205 Live Results – December 17, 2021

December 28, 2021 • Admin

205 Live Date: December 17, 2021 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Vic Joseph It’s almost the holiday season and the show continues to seem done with the cruiserweight theme. That doesn’t seem to mean much around here, but it means we’re stuck with some less than interesting matches from the NXT undercard. At least the main events tend to go well. Let’s get to it. Lash Legend vs. Sarray Legend runs her over to start but Sarray bridges out of a cover in a hurry. Back up and Sarry fires off some running forearms until a faceplant cuts her off. An elbow gives Lash two and a powerslam is good for the same. Legend misses another elbow though and Sarray fires off more forearms. They get back up and Sarray charges into….I think it was supposed to be a front facelock but Legend spun her over into what wound up being a powerslam instead. Sarray hits a middle rope dropkick for two of her own but misses a running clothesline. They trade rollup..

REVIEW: Starrcade 1997: The Night WCW Fell

December 28, 2021 • Admin

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Starrcade 1997 Date: December 28, 1997 Location: MCI Center, Washington, D.C. Attendance: 17,500 Commentators: Eric Bischoff, Dusty Rhodes, Mike Tenay Tonight is WCW’s night. After a year and a half of being dominated by the NWO, tonight is the night that WCW stands up and says this is our company and you’re not taking us over. WCW has its warrior in Sting and there is no way that Hogan can stop him. Hogan has been running scared of Sting for months and tonight he’s out of places to hide. This is WCW’s night. Let’..

Several Top WWE Names Not Present At Monday Night Raw

December 28, 2021 • Admin

Maybe it was for the better. There have been a good number of complaints about WWE TV in recent months and years. A good many of them are focused in the same areas and have to do with the way the show is presented. It doesn’t help when it is a similar style every week, but this time around we got a bit of a change of pace. There is a pretty big reason for the change. According to PWInsider.com, Vince McMahon, Bruce Prichard, Kevin Dunn, Michael Hayes and Adam Pearce were all missing backstage from this week’s Monday Night Raw. There is no word on why they were not at the show and nothing to suggest that they have tested positive for the Coronavirus. With the group being gone, the show was run by John Laurinaitis and Ed Koskey. There is no word on when everyone will be back. That is a lot of people missing. Check out what they can do when they are around: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] ..

Another WWE Name Officially Leaving Company

December 28, 2021 • Admin

It isn’t for everyone. There are a lot of roles in WWE and some of them are not the kind that take place in front of the camera. In addition to all of the wrestlers, there are some people, often forme wrestlers themselves, whose job is to help the talent get ready for the show. Now though, one of these ex-wrestlers seems to be on his way out of the company again. According to PWInsider.com, former WWE star James Yun, better known as Jimmy Wang Yang, has left his role as a backstage producer in WWE. Yun has decided that the position is not for him, following a tryout period which began in October. There is nothing to suggest that there is any bad blood between the two sides. Yun wrestled for the company in multiple stints, with his most recent WWE match taking place in 2010. Yun had a pretty long career in WWE. Check out some of his time there: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: ..

WWE Star Teases Return Following Adorable Fan Video

December 28, 2021 • Admin

Welcome back soon? It can be rather sad to see a wrestler leave WWE, but it can be even better to see them come back. Sometimes a wrestler has to go away for a little while due to one reason or another, with some of those reasons being more serious than others. This time around, a departure was for something rather positive, and now we might be ready to see them again. Lacey Evans has been missing from WWE television since February 15, when she announced that she was pregnant. Evans has since gone on to give birth in October and is preparing for a return to WWE. A fan recently tweeted out a video of her daughter receiving an Evans action figure. Evans responded to the video, saying that she will be returning soon, though no date was given. This is rather sweet. Check out the video, plus Evans in WWE: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: That is one of the sweeter things I have seen..

WWE Makes Bizarre Match Change During Monday Night Raw Commercial

December 28, 2021 • Admin

And so much for that. There are a lot of criticisms about modern WWE and one of the biggest is that they do not seem to have a plan for a lot of things. That can create some serious issues, as you can feel like you don’t know what to expect day to day. Some of these things are more serious than others, but one played out in front of the audience this week on WWE TV. This week’s Monday Night Raw featured an in-ring promo between AJ Styles and Grayson Waller. Apollo Crews ultimately interrupted, saying that since Styles’ original opponent, Omos, was not present, Styles could face Commander Azeez instead. Following a commercial break, Crews faced Styles instead, with the explanation being that Crews wanted to give Azeez the night off. Following Styles’ victory over Crews, Azeez came in but was taken out by Styles as well. There is no word on why WWE changed the match so soon after making it in the first place. It was a weird way to go. Check out how the match went, plus what Styles coul..

WATCH: NXT Star Makes Comes To Monday Night Raw

December 28, 2021 • Admin

Short term promotion? The wrestling world is in a weird time, due to a mixture of WWE’s huge set of changes along with the Coronavirus pandemic. WWE has let all kinds of wrestlers go and completely changed the way NXT works, leaving them without much of a developmental bench. One of those wrestlers did make an appearance on the big show this week though, and it was a bit of a surprise. This week’s edition of Monday Night Raw was scheduled to include a match between AJ Styles and Omos. However, Omos did not appear on the show for an unexplained reason, leaving Styles with no match. Styles was in the ring speaking when he noticed NXT’s Grayson Waller in the front row. The two spoke in the ring before Apollo Crews appeared and was defeated by Styles. This comes after Styles came to NXT last week to confront Waller of comments he made about Styles. No match has been announced between the two and there is nothing to suggest this is more than a one off appearance. Waller has made an impact..

VIDEO: WWE Hall Of Famer Makes Surprise Monday Night Raw Appearance

December 28, 2021 • Admin

Back and better than ever? There are certain names in wrestling with such a reputation that just hearing their name brings up certain memories. Some of these are more positive than others, but they certainly have an impact. As a result, you will see them pop up every so often, which was the case again this week with a legend who has had his share of television time over the years. This week’s Monday Night Raw featured the renewal of Miz and Maryse’s wedding vows. Miz had promised a special guest to preside over the vows, which wound up being WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff. The ceremony ended with Edge making an appearance and giving all three a bloodbath to end the show. Bischoff has made cameo appearances in WWE for years, along with appearing in AEW last year. Bischoff had a busy night. Check out what he did this week, and his other wedding appearance: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play]..

New Title Match Set For WWE Day One Pay Per View

December 28, 2021 • Admin

Add it up. We are less than a week away from WWE Day One as the company is wanting to open the new year in a big way. That is a different way to go for January and most of the card is already set. There is always room for something more o the show though, including another title match. That is the case this week, as a new title match has been added to the pay per view. A new title match was added to WWE Day One during this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw. The show featured the Street Profits defeating the Mysterios to win the RKBronament to become the new #1 contenders to RKBro and the Raw Tag Team Titles. The teams have fought before, wrestling to a no contest in a non-title match during the October 18 Monday Night Raw. This could be a good one. Check out the teams in action, both apart and together: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is a good thing to see, as I was al..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – December 27, 2021

December 28, 2021 • Admin

Monday Night Raw Date: December 27, 2021 Location: Little Caesars Arena, Detroit, Michigan Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton It’s the final show of the year and that means it’s also the go home show for Day One. There are a few big stories this week, including the renewal of Miz and Maryse’s wedding vows, but we also get to find out how the Coronavirus outbreak has impacted the roster. Let’s get to it. Here is RKBro for a chat. Riddle, in a party hat, talks about how the team had a good year but Randy Orton won’t read a Christmas card. Orton wants to beat Otis right now to make sure he has a good new year, but Riddle wants to look forward to the future. Next year could see them patent Brogurt! Last week Riddle was thinking about the future and thought he turned into a viper but Orton doesn’t want to hear about it. Instead he asks to see a clip from last week, which has Riddle wondering what Orton means by “production truck”. Anyway, Otis might be non-RKOable, so ..

Impact Wrestling Results – December 23, 2021

December 27, 2021 • Admin

Impact Wrestling Date: December 23, 2021 Hosts: Josh Matthews, Scott D’Amore We’ve reached a holiday weekend and that means it is time for a special show. In other words, Impact is putting the brakes on the build to Hard To Kill and showcasing the Best of 2021 instead, which should make for a good night. The company has been doing well this year and they have some solid stuff to pick from, so let’s get to it. Of note: if a match is included, I’ll posting the full version rather than a clipped version. Opening sequence. From Hard To Kill. Kenny Omega/Good Brothers vs. Rich Swann/Moose/Chris Sabin Don Callis is here too and handles Omega’s entrance (which Striker says is a moment fans will be telling their children about). Anderson drives Sabin into the corner to start and a shot to the face has Sabin in some trouble. An armdrag gets him right back out though and we have a standoff. Moose and Gallows get in for the big man showdown with Moose knocking him around. Omega comes in, wi..

WWE Dramatically Changes Coronavirus Testing Policy

December 27, 2021 • Admin

That’s one way to fix things. The Coronavirus pandemic has hit the wrestling world all over again and things are already starting to look bad. This weekend’s WWE live events were overhauled due to several names being pulled from the shows. There is a good chance that will continue going forward, and now WWE has changed one of their policies to make things a lot easier on themselves. According to Fightful Select, WWE has informed the Performance Center talent that they are no longer required to be tested twice weekly for the Coronavirus. Main roster talent has also been informed that regular testing will not be required either. There is no word on if a vaccination made a difference in the company’s decision. The roster is said to not be happy with the decision, as their numbers are already depleted as it is. There are going to be more stars on WWE TV again. Check out some of WWE’s bigger stars in action over the years: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains v..

Impact Wrestling Results – December 16, 2021

December 27, 2021 • Admin

Impact Wrestling Date: December 16, 2021 Location: Sam’s Town Live, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Matt Striker, D’Lo Brown We’re on the way to Hard To Kill and the card is starting to take shape. That means we should have some good stuff coming up in the next few weeks, as Impact can give us some nice final pushes into major shows. Matt Cardona is still building momentum on the way to the biggest match of his career and that could continue this week. Let’s get to it. In Memory of Jimmy Rave. Opening recap looks at last week’s main event, with W. Morrissey’s temper costing him a chance to get Matt Cardona out of the Hard To Kill main event. Opening sequence. Rohit Raju vs. Josh Alexander Raj Singh is here with Raju. A single right hand annoys Alexander so Raju is already hiding in the ropes. That earns him a hiptoss out of the corner as Alexander’s bad ribs don’t seem to be bothering him to start. They head outside with Alexander taking out Singh but getting said ribs driven into..

WATCH: Wrestling World Pays Tribute To Brodie Lee On Anniversary Of His Death

December 27, 2021 • Admin

He’s worth it. There are certain wrestlers who make a special impact on the industry and you can instantly feel it. Some of them might have a more direct connection, while some are not entirely felt until they are gone. That was the case with one of the bigger unsung stars in wrestling last year, and now the wrestling community is remembering him a year after he left us. Jon Huber, better known as Brodie Lee in AEW, passed away on December 26, 2020 at age 41. The death was a surprise to wrestling fans and is still felt throughout AEW to this day. Top WWE Star Possibly Reveals He Has Coronavirus

December 27, 2021 • Admin

The big announcement. The Coronavirus pandemic has come back with the rise of the new omicron variant and there is no way of knowing just how far everything is going to go. There has been another spike in cases and it could be a long time before things are back to normal. That is the case in WWE as well, as a top star in the company seems to have contracted the virus. WWE’s Seth Rollins has sent out a tweet saying “Merry Covid Christmas!”, suggesting that he has contracted the virus. Rollins did not appear at this weekend’s WWE live event in York City and it is not clear when he will be returning to WWE television. Rollins did not specifically say that he had tested positive, meaning he could have only come into contact with someone who had the virus instead. Merry Covid Christmas to me!!!! I LOVE FOOTBALL!!! — Seth Rollins (@WWERollins) December 27, 2021 Rollins is still a top star in WWE. Check out what he can do when he is around: [This post contains video, click to play] [Th..

December 27, 2021 • Admin

Shake it up a little. The Coronavirus pandemic is back in force and now it is coming after the wrestling industry again. WWE Using NXT Stars At Live Events Due To Coronavirus Issues

December 27, 2021 • Admin

That’s how they’re dealing with things. The Coronavirus is hitting the wrestling world all over again and there is nothing to suggest that it is going away anytime soon. This can cause a heck of a lot of problems in a hurry and that is the case with WWE. The company has a lot of resources available though, and now they are going to have to use some more to their advantage. WWE is holding its annual post Christmas live event at Madison Square Garden in New York City this weekend and a surprise match has been announced. The Garden’s Twitter account has announced that NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa will be defending his title against Pete Dunne. According to PWInsider.com, the match is also being added to this week’s Monday Night Raw live events in an effort to make up for some of the wrestlers taken off the shows due to Coronavirus issues.
