The Ross Report Recap w/ John Pollock – Extreme Rules Analysis, Delivering on ‘Extreme’ Expectations, Ross to Call Samoa Joe vs. Brock Lesnar?…

Ross opens today’s show by speaking about the fact that wrestling commentary teams continue to  document the length of every Title reign. He can only assume that the higher-ups in each promotion want to have those stats discussed, but it’s starting to bother Ross because he doesn’t think it’s a necessary talking point.

He says that he was pleased to see Samoa Joe emerge victorious form the Fatal 5-way match at Extreme Rules, because he thinks a match between Joe and Brock Lesnar is a real money maker. He can’t wait to see  how WWE decides to book this program because if it’s done correctly, Ross thinks this can be a massive success for Joe, Lesnar and WWE as a whole.

Ross thought that all five men in that Fatal 5-way match came out of it stronger than they went into it. All five competitors had their chance to shine and none of them were really sacrificed to highlight another. He gives each man credit for carrying their weight Sunday night and delivering a terrific match.

Smith Hart In Hospice Care

Smith Hart announced on Facebook that he has entered Hospice Care. For those not aware, he’s the eldest child of Stu & Helen Hart and has been battling terminal prostate cancer in recent months.

Here is the announcement:

“I am now more comfortable after being moved into Hospice care. I would like to end any strife or suffering I have been involved with over my life. To anyone and everyone, cherish the moments you have in this world. Do not waste your time with hate or anger. To anyone I have offended, mistreated or been at odds with, please accept my humblest of apologies. While I may not have always been everyone’s cup of tea, I always did my best to be the person I was most inspired by, my father. I would also like to thank my dear friend Carl Leduc, for making the visit from Montreal to come see me. It meant the world and I really like the new phone.”

Kelly Kelly’s Husband Goes Off on Fan Who Called Her A “Self-Centered Worthless Pig”

Former WWE Diva Kelly Kelly posted this photo and message on Instagram reflecting on her visit to Afghanistan years ago with WWE:

https://www.instagram.com/p/BUsH-BulZE1/

One male fan didn’t like her post and wrote the following response:

“Hahaha you post a picture of yourself on #MemorialDay could you be anymore of a self centered worthless pig?”

Her husband Sheldon Souray had the following remarks to say towards the fan’s negative comments:

looks like you lost a fight with a barbell there you meathead. Does it make you feel like less of a man that a young lady that was/is adored and admired by so many brave men and women protecting our country for dipshits like you?!! Does it bother you that My wife is a young successful powerful woman with a heart of gold that put her life on the line to put a smile on a few faces?! Whatever the reason is that you felt compelled to write a moronic post on her page, just shows what an absolute piece of shit you are. I can’t respond to every big dumb idiot like yourself that trolls a superstar like @thebarbieblank but I couldn’t let it slide that you are a giant clown. So next time your trolling her social media looking at her stunning pictures that her fans really enjoy, keep your mouth shut. It’s hard to be dumber than you look but you’ve proven your point.”

Kelly responded to her husband sticking up for her with the following:

“that’s my man always having my back !!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ love you baby!!!! #killedem @bigguyheat take a walk you troll because my man just showed you whose boss!!!!!”

Jinder Mahal Says Nobody Sees The Work He’s Putting In

Jinder Mahal recently spoke with GQ. Here are highlights from the interview:

His go-to fast food restaurant: “You can actually eat very clean at Chipotle. They have white rice, they have brown rice, and they have chicken. I stay away from the guac and the sour cream. I just get lettuce, double-meat chicken, and a white or brown rice. Sometimes you don’t realize how bad you feel from just eating out all the time at fast food places. I haven’t eaten McDonald’s or any other fast food in I don’t know how long. Not even pizza.”

Which supplements he takes: “I actually take quite a few supplements. I have protein with me all the time. I always have branched-chain amino acids. I take those with water before my morning cardio. They prevent muscle breakdown. I take a magnesium supplement before my workout because it prevents cramping. You know, I have to wrestle every night and I have to train so hard—sometimes I’ll work out and then later on I feel my back starting to cramp up. So magnesium helps a lot with that. I take multivitamin packs. There’s like 10 different multivitamins and digestive enzymes all in one little packet. I take one packet of those every morning. I take creatine and a pre-workout before I work out. And I always switch my pre-workout. Every bottle I finish, I get a different one so my body never gets used to it.”

Instagram post responding to fans thinking he’s on PEDs: “I don’t think people realize the hard work that goes into it. Nobody sees the work I’m putting in the gym. Nobody sees me doing cardio first thing in the morning. Nobody sees me lugging around that suitcase. And just generally, people don’t have that much knowledge about diet and the effects that diet alone can have on your body. If you see a bodybuilder before they’re in competition shape to when they get into competition shape, that’s all dieting, carb cutting, and macronutrients. I mean, you can totally transform yourself just by cutting carbs and even something as simple as drinking a gallon of water a day. The average person—like, 90 percent of the average population—is dehydrated. That’s another thing that I do now, which has been a huge key.”

Chris Jericho Explains Why He Would Never Be A Part-time Wrestler

Uproxx recently interviewed the Ayatollah of Rock n’ Rolla, Chris Jericho himself. Jericho talked about a number of things, including how he balances his music career with his wrestling schedule.

When the interviewer, Brandan Stroud, asked Y2J if he would ever wrestle as a part-timer in the WWE, the self-proclaimed “G.O.A.T” had a great response and I quote: (quote credits to iwnerd.com)

“No, I won’t do it because that’s not the way it should be. When you’re there, you should go on the road. That’s how you help guys to learn. That’s how I got better. This whole year I got way better because of working with the younger guys, who then were learning from me as well. They need that. And it was a great year with just an awesome locker room, great people, lots of fun. I had as much fun out of the ring as I did in the ring. And in 2015, all I did was live events. I didn’t do TV at all. It’s like the anti-type Brock Lesnar. I wouldn’t have a problem doing that either. Maybe I’ll never go back on TV again. Maybe I’ll just do live events”

This response alone proves why Jericho is so widely respected by the wrestlers, bookers and fans alike. A legitimate legend indeed.

Can Anything Help The Raw Product Right Now?

No matter how hard (or not hard) they may try, Raw fails to produce a good show throughout the entire three hours. This past Raw was no different.

The beginning half of the show was solid. You had a six man tag match featuring Dean Ambrose and The Hardy Boys taking on The Miz, Sheamus, and Cesaro. A little bit later on and you had the triple-threat match between Bray Wyatt, Samoa Joe, and Finn Balor. Both were great, fun matches.

Then comes Alexa Bliss and her “This Is Your Life” skit on Bayley. While WWE thought they were doing something good here, it was quite the opposite. Let me be blunt, it was horrible. Possibly the worst segment I have seen of 2017.

Every episode of Raw has something that just brings the crowd out of it. It may be skits like these or just boring matches that kill the crowd so bad that the main event match cannot revive them. Maybe some of the hate is just unfair, but a lot of it happens for a reason. So what in the world can Raw do to bring the fans back in?

One thing WWE could do is a shocking turn. Remember in 2014 when Seth Rollins betrayed Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns or NXT Takeover Chicago when Tomasso Ciampa turned on Johnny Gargano?

These were turns that left the crowd stunned with their mouths dragging the floor. Is there any turn today on Raw that could drop jaws like that?

Rumors are circulating that Cass is set to turn on Enzo, but that won’t get people talking nonstop. However, there is one tag team in the division that would send noise through the crowd if they broke up violently. That team would be The Hardy Boys.

Now I understand they just returned to the WWE, but think about how shocking it would be based off of that one reason?

Let’s say that at Extreme Rules, Sheamus and Cesaro defeat The Hardy Boys to become the new Raw Tag Team Champions. While this infuriates both brothers, Jeff takes it worse. This leads to him attacking Matt (bet you didn’t see that coming) and laying him in a pool of his own blood (metaphorically speaking).

It would take the air out of the arena simply because no one would be expecting it. Fans would expect Matt to turn on Jeff before Jeff turns on Matt. It would keep the fans wondering what is going to happen next which means more eyes will be tuning in to Monday Night Raw.

John Morrison on WWE & Impact Copying Lucha Underground

While speaking to the Buzzards Wrestling Podcast, former WWE Superstar John Morrison asked about WWE and Impact Wrestling copying Lucha Underground’s filming style for matches like “House of Horrors” and “Total Non Stop Deletion.” Morrison responded:

“Totally agree. I feel like Lucha Underground was the first promotion that’s really integrated the gritty, action movie feel with wrestling. Shooting the vignettes that stitch Lucha Underground together, with coverage like a TV show or a movie has set that trend.

“You’re right, the Total Deletion and WWE House of Horrors and even some of the costumes in WWE. I feel the trends were started in Lucha Underground.”

Where Does Rusev Go From Here?

For those of you who may not know, Rusev was set for a big match at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view. After being traded to Smackdown Live in the Superstar Shakeup, Rusev declined to show up on the brand unless he received a WWE Championship match. It looked like this was the direction WWE was going in. It would have been perfect too. Randy Orton vs. Rusev.

Orton could win in his hometown and Rusev becomes a member of Smackdown Live. However, plans changed and Jinder Mahal is the current WWE Champion. Orton gets his rematch for the belt at Money In The Bank, which leaves Rusev as the odd man out.

So where does he go from here?

There’s the obvious choice of coming out during the championship match and costing Orton the match. This would in turn set up a feud between Rusev and Orton. Rusev would look strong if he came out of this feud on top, but WWE would probably not have Orton lose two feuds in a row.

The next option would be interfering in the Money In The Bank ladder match, costing a superstar their chance at winning. It could work, but I have a better idea. Rusev should attack AJ Styles before the match, take his place in the ladder match, and capture the briefcase.

You may be questioning yourself, wondering how on earth is this a good idea? Well, let me explain. Styles is the one guy in this ladder match (besides Nakamura possibly) who really doesn’t need to be in this match. They can get a shot at the gold any day. They are both pretty expendable at this point. Styles will more than likely get a shot within the upcoming year, so having him miss out on this opportunity won’t hurt him.

If Smackdown Live wants to capitalize on the return of Rusev, then he needs to return in a big way. Keep him off of television until the night of Money in the Bank. Rusev shows up and destroys Styles, making him unable to compete in the ladder match. Shane McMahon declares Rusev as the replacement since he is the one that caused all this mess. Rusev goes on to shock the world and win the Money in the Bank contract. It’s an outcome few, if any, would expect to happen going into the event. Seeing as how Smackdown Live has been booking on the shock value as of late, this would be right up their alley.

Not only would we see Rusev return in grand force, but we would also see him thrown into a rivalry with the hottest guy in the WWE. It’s a win-win for Rusev, who hasn’t been utilized the way he should’ve been throughout his short career. Rusev has all the tools to be a mega heel, and him going against Styles would only add to it.

Jim Ross Doesn’t Expect The Rock to Return to the Ring

While speaking to The AV Club, Jim Ross was asked about dream matches that still have a feasible chance on happening. Ross started naming off Superstars and when he mentioned The Rock, he had the following remarks to say:

“I think Rock is probably gonna be out of the equation…f he runs for President, he may come back for one more match to reconnect with that audience.”

Bischoff on Wrestling Recap – Ed Nordholm Playing ‘Small Ball’, Opinion on Mahal’s Victory, Music Rights in WCW, More!

Bischoff is joined on today’s show by his co-host Nick Hausman.

Bischoff opens today’s show by discussing Ed Nordholm’s decision to divulge personal messages between himself and Matt Hardy to the wrestling media. This is a whole new level of small ball in Bischoff’s opinion, and it stinks of desperation. It’s a very amateur move, and by sending out this information Bischoff suggests that Nordholm is basically wearing a sign around his neck that says ‘mark’.

Bischoff believes that the harder IMPACT pushes back against The Hardys in this battle over the ‘Broken Universe, in the court of public opinion they will be found guilty. They’re bringing a lot of bad publicity to their brand by fighting this war, and they’d be much better served to just let it go.

He believes that this whole thing is probably one big running joke within WWE at the moment, because it’s incredibly stupid. The fact that Ed Nordholm and IMPACT tried to ‘sell’ WWE a gimmick is hilarious in Bischoff’s opinion, and there’s no way anyone at WWE’s head offices are taking this serious at all.

Jinder Mahal Claims He’s Been Tested Multiple Times & Never Had an Issue

While speaking to The Times of India, Jinder Mahal made the following remarks about fans being critical of his recent physique transformation.

“I don’t know what kind of criticism that was. I worked hard in the gym a lot. All the WWE talents are drug tested by a third-party agency and I have been tested multiple times and never had an issue, so you know my transformation is all diet, all hard work. I am a tested athlete like every other WWE wrestler. I have no special privilege; nothing like that. I look like an athlete, I perform like an athlete, I carry myself like an athlete and WWE was not hesitant to put me in a WWE title match.”
