Here’s What’s Next For Brock Lesnar And The WWE Title

That’s up next. With about three months to go before WrestleMania 38, it is time for WWE to start getting things ready for the biggest show of the year. That can make for some tricky decisions, as the show needs to be as good as it possibly can. This includes making the right decisions when it comes to title matches, and now we might have an idea of the next turn that will be taken. Brock Lesnar won the WWE Title at Day One, winning a fatal five way match also involving Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley and Big E. Lesnar and Lashley interacted during the match, with Lashley spearing him through the barricade and putting him in the Hurt Lock. According to F4WOnline.com, the plan is to have Lashley be the first challenger to Lesnar’s title, though there is no word on when the match might take place. This could be a fight. Check out the two in action together and apart: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains vi..

AEW Wrestlers Respond To Tony Khan’s Controversial Comments

It was going to get people talking. AEW has been a complete game changer in the wrestling world and that has been a good thing. The company is led by President Tony Khan, who has been a force in wrestling since he entered the industry. However, like everyone else, Khan is going to have some controversial moments. That was the case last week and now we are seeing the response. Late last week, former AEW star Big Swole spoke about some of her issues with the company on her Swole Nation podcast. Several over her comments criticized AEW’s lack of diversity in management positions and in prominent roles on television. Khan responded, listing off people of color in the company and saying that he let Swole go because he did not think her wrestling abilities were good enough. Several AEW wrestlers have since responded, with a mixture of positive and negative reactions. Here are some of the responses to Khan’s comments, including Lio Rush, who has since had a conversation with Khan: If nobody..

Jon Moxley’s Return Match Seems To Be Set

Welcome back. Wrestling is in a different world in modern times, as there is more content available than ever before. A fan can see almost any wrestling from anywhere in the world and it is amazing to have so much out there. Above all else, it can be great to see something special, and now we are going to be seeing something that is more important than most regular matches. Back in November, AEW’s Jon Moxley entered a rehabilitation center for issues with alcohol abuse and has not appeared for any wrestling promotion since. Over the weekend, Homicide won the Game Changer Wrestling Do Or Die Rumble, earning a GCW World Title shot against Moxley. Game Changer Wrestling has since announced that the match will take place on January 23 in New York City. There is no word on when he will be returning to AEW. It will be great to have Moxley back. Sasha Banks Suffers Leg Injury At WWE Live Event, Match Stopped

That doesn’t sound good. There are some very talented wrestlers in the world today but unfortunately they are all susceptible to getting hurt. No matter how talented or skilled they may be, there is the chance that someone could get injured at any given time. Unfortunately that seems to be the case again with one of the higher profile names on SmackDown. According to PWInsider.com, Sasha Banks may have been injured during a match against Charlotte at a live event on Sunday. Banks was taking a backbreaker but planted her leg wrong, seemingly injuring her leg or knee. She was able to kick out of a cover, but was unable to get to her feet and the match was stopped as a result. There is no word on the specifics of Banks’ injury or how long she could be out of action. Losing Banks would be a big hit for WWE. Interesting Graphic Shows The Most Active WWE Wrestlers Of 2021

He did a lot. There are certain wrestlers who are more active than others and it can often be a great thing to see. Those wrestlers are allowed to get in the ring more often because they are that good and are willing to put in the effort. As a result, they deserve the extra credit and attention, and that is what one of the bigger stars in wrestling is receiving after the end of the year. The WWE On BT Sports Twitter account has released a graphic showing that Drew McIntyre wrestled the most WWE matches in 2021. McIntyre wrestled 95 matches, with a record of 73-19-3, beating the second place wrestler, Bianca Belair, who wrestled 82 matches. McIntyre began the year as WWE Champion before losing it to Miz via Money in the Bank cash-in. He is also currently out of action with a neck injury. Need someone to open the show? Drew Need someone to wrestle in the main event? Drew Need someone to wrestle for 25 minutes? Drew Need someone to wrestle a tag match? Drew Need someone to do media?..

WWE Has A New Buzzword And It Sounds A Little Weird

There’s a new name for that. WWE has a lot of things that leave fans a bit confused, and one of them tends to be the company’s obsession with naming everything. Over the years, WWE has renamed all kinds of things from wrestlers to shows to hospitals and more. Now they have another idea that they are moving forward with, and they are not exactly being subtle about it. Earlier this weekend, WWE presented the first ever Day One event on January 1. Several times during the broadcast, the commentary team referred to the show as a “premium live event”. The term was also shown on a graphic for the Royal Rumble. It seems that the term has replaced “pay per view” as the term for the company’s major events. There is no word on why the change was made. WWE has had some big events in the past. LOOK: Nasty Injury Takes Place During WWE Day One (Slightly Graphic)

It can happen to anyone. There are all kinds of injuries in the wrestling world and some of them can be a lot more intense than others. One of the biggest problems with dealing with injuries is that they could take place at any time. That means a simple fluke accident could take someone out, and unfortunately that was the case again this weekend as a WWE star got banged up pretty badly. The WWE Day One Kickoff Show featured a tag team match between Sheamus/Ridge Holland vs. Cesaro/Ricochet. Early in the match, Ricochet attempted a 450 splash but his boot accidentally smashed Holland in the face. Holland suffered a broken nose and left the match without returning. There is no word on how long Holland will be out or what kind of treatment he may need. Sheamus went on to win the match for his team. INJURY UPDATE: @RidgeWWE suffered a broken nose in his match tonight at #WWEDay1. pic.twitter.com/aseu3taTwG — WWE (@WWE) January 2, 2022 It was a nasty moment. Check out how the match went..

Top WWE Star To Miss Time With Neck Problems

It can happen to anyone. With so many wrestlers on the current WWE roster, there is bound to be an injury or two every so often. Some of these can be instantaneous while others can take time to build up. Neither is good to see, but the recovery is what matters most. Now another WWE star is injured and we do not exactly know how long he will be out. During this weekend’s WWE Day One event, Happy Corbin attacked Drew McIntyre, including wrapping a chair around McIntyre’s neck and crushing it. WWE has announced that McIntyre has suffered a cervical neck strain with contusions. There is no word on how long McIntyre will be out of action. According to PWInsider.com, the angle took place to write McIntyre off of television as he is suffering from legitimate neck issues. McIntyre is scheduled to undergo testing to find out what is wrong and how much time he will be missnig. INJURY UPDATE: @DMcIntyreWWE suffered a cervical neck strain with severe contusions. WWE Hall Of Famer Makes Surprise Return At Day One

Welcome back. There have been all kinds of wrestlers throughout the history of WWE that it is almost impossible to keep track of them all. Out of those wrestlers, there are some who stand out more than others and those are the wrestlers who are often remembered the most fondly. The best of those are enshrined in the WWE Hall of Fame, and now one of those wrestlers is back. Edge and Miz had a match at this weekend’s WWE Day One event. Miz’s wife Maryse interfered during the match, which drew out WWE Hall of Famer and Edge’s wife Beth Phoenix to chase Maryse off, allowing Edge to defeat Miz with a spear. This comes after Phoenix recently resigned from the NXT broadcast team. At the moment, there is no word on Phoenix returning to the ring. This could be a big one. Huge Title Change Takes Place At WWE Day One

History has been made! We are officially in the new year and now we only have a few more stops to go on the Road To WrestleMania 38. The show is in about three months and there are all kinds of things that need to be done to get things ready. One of the biggest is setting up the title matches, and now one of the biggest changes might have been set in motion. This weekend’s WWE Day One event featured a fatal five way main event with Brock Lesnar winning the WWE Title by pinning champion Big E. The match also included Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley. Lesnar was added to the match the night of the show after Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Lesnar’s original opponent, was forced out of the match due to testing positive for the Coronavirus. Lesnar could be a force. WWE Day One 2022 Live Coverage And Results

Day One 2022 Date: January 1, 2022 Location: State Farm Arena, Atlanta, Georgia Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee, Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton It’s the first show of the year and as interesting as that is, everything has changed at the very last minute. Universal Champion Roman Reigns has announced that he has tested positive for Coronavirus, meaning that he is out of his title defense against Brock Lesnar. Worry not though, as Lesnar is now in a five way for the WWE Title. Let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Ridge Holland/Sheamus vs. Cesaro/Ricochet Sheamus has called Holland the replacement for Cesaro in the Bar, while Ricochet eliminated Sheamus from a recent gauntlet match. Cesaro starts with Sheamus, who bails into the corner and brings Holland in. That’s fine with Cesaro, who hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, followed by assisting Ricochet for a flipping stomp to Holland. That looked BAD as Ricochet’s boot hit him right in the face. Sheamus comes back in for the Iri..

BREAKING: Roman Reigns Has Coronavirus, Off WWE Day One

It is always a risk. The Coronavirus pandemic has wrecked havoc on the wrestling world over the last year and a half, but things are starting to get back to normal. That being said, there is still the chance that something could go wrong and cause a wrestler to be infected no matter what. Unfortunately that seems to be the case again and it is happening at the very last minute. WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns has announced that he has tested positive for the Coronavirus, meaning that he is off this weekend’s WWE Day One pay per view. Reigns was scheduled to headline the event against Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title. WWE has announced that Lesnar has been added to the WWE Title match, making it a fatal five way. I yearn to perform tonight at #WWEDay1 to defend my Universal Championship. However, unfortunately, earlier today I tested positive for COVID-19. Due to the proper protocols I am unable to compete as originally scheduled. I look forward to returning to action as soon ..

It’s what you do at this time of year. We are finally into the start of 2022 and that can mean a lot of different things. In addition to looking forward, it can also mean a lot of looking back, including at the good things that happened in the previous year. VIDEO: We Might Have The First Royal Rumble Entrant (And It’s A Surprise)

The first of many. We are officially in the new year and that means a lot of things are changing in WWE. Later this month, we will officially be on the Road To WrestleMania, which will start at the Royal Rumble. The show will feature a pair of its namesake matches, with thirty men and thirty women will vie for a title shot at WrestleMania. That is a pretty special list, but now one name is taking up a spot. Jackass Forever star Johnny Knoxville has posted a video to his Instagram, announcing that he is entering the Royal Rumble. Knoxville said that he wants to start the new year fighting and says the best way is by getting involved in the match. He also said that there was no one who could throw him out of the ring, including Roman Reigns or Big E. Knoxville and the rest of the Jackass cast appeared on a recent episode of SmackDown to promote the film. There is no word on if Knoxville will actually be entering the match. It’s a surprising announcement. Check out what Knoxville said, ..

WWE Day One Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

We’ve got a new show this week and this time it is based around a new year. I’m not sure how interesting that is for a full pay per view, but WWE has set things up around flimsier premises before. The good thing is the card looks pretty solid and we could be in for a nice event. That is assuming the Coronavirus pandemic doesn’t wreck anything at the last minute. Let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Ricochet/Cesaro vs. Sheamus/Ridge Holland This was added earlier in the week and it sounds good on paper. If nothing else, it is nice to see Ricochet and Cesaro getting some kind of a spot, as they so often feel like people just there to fill in time on television when no one else is available. Sheamus and Holland could make for a nice mentor/mentee twist on the Bar, which seems to be the focal point of how we got here in the first place. The tag version of this: [This post contains video, click to play] As for the match, I can’t imagine Sheamus and Holland losing when they seem to be a bit of..

AEW Rampage Results – December 31, 2021

Rampage Date: December 31, 2021 Location: Daily’s Place, Jacksonville, Florida Commentators: Excalibur, Taz, Ricky Starks It’s the very last show of the year for any company, as this one is going all the way to an hour before the New Year on the east coast. There is a fairly big card tonight with an anything goes women’s tag and Cody Rhodes defending the TNT Title. That doesn’t sound too bad so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Anthony Bowens vs. Darby Allin Max Caster’s rap is about the booster shot and putting people away like Ghislaine Maxwell. Allin starts fast with an early rollup for two, sending Bowens bailing to the floor in a hurry. Back in and Allin ducks a clothesline and dropkicks Bowens right back to the floor. We take a break and come back with Bowens catching a splash in the corner but Allin grabs some rollups for two each anyway. Allin heads up for the Coffin Drop but gets knocked down, with his arm landing pretty hard. A twisting DDT out of the corner gives Bowens..

WWE’s Top Ten Moments Of 2021 Results

WWE’s Top Ten Moments Of 2021 Date: December 31, 2021 Hosts: Pat McAfee, Michael Cole, Becky Lynch It’s not exactly Smackdown but at least it’s a special show. As the title might suggest, this is a Top Ten special for the year, which has me wondering what WWE might count as best. They do know how to pull some good things out of the archives though and maybe they can do that again here. Let’s get to it. I’ll be posting the full versions of matches rather than the clipped editions. Cole and McAfee welcome us to the show and promise a big celebration. McAfee is starting big, by bringing out the third host: Becky Lynch. The champ is glad to be here and throws us to #10. From Summerslam. Raw Tag Team Titles: RKBro vs. Omos/AJ Styles RKBro is challenging after officially reuniting on Raw. Riddle goes after Omos to start and gets tossed down in a hurry as the strikes don’t work. The sleeper doesn’t do much either as Omos isn’t playing around here. AJ comes in and it’s time to kick away a..

REVIEW: Monday Night Raw – January 1, 2018: Feels Like It Was Just Four Years Ago

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Monday Night Raw Date: January 1, 2018 Location: American Airlines Arena, Miami, Florida Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Booker T. It’s a new year (yes it is) and that probably doesn’t mean much. We’ll be getting ready for the Royal Rumble in less than a month and tonight that includes an appearance by Brock Lesnar. Other than that we have Roman Reigns defending the Intercontinental Title against Samoa Joe and Cedric Alexander challenging Enzo Amore for the Cruiserweight Title. Let’s get to it. Alexa Bl..

Tony Khan Responds To Criticisms Of AEW’s Lack Of Diversity And Structure

That could have gone better. AEW has come a very long way in its short history and a lot of that is due to company President Tony Khan. Fans have been waiting a very long time for a huge wrestling fan with serious money to run their own promotion and now Khan is finally here to do just that. There are going to be some rocky points eventually though and that seems to be the case again. Former AEW star Big Swole discussed her time in the company during an episode of her Swole World podcast. Swole said that she left AEW at the end of November because her inner peace was being disturbed. Her heart was no longer in AEW and she felt that the company needed some more structure. This included wanting more time for women’s wrestling, saying that there was not enough television time to go around. Many wrestlers were getting short matches on Dark, which was not enough for some of them. She also mentioned that some wrestlers were not comfortable with writing their own material but there was no o..

Former WWE Star Braun Strowman Is Looking Very Different These Days

It’s one of the most important parts. Wrestlers have a difficult job in that they are required to get fans to stop and watch what they are doing. It might be a promo, a match or a segment on the show, but if a viewer does not stop and watch, the performance doesn’t matter. One way to get attention is by looking the right way, and one star has drastically changed their look. Former WWE Universal Champion Adam Scherr, better known as Braun Strowman, has dyed his beard blond in a change to his look. Scherr sent out the photo on Instagram, which also includes him signing an autograph for an alligator dressed as a character from Loki. Since leaving WWE earlier this year, Scherr has appeared for Ring of Honor. He has not yet publicly announced signing or agreeing to a deal with any promotion. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Adam Scherr (@adamscherr99) Scherr was a force with the old look. Check out his time in WWE: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post conta..
