg has signed a new deal that calls for him to appear on three pay-per-view events this year. One of those is an event wrestling fans already knew about—this month's Royal Rumble, where he'll compete in the Traditional 30-man Royal Rumble Match. Another is one that they could have guessed Goldberg would appear at—Wrestlemania 33 in April at Orlando, Florida in a blockbuster bout. And the third is a bit of surprise—February's Fastlane.

Goldberg is expected to make fairly regular WWE TV appearances through WrestleMania to promote the Rumble, Fastlane and the big show itself.
