Big Update On Becky Lynch’s WWE Ring Status

That could have been worse. We are less than three weeks away from WrestleMania 38 and that means the show has started to come together. You can see most of the matches from here, including ten that have been officially confirmed for the show. WWE still has a lot of work to do, but they almost suffered a setback last week due to an injury. Now though it seems that it was not as bad as originally thought.
Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch missed this week’s Monday Night Raw after suffering an injury to her voice box the previous night at a live event. Lynch was back in the ring this Saturday though, wrestling in a six woman tag at another live event in Columbus, Georgia. It is not clear how much she did in the match, but she was at least present for the match and on the apron. Lynch is scheduled to defend her title against Bianca Belair at WrestleMania.

How Big E.’s Injury Changed WWE’s Plans This Week

They weren’t done yet. A wrestling show can cover a lot of ground in just a few years. That is the kind of thing that makes fans want to pay their money to come and see the event, but sometimes you need a little more than just the main show. If you can watch the same thing from home, there needs to be some incentive to come watch in person. That was the case again this week.
This week’s SmackDown featured a dark match both before and after the show went off the air. According to Fightful Select, the pre-show dark match saw Xia Li defeat Shotzi. The post show dark match was originally planned to see Big E. and Kofi Kingston team up with Drew McIntyre to face Sami Zayn, Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss. Due to Big E.’s injury, McIntyre defeated Austin Theory instead. Both McIntyre and Theory appeared on the show but neither had a match.
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that can make for some interesting situations. You don’t know who you might get to see at a show like this and the main ..

Another Star Finished With Impact Wrestling

They lost another one. The wrestling landscape has changed a lot over the last few years and most of those changes have been centered around AEW and WWE. Those are not the only important promotions in the world though as there are other companies that make moves on a regular basis. Now it appears that another name has left one of those promotions as well.
According to Fightful Select, Fallah Bahh is finished with Impact Wrestling. Bahh has been removed from the Impact Wrestling roster page and has been added to The Wrestling Code video game’s lineup, which was not allowed for Impact stars. There is no word on why Bahh left and nothing to suggest any bad blood between the two sides. This ends a run of about five years with the promotion, which has recently lost multiple wrestlers, including Jake Something last week.
Opinion: This shouldn’t be a huge surprise as Impact is bringing in a lot of new stars. That means that some of the older stars, especially those who have not been around ..

Very Good News On Two Injured Wrestlers

That could be worse. Injuries can be devastating to anyone in wrestling as you never know when one of them will take place. Some of them come out of nowhere due to a simple mistake in a match and those can often be the worst possible. What matters the most is how long it will take someone to get healthy and we have positive updates on a pair of injured wrestlers.
Both Big E. and Chelsea Green were injured over the last week and have now provided updates on their situations. Big E. was injured during a match this week on SmackDown and posted a video saying he had broken his neck. He has since sent out another video, announcing that his C1 and C6 vertebrae are fractured but not displaced. He also has no ligament or spinal cord damage. As a result, he will not need surgery, though there is no timetable for his return.
Green was injured during a match with Deonna Purrazzo at Impact Wrestling’s Sacrifice event. According to F4WOnline.com, Green suffered a fractured radius in her forearm. ..

REVIEW: WrestleMania 16: It’s All About The McMahons

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?

This was one of the shows that tied for the most votes for a redo but I’ve seen Wrestlemania X, the other option, more times than I really need to and this sounded more interesting. It’s kind of an infamous Wrestlemania as there are no singles matches on the entire show but it is the biggest show of the year in the best year WWE has ever seen. Let’s get to it.

Possible Reasons For Pete Dunne’s WWE Name Change (And They’re Bad)

There is a reason for that. Having the right name is one of the most important things that a wrestler can have. The wrong name can cause a problem for any wrestler as they might not be taken as seriously as they are supposed to be. Sometimes you see someone have their names changed in a way that seems to be a bit odd. That was the case this week, and now we might know what happened.
Pete Dunne made his SmackDown debut this week as the new associate of Sheamus and Ridge Holland, though he is now known as Butch. According to Fightful Select, the speculation is that the name is designed to be a Bushwhackers reference, as Holland’s real first name is Luke, who teamed with Butch as the Bushwhackers. In addition, a WWE alumnus felt that the name was a reference to the Butch character on the Little Rascals shorts, whose original run ended in 1944.
Opinion: I have no idea why WWE decided to change Dunne’s name and I think that might be for the best. This feels like their recent change from W..

Here Are Some More Matches To Expect For WrestleMania 38

More to come as they say. With just over three weeks to go before WrestleMania 38, it is time for WWE to have announced most of the card. That is the case, but it is barely over half. There are still a lot of matches that need to be set up and in theory, WWE knows what they are. That is the case in some situations, and now we might know what some of those matches are going to be.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that two more matches are currently scheduled to be added to the WrestleMania 38 card. First up, a United States Title match will see Finn Balor defending against Damian Priest, who he defeated to win the title. Second, a women’s battle royal is expected to be added. In addition, Natalya and a partner to be determined is expected to be added to the Women’s Tag Team Title triple threat, making it a fatal four way.
Opinion: I don’t think there are very many surprises there, but I’m not sure how much of a battle royal there is going to be. With eight women in the T..

Big E.’s Injury Has Changed WrestleMania 38 Plans

What could have been. Injuries are one of the worst things that can happen to anyone in wrestling. In addition and far secondary to the health issues that can come with them, they can derail someone’s storyline in the blink of an eye. No matter what they might have had going on, things can be in need of a change. That is the case again this week, as a horrible injury has changed some WrestleMania plans.
Big E. suffered a broken neck this week on SmackDown, when he landed on his head from a belly to belly suplex on the floor from Ridge Holland. According to Fightful Select, this will likely change WWE’s original plans for WrestleMania 38, which would have seen New Day face Holland, Sheamus and Butch, better known as Pete Dunne, who debuted before the SmackDown match. There is no word on what will be done with the match.
Opinion: What matters most here is Big E.’s health of course, but this is the kind of thing that is going to have quite the ripple effect throughout WWE. I know they c..

It’s time for another title match as Noam Dar will be defending the Heritage Cup against Joe Coffey in the main event. The other big match will see A-Kid facing Charlie Dempsey in what could be a spectacle of technical wrestling. This show is such a breath of air compared to the main roster stuff so let’s get to it.
We open with a look at the Heritage Cup Title match.
Opening sequence.
Charlie Dempsey vs. A-Kid During his entrance, Dempsey says he’s doing this himself, without Die Familie. Dempsey’s early cravate is escaped with a cartwheel and they stare at each other a bit. A-Kid gets taken down by the arm but reverses into a headlock. That is countered into a headscissors as they stay with the technical stuff to start. They go to the test of strength and flip around a bunch, with Dempsey bridging up on his neck.
A-Kid can’t break it down no matter what and give..

WATCH: Special Look At WWE’s Newest Series

You have to have the bad ones. At its core, wrestling is like any form of storytelling. You have your good characters and your evil ones, with the two of them winding up fighting each other in a big match somewhere down the line. In theory, that is where everything is supposed to go and there have been some excellent villains along the line. Now we are looking back at some of those.
WWE has released a trailer and description for the new Evil series, which will look at some of the greatest villains in the history of the company. The series is executive produced and directed by John Cena and will debut on Peacock on March 24 with the first season featuring eight episodes. The eight shows will look at the following, in order:

Here Is A Look At How AEW Handles Long Term Planning

It could work at almost any time. Titles are a big deal in wrestling and can make someone’s career. It shows that someone is moving up to the next level and that a company has given him their seal of approval. That is something that still works today and occasionally title changes are planned far in advance. It seems to be the case again and now we know some more about what was supposed to happen.
The main event of this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite saw Scorpio Sky defeat Sammy Guevara to become the new TNT Champion, marking the first singles title of his AEW career. According to Fightful Select, Sky’s title win had been planned since late 2021, with Cody Rhodes’ departure causing a minor change of plans. Rhodes had originally been planned to lose the title to Guevara but Rhodes was diagnosed with Coronavirus, causing the delay. Sky’s title win has long since been planned.
Opinion: This is one of the more interesting things about AEW, as they seem to have things planned out for a ve..

William Regal Apologized For A Mistake In His First AEW Dynamite Appearance

That is a professional. There are certain wrestlers who come across as nice, professional people. Sometimes you see someone who just comes off like they love wrestling and want to make it a better place for everyone involved. It makes for some very nice moments when they get to show that love to everyone else and that was the cae this week, even if it wasn’t how things were supposed to go.
This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson winning a tag match. After the match was over, Moxley and Danielson’s manager William Regal got in the ring to explain why he made his AEW debut on Sunday at Revolution. Regal spoke about his history in wrestling and how he knew both men, who he wanted to see succeed. However, Regal has since apologized on Twitter, saying that his promo went on too long, causing issues for the rest of the show. Regal said that he apologized to everyone backstage and that he should be leading by example. There is no word of any heat on Regal…
