Wait, There’s More: What Happened After WWE Hell In A Cell Ended

You might want to listen. Sometimes in wrestling, you will see a performance that you cannot get out of your head. There is something so impressive about it that it sticks with you over the years and becomes one of those classic moments. That might have been the case this weekend, and despite the match being the main event of the show, there was something else to end the night. The main event of this weekend’s Hell In A Cell pay per view saw Cody Rhodes defeat Rollins. Rhodes wrestled the match with a torn pectoral muscle and had a large bruise all over his arm and chest. According to PWInsider.com following the show, a crying Rhodes said he would announce more about his injury tomorrow on Monday Night Raw and apologized for wrestling hurt. He made it clear that wrestling was his decision and he would win the WWE Title. Rhodes thanked the fans for coming to the show to end the night. Opinion: That is quite the apology as I don’t think anyone was looking for one. Rhodes wrestled a hec..

WRESTLING RUMORS: How Cody Rhodes Was Allowed To Wrestle At Hell In A Cell

That explains a bit. Every so often you see a wrestling performance that defies all logic and abilities, as you might not know how someone is able to do what they pull off in the ring. That was the case this weekend as a wrestler worked through one of the most gruesome injuries that you will likely remember for a very long time. Now we know a bit more about how it happened. At Hell In A Cell, Cody Rhodes defeated Seth Rollins in the show’s main event, which was held inside the show’s title structure. Rhodes wrestled the match despite having torn his pectoral muscle earlier in the week. According to Wrestlingnews.co, Rhodes was allowed to wrestle the match because he could not cause any more damage. However, some spots, including a moonsault, were removed from the match. The reasoning for why Cody was cleared to wrestle is because he can’t do more damage to his completely torn pec. There were some high risk spots (moonsault) that were scrapped from the match. #HIAC — Wrestling News (..

SmackDown Star May Be Missing Time After Brutal Match At Hell In A Cell

Maybe that’s how they get rid of him? There are a lot of different ways to get a wrestler off of television from time to time. Sometimes it might be due to an injury but it can also be a way to get them a breather for one reason or another. You never know when you might be seeing them again and that seems to be the case again with a SmackDown star who seems to be taking time off. This weekend at Hell In A Cell, Madcap Moss defeated Happy Corbin in a No Holds Barred match. Moss won the match by Pillmanizing Corbin’s neck with the steel steps. As a result, Corbin was taken out of the ring on a stretcher, suggesting that he could be missing some time. This comes less than a month after Corbin did the same to Moss, putting him on the shelf for three weeks. Opinion: Corbin taking some time away might be the right idea, as it will make Moss look that much stronger. Moss has become a bigger deal over the last few months and taking out Corbin makes him seem like a force. I could go for havin..

Yes, Another: Bryan Danielson Also Missing Time Due To Injury

Danielson too. There are all kinds of injuries in wrestling and there are instances where it seems like they keep happening over and over. That seems to be the case again as there have been injuries to top stars in both WWE and AEW. Unfortunately it seems that you never know when they are going to end, and now it seems that another star is banged up as well. According to Fightful Select, AEW’s Bryan Danielson has been injured and was forced to pull out of a scheduled meet and greet in Massachusetts. According to F4WOnline.com, Danielson’s injury is not said to be serious and he will be out of action for about a week or two. There is no word on the nature of his injury, but it is believed to have taken place during the Anarchy In The Arena match at Double Or Nothing. Opinion: This comes after a long, long list of other injuries but at least Danielson’s injuries do not seem to be that serious. It is a shame that he was hurt, but at least it could be a heck of a lot worse. You had to ex..

Hell In A Cell 2022 Live Coverage And Results

Hell In A Cell 2022 Date: June 5, 2022 Location: Allstate Arena, Rosemont, Illinois Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton, Pat McAfee, Michael Cole It’s time for one of the big gimmick shows and I think you know what is headlining. However, things have changed a bit at the last minute, as Cody Rhodes has suffered a torn pectoral muscle, meaning his match against Seth Rollins will be more than a bit different. The match is still on and inside the Cell, but I’m not sure how much Rhodes can do. Let’s get to it. The opening video looks at some of the history of the Cell before moving on to talk about almost every match on the card. The post Hell In A Cell 2022 Live Coverage And Results appeared first on WrestlingRumors.net.

BREAKING: Top WWE Star Injured, Possibly Out 7-8 Months

Yes, again. There are a lot of injuries in the wrestling world and some of them can be rather serious. At the same time, there are instances where you see one injury take place after another and it can shake things up quite a bit. That can be a problem when there is not a ton of talent to go around in the first place and unfortunately that seems to be the case again. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Monday Night Raw’s Cody Rhodes has suffered a possible torn pectoral muscle. Rhodes did not wrestle as planned in Champagne, Illinois on Saturday but did make an appearance at the end of the show. He is still expected to face Seth Rollins at Hell In A Cell Sunday night. Should he have the likely surgery to repair the injury, the recovery time is expected to put him on the shelf for seven to eight months. Opinion: My goodness this is getting to be a lot for WWE, as I have no idea who in the world they could bring in to fill Rhodes’ spot. He has been presented as one of the bigger nam..

Hell In A Cell 2022 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

This is one of WWE’s signature gimmick shows, but it also seems to be one where WWE is not that interested in promoting the thing. We have seven matches set for the show and three of them were added in the last six days. That doesn’t exactly give me a lot of confidence going into the show but maybe the work alone can pull it out. This certainly wouldn’t be the first time so let’s get to it. Ezekiel vs. Kevin Owens This has been something of a comedy feud as Owens continues to fall more than a bit short of that time a few months ago when he headlined WrestleMania with Steve Austin. Instead, he is now in the middle of the modern version of Bobby Heenan trying to unmask Giant Machine, which isn’t exactly the most compelling story. It is a story however, though I’m not sure how much longer it can last. I’ll take Ezekiel here, as there is little reason to have Owens win if the feud isn’t continuing. If WWE wants Ezekiel to mean something, he has to win his first big match, which would be ..

Homecoming: Proof Of Missing NXT Star Coming Back Under New Persona

I remember you. There are a lot of ways to bring a wrestler back to television after an absence. You might have them show up as a surprise or you might see their return hyped up in advance. Sometimes you, you see the announcement that a new wrestler is coming, only to find out that it is someone you have seen before. That is going to be the case again in the near future. Over the last few weeks, NXT has been running vignettes advertising the debut of a new star named Giovanni Vinci. According to Fightful Select, Vince will be a repackaged Fabian Aichner, who has not been seen since the Imperium stable broke up in April. While Vince’s face has not been seen in the vignettes, he can be seen wearing the same watch as Aichner. There is no word on when Vinci will be debuting. Opinion: I don’t know if this is the biggest surprise as the Italian part was a pretty big hint. It is nice to see Aichner getting to come back, as he has done quite well with the chances that he has had before. Now ..

Good News On CM Punk’s Injury Status

That could be worse. There are very few things in wrestling that can slow momentum down like an injury. You never want to see someone go down hurt but unfortunately there is not much that can be done to present it from happening. That was the case with one of the biggest names in wrestling earlier this week, but things might not be as bad as they originally seemed. Earlier this week, former AEW World Champion CM Punk announced that he had broken some bones and would need surgery to repair the injury. As a result, Punk will be out of action, though he did not specify how long. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Punk is expected to be out of action for less than six months. While no specific recovery time was listed, it was described as “not a long time”. Opinion: That is certainly good to hear as Punk being out of action for any length of time is a bad thing, but not being out of action for all that long is an improvement. I’m not sure who is going to be waiting on Punk when he ge..

Get Well Soon: NXT Star Injured And Could Be Out For A Long Time

That explains things. NXT has undergone several changes in the last few months, as the show has been relaunched as NXT 2.0. There are very few things that are still around from the old days, but you can still see some of the wrestlers who were around before. Unfortunately that has not been the case with everyone, and now we might know where one of them has been. According to Fightful Select, NXT star Io Shirai is currently out of action with an injury. There are not many details known about the situation, including the nature of her injury or how long she will be out of action. Shirai last wrestled at NXT Stand & Deliver in Dallas, Texas in April and has not been seen on television since. The hope is that Shirai will return at some point this summer, but that is not guaranteed. Opinion: That does explain a bit as there is no other reason to keep someone as talented as Shirai off of television for two months. Shirai is still one of the best performers in all of NXT and could easily ha..

And NEW: Multiple Titles Change Hands At NXT In Your House

Two please. There are a lot of titles under the WWE banner and some of them are among the best known championships in the industry. A championship changing hands can be a very important moment for someone, as it can mean the first major win of a wrestler’s career or a step back up after being knocked down. That was the case this weekend, as two titles changed hands in one night. There were two title changes on Saturday night at NXT In Your House. First up, Carmelo Hayes defeated Cameron Grimes to win the NXT North American Title. Grimes had won the title from Hayes in a five man ladder match at Stand & Deliver. Next, the Creed Brothers defeated Pretty Deadly to win the NXT Tag Team Titles for the first time. Had the Brothers lost, they would have been out of the Diamond Mine. NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Toxic Attraction, NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose and NXT Champion Bron Breakker all retained their titles. Opinion: You need to have something like this take place to make a show ..

NXT In Your House 2022 Live Coverage And Results

NXT In Your House 2022 Date: June 4, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Wade Barrett, Vic Joseph We’re back with another special show as NXT gets in on another WWE pay per view weekend. This time around they’re dusting off another classic with In Your House, which has very little to do with what we’ll be seeing. The card is fairly short but there are five titles being defended, making it pretty stacked at the same time. Let’s get to it. The opening video is based on the old In Your House intros, complete with Todd Pettingill doing the voiceover to run down the card. Joe Gacy gets to come through the house’s door and lights a poster on fire. Legado del Fantasma vs. Tony D’Angelo/Stacks/Two Dimes The losing team has to join the winners. During Legado’s entrance, the referee finds a crowbar, which seems to have been planted by D’Angelo and company. We also get a video with Tony Gallante narrating about how this is about controlling the streets and i..

Opinion: This Is Tony Khan & AEW’s Sink Or Swim Moment

It has not been a good week for All Elite Wrestling. Coming out of their recent Double or Nothing pay-per-view, many questions were raised about AEW and their business practices and how things were handled behind the scenes by Tony Khan. With all the controversy surrounding MJF and now with the confusion about their world championship, one thing is evident to me. In my opinion, this is a sink or swim moment for Tony Khan and the future of AEW. Allow me to be very clear and transparent: I am unabashedly and openly not a fan of AEW and haven’t been since the beginning. I believe that Khan has no idea how to run a wrestling company, does not understand the business aspect of it, and his product is nothing but spot fests, blood and deathmatch type matches, and trying to get their small fan base to mark out for every little thing that they do. They have NO IDEA how to tell a story, except for a couple of performers (MJF, CM Punk). As a result, some of my opinions may seem biased. However..

Main Event For Clash At The Castle Appears To Be Set

This makes sense. On this past week’s episode of Smackdown, the main event for the upcoming Clast At The Castle premium live event appeared to be set. During the show, Drew McIntyre announced that he would be challenging for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship in the show’s main event. At this time, he would be taking on Roman Reigns, should things stay how they are now. While this has not been made official yet, it is expected to be done so. Clash At The Castle will be the first time WWE has held a pay-per-view in the UK in 30 years. The last show in a significant stadium was SummerSlam ’92 at London’s Wembley Stadium. McIntyre had missed the last couple of weeks of WWE programming, as he was in the UK doing promotional work for the event. Editor’s Opinion: This makes all of the sense in the world to me, and I think it was assumed by most people that this would end up being the main event. It had been rumored that McIntyre and Reigns were on a collision course at some point..

That’s Two: Another AEW Champion Suffers An Injury This Week

That’s never good. Injuries are the kind of thing that can slow down any wrestler no matter what they are doing. You never know when you are going to see someone get hurt for either a short or longer amount of time but either can be devastating to whatever they are doing. That seems to be the case again to a reigning champion, though things could always be worse. AEW TNT Champion Scorpio Sky has sent out a tweet revealing that he suffered an injury during his successful title defense against Dante Martin on this week’s Rampage. Sky said that he started the match with his knee bothering him, but then strained a muscle in his leg in the opening minutes. The injury left his right leg “useless”, though he did finish the match. Sky also said that he hopes it is nothing serious and that he is able to return to the ring soon. I went into last nights match with my knee bothering me and unfortunately in the opening minutes I strained a muscle that goes from my knee up through my groin. My rig..

WWE Isn’t Sure When Roman Reigns Will Have His Next Title Defense

They might want to work on that. Titles are the easiest concept to understand in wrestling, as any fan can get the idea of someone holding a shiny belt. Someone holding a title means that they are the best around and people are coming for you. That can set up some major matches, but now it might be a little while before that happens again with the top title in WWE. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has yet to make up its mind on when WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns will next defend his title. The company is considering having him defend at either Money In The Bank on July 2 or at Summerslam on July 30. Reigns has been Universal Champion since August 30, 2020 and won the WWE Title from Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 in April. Opinion: I know WWE is enjoying the idea of pushing Reigns as the be all and end all of stars today, but I’m still not feeling this idea of several months with no title defenses. At that point, why bother having him as champion if he isn’t ..

NXT In Your House 2022 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

This is the kind of show that NXT needs every now and then and thankfully they haven’t gone too nuts and done them every month. At some point you need to have a big, special show and this time around you have a fairly stacked show. Granted the main event might not be the most exciting, but at least the show is taking place. Let’s get to it. Women’s Tag Team Titles: Toxic Attraction(c) vs. Katana Chance/Kayden Carter This is one of those matches that is made a bit more interesting by the fact that Toxic Attraction has lost the titles before. As a result, it means that another loss is not out of the question, which opens up some doors. Granted I don’t know how wide those doors are, but at least there is an option. Toxic Attraction has held the titles longer than anyone in history, with their reigns lasting all but three days since late October. That’s quite the target and that should be a good thing here. I’ll go with Chance/Carter to win here, as they are one of the only women’s teams..

REVIEW: Hell In A Cell 2018: Lock Them Up

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Hell in a Cell 2018 Date: September 16, 2018 Location: AT&T Center, San Antonio, Texas Commentators: Michael Cole, Renee Young, Corey Graves, Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton Welcome to the first show of the three that WWE is currently building. In this case we have the show designed around carnage and that could mean a few things. The show hasn’t exactly blown me away on paper but maybe they’ll surprise me here. There are two matches inside the big red cage tonight so let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Smackdown Tag Team ..

WRESTLING RUMORS: Pretty Bad Sign For WWE’s SmackDown Roster

That’s kind of a problem. WWE has a very talented roster with all kinds of wrestlers, with many of them appearing on television on a regular basis. Those stars are some of the biggest in the world and in WWE terms, are considered household names. However, it seems that some of them are not doing so well and that can be seen in part of an upcoming card. This weekend, WWE will be presenting its annual Hell In A Cell pay per view. Coming into this week’s SmackDown, the show had six matches scheduled with no SmackDown wrestlers on the card. According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, the lack of SmackDown stars is an indictment on the perceived star power of the show’s wrestlers. There is no word on how WWE might change things going forward. A SmackDown match between Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss was added to the show this week on SmackDown. The lack of SmackDown matches currently advertised for this weekends Hell In A Cell event speaks volumes. It’s an indictment on the roster a sourc..

WWE’s Liv Morgan Has Landed A Pretty Impressive Acting Role

It’s a gig. There are various similarities between wrestling and acting, as both involve putting on a performance. While wrestlers are often described as acting, it isn’t quite the same thing as having a director yell ACTION and performing your scene. That being said, there are enough similarities that wrestlers often try to get in on acting, which is the case again with a WWE star. According to Deadline.com, WWE star Liv Morgan is expected to make her film debut in the upcoming comedic thriller The Kill Room, staring Samuel L. Jackson and Uma Thurman. The film focuses on a money laundering scheme involving art, with Morgan playing “an art purist who bemoans the vapidness of art dealers.” There is no word on what the film will premiere or how big of a part Morgan will have. Opinion: Good for Morgan for landing something like this. That is a bit more than some part in a B level movie as there are some stars involved with this. I’m not sure how well Morgan will do in acting, but congra..
