It’s time to get serious around here so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. X-Division Title Tournament First Round: Laredo Kid vs. Alex Zayne vs. Trey Miguel The winner goes on to the title match at Bound For Glory. Big Update On Braun Strowman’s Future In Wrestling

October 4, 2021 • Admin

That’s one way to go. Over the last few years, the wrestling industry has been dominated by WWE and AEW, both of which have been going after all kinds of talented wrestlers. It has made for some interesting decisions when a wrestler goes to one place or another, but not we are seeing another player come into the picture, at least for one specific former WWE star. According to Fightful Select, AEW and Adam Scherr, formerly known as Braun Strowman in WWE, have had conversations about Scherr coming in, but it does not seem that they will be working together. Instead, Scherr is expected to wind up in Impact Wrestling, which has reportedly been making a play for him in recent months. There is no word on when Scherr will make his debut with Impact Wrestling, assuming he signs there. Scherr made his return to the ring this weekend, defeating EC3 at Free The Narrative II. Scherr would be a huge pickup. Check out who might be coming to Impact Wrestling: [This post contains video, click to pl..

Former WWE Star Drops Hint About Coming To AEW Soon

October 4, 2021 • Admin

He would work. There have been a lot of wrestlers leaving WWE over the last few months, some of whom have left the company against their will. That can make for some major shifts in the wrestling world, but it can also be rather interesting as you wait to see where these wrestlers wind up. Another former WWE star has dropped a major hint about where he might be going. This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite will feature the return of the Casino Ladder Match, which will see several wrestlers split into groups, who will enter the match at set times. There will also be a surprise entrant designated as the Joker, who will enter last. According to 411mania.com, former WWE star Buddy Matthews, better known as Buddy Murphy, tweeted out an image of joker. However, the tweet has since been deleted. Since his release from WWE, Matthews has wrestled a pair of independent matches but has not announced a signing with any promotion. AEW could be getting a heck of a star. Check out Matthews’ time in WW..

WWE Making Plans For Two New Regular Series

October 4, 2021 • Admin

Even more? If there is one thing that WWE is good at, it is producing content. The company has all kinds of shows throughout the week, some of which are institutions of professional wrestling. At the same time though, WWE also has several shows which might not get the same amount of attention. Now they are going to have the chance to showcase even more of their content. According to Fightful.com, WWE has filed trademarks for “Raw Rebound” and “SmackDown Breakdown”, both of which would be shows about wrestling. There is no word on when or where these would air, or if they would be replacing Raw Talk and Talking Smack. WWE has run Raw Rebound segments before, often during episodes of SmackDown to offer recaps of the week’s Monday Night Raw. Both shows could use another look. Check out some of the better parts of the two: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click t..

AEW Stars Have Their Eye On Another WWE Wrestler

October 4, 2021 • Admin

He’s on the radar. The rise of AEW has changed the way wrestling works as we now have another high level promotion which has wrestlers jumping from one show to another. That is something that has not been taking place for several years and it makes things that much more exciting. Now it seems that AEW has their eyes on another talented WWE star and might want to bring him in. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Chad Gable’s friends in AEW are hoping that he would jump over to the company because he would fit in well there. There is no word on when Gable’s WWE contract is up or if AEW has made any attempt to bring Gable in. Gable has been teaming with Otis as part of the Alpha Academy in recent weeks, with his most recent match taking place last week on SmackDown. I can see why Gable has their attention. Check out what he can do when he is given the chance: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to p..

Possible Reason Why WWE Split Up The New Day Again

October 4, 2021 • Admin

Go over there? The WWE Draft is taking place this week and that means everyone is potentially going to be heading somewhere else. That has some positive and negative consequences, some of which are going to be rather noticeable. There have been wrestlers moved from one show to another and some teams have been split up. Now we may know why that was the case. Two of the picks in this year’s WWE Draft saw WWE Champion Big E. staying on Monday Night Raw while Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods would be moved over to SmackDown. This would be the second year in a row that New Day has been split up in the Draft and comes only a few weeks after their reunion. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE’s theory is that Woods and Kingston bring Big E. down while WWE wants to push him. The moves will not go into effect until October 22. The team has had its moments together and apart. Check out a bit of both: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, cli..

VIDEO: Special AEW Cameo Takes Place During Indy Event

October 3, 2021 • Admin

That’s a special cameo. AEW has one of the most interesting and unique rosters in all of wrestling. That has been the case since the promotion debuted and it has been one of their strengths ever since. They have people wrestlers from various generations, all of whom have talents all their own. At some point you have to start building up the future though and that might be the case again. Evil Uno and Stu Grayson of the Dark Order were facing the team of High Seas at Squared Circle Wrestling’s Older, Fatter, Balder event over the weekend. Late in the match, Negative One, the son of Brodie Lee, appeared and interfered in the match, including superkicking a chair into the faces of one of the Dark Order’s opponents. Negative One celebrated with the team after the match to end the show. This was pretty cool. VIDEO: How The Ring Broke At WWE Extreme Rules

October 3, 2021 • Admin

So that’s how they did it. Sometimes wrestling needs to do something special to wrap up a match. Just having someone get a regular pin or a submission might not work well enough, so maybe the best choice is to come up with something new. It can be interesting to see what happens, but it might be even better know how how the trick worked. Now we have a better idea about what WWE did recently. The main event of last week’s WWE Extreme Rules pay per view saw Universal Champion Roman Reigns defending the title against the Fiend Finn Balor in the show’s namesake match. Balor made a comeback near the end, but the top rope broke as Balor was attempting to hit the Coup de Grace. A video has surfaced online, showing a cameraman cutting the rope, causing Balor to fall down. Reigns hit a spear to retain the title immediately thereafter. It was a heck of a fight. Check out the clip, the match, and some other ring breaking moments: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains v..

Two Wrestlers Injured On The Same Show, One Sent To Hospital

October 3, 2021 • Admin

They just keep coming. Injuries can take place at any given time to any wrestler and it is never a good thing. Any wrestler being forced to miss time from the ring is a negative and unfortunately no one is immune to the possibility. What matters after an injury is finding out how long someone is going to be missing in action, and that is the question for two wrestlers over the weekend. According to Fightful.com, two wrestlers were injured during Saturday’s Major League Wrestling Fightland taping. First, Nicole Savoy suffered a broken rib during her match and was stretchered out, ultimately being taken to the hospital. Later in the show, TJP suffered an undisclosed injury but was not taken to the hospital as a result. There is no word on how much time either of them will be missing. Savoy has been wrestling in Ring of Honor while TJP has been working for Impact Wrestling. You might remember both of them. Check out the two of them in action: [This post contains video, click to play] ..

RUMOR: Possible Sign That AEW Has Signed A New Star

October 3, 2021 • Admin

Call it a clue? AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works, as there is now another mainstream wrestling promotion offering wrestlers a place to go. It has been a long time since wrestlers have been able to go anywhere but WWE and several have been taking the opportunity. That might be the case again, and there could be a rather interesting hint included. This week’s edition of AEW Rampage included a graphic advertising the Bobby Fish vs. Sammy Guevara match for Guevara’s TNT Title on next week’s Dynamite. The graphic included Fish wearing an official AEW shirt, suggesting that Fish may have signed with the company. This has not been confirmed, though Fish was reportedly going to be brought in for more than one appearance. Fish will be making his debut with the company during next week’s show following a release from WWE over the summer. IMG Credit: All Elite Wrestling Fish could be a nice addition to the roster. Check out how good he would be in AEW: [This post contains vide..

WWE Legend Currently Out Of Action With Medical Issue

October 3, 2021 • Admin

That’s never good. Injuries can take any wrestler out of the ring at any given time. Some of them are much worse than others but what matters the most is that someone is not going to be able to get into the ring for a while. No one is immune to this and unfortunately it seems that another current WWE star is missing in action at the moment due to some kind of issue. According to Fightful Select, SmackDown’s Rey Mysterio is currently sidelined with some sort of medical issue. As a result, Mysterio was unable to wrestle at this weekend’s WWE live event, where he was scheduled to face Roman Reigns. There is no word on when Mysterio will be cleared to return to the ring. Mysterio’s most recent match took place at a live event on September 25. Mysterio is rather good when he’s healthy. Check out what he can do in the ring: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: That doesn’t sound good an..

Monday Night Raw Star To Miss “Extended” Time Due To Injury

October 3, 2021 • Admin

That doesn’t sound good. Wrestlers are rather unique people, but at the same time they do have some things that are always going to be the same. That includes the potential for getting injured, which can put someone on the shelf for any amount of time. Some injures are much worse than others, and now we have seen one wrestler put away for what seems to be a good while. According to PWInsider.com, Nia Jax was not backstage during this week’s WWE Draft and is expected to miss a significant amount of time. There is no word on what is wrong with Jax, but she was attacked by Shayna Baszler after a match on Monday Night Raw in September. Baszler crushed Jax’s arm to write her off of television, though Jax was still drafted to Monday Night Raw this weekend. Jax is a force when she is healthy. Check out what she can do in the ring: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I’m not sure what is..

Huge Report On WWE’s Relationship With The USA Network

October 2, 2021 • Admin

They’re the ones that matter. WWE is a huge wrestling company but it doesn’t mean as much if the fans can’t see the product. That is where television is such an important asset to the company, as it makes WWE available to the masses. WWE has two major television deals with NBC Universal and FOX and we have already heard a bit more about their relationship with FOX. Now it is time for USA. Fightful Select has released a new report that looks at WWE’s current relationship with NBC Universal and the USA Network, which has both positive and negative aspects. USA is happy with having a unique roster from FOX, as they see the Brand Split similar to how the NFL airs on different television networks. They are also happy with the way NXT 2.0 has started off, including the viewership for the first episode and Tommaso Ciampa as a familiar NXT Champion. The network is also fine with edgier content on NXT, as its other shows present similar content as well. On the negative side, USA would like to..

REVIEW: Monday Night Raw – June 6, 2005: The Next Big Thing

October 2, 2021 • Admin

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Monday Night Raw Date: June 6, 2005 Location: Savvis Center, St. Louis, Missouri Attendance: 10,000 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler It’s time for the start of the Draft and that is the kind of thing that can change a lot about the company in a hurry. The first Draft pick is going to be revealed on the Highlight Reel and that could make for some interesting interactions. Other than that we have the build towards HHH vs. Batista in the Cell and it’s also the go home show for One Night Stand. Let’s get to it. E..

Backstage Details On First Half Of WWE Draft

October 2, 2021 • Admin

There’s more to it than that. The WWE Draft is ongoing and that means things are getting a little more interesting throughout the company. SmackDown has already featured several moves and there will be even more next week on Monday Night Raw. There is a good chance that the latter show’s picks will get more attention, but now we know a little more about the first batch. There are some new details about the first half of the WWE Draft. According to PWInsider.com, the wrestlers who were moved to a new show were told in advance in an effort to prevent them from being taken by surprise. While some wrestlers are changing rosters, the changes do not go into effect until October 22. In addition, according to Wrestlinginc.com, Charlotte was moved to SmackDown because FOX requested that she be put on the show. There is no word on who else might have been or will be moved due to network requests. It was a busy night. Check out how some of the Draft went: [This post contains video, click to pl..

You’ll Be Seeing Some New Stars On Monday Night Raw And SmackDown

October 2, 2021 • Admin

They’re the new stars. We are halfway through the 2021 WWE Draft and now we can see where a lot of things are going. That makes for some interesting moments, as the WWE roster needed to be shaken up. The problem with that is there are a lot of rosters to be shaken up, and some of the changes are not as great. One of the roster took a hit during the first night as the other two got a boost. Both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown selected NXT talent with picks during the first night of the Draft. First, SmackDown drafted the entire Hit Row stable, including B Fab, Isaiah Swerve Scott, Top Dolla and Ashante Thee Adonis. The team debuted in NXT on May 4 of this year. With the last pick of the night, Monday Night Raw selected Austin Theory. This is Theory’s second trip to the main roster, as he wrestled there during the spring and summer of 2020 before returning to NXT as part of the Way. There is potential here. Check out the main roster stars still in NXT: [This post contains video, click..

These Three Former WWE Stars Have Landed New Gigs

October 2, 2021 • Admin

You have to do something else. Wrestlers are like normal people in that at some point, their careers are going to end. What makes things a little bit different though is the fact that wrestlers are often going to be retiring from the ring far before they are moving into traditional retirement years. They need something else to do and now several former WWE stars seem to have found at least a temporary something. Three former WWE stars have landed a new position outside of wrestling. First up, Adam Scherr, formerly known as Braun Strowman, will be serving as an analyst at the Mr. Olympia Power Arm Wrestling Championships on October 8 and 9. Next, Dean Muhtadi, formerly known as Mojo Rawley, has announced he will be the new co-host for TMZ Sports Monday thru Friday on Fox Sports 1. Finally, NBC has announced, by way of 411mania.com, that Nikki Bella will be serving as one of the judges on America’s Got Talent: Extreme, which will be debuting later this month. Honored to announce I will..

AEW Rampage Results – October 1, 2021

October 2, 2021 • Admin

Rampage Date: October 1, 2021 Location: Blue Cross Arena, Rochester, New York Commentators: Taz, Ricky Starks, Excalibur It’s time for a special night as we have two big matches on the same show. First of all, we’ll be seeing Bryan Danielson facing Nick Jackson in a match that could be rather interesting. Other than that, Jack Evans is putting his hair on the line against Orange Cassidy, as per Matt Hardy’s orders. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Bryan Danielson vs. Nick Jackson They start slowly until the threat of some strikes send Danielson outside. Nick spends too much time getting some cold spray that Danielson is right there with the suicide dive. Back in and Danielson takes him down into the surfboard/Dragon Sleeper. Not that it matters as Danielson is right back up with a flip into a rebound clothesline to take over. A cross armbreaker sends Nick over to the ropes but Danielson is right back on the arm. Danielson suplexes him down to set up a hammerlock, complete with kn..

Full WWE Draft Picks From SmackDown, Several Names Changing Brands

October 2, 2021 • Admin

It’s halftime. The WWE Draft is one of the biggest events that WWE presents every single year. The WWE rosters are changed over the course of two nights and some of the moves made are going to change things for a long time to come. This has been the case before, and it seems like it is going to be what happens this year as well, and now we are halfway done. The first half of the WWE Draft took place during this week’s edition of SmackDown, with four rounds of two picks each to both SmackDown and Monday Night Raw. There were picks from both the other rosters as well as NXT, with several picks being used on wrestlers who stayed on their previous brands.
