March 24, 2020 • Admin

If you would like to see this show for free, you can check it out in full right here: Fusion #102 Date: March 21, 2020 Location: 2300 Arena, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Commentators: AJ Kirsch, Rich Bocchini I’m not sure what is left from this show, but there assuming they taped their event in Mexico, they might have another four weeks left after this one. We’ll get to that later though as this one is all about fallout from last week. Therefore, it’s time for an eight man tag with Team Filthy vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr./the Von Erichs/Killer Kross, which could be a big deal. Let’s get to it. The opening recap looks at last week’s brawl which set up the eight man tag. Mance Warner has been attacked by the Dynasty and therefore, Maxwell Jacob Friedman is banned from the building. Warner will be in the corner of Richard Holliday’s mystery opponent though. El Lindaman vs. Zenshi Feeling out process to start with the stronger Lindaman going for a waistlock, only to get rolled up for two. T..

REVIEW: WrestleMania 22: No One Remembers This One

March 24, 2020 • Admin

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net, starting today. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Wrestlemania XXII Date: April 2, 2006 Location: Allstate Arena, Chicago, Illinois Attendance: 17,159 Commentators: Michael Cole, Tazz, Jerry Lawler, Jim Ross Really there isn’t much to talk about here. Other than the two World Title matches, the other major match on the show is Shawn Michaels vs. Vince McMahon in a match over Vince not being willing to grow up and let go of some things in his past. The card just doesn’t feel big this year which was the case with most of the stuff this year. Let’s get ..

AEW May Lose Dynamite Venue Due To Jacksonville Government

March 24, 2020 • Admin

That could stop them. The Coronavirus has changed the way the wrestling world works for the time being and that might be the case for a good while to come. There have still been some promotions that have managed to stay out there, including WWE and AEW, mainly because they have exclusive access to buildings that no one else can run. However, that might not be the case in the future. As strange as it has been, AEW and WWE have been running their shows in front of empty arenas for the last few weeks. This has created some of the most unique atmospheres that you will ever see in wrestling and somehow, it has worked rather well for the most part. The absence of fans has helped comply with CDC recommendations, but something may be happening that takes the rules a step further. According to Wrestling Observer Live, there is a chance that the Mayor of Jacksonville, Florida could prevent AEW from running in Daily’s Place in the city by strengthening rules about public distancing. A potential..

VIDEO: Hulk Hogan And Sgt. Slaughter Watch Their WrestleMania Match

March 24, 2020 • Admin

A take you don’t often hear. I know some people might not be all that fond of him, but there are few stars in the history of wrestling on the same level as Hulk Hogan. He revolutionized wrestling back in the 1980s and his impact is still being felt today. Hogan will still popup in WWE every now and then and that is what he has done again, albeit in a very different way. One of the things that you don’t often get in wrestling is the perspective from the wrestlers themselves. As strange as it may seem, they have the most unique perspective of anyone watching their matches because they are the only ones who know what it is like to actually get in the ring. That isn’t something everyone else can say and it is interesting to hear what they thought about any given match. That is the case again now. The latest edition of WWE Playback features Hogan and Sgt. Slaughter watching their match from WrestleMania 7. The two of them met in the main event of the show with Hogan defeating Slaughter to..

WWE Allowing Free WWE Network Access (Mostly)

March 24, 2020 • Admin

Well the price is right. There are very few things in wrestling that have changed the game like the WWE Network. Wrestling has never been so accessible and that is one of the best things that wrestling fans can hear. In addition to having the modern WWE events included, fans can also see the old school library at the same time. All this comes for $9.99 a month, or at least it did. WWE has built the entire Network around the idea of $9.99 a month. That’s a great price and the kind of thing that makes a great talking point for the service. It’s rather cheap and something that makes it sound like a bargain. While there have been discussions of changing the price to a tiered system, nothing has come of it yet. However, we might be seeing a bit of a shift. WWE has announced that they are offering fans free access to the WWE Network for a limited time. The offer includes access to all editions of the Big Four pay per views, Takeovers, several documentaries, Broken Skull Sessions, recent Mo..

Two New Grudge Matches Added To Strive againstMania

March 24, 2020 • Admin

Keep em coming. WrestleMania 36 is looking like perhaps the most unique wrestling show in a very long time as not only will it take place over two nights, but there may be several matches that do not take place in the arena. That is enough to spark some interest, though there is one more thing that might make it unique: a really, really long list of matches on the show. The WrestleMania card is growing at a rather crazy pace, partially because the show has two nights instead of the usual one. That can be both a good and bad thing, as it means little will be left out, but at the same time, the show can become overcrowded. That was on display this Monday, as several more matches were officially announced or confirmed for the show. This week on Monday Night Raw, a pair of matches were confirmed for WrestleMania 36. First up, Elias will face King Corbin. The match has been teased for several weeks now, with Elias singing a song about Corbin, who was not pleased. WrestleMania host Rob Gro..

WrestleMania Match Gets New Stipulation

March 24, 2020 • Admin

Sometimes you need a twist. For the first time ever, a large part of WrestleMania might not take place live. With so many changes going on in the world at any given time, WWE has decided to tape a lot of things in advance of WrestleMania weekend. As a result, there are going to be matches that take place in different locations, which could make for some unique situations. We now might know what one of them will be. A lot of this year’s WrestleMania card has already been set but, just like everything else with the show, it is still subject to change. That could mean a variety of things, including adding a gimmick to an already announced match. One of the biggest matches on the show has received just that treatment, though the gimmick itself is going to need a bit more of an explanation. This week on Monday Night Raw, AJ Styles announced that his WrestleMania match with Undertaker will now be a Bone Yard match. At the moment it is not clear what that means, though Styles suggested that..

WrestleMania Title Match Already Changed

March 24, 2020 • Admin

That’s a fast turnaround. You might have noticed that this year’s WrestleMania is not like the usual versions. The show has been changed time after time and with just under two weeks to go, there is still time for a few more adjustments. Even though some of the matches are already set, that doesn’t mean more changes aren’t going to be made, which seems to be the case with one of the announced matches. Last week on SmackDown, Paige appeared via the Titantron and announced that Bayley would be defending the SmackDown Women’s Title in a six way match at WrestleMania. This meant that Bayley would have five challengers for the match, with Paige announcing the names at the same time. However, it seems that the match has already been changed to a smaller field. WWE.com’s preview for the match now features a photo only including Bayley, Sasha Banks, Tamina, Naomi and Lacey Evans, with Dana Brooke nowhere in sight. Also, the link for the match now says “Fatal Five Way Elimination Match”. Whil..

Backstage News: WWE Extremely Bitter Regarding Potential CM Punk Return

March 24, 2020 • Admin

The WWE Universe continues to wonder if another run with the company is possible for CM Punk. There has been a lot of bad blood, lawsuits and harsh words on both sides. Regardless, there’s still constant speculation and new rumors about the possibility of the two sides putting their differences aside to make some money. Punk said a lot of things about WWE and him doing the analyst gig with FOX is a huge indicator that he’s at least reading the terrain. We’ve heard Punk talk about WWE over the last six years. The former WWE Champ has no problem speaking for himself, but wrestling fans are always wondering if Punk is interested in a return to WWE. It seems that Vince McMahon would have to make the first move, but that’s not likely to happen soon. Related: Update On Potential CM Punk WrestleMania Match According to a report from WrestlingINC, WWE officials are said to be “pretty negative” about the idea of Punk returning for an in-ring return. Wrestling Observer Radio claims that there ..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – March 23, 2020

March 24, 2020 • Admin

Monday Night Raw Date: March 23, 2020 Location: WWE Performance Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Byron Saxton, Tom Phillips We’re almost to Wrestlemania, assuming the whole city of Orlando isn’t shut down in the first place. We have a lot of the Wrestlemania card already set, including two bonus matches with the Street Profits defending against Andrade and Angel Garza, plus Aleister Black vs. Bobby Lashley. Yeah I don’t get it either. Let’s get to it. Paul Heyman joins us to start, talking about how Brock Lesnar has run through everyone he has fought over the years. We see clips of Drew McIntyre’s rise since winning the Royal Rumble, with promises to become the reigning, defending, undisputed WWE Champion. Heyman and Lesnar are in the ring, with Heyman talking about how McIntyre can train all he wants. He can get in great shape and spar with mixed martial artists, but he can’t beat Lesnar at Wrestlemania. McIntyre can pray all he wants but God is going to give him a busy signa..

Two New Surprise WrestleMania Matches Confirmed

March 23, 2020 • Admin

The card keeps growing. We are less than two weeks away from WrestleMania 36 and that means there is still time to build up the card. With this year’s show featuring two nights instead of the usual one, WWE may be interested in adding in some extra matches to the card than they normally would. That seems to be the case, as the card has gotten a little bit bigger. Monday Night Raw has a lot of talented wrestlers on its roster, meaning that they can put together quite a strong set of matches for WrestleMania. Some of these matches will involve titles, but others will include matches focused on personal rivalries with a grudge to settle. However, some of them will have neither of those things, which makes this year’s show somewhat different. WWE.com has announced a pair of matches for this year’s WrestleMania. First up, Aleister Black will face Bobby Lashley. The two have never fought before and have had no major interaction on the main roster. Second, the Street Profits will defend the..

205 Live Results – March 20, 2020

March 22, 2020 • Admin

205 Live Date: March 20, 2020 Location: WWE Performance Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Jon Quasto, Aiden English We’re back here and thankfully this show has gotten into the formula that it should have had years ago: a short form show which gets in and out without wasting a bunch of time. Last week saw Kushida and Isaiah Scott surviving the elimination tag and that could set up some stuff for the future. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Joaquin Wilde vs. Danny Burch Burch cranks on the arm to start and takes him down with a wristlock. That’s switched into a Fujiwara armbar to work on a different part of the arm because Burch is that thorough. Wilde reverses into an armbar of his own but they wind up heading outside instead. Burch knocks him into the barricade, only to have Wilde dive off of said barricade to drop Burch again. Back in and Wilde goes back to the arm for a good bit until Burch jawbreaks his way to freedom. Some shots in the corner set up a middle rope missil..

Main Event Results – March 19, 2020

March 22, 2020 • Admin

Main Event Date: March 19, 2020 Location: WWE Performance Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Byron Saxton, Mickie James As strange as this is going to be, it might be an improvement for what we usually get on this show. Given the amount of people they are allowed to have in the building, it would surprise me if they brought some of the normal low level wrestlers that frequent this show. Then again Ricochet was on here last week so it could go in a bunch of ways. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Aleister Black vs. Leon Ruff Ruff is from Evolve and looks a bit terrified. Black sits down in the middle of the ring to start, with Mickie telling Ruff to kick him in the face. That doesn’t happen though as Black Mass finishes Ruff at 1:13. Result: Aleister Black b. Leon Ruff – Black Mass (1:13) From Smackdown. Here’s John Cena for the big interview with Cole. Cena says he can’t wait to get back to the fans before moving on to Bray Wyatt. Cole brings up the Wrestlemania XXX match an..

Update: How WWE Will Tape Several Shows Early, Including WrestleMania

March 22, 2020 • Admin

It’s about all they can do. There isn’t exactly a precedent for the things going on in the wrestling world today and it makes sense to try things from a very different way. That is going to be the case with WrestleMania 36 as it is to be held in front of an empty WWE Performance Center, but at the same time, there might be something else even more unique going on. The big problem with this year’s WrestleMania stems from the Coronavirus, as various governments have followed the Center For Disease Controls’ recommendations of banning large gatherings. This has kept WrestleMania out of both arenas and stadiums, but the bigger problem at the moment is how fast the rules can change. Therefore, WWE may need to get the show ready when they can, and that is what they will be doing. According to PWInsider.com, WWE will be taping several shows this week, including at least part of WrestleMania 36. This will include multiple episodes of SmackDown, 205 Live, Monday Night Raw, NXT and some of Wre..

Adam Cole Reaches Impressive Milestone

March 22, 2020 • Admin

That’s a milestone. NXT has gone from the WWE minor league to one of the biggest and more important promotions in the world. They have produced some of the most important stars around today with their Takeover series being nothing short of revered. As usual, NXT is built around titles, with the NXT Title being at the top of the chart. Now, that title has a new milestone. There has never been a group as dominant in NXT as the Undisputed Era. The team pulled off a very rare feat in wrestling as they held all four major men’s titles in the promotion at the same time. Adam Cole is the group’s leader and currently the only one with a title. As the reigning NXT Champion, Cole is at the top of the company and it turns out that he has reached a point no one ever has before. As on Friday, Cole has become the longest reigning NXT Champion, reaching a reign of 293 days and surpassing Finn Balor’s record of 292 days. Cole has held the title since Takeover: XXV on June 1, 2019 when he defeated Jo..

WWE Trolls Fans Who Cannot Attend WrestleMania

March 22, 2020 • Admin

That might be taking it a bit too far. This year’s WrestleMania has been turned into one of the most unique shows that any wrestling promotion has ever presented. Not only will the show be presented over two nights instead of the traditional one, but also, the show will be be held at the WWE Performance Center in front of no fans. That’s a first, and WWE is capitalizing on it in a tongue in cheek way. One of the things that WWE does better than almost anyone else is merchandising. There may be companies with cleverer shirts, but no one can match WWE’s sheer volume of products available. It doesn’t matter who it is or what kind of item you want, WWE has something for everyone on their roster. They have some specialized stuff as well, and that’s what they’ve done again. WWE has released a new “I Wasn’t There” t-shirt in honor of WrestleMania 36. The shirt is a parody of the “I Was There” shirts, which are released annually for WrestleMania. It is also available in another design, featu..

Update On Potential CM Punk WrestleMania Match

March 21, 2020 • Admin

Can you blame people for thinking? WrestleMania, at least in the modern sense, is built around the concept of dream matches. There are all kinds of matches that can be put together, given the deep roster that WWE has. When you add in legends, things can get even easier as they can work with just about anyone. One such match may have been teased, but how possible was it? Back in November, CM Punk made a surprise return to WWE programming after a five and a half year absence. The return took a lot of people by surprise but also made people wonder if he would ever return to the ring. With WrestleMania not too far away, those thoughts cranked up even more. However, there comes a point where the two sides have to come to an agreement and that wasn’t so simple. According to PWInsider.com, there were never any official discussions between Punk and WWE about a match or even an appearance at WrestleMania. Rollins had even hinted at the match online but there was never any movement towards the..

Update On WWE’s Performance Center Status

March 21, 2020 • Admin

I would hope this goes without saying. Over the last few weeks, the world has completely changed due to the spread of the Coronavirus. The disease has caused everything to be turned on its head, including professional wrestling. WWE has managed to keep going thanks to their wide range of resources, but one of them has not been used as it was originally intended. The last few WWE television shows have been as unique as they can get, with several of them taking place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. These shows have taken place without audiences due to the potential spread of the Coronavirus, making them some of the most different looking shows WWE has ever put together. The Performance Center makes for a special setting, and right now, that’s about all. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, all training at the Performance Center has been halted, with the only work being done at the facility involving the taping of television shows. When television shows are..

WATCH: Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair From WrestleMania XXIV (24)

March 21, 2020 • Admin

It was the end of one of the greatest careers of all time. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel, in which they show the full match between Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair from WrestleMania XXIV (24). It was here that The Heartbreak Kid defeated The Nature Boy and ended his legendary career. You can see the video in its entirety below: After a grueling match between two of the greatest of all time, Michaels was ready to hit Flair with his patented Sweet Chin Music. However, there was a hesitation from HBK as he knew that if he were to connect, it would be the end of arguably the greatest career of all time. However, Michaels knew that it would be what Flair wanted, and after one of the most iconic moments in the history of WrestleMania (I’m sorry. I love you.), HBK connected with his finisher, and the rest is history. Editor’s Opinion: I still get the feels when I see HBK deliver that iconic line and end Flair’s career. The aftermath of The Nature Boy crying in the ring a..

WATCH: Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar From Survivor Series 2016

March 21, 2020 • Admin

I guarantee you’ll have time to do this. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube page, in which they show the full match between Brock Lesnar and Goldberg from “Survivor Series” 2016. In his first match in a wrestling ring in 12 years, “The Man” defeated “The Beast” in record time. You can watch the match in its entirety below: From WWE.com: In took only 1-minute, 24-seconds for Goldberg to dominate his match against Brock Lesnar, defeating The Beast Incarnate with two Spears and a Jackhammer and positively stunning the WWE Universe. After a 12-year hiatus from competition, Goldberg proved that he hasn’t lost a single step. With his wife and young son watching him compete live for the first time ever, the proud husband and father avenged his family after weeks of insults from Lesnar and his advocate, Paul Heyman. The quick carnage began shortly after the opening bell rang when Lesnar backed Goldberg into the corner, only to be forcefully shoved back and then leveled with a Spea..
