Elimination Chamber 2020 Live Coverage And Results

March 8, 2020 • Admin

Elimination Chamber 2020 Date: March 8, 2020 Location: Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Jerry Lawler, Byron Saxton, Tom Phillips It’s time for the show the company mostly forgot until the last second. Thanks to being sandwiched between Super ShowDown and Wrestlemania, this is a show that has received very little attention and the build has suffered as a result. Neither World Champion is involved here and the likely main event is a #1 contenders match to the Raw Women’s Title. Let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Viking Raiders vs. Zack Ryder/Curt Hawkins Ryder and Ivar start things off and it’s an early power display from Ivar, who throws Ryder all over the place. Hawkins comes in and gets the same treatment but a cheap shot from the apron lets Hawkins grab a suplex for two. Hawkins’ neckbreaker gets the same and we hit the chinlock. That doesn’t last long so Erik gets sent outside for a clothesline from the apron and we take a break..

Scott Steiner Health Update

March 8, 2020 • Admin

That’s some good news. You never know when you might see a wrestler in the ring for the last time. They might leave a promotion for a variety of reasons, but even worse, they might have some sort of a medical situation that takes them out of the ring before they are ready. That is something that can happen to anyone and such a situation might have taken place on Friday. On Friday night, Scott Steiner collapsed at an Impact Wrestling taping and was rushed to the hospital. It was not clear what had happened but something was obviously very wrong. The question became what would happen next and while we did get an update on his condition Friday night/Saturday morning, his future was not clear. We now have an idea of what is next for Steiner. On Saturday, both Steiner’s wife and Tommy Dreamer sent out updates on Twitter, saying that Steiner was expected to make a complete recovery. Also, according to PWInsider.com, Steiner was in stable condition on Saturday and was undergoing a heart pro..

WWE Facing Class Action Lawsuit Over Stock Value

March 8, 2020 • Admin

That’s never a good thing. Whether you like them or not, WWE is the biggest and most financially successful wrestling company the industry has ever seen. They can do almost anything they want because of the amount of money that they have, but that does not make them invincible. Occasionally they will have some setbacks, and one of them might come from an important group of people. WWE’s stock has taken some major hits over the last few weeks and the general state of the stock market has made things even worse. The company has lost a ton of money in recent weeks and there is no indication that they are going to be able to turn it around in a hurry. Some people are not happy with the situation and as is so often the case, that means legal action. According to Businesswire.com, the California law firm of Robbins, Geller, Rudman and Dowd LLP have filed a class action lawsuit against WWE on behalf of stockholders who purchased stock from February 7, 2019 – February 5, 2020. The basis of t..

Popular Impact Wrestling Star Becomes Free Agent

March 8, 2020 • Admin

She might have some su-itors, like in Impact Wrestling. Women’s wrestling has come so far in the last few years that it is almost impossible to fathom. The days of women as novelty acts who go out there for the sake of being eye candy are long gone and that is the kind of thing that is going to help move wrestling forward. It has also opened the door for several women’s divisions who never had the chance before. Now one of the more talented wrestlers in the world could be up for grabs. The Impact Wrestling Knockouts division has been one of the high points of women’s wrestling before the WWE Women’s Revolution. Led by the likes of Gail Kim and Awesome Kong, the division was the first mainstream promotion to take women’s wrestling seriously. It is still a big deal in the promotion, but they may be about to lose one of their more unique talents. Earlier this week, Su Yung sent out a series of nine tweets that spelled out the words “free agent”, suggesting that her contract with Impact ..

Could Matt Hardy’s Broken Universe Make NXT Debut?

March 8, 2020 • Admin

That’s one way to go for Hardy. There are a lot of people under the WWE umbrella and that is going to make it difficult to find something for all of them to do. NXT alone has a ton of people and since so many of them are new to the bigger stage, a lot of them might not have any kind of established gimmick or character. It can be hard to figure out something for everyone and WWE may have missed a big chance. Back in 2016, Matt Hardy debuted the Broken character and reached a level that almost no one could have imagined he had in him. The story and characters were so over the top and insane that you could ignore a lot of their flaws, which made for some amazing moments. Now that being said, it would have taken a lot to make it work in WWE, but it turns out that WWE was interested in trying. Hardy was interviewed by PW Insider Elite Audio and revealed that part of an offer for him to move to NXT would have involved leading a Woken (the WWE version of the Broken character) stable. The id..

Elimination Chamber 2020 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

March 8, 2020 • Admin

We had to get through this one sooner or later. WWE can only do so many things at once and that has not been so clear in a long time. Just ten days ago, they were trying to build towards three shows at the same time and since one of them was in Saudi Arabia and the other one was Wrestlemania, Elimination Chamber was lost in the shuffle. Throw in the fact that the likely main event is designed to crown a pretty obvious #1 contender for the Raw Women’s Title and this show might not be the most appealing. Let’s get to it. Smackdown Tag Team Titles: Elimination Chamber Miz and John Morrison are defending and in this case, that’s not a great thing for them. They won the titles a mere nine days ago and have already lost twice, because in WWE’s mind, that makes them tougher or something. Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler won a gauntlet match (because we can’t say Tag Team Turmoil anymore for whatever reason) to earn the right to enter last, as the best way to build up a six team elimination mat..

Why Was Nick Jackson Not at AEW Dynamite This Week?

March 8, 2020 • Admin

He gets a pass. One of the most exciting parts of AEW is the presence of the Elite, which includes The Young Bucks. Nick and Matt Jackson are two of the most talented wrestlers in the world, however, fans noticed that Nick was missing from Dynamite this week. Why was that the case? According to the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Nick Jackson’s wife is about to give birth to the couple’s third child. As a result, he was not on television and won’t be back until she gives birth. He was written off of television at their recent “Revolution” pay-per-view, as AEW has said that he was injured. However, the tag team match with The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega & “Hangman” Adam Page was going to be his last until his wife has given birth. Check out the Young Bucks in action: We at Wrestling Rumors send our congratulations to the Jackson family as they prepare to welcome their new bundle of joy into the world! Are you a fan of the Young Bucks, Matt and Nick Jackson? Leav..

Impact Wrestling Results – March 3, 2020

March 8, 2020 • Admin

Impact Wrestling Date: March 3, 2020 Location: Sam’s Town Live, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Don Callis, Josh Matthews Things are moving around here as of late with Taya Valkyrie coming after Tessa Blanchard and the World Title. That’s a different way to go and I’m not sure how it is going to go. Other than that, we have the continuation of the bizarre feud between Su Yung and the forces of….the real world? Maybe? Let’s get to it. We open with a Nashville Strong graphic. Opening recap, entirely on Taya vs. Tessa. Opening sequence. The North vs. TJP/Fallah Bahh Non-title. Alexander and Bahh start things off but Page comes in as well, only to have Bahh clothesline both champs down. Page rocks Bahh with a right hand but he’s fine enough to slam Alexander anyway. A cheap shot from behind puts TJP in trouble though and Alexander rakes the eyes to really take over. Page runs him over again and goes to yell at Bahh, followed by the delayed vertical suplex, with the handoff. We hit th..

Fans Vote at the SmackDown Women’s Championship Match for WrestleMania 36

March 8, 2020 • Admin

After a heel turn in September for the first time in her WWE career, Bayley was able to regain the SmackDown Women’s Championship from Charlotte Flair, commencing her second title reign. Since then, Bayley has been champion for five months, and holds the longest reign in the history of the championship. Since her second title reign, Bayley has went through the gamut of women’s wrestlers, dominating the division. Bayley has been able to rack up wins over the past few months against names such as Nikki Cross, Dana Brooke, Lacey Evans, Carmella, and most recently – at Super ShowDown – Naomi. With an impressive list of wins, there looks to be no one else who could compete against her. Or, is there? Who should face #TheBoss @SashaBanksWWE at #WrestleMania 36? pic.twitter.com/baGtVk5GZ3 — WWE (@WWEIndia) March 7, 2020 The official WWE India Twitter page created a post of who Sasha Banks should compete against at WrestleMania 36. While names such as Bianca Belair, Io Shirai, and even Lita..

VIDEO: Two Top Stars Face Off After SmackDown

March 7, 2020 • Admin

That’s how you end a night. There are a lot of wrestlers on the WWE roster and that means it can be difficult to get them all on television in a given week. Even though there are several television shows and rosters available, there are only so many spots to put all of the wrestlers in. Sometimes WWE can add in a few extra spots before or after a show and that is what they did with two of their biggest names this week. There are very few names in WWE more popular than Daniel Bryan. Over the years, he has built up a reputation as one of the most talented in-ring performers of all time while also coming off like a person you could get to know in the real world. That makes him easy to cheer for, especially when he’s a big underdog. That was the case after this week’s SmackDown went off the air. This week’s SmackDown post show dark match saw the Fiend defeat Bryan in a singles match with Sister Abigail after countering the running knee into the Mandible Claw. Bryan and the Fiend feuded f..

REVIEW: Starrcade 2000: Scott Steiner Is A Scary Man

March 7, 2020 • Admin

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net, starting today. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Starrcade 2000 Date: December 17, 2000 Location: MCI Center, Washington, D.C. Attendance: 6,596 Commentators: Tony Schiavone, Mark Madden, Scott Hudson We’ve uh…..arrived. It’s the final edition of WCW’s flagship show and it’s looking somewhere between a bad C show and a horribly unfunny joke. The main event is Scott Steiner (won the title three weeks ago) defending against Sid Vicious (not in the promotion three weeks ago). Such is life in the dying days of this company. Let’s get to it. Before we s..

New Grudge Match Added To Elimination Chamber Card

March 7, 2020 • Admin

There’s still time for more. You might have forgotten about it, but we are less than two days away from Elimination Chamber. The show has not exactly had the strongest build in the world, mainly because for a time, it was one of three shows that WWE was building towards at the same time. That hasn’t turned out very well so far, as WWE is still putting the show together at the last minute. Over the last few weeks, Daniel Bryan has been working with some people not quite on his level. This has included Heath Slater and Curtis Axel, but the main person seems to be Drew Gulak. The story has allowed some people to get on television for a change and that is a good thing for them. There needs to be something that comes out of it though, and we will be seeing that on Sunday. This week on SmackDown, Gulak was explaining to Drake Maverick that he knew Bryan’s weaknesses. Bryan came up and challenged Gulak to a match at Elimination Chamber. Later in the night, Gulak accepted the challenge on hi..

SmackDown Main Event Changes Elimination Chamber Match

March 7, 2020 • Admin

It’s an advantage. We are less than two days away from Elimination Chamber and the show is still being put together. With so little time left, you would think that WWE would have the show planned out further than they do, but that is not the case so far. There are several more details to be figured out, and one of those things was taken care of this week on SmackDown. As you might have guessed, the Elimination Chamber pay per view will be built around the Elimination Chamber matches. The match is one of the biggest and most intense matches that WWE offers and this year, there are going to be two of them. Since the match is built around surviving until the end, it would be quite the advantage to come in last. Someone earned that honor this week. The main event of this week’s SmackDown saw Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler win a six team gauntlet match. This win earned them the right to enter the Elimination Chamber match for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles last. Roode and Ziggler, former R..

Vince McMahon Unimpressed By New Monday Night Raw Star

March 7, 2020 • Admin

Maybe he’ll change his mind. We are currently less than a month away from WrestleMania 36 and that means things should be set in stone, or at least already decided on the road to Tampa. With so little time left, we have reached the point where we need to get things set up and then built into WrestleMania quality feuds. That’s the tricky part, and Vince McMahon isn’t pleased with one of the efforts. One of the biggest matches that has yet to be advertised for WrestleMania but seems to be almost a sure thing is Becky Lynch defending the Raw Women’s Title against Shayna Baszler. The two were ready to go to battle just before Survivor Series and then did so at the pay per view, albeit in a triple threat match. Baszler will have her chance to become #1 contender at Elimination Chamber, but there might be something holding her back. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince McMahon has not been pleased with Baszler’s performances on the main roster so far. The main problem came..

BREAKING: Scott Steiner Collapses At TV Tapings, Rushed To Hospital

March 7, 2020 • Admin

First and foremost, let me make it clear that things seem to be ok. That’s a scary situation. Wrestlers are a weird cross between some of the most unique people in the world and normal people like you and I. There are going to be good days and bad days, but at the end of the day, their health is what matters most. Some wrestlers are in better shape than others, but on occasion bad things can happen out of nowhere, which was the case this week. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com, Scott Steiner collapsed at Friday night’s Impact Wrestling tapings and was rushed to the hospital. Steiner was filming a backstage segment when he collapsed, though it is not clear what happened. Since then, both Scott D’Amore and Tommy Dreamer have tweeted from the hospital, saying that Steiner was “doing well” and “is ok”. Steiner was taking part in a TNA themed episode of Impact Wrestling and is scheduled to be part of the TNA themed event over WrestleMania weekend. Things are looking rough for S..

Will Seth Rollins and Murphy Continue to Be a Tag Team After WrestleMania 36?

March 7, 2020 • Admin

On a previous episode of Raw, Seth Rollins and Murphy lost their Tag Team Championships to the Street Profits, due to Kevin Owens delivering a Stunner to Rollins. This led to Montez Ford performing his Frog Splash on Rollins, and pinning him for the win. The feud between Owens and Rollins have been going on for quite some time. In fact, Rollins’ feud with Owens actually led Rollins to turn heel, although Rollins’ heel turn was also prompted by the fans turning on him during his feud with The Fiend Bray Wyatt. Now, Rollins leads a stable, which also includes Murphy and the AOP. Owens contributing to Rollins & Murphy’s loss increases the rumors that the two will be competing against each other at WrestleMania 36. However, where does this leave Rollins’ tag team with Murphy? According to The Citizens Voice, Rollins & Murphy are scheduled to compete in a tag team match against The Street Profits. This will be at the Mohegan Sun Arena on May, 11, over a month after WrestleMania. At Elim..

AJ Styles Receives Prestigious Wrestling Award

March 7, 2020 • Admin

Who else would it be? It might be a few months into the new decade, but there is still time for a few more accolades over the last ten years. There are a lot of awards to consider and a lot of organizations have a lot of things to say about wrestling. This includes arguably the most prestigious award of all over this span of time: Wrestler of the Decade. Now we know one of the biggest winners. Wrestling magazines used to be the go to source for wrestling information. There were all kinds of magazines out there and while some of them were a little more accurate than others, they were the most important form of journalism in the wrestling world. They have gone downhill since the rise of the internet, but there are a few left, with one of them having quite an important award of its own. Pro Wrestling Illustrated has named AJ Styles its Wrestler of the Decade for the 2010s. Styles wrestled around the world over the last decade, winning World Titles in Impact Wrestling, New Japan and WWE,..

Edge Set For Monday Night Raw Return

March 7, 2020 • Admin

It’s about that time. Earlier this year at the Royal Rumble, Edge made his shocking return to the ring. It took almost nine years for him to get back to WWE and it was one of the biggest surprises that WWE has presented in years. The return made it clear that he would be doing a lot more for WWE in the future but things were a little derailed again. Now, we might know his next step. The night after the Royal Rumble, Randy Orton attacked Edge and put him back on the shelf with a Conchairto. Orton would eventually explain that he attack Edge to prevent Edge from making the same mistakes that Orton had. This was capped off by an RKO to Edge’s wife Beth Phoenix, which meant it was time for some revenge. Now we know when Edge might start getting back at Orton. WWE.com has announced that Edge will be back on Monday Night Raw on the March 9 edition. This will be Edge’s first appearance on the show since January 27. There is no word on what Edge will do on the show, though he has been rumore..

We hear about this year’s class and, after calling out the Kabuki Warriors for a Women’s Tag Team Title match, bring out the NWO (Sean Waltman, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall this time) for a chat. Nikki says that she’s been a big NWO fan for life and takes a picture with the three of them. Bliss what they should call Waltman, who says “Hall of Fa..

The tournament is coming up as well so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Sean Mooney previews the show, including two title matches.
