There Is A Special Catch To A Recent Surprise NXT Title Change

It was a bit of a surprise. NXT has a lot of different things to make work as it is not your usual wrestling show. Rather than just standing alone as its own product, NXT also has to figure out a way to develop its wrestlers to be ready to move up to the next level. That can be made even more confusing when main roster wrestlers show up in NXT, which has been the case as of late. Now we have a better idea of what WWE is doing.
This week’s NXT featured a surprise title change as Dolph Ziggler won the NXT Title from Bron Breakker in a triple threat also including Tommaso Ciampa. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Ziggler’s title reign is expected to be a short one as it is designed to have Breakker win the title back on a major show. While not specified, this is likely NXT Stand & Deliver, which will take place on April 2 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
Opinion: I don’t think this is exactly a big surprise and it isn’t exactly a big deal as Ziggler pinned Ciampa t..

WWE May Be Calling Up A Top NXT Star Sooner Rather Than Later

Get ready for him? WWE has made a lot of changes to its roster in the last few years and that means they are going to need to fix things up a lot. After letting so many wrestlers go, there are a lot of spots available on both of the rosters. Those spots are going to need to be filled in, which is where NXT comes in, and it seems that we might be seeing someone move up the ladder very quickly.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, former NXT Champion Bron Breakker is being discussed for a promotion to the main WWE roster sooner rather than later. Breakker lost the NXT Title earlier this week and there is a chance that he could lose his rematch and come up to the main roster. Breakker made his debut on NXT in September when NXT 2.0 launched and has wrestled less than twenty televised matches in his career.
Opinion: I’m not liking this idea and unfortunately it is something I could see happening. Breakker is a marvel and someone who feels like a can’t miss prospect, but the key word th..

Here Are Some Interesting Details On Jeff Hardy’s AEW Debut

They have something in mind. AEW has changed the way modern wrestling works and that is through a rather versatile roster. The company has offered several wrestlers a new place to go, with some of those names being seasoned veterans. This has included some major signings, another of which took place this week. Now we know a bit of an interesting detail about the situation.
This week’s AEW Dynamite featured the debut of Jeff Hardy, who has signed with the company after leaving WWE in December. Jeff saved his brother Matt, along with Sting and Darby Allin, from a beating at the hands of the AFHO. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the team was wearing the same gear they wore in their 20s as a tag team. In addition, according to Fightful Select, Matt has adjusted his AEW contract so that it ends at the same time as Jeff’s, though it is not clear when their contracts expire.
Opinion: I’m not the biggest Hardys fan but this was certainly a moment that could lead to some bigger stuff d..

Here’s The Odd Advice Bron Breakker Was Given At Monday Night Raw

Good advice? NXT is a rather unique wrestling promotion as it has to be its own show while also serving as WWE’s developmental territory. As a result, it needs to develop wrestlers and get them ready to go to the main roster, which can be easier said than done. One major NXT star made his main roster debut this week though and he seemed to get some unique advice.
Former NXT Champion Bron Breakker made his Monday Night Raw debut on this week’s show, teaming with Tommaso Ciampa to defeat Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode in a tag match. Breakker appeared on the One-On-One podcast after the show and discussed his appearance. He mentioned that several wrestlers gave him advice, with the advice that stood out the most being that he needed to smile more. There is no word on when Breakker will return to Monday Night Raw.
This was an interesting interview. Check out the full video:

Injured Monday Night Raw Star Offers Positive Update

It would be nice to have him back. Injuries are one of the worst things that can happen to a wrestler as you do not know how long they are going to be on the shelf. What seems like something that is only going to keep them out of action for a short time could take months if things are more serious than they seem. That was the case with a Monday Night Raw star, but now we might have an idea of when he could be back.
Monday Night Raw star MVP was a guest on the most recent edition of Wrestling With Freddie and mentioned that he is working to rehab his injured knee. MVP has was injured during a tag match in September 2021, suffering a torn meniscus. The tear has since healed but MVP has been had to work to regain the atrophied muscles. There is no word on when MVP will be returning to the ring or WWE television.
Opinion: This is always good to hear as MVP is one of the better all around performers on Monday Night Raw. He is excellent as Bobby Lashley’s manager but having him get in the ..

REVIEW: WrestleMania 10: The Two Punch Classic

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Wrestlemania X
Date: March 20, 1994
Location: Madison Square Garden, New York City, New York
Attendance: 18,065

If there is one thing that WWE does well, it is big milestone episodes where they are able to look back on what they have done before and praise themselves for it. The good thing is that this show has a lot going for it on its own, including the legendary ladder match and the two World Title matches, along with a second instant classic. Let’s get to it.

AEW Trio Splits Up As Manager Gets Fired

It was nice while it lasted. A manager can do a lot of things for a wrestler, including giving them someone to do the talking. That can make for a rather lucrative association, as talking and emotions may not be their strong suit. At the same time though, there are times when the association might not make the most sense and something needs to change. That was the case this week.
This week on AEW Dynamite, FTR fired Tully Blanchard as their manager. The incident took place in a backstage segment where FTR talked about wanting to get their hands on the Young Bucks and ReDRagon for the sake of revenge. Blanchard said that they needed to focus on getting the Tag Team Titles back, but FTR spoke about wanting to take care of their families. There is no word on what Blanchard may do next.
Opinion: This is something that is kind of overdue as there was little need for Blanchard to be with the team any longer. He made for a good manager and a cool association, but FTR can talk with the best o..

Longtime AEW Stable Breaks Up, New One Takes Its Place

It can’t last forever. There are a lot of stables in wrestling history and several of them have been nothing short of great. It can be an easy way to get multiple people onto a shot at once and offer a big story at the same time. Sometimes you get something very special, but there is almost always a split for the group as well. That was the case this week, with the biggest stable AEW has ever seen.
This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured a segment between Chris Jericho and Eddie Kingston which saw the two of them shaking hands. After the two shook hands, Daniel Garcia and 2.0 came to the ring to attack Kingston. Jericho’s Inner Circle teammates Santana and Ortiz came to the ring but were attacked by Jericho, who turned on the two of them to split up the team. Jake Hager joined Jericho, Garcia and 2.0, with Jericho dubbing the new team the Jericho Appreciation Society. The Inner Circle originally debuted on October 9, 2019, the second week of Dynamite.
Opinion: This is a surprise,..

Bray Wyatt Making First Wrestling Related Appearance In Seven Months

He’s at it again. Every now and then, you see a wrestler come along who catches your attention. There is something about them that makes you pay attention and you cannot take your eyes off of them. That is not something that a promotion should pass up as it means you can go in a lot of different ways. One such name will be making something of a return to wrestling after a long time away.
Windham Rotunda, better known as Bray Wyatt, will be making his first wrestling related appearance at the Showcase of Legends 7 in Albany, New York on Sunday. Rotunda will be taking photos, signing autographs and doing a meet and greet at the convention, which will also include names such as Trish Stratus, Rikishi, Dustin Rhodes, Erick Redbeard and several others. This is Rotunda’s first wrestling appearance since he was released from WWE on July 31, 2021. There is no word on when or where he will be returning to the ring.
Opinion: I’m still not sure what to expect from Rotunda but it is a good sign ..

Title Change Takes Place In AEW Dynamite Main Event

History has been made. Titles have been one of the most important parts of the wrestling world for a long time now and that continues to be the case to this day. A wrestler winning a championship is something anyone can understand with ease and it often makes for a rather exciting moment on any given show. That was the case in the main event of one of this week’s shows.
The main event of this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite saw Scorpio Sky defeat Sammy Guevara to become the new TNT Champion. Sky won the match with his TKO when Guevara was distracted by Paige Van Zant attacking his girlfriend Tay Conti at ringside. The win marks Sky’s first singles title reign in AEW and second championship overall, as he was part of the original Tag Team Champions.
Opinion: This is the kind of title change that needed to take place as Sky seems ready to lose the title to Wardlow next week. That is not a bad thing either, as Sky got his win and his title, which are the important things for him in the s..

You’ll Be Seeing More Of Miro In AEW For A Long Time To Come

Stick around for a bit. There are all kinds of wrestling promotions in the world today and most of them continue to fight over as much talent as they can. It means a lot for any promotion to be able to keep a wrestler around, though that can be easier said than done. One of the best ways is to get someone to sign a long term deal and one of the bigger promotions has done just that.
According to Fightful Select, Miro has signed a new contract extension with AEW, which will keep him with the company for another four years. Miro debuted in AEW in September 2020 and is a former TNT Champion, though he has been out of action since November 2021 with a hamstring injury. There is no word on when he will be returning to the ring or what he will be doing when he gets back.
Opinion: This is the kind of move that is a great thing for AEW. Miro is someone who came in and made a big deal, so now he can continue to do that for a long time to come. I want to see how far he can go in AEW, as you do ..

BREAKING: Jeff Hardy Makes AEW Debut

There he is. Wrestlers jump from promotion to promotion fairly frequently these days, but that doesn’t make it any less exciting. It can be a lot of fun to see someone show up in a different company, as you never know what they might be doing. Sometimes it is nearly impossible to hide who is going to be showing up though and that was the case again with the latest debut.
Jeff Hardy made his AEW debut this week on Dynamite, saving his brother Matt, Sting and Darby Allin from an attack at the hands of Andrade El Idolo, Private Party and the Butcher and the Blade. This came three months after Jeff was released from WWE after walking out on a match at a live event. There is no word on what Jeff will be doing now that he is a part of AEW.
Opinion: This isn’t exactly a surprise and that is not a bad thing. Your mileage on the Hardys getting back together again might vary but at least we have gotten to the point and can see their latest reunion. I don’t blame AEW for trying something like t..
