Vince McMahon Wants To Release His Memoirs

That would be worth a read. There are several major names in wrestling history but all of them pale in comparison to Vince McMahon. Whether you like him or not, there is no denying that he is the most powerful person the wrestling industry has ever seen. McMahon has been around for the better part of fifty years and that means he is going to have some stories to tell. Now, he looks ready to tell them.
According to the New York Post, McMahon is shopping his memoir around to various publishers. The story is written by McMahon and tells the story of how he took over the wrestling industry. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the idea is to put the book head to head with the book Ringmaster by Abraham Riesman, a McMahon biography due out in 2023. There is no word on if or when McMahon’s memoir would be released.
Opinion: This is interesting as you can all but guarantee that someone, somewhere, will publish McMahon’s book. McMahon is someone who has dominated an industry and t..

KB’s Review: That’s Good Judgment

Stables have been a thing in wrestling for a very long time and it isn’t that much of a surprise. A stable allows a lot of wrestlers to get television time together rather than hoping that one or two of them can make it onto the show that week. That is something that has worked for a very long time and still does to this day. It could be as serious as the NWO or as goofy as 3MB but it can still work no matter what. That is the case again, though this week saw what I would consider an upgrade.
Back at WrestleMania 38, Damian Priest gave Edge a surprise assist to help him defeat AJ Styles. The two would unite and form the Judgment Day stable, eventually adding Rhea Ripley. While the stable’s mission wasn’t entirely clear, Edge always teased adding new members, which finally took place again this week. It just might not have gone as he had planned.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Finn Balor officially joined Judgment Day and almost immediately turned on Edge, laying him out with help fro..

Injury Scare Takes Place At This Week’s NXT Taping (CONTAINS MINOR SPOILER)

That could have been worse. Injury scares are one of the worst things that you can see on a wrestling show as you never know how bad they might be. Someone could get hurt and have their careers ended, but thankfully that is not always the case. Occasionally you can get some good news that night, which seems to have been the situation this week after an NXT star was hurt.
According to PWInsider.com, there was an injury scare for Gigi Dolin during this week’s NXT taping. On Wednesday during the taping for the June 14 show, Dolin was injured during her match when Cora Jade hit her with a cannonball senton. Dolin did not get up and the match ended shortly thereafter. However, during the June 21 taping later in the night, Dolin did appear in the arena, though she did not get physical. There is no word on what happened to her or how much time, if any, she might miss from the ring.
Opinion: The fact that Dolin was still in the arena later in the night rather than at the hospital is a pretty..

Franklin Who? Arena Accidentally Advertises Some Funny Names For WWE Live Event

Wait…who? There are a lot of different aspects that come together to make a wrestling star feel important but one of the biggest is their name. You can only get so far with a bad name and that has been shown on more than one occasion over the years. WWE has a hit and miss record with naming its wrestlers, but this time around even what they had isn’t quite right.
WWE has a live event scheduled for the Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena in Atlantic City, New Jersey on August 14. There have been a few matches announced, but the arena’s website had listed incorrect names for the show. This includes “Seth “Franklin” Rollins” and “Ashule” instead of Seth “Freakin” Rollins and Asuka. The incorrect names were still listed as of Thursday morning but had been corrected later in the day.
Had to see for myself that this is real. WWE is back. pic.twitter.com/OYYYUVal1c

Across The Bow: AEW And WWE Stars Trade Barbs On Twitter

Interpromotional arguing. There are a lot of talented people throughout the wrestling world but not all of them work for the same promotions. While WWE still rules the wrestling landscape, the rise of AEW has opened the door for another major promotion. The two companies have done battle before and now they are doing it again, this time over a former WWE star.
Athena, formerly known as Ember Moon during her time in WWE, made her AEW debut at Double Or Nothing and has set her sights on Jade Cargill and the TBS Title. This led to Cargill saying that Athena has changed her look since coming to AEW, referencing meetings that Athena said took place during her time in NXT where she was encouraged to dress more like Mandy Rose. Athena responded, saying that Cargill looked like Rose and Charlotte. WWE’s Alexa Bliss chimed in, saying she wasn’t sure who Cargill was in the first place.
You ask me. You look rather “Mandy-ish”. I thought you weren’t trying to be sexy? ? got close to a REAL godde..

Update On Roman Reigns’ WWE Appearances, Rumored Match Still Possible

Maybe not so long? Roman Reigns has been the biggest star in WWE for a long time now and that is likely to stay the case for a good while longer. However, Reigns is also not around as often as he has been in the past and that is becoming a bit of an issue. Reigns has not defended his Universal Title since WrestleMania 38 but that might be changing sooner than we expect.
Earlier this week, news broke that Reigns was not expected to wrestle at Money In The Bank on July 2. However, according to Wrestling Observer Radio, while Reigns is not scheduled to wrestle until Summerslam on July 30, there is still a chance that he could wrestle on television before then. There is a chance that the match could be against Riddle, who was Reigns’ original Money In The Bank opponent.
Opinion: I know that Reigns has a new contract and that is great for him, but it is getting a little bit annoying to have him gone so often at a time. This is similar to what Brock Lesnar did a few years ago and that is n..

More Than One: Update On Adam Cole’s Injury Status

That could be serious. There are a lot of injuries in wrestling and unfortunately you never know how long one of them could keep someone on the shelf. An injury can be built up over time or take place right in the middle, but there is always the chance that it can be a combination of both. This time seems to be somewhere in the middle, but either way, it is going to keep a star out of action.
AEW’s Adam Cole has not wrestled since Double Or Nothing last month. According to Fightful Select, Cole is currently dealing with a series of issues, including a labrum issue that took place during a match with Hangman Page earlier this year. Cole has worked through the injury, though it is not clear if it is torn. There is no word on when Cole will be returning to the ring.
Opinion: That is never something you want to hear as any kind of injury is a bad thing. Cole is someone who has a lot of potential to break through to the next level for AEW and be a regular main eventer there so hopefully t..

Not So Fast: Rumored AEW Forbidden Door Match Not Expected To Happen

Maybe not. We are coming up on AEW’s next major event with Full Gear, which will feature AEW wrestlers vs. New Japan wrestlers in a series of dream matches. The card has quite a bit of potential, but so far, most of the show has not been announced. There have been some matches suggested, but it seems that one match hinted at might not actually be taking place.
This week on AEW Dynamite, Hangman Page mentioned IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, saying that he wanted a title shot. However, according to Wrestling Observer Radio, a singles match between Page and Okada is not expected to take place. There is no word on what the two of them will be doing at the show or why the match was mentioned with no plans for it to take place.
Opinion: That’s a bit confusing, as the rule of thumb in wrestling is that if a mach is mentioned, it is going to take place sooner than later. Page and Okada are likely to be on the show, but why have Page issue the challenge if the match is not going to be on th..

Update On Charlotte’s Upcoming Return To WWE TV

Not just yet. There are a lot of wrestlers in the world and some of them wind up together as a wrestling couple. It makes sense that two wrestlers would get together as it means both will understand the insanity that comes with the wrestling business. That is the case at the moment with a WWE and AEW star, though in this case, what one of them is doing is not the same as the other.
Earlier this week on AEW Dynamite, Andrade El Idolo made his return after a month and a half long absence, appearing in the Joker’s Wild battle royal. This came after El Idolo took time off to get married to WWE’s Charlotte, which sparked speculation that Charlotte could be ready to return as well. However, according to PWInsider.com, Charlotte is not currently scheduled for this week’s SmackDown. It is not known when Charlotte will return to the ring.
Opinion: El Idolo’s return is the kind of thing that is going to get people talking and that is the case here, as it is easy to assume that Charlotte would ..

Cool Piece Of Wrestling Merchandise Suggests Former NXT Star May Head To AEW

Maybe he’ll swing by. There have been a lot of moves throughout the major wrestling rosters in recent years and there is nothing to suggest that those changes are ending. It can be fascinating to see who goes where and what happens to them, though it can be equally interesting to speculate on what is happening. That seems to be the case again, mainly due to a new piece of merchandise.
AEW’s official online store is now selling an art print by former NXT star Sam Shaw (better known as Dexter Lumis). The print is from an original painting of Jon Moxley as done by Shaw and is individually numbers out of two hundred. There is no word on if this means Shaw is set to appear for AEW or if it is just a piece of memorabilia available. The 18×24 inch poster sells for $34.99.

REVIEW: Halftime Heat 2019: Dusting Off The Classic

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Halftime Heat
Date: February 3, 2019
Location: WWE Performance Center, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Shawn Michaels, Vic Joseph
So since the four hours of content enough yesterday, we’ll take a look at this quick show here, which is comprised of one match from the NXT crew. That’s not the worst idea in the world, and since it’s just a quick thing that isn’t even half an hour, it’s hard to get too annoyed over the whole thing. Let’s get to it.
Aleister Black/Velveteen Dream/Ricochet vs. Adam Cole/Johnny Gargano/T..

WWE Teaming With Dark Side Of The Ring Creators For New Wrestling Series

That might be a different take. There are all kinds of stories in the wrestling world and some of them can be quite fascinating. You never know what you might hear about in wrestling and over the last few years, several more of those stories have received attention. This has come in the form of several documentaries, and now we are going to be in for another set with a different perspective.
According to SEScoops, WWE will be teaming up with Evan Husney and Jason Eisener, the creators of Dark Side of the Ring, for a new wrestling TV series. The VICE TV series is described as “Campfire Talks” about previous generations of wrestling. WWE legends will be included in the series, including Steve Austin, and the creators will have access to the WWE archives. There is no word on when the new series will air. It is not clear what this means for the future of Dark Side Of The Ring.
Opinion: This could have potential but at the end of the day, I don’t buy the idea of anything with WWE involved..
