He would be a big one. WrestleMania 39 is next month and that means it is going to be time for the biggest stars in wrestling to come together for the most important event of the year. WWE has a history of having those names put together one a major card and they are doing it again, though one of the biggest names ever will not be included. Now we know a bit more about why. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: It’s On: Hell In A Cell Match Set For WrestleMania 39 WWE has attempted to get Steve Austin to return for another match at WrestleMania 39 but was turned down. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Austin was pitched a match with Brock Lesnar but turned it down due to the money offered. In addition, according to Fightful Select, Austin was asked about a match with Roman Reigns, but never got back to WWE about the offer. A new report from Fightful Select says that Austin was pitched other matches for WrestleMania, including one with LA Knight. There is no word on Austin’s response to any of ..
Not the first? We are just over four weeks away from WrestleMania 39 and the card is starting to come together. You can see a lot of the show from here and several matches have already been announced for the card. That makes for some interesting moments, but it can also be interesting to see what else didn’t happen. Now we have a better idea of what we missed. According to Fightful Select, there were multiple matches pitched for Lesnar before Omos was chosen as his WrestleMania opponent. These names included Gunther, Bobby Lashley (who Lesnar had been feuding with on and off for over a year) and Bray Wyatt. There is no word on why the previous matches were called off or how far Omos was down on the list. Lesnar is quite the monster. That would be a change. The biggest wrestling story of the year has been the return of Vince McMahon to WWE. McMahon has taken his former role as Chairman of the Board, with the reported goal of selling the company. This has led to the question of whether McMahon will return to the creative side of the company. Now we might know a little more about such a change. Earlier this week on Monday Night Raw, Brock Lesnar accepted MVP’s offer of a match against Omos at WrestleMania 39. The match would be a first time pairing as Lesnar and Omos have never faced each other. According to WrestleVotes on Twitter, the match was McMahon’s idea, who pushed it through and made it happen. WWE and its executives have consistently said that McMahon has no impact on the creative side of the company. I’m told the highly anticipated, very compelling (??) Brock Lesnar vs Omos WrestleMania matchup was the idea of one specific, powerful person who pushed it through. pic.twitter.com/VpcdEFsLzJ — WrestleVotes..
That’s a big one. We are less than five weeks away from WrestleMania 39 and the card is rapidly filling up. There are already several title matches and grudge matches set for the show but there are still several names who need something to do on the show. That makes a WrestleMania spot even more important, and now two more of those spots have officially been filled. There have been some matches already announced and there are some that are all but announced. At the same time there have been some hints dropped and now we might know a bit more about two matches that are still set to be confirmed for the show. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Grayson Waller Hijacks NXT, Calls Out Shawn Michaels To Meet Him Last week on SmackDown, Bray Wyatt challenged the winner of the Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley Elimination Chamber match to meet him. That would be a big one. We are less than forty days away from WrestleMania 39 and that means it is time to start putting together the rest of the card. WWE has been teasing some matches and they did just that again this week, with a possible clash of the titans. That’s a different way to go. Late last year, Bray Wyatt returned to WWE television after a year and a half absence. Since then, he has developed a still somewhat confusing relationship with a masked man named Uncle Howdy and defeated LA Knight in a match at the Royal Rumble. That still feels like a warmup for Wyatt, and now we might have an idea of where he is going next. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Slight Shift: WWE Reportedly Changed Plans For Trish Stratus’ Return, Still Set For Comeback This week on SmackDown, Wyatt and Howdy interrupted a Hit Row promo and took out the team. After, Wyatt said that he was back in control of his mind before bringing up Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley at Elimination Chamber. Wyatt said that whoever won the match should be ready to run, suggesting that the winner would be facing Wyatt at some point in the future. Neither Lashley nor Lesnar have ever faced Wyatt in a singles match. This could be interesting. Check out the comments, plus who Wyatt is comi..
A knockoff of a parody? Theme music is one of the most important parts of a wrestler’s presentation. Hearing the right kind of music playing to signal a wrestler’s entrance is the right way to put people in the mood for what they are about to see. Getting it right is a very tricky thing to do but when it works, it works very well. Now we are seeing….oh you’ll just have to watch it for yourself. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: On Paper: What The Contract From Brock Lesnar And Bobby Lashley’s Signing Said Back in 1992, Shawn Michaels began using “Sexy Boy” as his theme music. The song, albeit with Michaels singing the vocals instead, has been his entrance song for over thirty years and still is for his sporadic appearances to this day. During Michaels’ 2005 feud with Kurt Angle, Angle performed his own version called “Sexy Kurt”. Angle has shared a video of Mick Foley, standing next to Lita, singing “Sexy Kurt” at an unidentified event. Foley sings the song along with some fans in front of a di..
Make sure you read the fine print. There are certain segments that you will see used over and over again to build up matches. These things have been used for years to set up matches, some of which are used a lot more often than others. Several of them are used by WWE to this day and now we know a lot more about the very specific details about a popular one. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: DIG IT! Randy Savage’s Rap Album (Yes That One) Is Coming Back In A Special Way This week’s Monday Night Raw saw a contract signing between Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley for their Elimination Chamber match. Lesnar had already signed the contract coming in and, after a brawl between the two, Lashley signed the contract as well. The contract could be seen on the show and, according to Fightful Select, this is what the contract said: February 13th, 2023 To whom it may concern, This document shall serve as a legal and binding agreement amongst all parties scheduled for the Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley Match..
They’re running out of time. With about a month and a half to go before WrestleMania 39, WWE has already started setting up the card for the show. There are a few matches already set but there are still some things that need to be established. This is also the first WrestleMania under the new regime and now it seems that the change is going to result in a different kind of show. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Brock Lesnar Messes With A Kid On Monday Night Raw According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has not made any changes to the WrestleMania card in the last month and no major changes are expected to be made. This includes Sami Zayn not being inserted into the World Title match. This is different from previous editions of the show, which saw all kinds of changes to the show all the way up until the last minute. There have been some great WrestleMania moments over the years. Check out some of the better ones: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contain..
That wasn’t nice. Wrestlers have quite the difficult job, as they are required to make fans either love or hate them while realizing that what they are seeing might not be on the up and up. That is a tricky situation, but there are ways that villains can do various evil things which will drive fans crazy. That was the case this week at Monday Night Raw, but things were a little backwards. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: They Are? Major Change On The Usos’ Elimination Chamber Status During his most recent run with WWE, Brock Lesnar has been a babyface for an extended period of time in several years. This has included wearing a cowboy hat and speaking to the fans when he comes to the ring. A clip from this week’s Monday Night Raw has made its way to Twitter, showing Lesnar putting his hat on a young fan and then taking it back. This aired during Lesnar’s entrance on the television broadcast. He might need some work. Check out Lesnar messing with a kid and his recent efforts: [This post contai..
Monday Night Raw Date: February 13, 2023 Location: Barclays Center, New York City, New York Commentators: Corey Graves, Kevin Patrick It is the go home show for the Elimination Chamber and that means we need to finalize everything for the red half of the event. We should be in for some hard pushes, including the contract signing between Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar. There is also the Lita return last week to deal with so let’s get to it. Here is Becky Lynch, with Adam Pearce, for a chat. Becky is happy to be here and says she even dressed spiffy for us. She thanks Lita for her help last week but realizes that she needs a path to Wrestlemania. That sounds like something to do with a title to her, so she wants in the Elimination Chamber. Cue Bayley, who says she should be in the Chamber, because Lita CHEATED last week. That match should be stricken from the record book, which sends Bayley and Becky into an argument over Wrestlemania credentials. Bayley says Becky lost in her Wrestle..
