VIDEO: Title Change Takes Place On AEW Dynamite

September 30, 2021 • Admin

History has been made! AEW has not been around very long, as next week’s edition of AEW Dynamite will mark the show’s second anniversary special. That is not a long time to establish a history but AEW has done a good job with it so far. A lot of that is due to the way they have treated their championships, as title changes have been treated as something special. That was the case again this week. The main event of this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite saw Sammy Guevara defeat Miro to become the new TNT Champion. The win makes Guevara fifth man to hold the title and ended Miro’s reign at 140 days. Guevara was challenging Miro for the title after Miro attacked Guevara’s friend Fuevo del Sol, and also took del Sol’s car in a wager. This is Guevara’s first title in AEW. It was a big moment. Check out the title change, plus some of both of them in the ring in AEW: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to pla..

AEW Dynamite Results – September 29, 2021

September 30, 2021 • Admin

Dynamite Date: September 29, 2021 Location: Blue Cross Arena, Rochester, New York Commentators: Jim Ross, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, CM Punk AEW has been on a roll as of late and that means we could be in for something special tonight. I’m not sure what we are going to be seeing here, but it certainly could be a fun night. If nothing else, we’re in Brodie Lee’s hometown and that means we are probably going to be in for some tributes. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. We open with some BRODIE chants. Here’s CM Punk, who will be on commentary tonight but can’t dive into the crowd because of the athletic commission. Adam Cole vs. Jungle Boy Feeling out process to start until Boy hits a heck of a chop into a springboard armdrag. A dropkick puts Cole on the floor and let’s take a breather for a bit. Jungle follows him out and Cole kicks him down, setting up a neckbreaker back inside. The chinlock holds Boy in place for a bit but he is right back up with a shot to the face. Jungle hits..

Backstage News On Why Alexa Bliss Is Off WWE TV

September 29, 2021 • Admin

That would be an explanation. With so many wrestlers on the WWE roster, it can be notable when one of them goes away for a bit. It can be an even bigger deal when one of them goes away while they are in the middle of a big story. You can often tell when someone is moving away for a bit, and that seems to be the case with a current big Monday Night Raw star. Earlier this week, news emerged that Monday Night Raw’s Alexa Bliss would be taken off of television for a few months, though it was not clear why she would be going away. According to PWInsider.com, Bliss has been taken off of television as she will be undergoing sinus surgery. There is no word on how long she will be out of action. Bliss lost to Charlotte at Extreme Rules, after which Charlotte destroyed Bliss’ doll Lillie, sending Bliss into an emotional breakdown. Bliss has been busy as of late. Monday Night Raw Star Undergoes Surgery

September 29, 2021 • Admin

Get well soon. Wrestling is ultimately a physical sport that can include all kinds of injuries. Some of these are more serious than others, but there are some which can come back after being fixed up in the first place. Sometimes an injury might be fixed up but then something happens to start the problem all over again. That seems to be the case at the moment with a Monday Night Raw star. Monday Night Raw’s Sheamus has announced that he is undergoing another surgery to repair his broken nose. Sheamus previously underwent surgery to fix the problem but then had his nose broken again during a match with Jeff Hardy last week on Monday Night Raw. He then found Hardy and Damian Priest at Extreme Rules, plus Priest alone this week on Monday Night Raw. It is not clear if Sheamus will miss any ring time. ..the mask came off.. jeff rebroke my nose.. then priest attacked me.. retribution is coming lads #WWERaw pic.twitter.com/uFwVjEHDbV — Sheamus (@WWESheamus) September 21, 2021 ..once more ..

RUMOR: Several NXT Names Who Make Be Drafted To WWE Main Roster

September 29, 2021 • Admin

Change of address? The WWE Draft is coming up later this week and that is the kind of thing that could change the way WWE works for the next several months to come. You see new wrestlers showing up in different place and in some cases, it is their first time ever in those places. We might be seeing that again with a group of wrestlers making their main roster debuts. According to Jon Alba of the Living The Gimmick podcast, Hit Row is being discussed for a main roster call up during next month’s WWE Draft. The team has been together in NXT for the last several months, with Isaiah Swerve Scott being the current North American Champion. There is no word on what would happen to the title should the team be called up. The rest of the team includes B Fab, Top Dolla and Ashante Thee Adonis. Hit Row is one of the names being discussed for a main roster call-up from #WWENXT for the #WWE Draft, I'm told. Whether it ultimately gets the call will remain to be seen, obviously, but @AndrewZar..

RUMOR: WWE Taking Summerslam International

September 29, 2021 • Admin

Air trip? WWE is the world’s biggest wrestling company and that is a spot they have had for a very long time now. They go around the world on a regular basis and have shows in various countries. Some of these are bigger than others, but you do not see the most important shows of the year take place overseas. That might no longer be the case next year. According to Whatculture.com, WWE is looking to run a major event in the United Kingdom in September 2022, with hopes of a stadium that holds over 90,000 people. There is a chance that this could be Summerslam, which would be celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of Summerslam 1992, which was held in Wembley Stadium in London, England. According to talkSport, WWE is in discussions to hold Summerslam in the United Kingdom, with Wales’ Principality Stadium being WWE’s preferred destination. WWE has yet to announce any plans for the show. WWE has gone international before. Check out some of their bigger shows outside of the United States: ..

VIDEO: Controversial NXT Character Is Back After All

September 29, 2021 • Admin

Not so fast? Wrestlers and characters come and go in wrestling almost every week. You never know when you are going to see someone go away for the last time and not see them again, which can make for some interesting final moments. That seemed to be the case last week but things have changed in the last week, as the character not only returned, but made another step forward. Last week on NXT, Joe Gacy debuted a new character based on “woke” culture. Following the appearance, Gacy erased all mention of the character from his social media, with WWE doing exactly the same. However, Gacy was back during this week’s edition of NXT, saying that he has not been canceled and that he was trying to make NXT a better place. Gacy did not wrestle on the show. Gacy is an interesting character. Check out what he has done in WWE and NXT: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is one of those t..

More Former WWE Stars Make AEW Debuts

September 29, 2021 • Admin

Welcome! There have been all kinds of names let go from WWE over the last year and a half and that has changed all kinds of things about the wrestling landscape. Suddenly there are all kinds of new wrestlers out there on the market and some of them are going to get signed to major promotions. That might be the case in the future for two people, as they at least made an appearance this week. This week’s AEW Dark saw the debut of two former WWE stars, as both Santana Garrett and Adrian Jaoude made appearances. Jaoude is better known as Arturo Ruas in NXT while Garrett wrestled under the same name. Both were released from WWE earlier this year, though there is no word on either of them being signed to contracts with AEW. Garrett appeared in a backstage segment while Jaoude teamed with Cezar Bononi to win a tag match. They could be worth a look. Welcome To The Family AEW Announces New Signing

September 29, 2021 • Admin

Welcome to the family. AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works and that is a great thing to see. Above all else, you can see how many new wrestlers have been given a chance to wrestle on a national platform. We have been seeing various other stars showing up in AEW and now they might have signed another former champion to a contract with the company. During this week’s edition of AEW Dark, an announcement was made that Kiera Hogan has been signed to a contract. This comes after Hogan has appeared on a few recent editions of AEW Dark and Dark Elevation. Hogan is a former two time Impact Wrestling Knockouts Tag Team Champion and left the company earlier this year. She has also been working for the NWA and various independent promotions in recent months. Hogan is quite the talent. Ring Of Honor TV Results – September 22, 2021

September 29, 2021 • Admin

Ring of Honor Date: September 22, 2021 Location: UMBC Event Center, Baltimore, Maryland Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman We are firmly away from Death Before Dishonor and in theory this should be the tapings where we see some fallout. That being said, last week we got some pre-fallout (Fall-in?) with the Tag Team Titles changing hands. Not that it makes much of a difference given how often they have been swapped as of late, but it’s certainly an event. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Quinn McKay welcomes us to the show and runs down the card, with a focus on the Pure Rules division. Pure Rules Gauntlet Match No word on how many entrants and lost rope breaks carry over from one fall to another. Eric Martin is in at #1 and World Famous CB is in at #2 with Brian Milonas on commentary. They trade the grappling to start with Martin going to the ropes to avoid a drop toehold. Then he uses the next two in rapid fashion and is out of breaks after less than a minute and a hal..

NXT Live Coverage And Results – September 28, 2021

September 29, 2021 • Admin

NXT Date: September 28, 2021 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Vic Joseph, Beth Phoenix, Wade Barrett It’s time to focus on the women’s division as we have several women’s matches taking place this week. This includes a pair of title matches, plus a grudge match. That’s the easy part though. The fun part is finding out how many new people can be brought in with little to no explanation. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Here is Hit Row to get things going. They run down tonight’s focus on the women’s matches and wonder why no one is coming after Isaiah Scott’s North American Title? B Fab is ready to take out Elektra Lopez, so here is Legado del Fantasma to make things serious. B Fab vs. Elektra Lopez No DQ and the brawl starts on the floor before the bell. B Fab kicks Lopez in the head and they’re outside in a hurry, with the guys getting in a big brawl of their own as we take a break. Back with a fight over a table, with Lopez driving it into B Fa..

Former World Champion To Be Free Agent, Open To Offers

September 28, 2021 • Admin

The field grows. We are in a different wrestling world than ever before and that means we are in for a lot of changes. For the first time in decades, there is a viable second national promotion out there to rival WWE and that means wrestlers have a new place to go. That is going to make things all the more interesting as there is a big star coming to the free agent market soon. Former Ring of Honor World Champion Rush was interviewed by Sports Illustrated and revealed that his contract expires in January, when he was open to listening to other offers. Rush is currently out of action following knee surgery in August, which will leave him out of action for eight months. There is no word on which promotions will be trying to land Rush, though he has not begun renegotiating with Ring of Honor. Rush is a heck of a star. Check out how good he really is: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opini..

News On What To Expect From The WWE Draft

September 28, 2021 • Admin

It’s an eventful event. We are coming up on the annual WWE Draft, which starts later this Friday and wraps up next Monday. This is the annual event that changes the WWE rosters, with wrestlers being sent to and from Monday Night Raw and SmackDown. These changes reshape the way the WWE roster looks and we could be in for quite the set of moves this year. Now we might know a bit more about what to expect. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, several names from NXT are planned to move up to either Monday Night Raw or SmackDown in an effort to freshen up both shows. This comes two weeks after NXT was relaunched and introduced several new characters and wrestlers. In addition, FOX and USA both already know the key names who are going to be moved, though everything involved is still subject to change and little is set in stone as of yet. There have been some huge moves in the Draft before. Check out what you might be seeing: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contain..

Top WWE Star Misses Live Event For Unknown Reasons

September 28, 2021 • Admin

Has anyone seen him? There are a handful of wrestlers who are truly legends in their own time. Sometimes you find a wrestler who is just that great at everything they do and can stay near the top of the industry because they are just that good. These wrestlers are rare, but you know one when you see them. WWE has a few, but one of them was oddly missing this week. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Randy Orton did not make his advertised appearance at a live event this weekend. Orton appeared on last week’s Monday Night Raw but was not booked for Extreme Rules and was only referenced on this week’s Monday Night Raw. It is not clear why Orton missed the live event, or when he is expected back. Orton missed nearly two months earlier this year, returning to WWE TV in August. Ortonis certainly worth having around. REVIEW: Monday Night Raw – August 23, 1999: The First Of Many

September 28, 2021 • Admin

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Monday Night Raw Date: August 23, 1999 Location: Hilton Coliseum, Ames, Iowa Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler We’re done with Summerslam and in the surprise of the night, Mankind if the WWF Champion. That’s not the kind of thing you would expect to see, but then again this is 1999 WWF so oddities are a specialty. Steve Austin was attacked after the match was over, which should put him on the shelf for the time being. Let’s get to it. We open with a stills package of Mankind winning the WWF Title in a heck of ..

VIDEO: Goldberg Returns To Monday Night Raw With A Challenge

September 28, 2021 • Admin

Welcome back. There are certain legends in wrestling who make a bigger impact that others. It can be all the more impressive if they were not at the top of the world for all that long, as it means they made that much of an impression. There are certainly such names in WWE today, and one in particular made his return to WWE television this week with something to say. Goldberg made his return to WWE television this week on Monday Night Raw. After being injured at the hands of Bobby Lashley at Summerslam, Goldberg swore revenge after Lashley attacked Goldberg’s son after their match. There has not been a rematch announced between the two, though a match has been rumored for Crown Jewel, which is scheduled for October 21 in Saudi Arabia. He’s back. Check out Goldberg’s return and what set this up: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: It’s good that Goldberg is back as the story needs ..

WWE Star Issues Bounty On Shelton Benjamin

September 28, 2021 • Admin

You don’t hear about that very often. There are certainly angles that take place more than once in wrestling, but only after a long time has passed. That was the case with the bounty, as Harley Race offered thousands of dollars to anyone who would take out Ric Flair before Starrcade 1983. Triple H did the same thing with Goldberg in 2003, but now we are getting a slightly different version of the idea. This week’s Monday Night Raw featured the return of the Hurt Business, as Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin rejoined Bobby Lashley. The reformed team attempted to cost Big E. the WWE Title but the New Day made the save. WWE star Mia Yim has tweeted about the situation, offering any member of the New Day $20 to take out Benjamin. New Day has yet to respond to the offer. The new day Vs hurt business…. I love it!!! Which one wanna take my $20 to take out Shelton?! @WWEBigE @AustinCreedWins @TrueKofi #WWERaw — The HBIC (@MiaYim) September 28, 2021 This is a different one. Check out a..

Monday Night Raw Star Returns With New Nickname

September 28, 2021 • Admin

Welcome back. There are all kinds of wrestlers in WWE these days and it can be easy to lose track of some of them. Maybe they run out of things to do or maybe they are not on television all that often, but every now and then you see someone make a surprise appearance that catches you off guard. That was the case this week, with a return taking place. Keith Lee returned to Monday Night Raw for the first time in nearly two months, defeating Akira Tozawa in a surprise appearance. Tozawa had issued an open challenge and Lee returned, defeating Tozawa in less than a minute with the Big Bang Catastrophe. This comes after Lee had only been wrestling on live events and in dark matches. He also now uses the ring name Keith “Bearcat” Lee. This is something you might need to get used to. Warrant Issued For Former Impact Wrestling Star

September 28, 2021 • Admin

That’s a bit more serious. Wrestling is like any other industry in the world: there are going to be some people who wind up in some trouble, and it can be for some very serious things. Some of these can result in the person getting in some legal trouble and it can even wind up seeing them locked up for a bit. We might be seeing that again for a former wrestler in the near future. According to PWInsider.com, a bench warrant has been issues for former Impact Wrestling star Rhaka Khan prior to her upcoming trial on charges of aggravated kidnapping facilitate and interference with child custody. This kind of warrant can be issued when someone misses a scheduled hearing, though it is not clear if that is the case with Khan. Her trial is set to begin on October 4. Khan wrestled for Impact Wrestling from 2008-2009 and last wrestled in 2011. You might not remember her. VIDEO: New WWE Title Challenger Emerges

September 28, 2021 • Admin

I guess he’s next. The World Title is the biggest and most important championship a promotion can have. The name alone is about all you need to hear: the wrestler holding it is the best in the world. You might hear it called by a variety of names but it is about as simple of a concept as possible. Now we know who is coming for one of the most prominent titles in wrestling. This week’s Monday Night Raw ended with WWE Champion Big E. successfully defending his title against Bobby Lashley inside a steel cage. Following the match, the cage was raised and Drew McIntyre appeared, pointing his sword at Big E., who nodded in return. This would suggest that McIntyre is the next challenger for the title. The two have not had a singles match since 2014. This could be an interesting one. Check out who we might be seeing going head to head: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is the kind..
