It’s A Big One: WWE’s Backstage Reaction To Royal Rumble

Can you blame them? WWE runs several major events every year but some of them are at the top of the list for the entire wrestling industry. These are often the shows that have been around longer than others and have built up a reputation for doing something extra good. That was the case earlier this month, and now we have an idea of how the people in charge felt about the whole thing.

Last weekend, WWE presented its annual Royal Rumble event. The show featured a pair of Royal Rumble matches, plus an angle between Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns after the main event. According to PWInsider.com, WWE was “extremely happy” with the show, including being “thrilled” by the Peacock viewership. Later in the night, Triple H said that the event had the highest gate in the history of the Royal Rumble.

Opinion: This shouldn’t be the biggest surprise as the show went rather well. Royal Rumble is one of the better events of the year and having it work so well is a difficult thing to pull off. What matters is that WWE seems to have figured out a better way to entertain its fans, which was the case with this event. Now if only WWE can keep up this level of success in the future.
