NXT Live Coverage And Results – December 21, 2021

December 22, 2021 • Admin

NXT Date: December 21, 2021 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, London, England Commentators: Wade Barrett, Vic Joseph We’re coming up on the end of the year and that means New Year’s Evil is on the way soon. That means we will be seeing Bron Breakker vs. Tommaso Ciampa for the NXT Title. The match seemed to be set up last week and now we should be ready for the title match pretty soon. Oh and AJ Styles is here too so let’s get to it. Here is NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa to get things going. He knows that the title means that people are coming for you and that includes Bron Breakker. Last week he laid Breakker out and now it is time for Breakker to come out here and do something about it. Cue Breakker, but Ciampa cuts him off, saying Breakker is getting another shot when most people never get one. At Halloween Havoc, Ciampa showed the flaws in Breakker, who is not ready to be a champion around here. He won’t be like Sami Zayn, Samoa Joe, Shinsuke Nakamura, Finn Balor or Tommaso Ciamp..

Here Is How WWE And AEW Handle Positive Coronavirus Tests

December 21, 2021 • Admin

You need a plan. The Coronavirus has changed the way the world works and wrestling has certainly felt its impact as well. Things are finally getting back to normal for the most part, but there is always the chance that something could flare up all over again. There is always the chance that another breakout could take place, so good testing is a requirement. Now we know a bit more about how WWE and AEW are handling things. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE and AEW both require ten days away for any wrestler who tests positive for the Coronavirus. In addition, both companies will require a negative Coronavirus test before they are allowed to return. This is the policy that both promotions have announced publicly, though they would not mention making any changed to their rules. Both companies are doing what they can. Check out how things have been going as of late: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains vide..

Drew McIntyre On How Brock Lesnar Inspired His Dramatic Physical Change

December 21, 2021 • Admin

It makes a difference. Wrestling is a lot of things, but ultimately it is a visual medium. The wrestlers have to come up with a way to make the fans stop what they are doing and look at what is in front of them. That is easier said than done, but there are certain tricks that work better than others. Wrestlers can make some changes to improve their appearance, which was the case for a certain top WWE star for a very specific reason. Drew McIntyre was recently interviewed by the Daily Record and spoke about the change in his appearance. McIntyre said that he didn’t believe someone who looked like he did could beat Brock Lesnar, so he began putting in the extra work to make it believable. This included training and adjusting his diet, with McIntyre saying the latter is the far more important of the two. McIntyre would defeat Lesnar to win the WWE Title in the main event of WrestleMania 36. McIntyre was on to something. Check out what he did with his new look: [This post contains video..

Ring Of Honor TV Results – December 15, 2021

December 21, 2021 • Admin

Ring Of Honor Date: December 15, 2021 Location: UMBC Event Center, Baltimore, Maryland Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman We’re around Final Battle, with this show officially debuting before the show took place. At this point though, it isn’t like the date matters since there are only a few shows left in the first place. I’m not sure what to expect here, but odds are we’ll get some good wrestling to go with the rather limited storylines. Let’s get to it. Opening recap. Quinn McKay gives us the welcome and rundown. Sledge vs. PCO Holidead is on commentary and it’s Falls Count Anywhere/no DQ. Before the match, Sledge teases attacking Brian Zane over (jokingly) calling him Steve. Business will be taken care of instead. PCO on the other hand shouts IT’S ALIVE. They slug it out with Sledge hitting a jumping back elbow to the face to take him down. It’s already time to put a trashcan on PCO’s head for a charge in the corner. The fight heads to the floor for the chop off until ..

WWE And AEW Have Backup Plans In Place Of Coronavirus Shutdown

December 21, 2021 • Admin

They need a backup plan. The Coronavirus pandemic has changed the way the world works, including the wrestling industry. Things are mostly back to normal, but there are some issues that are still not quite what they once were. Now it seems that the entire ordeal is ramping up again and wrestling will need a backup plan. The good thing is that WWE and AEW seem to have that covered. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, both WWE and AEW would likely return to Florida should there be another national shutdown over the Coronavirus pandemic. Florida would not be expected to have any restrictions, meaning AEW could return to Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, while WWE could find another building to use as the Thunderdome. At the moment, there are no expectations for another shutdown to take place. It could be different. Check out the venues we could be seeing again: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to pl..

WATCH: Big Title Match Takes Place After Monday Night Raw (Almost Full Match)

December 21, 2021 • Admin

The night isn’t over yet. WWE television shows can be quite long in the first place, with several wrestlers in action across a good number of matches throughout the night. That can make for some interesting moments, especially if the show is well put together. It can be hard to get the formula right, but sometimes there are even more things to worry about on a given evening. That was the case again this week. As shown on Youtube, a triple threat match took place after this week’s Monday Night Raw went off the air. Following the show, Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch defeated Bianca Belair and Liv Morgan to retain the title. Morgan and Belair traded near falls until Belair was knocked out. Lynch then threw Morgan outside and pinned Belair with a rollup while putting her feet on the ropes. Belair defeated Doudrop earlier in the night, while Morgan and Lynch faced off in an interview. It was an intense ending. Check out the match, plus what the three did on television: [This post conta..

WWE And AEW Both Try (And Fail) To Land Former World Champion

December 21, 2021 • Admin

They tried. The rise of AEW has changed the way wrestlers are treated in wrestling, as now talent is sought after by both AEW and WWE, resulting in more lucrative offers. A lot of wrestlers have taken the promotions up on those offers, but they are not for everyone. That is the case with one independent star, who has apparently turned down multiple offers to join the bigger leagues. Davey Richards appeared on Vickie Guerrero’s Excuse Me podcast where he revealed that he has turned down multiple offers from WWE and AEW. Richards said that he did not care for televised wrestling, as it did not allow him to have the kind of matches and tell the kinds of stories that he wanted. He has since begun appearing with Major League Wrestling and other independent promotions. Richards has certainly made an impact. Check out some of his better work: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Good for..

WRESTLING RUMORS: We May Have Seen A Big Turn On WWE Monday Night Raw

December 21, 2021 • Admin

As the wrestlers turn. With so many wrestlers on the WWE roster today, it can be easy for someone to need a bit of a change. It doesn’t help when there is so much television time to fill every week that a wrestler can get stale pretty fast if they are around too often. Sometimes a change is needed and we might have seen that take place this week in a pretty big way. The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw featured Bobby Lashley and Big E. teaming up to face Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens. Lashley pinned Owens to win, but was attacked after the match and laid out by Rollins and Owens. Lashley’s manager MVP was also absent from ringside after Lashley asked to do this himself. According to Wrestlingnews.co, while not confirmed, this could suggest a babyface turn for Lashley, who has been a villain for well over a year. Lashley could be on to something here. Check out what he has been doing of late: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to pla..

Top WWE Star Heading Down To NXT

December 21, 2021 • Admin

Get him a star for his dressing room door. NXT has been shaken up in a lot of ways over the last several months and it does not seem to be for the better. Above all else, it seems that the show has lost almost all of its star power with one established name after another leaving. You can only get so far with so many people leaving, but now it seems that we are getting a special guest star. As announced on this week’s Monday Night Raw, AJ Styles will appear as a guest star for this week’s edition of NXT, which will mark his first appearance on the show since 2019. There is no word on what Styles will be doing, but he was mentioned to be appearing to address comments made by Grayson Waller. This is the first guest star that NXT has had in several months, though there is no word on if it is the first of several. This could be interesting. Check out some of Styles’ time in NXT, plus what Waller has been up to: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click ..

WATCH: WWE Tag Team Splits, Grudge Match Already Set

December 21, 2021 • Admin

So much for that. Tag teams have a complicated history in WWE as the company has a tendency to put teams together just to split them up. It gets annoying seeing so many teams with potential gt torn apart so soon, but that’s just how things go in WWE. Now it seems to be happening again and we already have the first showdown match between the former teammates. This week on Monday Night Raw, AJ Styles and Omos officially split after weeks of teasing to do so. The team appeared on MizTV, where Miz said that Omos believed Styles was holding him back. Then Omos refused to tag in during their tag match, leaning to a loss to the Mysterios. The two brawled after the match, with Omos laying Styles out. A match has been made between them for next week on Monday Night Raw. They had a good run. Check out the team’s time together, plus their split: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I can’t s..

LOOK: Brock Lesnar Goes Out Dancing

December 21, 2021 • Admin

Call it staying in character? There is almost no one in the history of wrestling like Brock Lesnar. With his legitimate amateur wrestling and combat sports background, Lesnar is the once in a generation talent that can change a promotion in a heartbeat. WWE has tried something new with him lately, and now it seems that Lesnar is lightening up a bit outside of the ring as well. A new image of Lesnar has made its way online, showing him dancing with am unidentified woman while grinning at the camera. There is no word on where the photo was taken. This comes as Lesnar has been portraying a more down to earth character, even offering to go hunting or fishing with Sami Zayn. Lesnar is currently scheduled to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Title at Day One on January 1, 2021. My new favourite Brock Lesnar picture. pic.twitter.com/19bgJNBJh4 — Fiending For Followers ?? (@Fiend4FolIows) December 19, 2021 Lesnar is still a monster. REVIEW: California Championship Wrestling – August 6, 1986: And You Thought Raw Was Bad

December 21, 2021 • Admin

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? California Championship Wrestling Date: August 6, 1986 Location: Fender’s Ballroom, Long Beach, California Commentator: Barry Richards Oh boy I’ve been wanting to check this one out for a long time. California Championship Wrestling is, as you might have guessed, a territory from back in the mid 1980s. What sets it apart is that it is apparently the worst wrestling territory that anyone has ever seen. I’ve seen quite a few bad territories in my day and I’m curious to see what they have. Let’s get to it. I know NO..

There Were Some Very Different Plans For Scarlett And Damian Priest In NXT

December 21, 2021 • Admin

The original plans. WWE has been all over the place this year with its releases and roster changes. Those moves have made it even more difficult to keep track of what is going on, including who is still around and working with whoever else. It makes things even more complicated when you have moves that didn’t make it to television, which is the case again with a pairing that never happened. Scarlett Bordeaux recently took part in a signing with Signed By Superstars. During the signing, Bordeaux revealed that WWE had originally planned for her to manage Damian Priest. Pairing Bordeaux with Priest would have been the idea had Karrion Kross not been able to sign with WWE. Kross did eventually sign and was paired with Bordeaux upon his debut, though both were released from WWE earlier this year. This could have been interesting. Check out Priest, plus Kross with and without Bordeaux: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post conta..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – December 20, 2021

December 21, 2021 • Admin

Monday Night Raw Date: December 20, 2021 Location: Fiserv Forum, Milwaukee, Wisconsin Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton We’re less than two weeks away from Day One and the Raw World Title match has grown. Last week Bobby Lashley won a series of matches to earn the right to be added to the match as the bad guys had a big night. Now we need to change things up a bit on the way to the pay per view. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of Bobby Lashley running the gauntlet last week to earn the Day One title shot. Here are MVP and Bobby Lashley for a chat. MVP hypes up Lashley’s accomplishments last week and explains just how impressive it really was. Now no one can hang with him, but here is Big E. to interrupt. Big E. was impressed last week, but the Lashley that he knows (the one with a lot of sisters) has all of his success on his own. That made it all the more surprising when MVP hit Big E. in the knee with a cane last week. Lashley says he’s a monster but he’..

WATCH: WWE Stars Wish You Happy Holidays

December 21, 2021 • Admin

Tis the season. We are less than a week away from Christmas and less than two weeks away from the new year. You can feel the year winding down and that means things are a bit more calm and peaceful, often with people enjoying the holiday season. That is the case in WWE as well, as they are sending fans a special look at the holiday season, featuring some of its biggest names. WWE has released a new video featuring various wrestlers wishing fans Happy Holidays. Several wrestlers are included in-character, along with some less than normal situations, such as Charlotte as the Grinch and Seth Rollins acknowledging his marriage to Becky Lynch. There is also a discussion of wrestlers making the best holiday cookies and a few classic clips. It’s a fun thing to see. WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Trying To Get Steve Austin For WrestleMania 38

December 20, 2021 • Admin

Call it a wish list. We are only a few months away from WrestleMania 38, which will be one of the biggest shows in history. The idea of holding the show on back to back nights in a stadium that can hold 100,000 people is quite the way to go and WWE will have its work cut out for it to fill the place. Now it seems that they have their eyes on someone who could help that issue. According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, WWE hopes to have Steve Austin appear at WrestleMania. Austin would not be in a wrestling role, but WWE would like to have him be in a bigger role than simply making an appearance. There is no word on if Austin is interested or if he has made an agreement to appear. Austin has been featured in the main television advertisement for WrestleMania. Talked to a few different source this weekend & heard the same thing, WWE is very interested in having Steve Austin as a part of WrestleMania this year in Dallas. Not in a wrestling role, but a meaningful part of the event ou..

Impact Wrestling Results – December 9, 2021

December 20, 2021 • Admin

Impact Wrestling Date: December 9, 2021 Location: Sam’s Town Live, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Matt Striker, D’Lo Brown We are on the way to Hard To Kill and the show still has a long way to go. You can see a lot of the card from here so hopefully we get some more work put in this week. A few more matches would help, as long as they pay enough attention to what is already there too. Let’s get to it. Opening recap looks at Matt Cardona and W. Morrissey becoming co-#1 contenders, with their title shot coming against Moose at Hard To Kill. Opening sequence. Chris Sabin/Mickie James vs. Matthew Rehwoldt/Deonna Purrazzo The women start things off but Rehwoldt comes in before Purrazzo does anything. Rehwoldt shoulders Mickie down to start but misses an elbow, allowing Sabin to come in and strike away. Sabin cranks on the arm but gets sent into the corner for a kick to the ribs. It’s back to Purrazzo to kick away at the ribs and to knock Mickie off the apron. Rehwoldt grabs a chinlock..

Bret Hart Reflects On Being Inducted Into Canada’s Walk Of Fame

December 20, 2021 • Admin

It really is an honor. Wrestling is unique among other sports as while there are championships to win, they can also be lost just as fast. There are very few accomplishments that stay with someone forever in wrestling, but the ones that do last are rather important. At the same time though, there are some things that are even more impressive than wrestling, at least according to a certain legend. Bret Hart discussed his induction into the Canada Walk Of Fame during a new interview with KESQ (ABC affiliate in Palm Springs, California). Hart said that while he has been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice (on his own and as part of the Hart Foundation), this induction means more because he is representing an entire country. Hart also talked about what it meant to be a hero to children around the world, including Make-A-Wish children by being someone they could look up to on television. His induction will mark the first time that a wrestler has ever been inducted into the Canada Walk..

AEW’s Sammy Guevara Clears Up Rumors Regarding The End Of His Engagement

December 20, 2021 • Admin

It shouldn’t have to be said. Wrestlers are a weird breed as they are both full time television stars but also have to find a way to balance things out in their personal lives. That can be rather tricky to pull off, as sometimes the lines become more than a bit blurred. Unfortunately that seems to be the case again and a wrestler has had to shut down a few theories. Earlier this week, AEW TNT Champion Sammy Guevara announced that his engagement with his fiance Pam Nizio had come to an end. Later, Guevara had to issue another statement to Twitter, clarifying that the engagement ended in October and saying that it had nothing to do with anyone else. This comes as AEW’s Tay Conti has also announced a split from her husband, leaving to online speculation that the two situations were somehow intertwined. Conti, who was never mentioned by Guevara, has since deleted her Twitter account. pic.twitter.com/6FEqV9Ki2u — sammy guevara (@sammyguevara) December 18, 2021 This shouldn’t have to be ..

Jim Ross Trashes Current WWE Title, Calls It “Hideous”

December 20, 2021 • Admin

Is he that wrong? There are a lot of titles in the wrestling world and some of them are rather unique. While there are the standards, such as the World Title, Tag Team Titles and Women’s Titles, some championships are much more specific and might not be the most serious. WWE certainly has one and a former long time employee does not seem to think much of it. During a recent edition of his Grilling JR podcast, WWE legend and current AEW broadcaster Jim Ross talked about the 24/7 Title. Ross compared the title to the Hardcore Title, which he described as “another watered-down championship”. He also said that the 24/7 Title was “hideous” and that you cannot name all of the champions in its history. The 24/7 Title was introduced on May 20, 2019 and has had over one hundred and fifty reigns over fifty plus wrestlers. The title has seen some shenanigans. Check out some of its history: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contai..
