Here’s Why A Monday Night Raw Match Did Not End As Planned

What might have been. There are all kinds of wrestling shows every single week and some of the more important ones take place on television. That can make for some interesting moments, though the interest might not always be positive. Sometimes bad things are going to happen and there is no way around it, which was the case this week on Monday Night Raw.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Nikka Ash defeated Tamina, after which Tamina’s music played and she was announced as the winner. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the issue came from the fact that Tamina was supposed to win the match. Tamina kicked out at two but the referee did not see it, putting the blame on the referee. Following the match, the referee was said to be apologetic, though there is no word on any punishment for him.
That is the kind of thing you don’t see very often. Check out the match plus some other referee issues:

New Title Match Set For WWE Extreme Rules

Add it to the card. We are less than two weeks away from WWE Extreme Rules and the show still has a lot of work to do. While a lot of the card has been set, there has not been anything actually extreme added to the show so far. With that not being a factor, WWE is going to have to rely on the matches themselves to carry the show, which is what they tried to do again this week.
WWE.com has announced that the Usos will defend the SmackDown Tag Team Titles against the Street Profits at Extreme Rules. This comes after the Profits defeated the Usos in a title match via disqualification last week on SmackDown when Roman Reigns interfered. There has been no stipulation announced for the match so far, which has been the case with every match on the card.
There is already a story here. Check out how the match was set up plus both other entries in their series:

Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar Confirmed For Crown Jewel 2021

The Tribal Chief vs. The Beast. WWE has confirmed that the long-awaited showdown between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar will take place at Crown Jewel 2021. As of now, it is for the Universal Championship, but that could change following the events of the upcoming Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
Lesnar made his return to Smackdown this past week:

From WWE.com:
At SummerSlam, Reigns overcame 16-time World Champion John Cena in a hard-fought matchup, only to be surprised by the sudden reemergence of The Beast. Lesnar subsequently returned to SmackDown where he ordered his one-time Advocate Paul Heyman, turned Special Counsel to Reigns, to accept his challenge for a match against the dominant titleholder. Following Lesnar’s scuffle with The Bloodline, The Head of the Table indeed accepted the challenge from The Conqueror, only to be greeted by The Demon, which reminded the WWE Universe that there is already an explosive Universal Title Match estab..

Update On A Pair Of NXT Contract Statuses

Get your calendars ready. It seems that you can’t go more than a day or two at this point without WWE having to deal with another contract issue. So many of their wrestlers have had their deals either expire or are on the verge of expiring, with several of them either leaving or seeming to consider leaving. Now we have an update on another contract status, which is related to another WWE deal.
According to Fightful Select, Candice LeRae’s NXT contract expires at some point in 2022. This means that her deal does not line up with her husband Johnny Gargano’s, whose deal is set to expire on December 3. LeRae is currently out of the ring due to her pregnancy, but she has insisted on remaining a television character for as long as possible. It is not clear what either of the two plan to do when their deals expire.
LeRae has all the tools needed to be a star. Check out what she can do in the ring:

WWE RUMOR: Vince McMahon Thinks He Has A Future WrestleMania Main Eventer

He has their attention. Every now and then, you see someone make their debut in wrestling and instantly the star power is right there. You know that you are seeing something special and it is a matter of time before they become something important. Sometimes though, only the promotion sees that in someone, which might be the case with the latest prospect in NXT.
According to Wrestlingnews.co, Vince McMahon views Von Wagner as a potential future WrestleMania main eventer. Wagner is the son of former WWE star Wayne Bloom, who wrestled as Beau Beverly for the company in the early 1990s. Wagner made his debut during this week’s edition of NXT as a replacement for Kyle O’Reilly in a four way match for the vacant NXT Title, which was won by Tommaso Ciampa.
You might need to get used to him. Check out Wagner and his more famous father:

VIDEO: Rosario Dawson Gets Physical During AEW Return

Welcome back. AEW has been a complete game changer in the wrestling industry and that is a good thing. Above all else, it is offering wrestling fans a new top level wrestling promotion and a lot of that is due to the roster. The company has a great mixture of talent available and some of them are already established names. One such name made his return this week.
This week’s AEW Dynamite saw the return of Cody Rhodes after a month’s long absense. Rhodes made his return to save actress Rosario Dawson from Malakai Black, who was threatening Dawson as she sat in the crowd. This comes after Black attacked Rhodes several weeks ago and put him on the shelf. Rhodes and Dawson are both judges on the Go Big Show. Black and Rhodes will face each other in a rematch next week at AEW Grand Slam.
It should be a good one. Check out a clip from the segment plus some of their better moments in AEW:

Huge Dream Match Set For Next Week’s AEW Grand Slam

I’d say it fits the description. One of the terms that you will hear fairly often in wrestling is “dream match”. While this is the case on occasion, there are a lot of matches where you have to wonder who is having such a dream in the first place. The good thing is that there are dream matches out there and now we are ready to see another one actually taking place.
Earlier this month at AEW All Out, Bryan Danielson made his big debut to close the show. The following week on Dynamite, Danielson made it clear that he had his sights set on AEW World Champion Kenny Omega. This week on Dynamite, Danielson challenged Omega to a non-title match, which Omega accepted. The match will take place at Grand Slam on September 22 and will mark their first singles match since 2009.
Danielson has hit the ground running in AEW. Check out his time with the company:

REVIEW: Cyber Sunday 2006: There Can Be Only On

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Cyber Sunday 2006
Date: November 5, 2006
Location: US Bank Arena, Cincinnati, Ohio
Attendance: 7,000
Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler
It’s time for the interactive show as we have the fans picking a lot of the specifics about the card. This can range from stipulations to titles on the line to participants, though hopefully we don’t have more of the two joke options and one real one. The main event is the Champion of Champions match, which certainly sounds big. Let’s get to it.
The opening video talks about ho..

AEW Dynamite Results – September 15, 2021

Dynamite
Date: September 15, 2021
Location: Prudential Center, Newark, New Jersey
Commentators: Excalibur, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, CM Punk
Things have been getting big in a hurry around here and that is going to be the case again this week. This time around we have the in-ring debut of Adam Cole, which should make for quite the moment. Other than that, Grand Slam is on the horizon and that should be an even bigger show. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
CM Punk, on commentary tonight, gets a big introduction and dives into the crowd again.
Adam Cole vs. Frankie Kazarian The fans are behind Cole as Kazarian takes him over a few times. Cole flips out of a headlock and backdrops Kazarian over the top and onto the apron for a crash. Back in and Cole takes some bows but Kazarian hits the slingshot Fameasser over the ropes. That doesn’t seem to do much to Cole, who is back with right hands into the chinlock. That’s broken up as well and Kazarian grabs a leglock while cranking on the a..

KB’s Review: Welcome Change

Note that this is being written before the debut of the new NXT, so I have no idea what took place on this week’s show.
NXT has been around for a very long time now and has become one of the staples of modern wrestling. There have been some amazing matches, all time classic shows and incredible talents to come out of the promotion, but that is not good enough for some people. By “some people”, I mean Vince McMahon, but you really don’t need anyone else when he is involved.
Over the last few weeks/months, word has gotten out that McMahon is ready to blow NXT up and reset a lot of the ideas of the promotion back to the original days. That has been the big boogeyman for a while now and it is coming to get you. I know it sounds rather scary in ways as it sounding more like NXT Night Raw, but there was something that caught my eye which gives me some hope.
Earlier this week, a report came out from Fightful Select saying that NXT was going to have more characters going forward, albeit in ..

Kofi Kingston Reveals WWE’s Communication Issues With Superstars

They might need to work on that. There are a lot of problems with WWE today and some of them are bigger than others. It often seems that there is limited planning, as you will often see matches announced and then not presented, as it feels like the show is changed at the last minute. That seems to be the case, and it also appears that the wrestlers themselves are often in the dark about what is going on.
In an interview with 106.1 KMEL, Kofi Kingston mentioned that he found out what he would be in an eight man tag on this week’s Monday Night Raw via Twitter. This was also the case the previous week when Kingston and Xavier Woods participated in Tag Team Turmoil. Kingston said that the wrestlers are often the last people to find out what they are going to be doing and that if he did not use social media, he would not find out what he was doing until he made it to the building that night.
It is quite the interview. Check out the full video (with Kingston’s comments beginning at about 4..

RUMOR: Bray Wyatt May Be On His Way To A Few Companies

That would be a big one. AEW has changed up the way the wrestling world has worked as the promotion has opened up a huge door for all kinds of other wrestlers. Rather than having every top level wrestler sticking around WWE, there is now a new place for all of these wrestlers to go. Several wrestlers have done just that, and now we might be seeing another one.
According to Wrestlingnews.co, Bray Wyatt may be making his AEW debut at the September 29 edition of Dynamite. The event will take place in Rochester, New York, the hometown of Brodie Lee, who was the Exalted One of the Dark Order. This comes as Wyatt sent out a tweet saying that he will see us very soon and said “revenge is a confession of pain.” This comes as Impact Wrestling has also been pursuing Wyatt as well, meaning there is no guarantee of where he will be debuting.
Everything will be clear.
I’ll see you all very soon.
Revenge is a confession of pain.
