AEW Might Be Teasing Bret Hart Showing Up

That would be a big pickup. Legends in wrestling are a bit different than in other sports, as legends can still pop up to be a part of the show every now and then. The story has to be set up in the right way, but it is something that can be done. Having the right legend in the right spot can be a great thing and it might be happening again with one of the biggest names in wrestling history.
This week on AEW Dynamite, the Young Bucks mocked FTR, saying they could bring in “the best manager there is” but it wouldn’t be enough to help FTR beat them. While not confirmed, this could be hinting at Bret Hart in, based on Hart’s “best there is, best there was and best there ever will be” catchphrase. Hart has appeared before for AEW, unveiling the AEW World Title at Double Or Nothing 2019.
Opinion: I’m not sure if I buy this one, as Hart coming in would be a nice thing to see but not exactly necessary. Hart was not known for his talking abilities and it isn’t like FTR needs someone to handle..

History Has Been Made (Again!): Title Change Takes Place On AEW Dynamite

It’s one of their strong suits. AEW has not been around for a very long time compared to other promotions, though they do have some strong traditions. One of their bigger ones is the way they treat their titles. The company’s championships have been treated as the most important things in the entire promotion and a title change makes a difference. That was the case again this week.
The main event of this week’s AEW Dynamite saw Thunder Rosa defeat Britt Baker to become the new AEW Women’s Champion. Rosa won the title in a cage match after giving baker a Fire Thunder Driver onto thumbtacks. The match was a rematch of last year’s St. Patrick’s Day Slam, when Rosa defeated Baker, who had held the title since May 30, 2021 for a reign of 290 days.
Opinion: This was a title change that felt like it had been coming for a long time now and that is not always a bad thing. Baker had been champion for the better part of a year and there was little reason for her to hold onto it any longer. Rosa..

AEW Dynamite Results – March 16, 2022 (St. Patrick’s Day Slam)

Dynamite
Date: March 16, 2022
Location: Freeman Coliseum, San Antonio, Texas
Commentators: Excalibur, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone
It’s time for another major show with St. Patrick’s Day Slam and we actually have a rematch from last year’s edition. This week will see Thunder Rosa challenging Britt Baker for the Women’s Title inside a cage following their classic war last year. Other than that, Wardlow gets his TNT Title shot so let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Jurassic Express/Hangman Page vs. Adam Cole/ReDRagon Jungle Boy hurricanranas Cole down to start but gets sent into the corner so Fish can come in to crank on the arm. That doesn’t last long as it’s off to Luchasaurus, who sends the villains outside but gets kicked off the apron. Fish posts him to take over and it’s time to work over the leg back inside. O’Reilly twists the knee around but Luchasaurus fights his way out and the hot tag brings in Page to clean house.

WATCH: “Stone Cold” Steve Austin Names Himself Special Guest Referee

That approach will work. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show a full segment from the March 7, 2011 episode of Raw. In the segment, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin names himself the special guest referee for a match between Michael Cole and Jerry “The King” Lawler at WrestleMania.
You can see the segment in its entirety below:
[This post contains video, click to play]

From WWE.com:
Last week, Michael Cole announced that his trainer for his WrestleMania match against Jerry “The King” Lawler will be Jack Swagger. This week, the other boot dropped. Cole revealed his choice as the special guest referee: JBL! Only one problem.
Before The Lonestar Loudmouth could sign the contract, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin confronted the two. After stunning JBL, The Texas Rattlesnake signed on the dotted line to become the match’s special guest referee and chased off Cole.
Editor’s Opinion:
I love segments like this. It’s always fun to see Austin come out and do what he doe..

WATCH: “Stone Cold” Steve Austin vs. The Rock From WrestleMania 19 (XIX)

The third time’s a charm. WWE has posted a new video to their YouTube channel, which shows the full match between “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and The Rock from WrestleMania 19. It was the third match between the two on the “grandest stage of them all.”
You can see the match in its entirety below:
[This post contains video, click to play]

As mentioned, this was the third meeting between the two WWE legends at WrestleMania. Austin had been victorious at WrestleMania 14 and 17; however, The Rock was able to pick up the victory in this final contest between the two. This match was a classic and sent each superstar on their own separate journey.
Editor’s Opinion:
Oh man, do I remember this one. The Rock was playing an arrogant, Hollywood heel, who was constantly badmouthing the fans and singing songs about how much he hated being in the various towns that he was in. It was during this time that he even had a brief encounter with “The Hurricane” that was absolutely hilarious! These two a..

KB’s Review: The Hall Of Hall

I’m not going to bother suggesting anything else this week. Over the weekend, news broke that Scott Hall has suffered three heart attacks due to complications after hip replacement surgery. On Monday, Hall was taken off of life support and passed away later that night. Today we are going to be looking at some different parts of Hall’s career and what made him the legend that he is.
We’ll start with the big stuff, and by that I mean what Hall could do in the ring. He was a bigger guy in the Drew McIntyre size range and could work against anyone from Bret Hart or Undertaker, making him a very versatile star. That is the kind of thing that let him do all kinds of things against a variety of opponents and that was the case throughout almost all of his career.
That was on display with the ladder matches against Shawn Michaels, both of which completely paved the way for ladder matches for years to come. Hall and Michaels had some of the most amazing matches ever, with the first being all a..

Update On Monday Night Raw Stars Heading To NXT

You’ll be seeing more of them. The WWE roster has been shaken up in a big way in the last year and a half, as WWE has released all kinds of names from the company. That does not leave a lot of room for movement, but WWE still has enough wrestlers to do a few things. A lot of their remaining moves involve NXT and you might be seeing more of those taking place going forward.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE wants to have a Monday Night Raw star appear on NXT every week. The idea will be to build up the appearance on Monday Night Raw, with the idea to help build up NXT. Monday Night Raw’s Dolph Ziggler is the reigning NXT Champion and names such as Robert Roode, the Miz and the Mysterios appeared on this week’s show. There is no word on who else might be making appearances.
Opinion: The more I think about this idea, the more I like it, as WWE has enough wrestlers with little to do on Monday Night Raw that it makes sense to have them pop up in NXT for a little while. Let them s..

The Wrestling World Pays Tribute To Scott Hall

The kind words. There are certain wrestlers who are going to make a bigger impact than others. This might be due to something that they do in the ring or on the microphone, but there is something about them that makes them stand out. Unfortunately sometimes these things are forgotten about until after they are gone, but now we are seeing someone who was praised in life being praised again after their time has gone.
WWE Hall of Famer Scott Hall passed away at the age of 63 on Monday, following complications related to hip replacement surgery. Since then, WWE and some of its wrestlers paid tribute to him, and now more of the wrestling world has done so as well. Several wrestlers and wrestling personalities have sent out tweets in Hall’s memory, with many offering tributes to Hall. Here are some of the responses:

More Good News On Big E.’s Injury Status

I’d call it an improvement. Every now and then, a major injury takes place on a live wrestling show and it is nothing short of horrifying. There is nothing that can be done and someone is going to be out of action for a very long time. All that leaves you to do is wait and hope to hear good news, which thankfully is the case again with one of the worse injuries you will see in modern wrestling.
Last week on SmackDown, Big E. suffered a broken neck when he landed on his head on the floor. He has since offered an update, saying that he has fractured vertebrae and will not have to undergo surgery. This week, Big E. offered another update via Twitter, announcing that he is already out of the hospital and back at his home. There is no word on when Big E. could return to the ring.
Appreciate you, man. I’m actually home now but Birmingham took good care of me.
— Ettore “Big E” Ewen (@WWEBigE) March 14, 2022
Opinion: The fact that Big E. is both at home and able to tweet is a great sign, a..

Five Monday Night Raw Stars Appear On This Week’s NXT

Enjoy your stay. With WWE having so many talented wrestlers on its roster, it can be difficult to give them all something to do. In some cases it is rather easy as the bigger stars will always be busy, but there are several names who might have issues getting a storyline going. That is where the size of WWE can be helpful, as they have another place to send some of those wrestlers, which was on display this week.
There were five guest stars from Monday Night Raw this week on NXT. The main event of this week’s show saw NXT Champion Dolph Ziggler, with Robert Roode in his corner, successfully defend his title against Robert Roode. This match was set up by the Miz on a special edition of MizTV. Also on the show, the Mysterios ran into Legado del Fantasma in the back, setting up a Dominik Mysterio victory over Joaquin Wilde. There is nothing to suggest that anyone but Roode or Ziggler will be regulars of any kind on NXT going forward.
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that can make NXT ..

Bad Sign For The Future Of This Monday Night Raw Star

It was nice while it lasted. A new star showing up on one of the major WWE television shows is an exciting moment. You might be seeing one of the next big things in the company, though sometimes it can take awhile to click. Other times it can be pretty clear that someone is done from the start, but this time it seems that we have seem someone get their legs cut out from underneath them for good.
This week’s Monday Night Raw features Omos defeating Commander Azeez in a match that did not last three minutes. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, this is a bad sign for Azeez’s future, as he and Omos are both giants. WWE paired them together and had Omos dominate the match, which means that they are only interested in pushing him of the two. Azeez debuted his current character last year on SmackDown as Apollo Crews’ bodyguard.
Opinion: I don’t think it’s any secret that Azeez is not one of the top stars in WWE at the moment, but this was the kind of loss that you see to more or less end..

NXT Star Injured, Out 4-6 Weeks

That doesn’t sound good. Injuries are one of the few universal dangers in wrestling as you never know when someone is going to be taken out of action for any length of time. There are all kinds of possibilities and some of them are going to be more serious than others. Another has taken place to a current star and you might not be seeing her for a little while going forward.
This week on NXT, Cora Jade announced that her tag partner Raquel Gonzalez has suffered an injury at the hands of Toxic Attraction and will be out of action for four to six weeks. Toxic Attraction attacked Gonzalez last week the women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, costing Gonzalez and Jade the match. Jade tried to get revenge on the team this week and will be challenging Mandy Rose for the Women’s Title at NXT Stand & Deliver on April 2 as a result.
Opinion: That is never good to hear and hopefully Gonzalez will be back in the ring sooner rather than later. Aside from that, I wonder if Gonzalez is going to com..
