Ring Of Honor TV Results – December 12, 2018

•

Ring of Honor Date: December 12, 2018 Location: Stage AE, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Commentators: Colt Cabana, Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman It’s the go home show for Final Battle and most of the card is actually set for the only time of the year. I could go for more of that but ROH would rather have the ridiculous scheduling for whatever reason. On top of that this is likely the last time we’ll be seeing the major stories this year as we tend to get Best Of shows to close out December. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of SCU’s contract situation and Christopher Daniels agreeing to have his last match against Marty Scurll at Final Battle with a World Title shot on the line. Opening sequence. Silas Young vs. Flip Gordon Fallout from a few weeks back where Gordon got caned. Hang on though as Flip asks if Silas is really the Last Real Man. If he’s that serious, let’s make this an I Quit match as a Final Battle preview. Silas kicks him down and says it’s on. Gordon is in trouble e..

Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose: Built to Shine at ‘WWE TLC’

•

Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose will finally go to war at WWE TLC on Sunday, December 16. The former Shield teammates have a major score to settle and even though Rollins was ready to fight and defend his Intercontinental Championship, Ambrose has done everything in his power to prolong the inevitable. But now the day of reckoning is at hand. As fans prepare for TLC and this match specifically, the time might be right to forget the issues. That’s not always the easiest thing to do of course, especially since WWE seems wrought with issues as of late. But it could be that none of that will matter on December 16 because Seth and Dean will most certainly deliver in the ring. Perhaps the time has indeed come to have some fun. For the past several weeks, fans have been irate over the current state of Monday Night Raw. WWE’s flagship program has suffered from a lack of big money stars. It’s also suffered from a lack of plausible storylines That combination is a recipe for disaster and fans a..

Former NXT Superstar Returns To The Brand, Challenges Ricochet

•

The developmental division may have gotten a bit more pretty. On this past week’s episode of NXT, Tyler Breeze made his return to the brand, and challenged Ricochet for the North American Championship. You can see a clip of that match below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: Breeze’s shocking return to the black-and-gold fortress came after Ricochet called on NXT management to find a challenger for his NXT North American crown. Adding value to Regal’s rolodex, Breeze proved to be the competition Ricochet was waiting for. Minutes into the match, Prince Pretty wrapped The One and Only with a pinning predicament that fluidly turned into a knee-bending leglock. From there, as “Breeze is gorgeous” chants filled Full Sail Live, it was clear the gritty effort by Breeze would push Ricochet to his limits, forcing the latter to fire on all cylinders. Late in the contest, Ricochet’s attempted springboard moonsault was met by a superkick from Breeze, leaving him room to..

What Kinds Of Changes Could FOX Make To The SmackDown Live Deal?

•

Not so simple? Earlier this year, WWE announced the huge move of having SmackDown Live head over to the FOX Network in October 2019. This is one of the biggest moves WWE has ever managed to pull off and it’s hard to imagine how it could be anything but a positive for the company. Being on a network is far bigger than being on cable, but it turns out that things might not be so concrete. Dave Meltzer was asked on Twitter if FOX or USA could change the terms of their deal should the ratings for Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live continue to stay as low as they have been recently. Meltzer said that while he didn’t know the specifics, the deals would be in place for the duration of their five year contracts. However, FOX could move SmackDown Live to a different night or time if they chose. I don't know the contractual clauses but I wouldn't expect that to happen. They'll run them for the term and at the end of the term (five years) then they'll make decisions. FOX co..

The More Plans Change. Rumor Killer On The Rock vs. Roman Reigns At WrestleMania 35.

•

Not so fast my cousin. To say that Roman Reigns being gone from WWE for the time being has changed things up would be an understatement. Reigns was the biggest star on the Monday Night Raw roster and pretty much the company as a whole. His absence throws a big wrench into the WrestleMania plans, but what was planned in the first place? It turns out that it’s not what we may have thought. Earlier this year, rumors started sprouting up about Reigns facing his cousin the Rock at WrestleMania 35, perhaps even after Rock won the Royal Rumble. The plan for the match would be to give Reigns the biggest rub possible on the WrestleMania stage. However, according to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer message boards via Cagesideseats.com, the rumors are “not true at all”. I mean, it’s not like he hasn’t tried. Here’s Rock trying to give Reigns the rub before: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I could see this one going either way. It’s possible that the story was true at..

KB’s Review: Pandora’s Raw

•

I love mythology. The huge collection of stories that are designed to explain everything about the world is endlessly fascinating with all kinds of characters and motivations to sort through. You could say the same thing about wrestling, and as it turns out, one story in particular from Greek mythology can be used to explain the biggest problem in modern day WWE. Maybe there was something to that Coliseum Video introduction after all. The story of Pandora’s Box is something that you’re likely familiar with, possibly just due to the name alone. The idea is that Pandora opened a particular box that contained all the evils of the world: disease, anger, death and any other bad thing. She closed the box to prevent the rest from getting out, but the only thing left inside was hope, which wasn’t unleashed upon the world. That’s where Monday Night Raw is at the moment. We’re in a very bad place right now and there is no reason to believe that there is any hope in the near, or possibly far, fu..

There’s Something About TLC. More WWE Names Are Sick.

It’s an epidemic. Earlier this week, news came out that Finn Balor was sick and had to come home early from the South American tour. While it isn’t clear if Balor is going to be ready to compete at this Sunday’s TLC event, he likely should be good to go. However, it turns out that Balor isn’t the only person in the WWE locker room who is under the weather at the moment. According to their social media accounts, both Mandy Rose and Alexa Bliss are both ill as well at the moment. There is no word on if this is the same illness as Balor, but according to Cagesideseats.com, Rose’s illness is believed to be the reason why she missed her scheduled match against Naomi earlier this week on SmackDown live. Both noted that they were sick on their Twitter accounts: https://twitter.com/AlexaBliss_WWE?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor Via @WWE_MandyRose Instagram story pic.twitter.com/uUSxxquVdu — Mandy-Rose.com (@MandyRosedotCOM) December 13, 2018 Rose’s absence was noted..

Video: Sgt. Slaughter Talks About Wrestling A Masked Vince McMahon

•

That’s not your normal day at the office. There’s no secret to the fact that Vince McMahon isn’t your typical boss. He’s a bit on the insane side at times but is also willing to get in the ring and do whatever it takes to get a story or another wrestler over. At the same time though, McMahon does occasionally wrestle himself, and that can make things rather interesting. That would be especially true one night with Sgt. Slaughter. In a new interview with Wrestling News, Sgt. Slaughter told a story about McMahon wanting to be a wrestler but never being allowed to by his father, who wanted McMahon to stay as an announcer. Slaughter once told McMahon that if he wanted to wrestle, he could put on a mask and wrestle Slaughter at a smaller show. McMahon did just that and Slaughter said the match took place. He didn’t say when the match took place, but McMahon Sr. died in 1984 and Slaughter was with the company in 1980-1981, meaning it likely took place during that stretch. There are some ot..

The Big Daddy. WWE Signs A Major Name For NXT UK.

That’s a big one. The WWE has gone out of their way to expand the NXT UK brand. After this weekend’s announcement of the first ever NXT UK Takeover, it’s clear that WWE has some big plans around here. The talent is already there on the brand, but you need some big names in there to really make an impact. Sometimes you need a big name here or there, and that’s what WWE seems to have done. According to PWInsider.com, WWE has signed top European name WALTER (as it is spelled). The current Progress Wrestling World Champion, WALTER is a big man who wrestles a power style and is well known for his chops. He recently dropped the PWG World Title, which may have been for the sake of signing with WWE. At the moment this would be for the NXT UK brand only, though there is a chance that he could come over to work some regular NXT dates. You’re going to need to get used to this guy. He’s got some crazy chops: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: You had to know this was coming on..

Monday Night Raw Date: November 26, 2018 Location: Fiserv Forum, Milwaukee, Wisconsin Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Renee Young We’re coming up on TLC and the card is already starting to come into focus. Last week saw two big matches set up and you can imagine some more taking place tonight. We also don’t know any of the big gimmick matches yet, which are often some of the most important things on the show. Let’s get to it. We open with Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley, Lio Rush and Drew McIntyre in the ring. They talk about how great their Thanksgiving was, though they didn’t indulge themselves like these common people. They’re all thankful for everything they do, including what they did to Braun Strowman last week. We see last week’s attack that put Strowman on the shelf and then go to Birmingham, Alabama where Strowman says he’ll be on the shelf for a while. Check Out These 8 Cool Car Entrances

Vroom vroom. Picture a wrestler coming into the arena. Most of the time it’s going to be the wrestlers walking to the ring for whatever they’re doing and that’s perfectly fine. It’s as simple of a concept as you can get, but on bigger occasions you need to change things up. Instead of walking, sometimes the wrestlers show up in a car, and that can create some rather awesome moments. Moments like these for instance. [This post contains video, click to play] WWE has posted a new video looking at 8 Cool Car Entrances. These range from throughout the years with wrestlers coming into the arena in various kinds of vehicles. Most of them were special moments and one off appearances, but others are the regular entrances that became trademarks. Not all of them were in regular cars either, with several of them being some kind of a special vehicle. Opinion: These are pretty cool and that’s exactly what they were shooting for here. Having a wrestler come in on some kind of vehicle feels big, ..

Video: Top Ten Strangest Street Fights

Sometimes you need to mix things up. Violence has been a part of wrestling for a long time now. You could see it in a variety of styles, but one of the most common is street fights. These things are often a basic way to include some weapons, many of which you see in any given version of the match. Sometimes you have to shake things up though, and that’s where WWE is going today. Some of the stranger things. [This post contains video, click to play] WWE has posted a new Top Ten video looking at the Strangest Street Fights. A lot of people might not be happy to see Jax receive a push after her botch, but the fans are in an interesting place with the Raw Women’s Champion as well. Rousey is still adjusting to performing inside the ring and there are some harsh criticisms against her. For instance, she has been criticized for smiling too much during her entrance and not creating an atmosphere like she should. A report from RingSideNews revealed that the powers that be want her to do “her entrance” regardless of the events heading into the match. That impacts the coming match because it doesn’t seem Ronda is in character.
