WWE Has A Lot In Store For Next Week’s Monday Night Raw

•

It’s a busy one. With the last Monday Night Raw of 2018 in the books, it’s time to move on to the new year. That typically means a big show to kick things off, with a title match, a big return or something else that you don’t usually get. WWE likes to get things going well and the fact that it’s going up against the College Football Playoff title game might help things a bit. So what’s on tap? This week on Monday Night Raw, a host of announcements were made for next week’s show. These include appearances by Brock Lesnar and John Cena, the return of Braun Strowman, and a Tag Team Title match with the Revival challenging Chad Gable and Bobby Roode. Strowman has been out of action with a shoulder injury and Lesnar hasn’t appeared on Monday Night Raw since November. This will be Cena’s first appearance on the show since April. He’s back. Check out Strowman’s impressive 2018: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Oh yeah I’d think they know they need to pick things up. The..

Is Seth Rollins Primed for a Return to WWE Raw’s Top Spot?

•

Seth Rollins came face to face with Triple H on the December 31 edition of Monday Night Raw. The Kingslayer and The Game had words after Rollins demanded his Intercontinental Championship rematch against Dean Ambrose. Hunter said no and that he wanted much more from Seth. Rollins reminded Triple H, as well as the rest of the world, that he had been carrying the program over the past 12 months. But then Seth said precisely what many fans wanted to hear. Rollins said he would take out Brock Lesnar and his Universal Championship. It’s a statement that had to be made at some point. Now that it’s been said, what are the chances that Seth Rollins is indeed headed to the very top of Monday Night Raw? One key issue for fans to remember is that the red brand’s top spot is the company’s top spot. That’s because both belong to Roman Reigns. The Big Dog may be on the shelf right now but he will be back eventually. The only question is, will WWE move forward with someone else in Roman’s place unti..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – December 31, 2018

•

Monday Night Raw Date: December 31, 2018 Location: Little Caesars Arena, Detroit, Michigan Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Renee Young We’re taped this week for the second time in a row, which has to be the first time in at least several years, assuming two of the UK shows didn’t take place back to back at some point. The big deal tonight is a cage match between Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre, because that was a story that needed to go on for the better part of nine months, assuming it ends tonight. Let’s get to it. The cage is lowered to start. Dolph Ziggler vs. Drew McIntyre In a cage with pinfall, submission or escape to win. Ziggler has lost the record scratch at the start of his song. An early escape attempt doesn’t work for Ziggler and Drew chops the heck out of him. That and a delayed vertical suplex are enough to put Dolph down for some writhing on the mat. Dolph’s early comeback is cut off by the Glasgow Kiss but he catches Drew on top. That means a series of ra..

Rumor: Sami Zayn Still “A Few Months” Away From Being Cleared

•

Sami Zayn has been out of action for several months after tearing both of his rotator cuffs this summer. With the Royal Rumble coming around, most people are wondering if the “Underdog From the Underground” will be an entrant in the match. WWE officials do like to surprise the WWE Universe, but the chances of him wrestling are really slim. During a recent appearance on Talk is Jericho, Zayn explained that he’s still a couple of months away from being medically cleared. After three years in exile, Hulk Hogan made his first appearance with WWE for Crown Jewel. His brief appearance was just to say hello and acknowledge the rumors that he’s been speaking with WWE officials again. Becky Lynch Addresses Comparisons to “Stone Cold” Steve Austin

•

As 2018 comes to a close, it’s hard to argue that anyone else but Becky Lynch had the better year. Since Summerslam, The Lass Kicker has been red-hot and everything that happens has improved her role with the company. She may have lost the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WWE TLC, but she’s entering 2019 with a ton of momentum. Her new attitude that could be seen as a babyface or heel run depending on your view, has drawn several comparisons to Stone Cold Steve Austin and other great anti-heroes in WWE history. It’s become a cliche to compare an anti-hero to The Texas Rattlesnake, but she recently addresses those comparisons during an interview with Gorilla Position. Zelina Vega Dealing With Possible Concussion

Rumor: Jinder Mahal Working Injured

Last year, WWE officials used Jinder Mahal as the centerpiece for the company to make a major push into the Indian market. Out of nowhere, Mahal won the WWE Title and he received a strong push on SmackDown Live until it was decided AJ Styles was a stronger choice to lead the brand. As a result, Jinder Mahal was thrust back into WWE’s midcard. After the extremely lackluster feud against Roman Reigns, Mahal has been stuck in feud after feud without much momentum. Most recently, he has been featured in Christmas segments with Heath Slater. There’s nothing wrong with this role, but for someone who was the WWE Champion just a year ago, that’s a massive step down with the company. Why WWE Keeps Delaying Ember Moon’s Push on Raw

Since her main roster debut, Ember Moon hasn’t been featured in a prominent role or a real feud on Monday Night Raw. She has been a strong babyface considering her limited role on WWE programming. However, the WWE Universe is wondering why the powers that be are waiting for when it comes to pushing Ember Moon to the next level on Raw. According to a recent report from PWInsider Elite, the reason why Moon remains in the midcard on Raw is that WWE officials don’t want her to get buried by Ronda Rousey. In 2018, Rousey ran roughshod over the Raw Women’s roster and the last thing the powers that be want to do is force her to job out to Rousey to make her look like everyone else.
