VIDEO: WWE Debuts New Series With Two New Episodes

October 20, 2021 • Admin

The more the better. WWE does a lot of things in a lot of areas but their biggest focus is on creating content. The company cranks out more material than any other wrestling promotion ever and it can be interesting to see what they come up with from time to time. That is the case again, as WWE has released a new series with a pair of episodes to kick things off. WWE has released a new series on its YouTube channel called Build To, which will look at how the company reached certain events. The first two episodes will look at how the King of the Ring and Queen’s Crown tournament finals were set. Both tournament began in early October and will conclude this Thursday at Crown Jewel. There is no word on when any other episodes will air. This should be good. Check out the two episodes and what one is leading towards: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is one of those series that ..

WWE Hall Of Famer Undergoes Emergency Surgery

October 20, 2021 • Admin

That does not sound good. Wrestlers are a unique group of people as they are regularly on television, where they portray larger than life characters. This can make for some unique situations as it can occasionally be hard to determine where the characters end and where the real people begin. Unfortunately those people have their own share of problems as well, which was the case again this week. Debra Duggan, the wife of wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Hacksaw Jim Duggan has posted a message to Facebook showing Jim in a hospital bed. The post reveals that Jim is undergoing emergency surgery, though there is no word on what is wrong with him. Duggan has a history of health problems, including heart issues as well as beating kidney cancer in the 1990s. Duggan is a legend. REVIEW: Monday Night Raw – January 25, 1993: The First Classic

October 20, 2021 • Admin

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Monday Night Raw Date: January 25, 1993 Location: Manhattan Center, New York City, New York Attendance: 1,000 Commentators: Vince McMahon, Bobby Heenan, Rob Bartlett We are done with the Royal Rumble and I wouldn’t expect to hear much about that, as this show was taped last week. As for what we will be seeing this week, we have the Repo Man vs. Randy Savage in a battle over a hat, plus Mr. Perfect vs. Ric Flair in a Loser Leaves the WWF match. One of these things is not like the other so let’s get to it. Repo Man..

New Match Added To WWE Crown Jewel

October 20, 2021 • Admin

Get things started. We are coming up on WWE Crown Jewel and the card is mostly set. There are all kinds of matches on the show with a bunch of different things included. WWE has still been changing things even right before the show, with some matches being added this week on Monday Night Raw. Now we have one more match added to the card, or at least close to it. Now we have one more match added to the card, or at least close to it. WWE has announced that the Usos will face Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander on the Crown Jewel Kickoff Show in a non-title match. This will be an interpromotional match as Benjamin and Alexander are on Monday Night Raw while the Usos are the reigning SmackDown Tag Team Champions. The Crown Jewel Kickoff Show begins at 11am EST on Peacock and the WWE Network. This should be a good one. WWE Is Lightening Up A Bit On Scripting Some Promos

October 20, 2021 • Admin

Not everyone can say that. There are a lot of different aspects to being a successful wrestler but one of the most important is being able to talk. At some point wrestlers need to find a way to communicate with fans and the best way is often through a microphone. If a wrestler can talk well, it is going to make ufp for a lot of their other problems, and one wrestler’s talking abilities have earned him a special privilege. NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes was a guest on Busted Open Radio where he revealed that he is allowed some creative control in his promos. Hayes is given bullet points, but most of the words and phrases he uses are his own. This is partially as a way to reach a younger demographic, with NXT coach Shawn Michaels saying he trusted Hayes to help reach that group of fans. Hayes does have quite the talent. Check out what he has done in NXT: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click ..

Mustafa Ali Is Doing Something Unique About Crown Jewel

October 20, 2021 • Admin

That’s a nice thing to see. We are coming up on one of the biggest WWE events of the year, as Crown Jewel is taking place this Thursday. The show is going to be one of the highest profile on the WWE calendar and it could mean quite the payday for everyone involved. However, at least one wrestler is doing something a little different with his pay, and it won’t be the first time. Mustafa Ali has announced that he will be donating his earnings from Crown Jewel to charity. Ali only refers to the show as the 10/21 event rather than Crown Jewel. This is not the first time that Ali has donated his pay from a Saudi Arabian show to charity, as he did the same thing with Super Showdown in 2019. Ali is currently scheduled to face Mansoor at the show. Earnings from the 10/21 event will be donated to charity. — Mustafa Ali / Adeel Alam (@AliWWE) October 19, 2021 Ali can do a lot of things in the ring. VIDEO: Terrible Mistake Takes Place On NXT, Wrestler Removed From Match

October 20, 2021 • Admin

That did not look good. Wrestlers are very talented at what they do but there is always the chance of something going wrong. That is the kind of risk that every wrestler takes and it can be made even worse if they try to do something they are not quite ready to pull off. Sometimes that can lead to a bad ending, which was the case this week after a pretty bad mistake. This week’s NXT featured a triple threat match between Io Shirai, Persia Piratto and Jacy Jayne. During the match, Jayne attempted a suicide dive to the floor but caught her feet on the ropes, sending her face first onto the floor. The show went to a commercial and Jayne was gone when it came back without returning later in the match. There is no word on Jayne’s condition after the injury, though according to a fan on Twitter, she walked out of the arena. Let’s hope Jacy Jayne is ok ?? she walked out thank god! #wwenxt pic.twitter.com/tXA55jiVkc — Niko Exxtra (@nikoexxtra) October 20, 2021 It could have been worse. Che..

The Family Grows: AEW Announces A New Signing To The Company

October 20, 2021 • Admin

Welcome to the family. With so many talented wrestlers in the world today, it can be hard for a lot of them to ever be able to get their big break. You do see it happen though and those moments can make for some of the best things in wrestling. Sometimes you see someone break through right before your eyes and that seems to be the case again with a very talented wrestler. AEW President Tony Khan has announced that Daniel Garcia has officially been signed to a contract with the company. Garcia has been wrestling with the company for several months now, including teaming with 2Point0, and has wrestled against Sting, Jon Moxley and CM Punk. Garcia has commented on the signing, saying that he wanted to wrestle for a company where he could make a difference and saying that he planned to be a part of AEW for a long time to come. This year @GarciaWrestling came into @AEW with a great reputation built through his hard work on the indies, & he’s continued to work hard here in #AEW + he’s show..

Several Big Changes Made To Halloween Havoc Card

October 20, 2021 • Admin

Trick and treat? There are certain shows that take place at the same time every year because they would not make sense at any other point on the calendar. That can be a good or bad thing, as it can get annoying to have the same things every year, but there are also instances where it adds some fun anticipation. That should be the case next week and now we know more about the show. On Tuesday October 26, NXT will present its second annual Halloween Havoc special, which saw several additions and changes during this week’s show. First of all, MSK challenged Imperium to a match for MSK’s Tag Team Titles, which was later announced as a Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal match. Later in the night, Io Shirai defeated Persia Pirotta and Jacy Jayne in a triple threat match, allowing her to spin the wheel and determine the stipulation for the Women’s Tag Team Title match. As a result, the match will now be a Stairway To Hell ladder match. Next, LA Knight defeated Grayson Waller to earn the right to..

NXT Results – October 19, 2021

October 20, 2021 • Admin

NXT Date: October 19, 2021 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Vic Joseph, Wade Barrett Things got a bit more intense at the end of last week’s show as Carmelo Hayes cashed in his Breakout Tournament contract to become the new North American Champion. Odds are we’ll deal with some fallout, plus we have Halloween Havoc coming up next week. That might mean some spinning the wheel and making the deal so let’s get to it. Here are Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes to celebrate Hayes winning the North American Title last week. They aren’t humble, so tonight is the start of the Mellowbration, which seems to please the fans. Hayes talks about how great he is and says that he is holding this title, which is now the A title, for a long time. Cue Johnny Gargano, who says that he has been busy as of late, but now Candice LeRae is off pregnant and Austin Theory is on Raw, so now it’s time for him to get back in the ring. Gargano issues the challenge, but Trick says ..

205 Live Results – October 15, 2021

October 19, 2021 • Admin

205 Live Date: October 15, 2021 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Vic Joseph I’ve started liking this show a good bit more as it feels like NXT without the color scheme making my head hurt. NXT has needed a show like this for a good while now and it could do a good job in building up some people who do not get the chance otherwise. Hopefully they can do that again this week so let’s get to it. Jeet Rama vs. Boa Mei Ying is here with Boa. Rama works on the wrist to start but Boa is back with some kicks to the leg. That doesn’t work either so Rama takes him down for the quickly broken armbar. Back up and Boa works on Rama’s arm for a change, including bending it around the top rope. Some kicks drop Rama and there’s a knee to the arm. The armbar sets up a cobra clutch but Rama throws some suplexes. Boa goes right back to the arm though and kicks Rama in the head for the pin at 4:30. Result: Boa b. Jeet Rama – Kick to the head (4:30) J..

WRESTLING RUMOR: WWE Might Have Found Its Next Star

October 19, 2021 • Admin

They need someone new. There are all kinds of wrestlers in the world today, but at times you are going to see some of them leave. Maybe it is due to injury or burnout or just age, but at some point, wrestlers are going to leave. When those wrestlers leave, they are going to need someone to replace them, and WWE might be trying someone out in one of those spots. According to GiveMeSport, Montez Ford of the Street Profits is seen as a future singles star in the company. Ford faced Universal Champion Roman Reigns in the main event of the September 17 SmackDown in a match that was designed as a trial for his future singles push. There had been rumors of the Street Profits being split up in the WWE Draft, but the team ultimately stayed together, albeit with a move to Monday Night Raw. Ford feels like a star in the making. Here Are Some Of The Feuds WWE Has Planned In The Coming Months

October 19, 2021 • Admin

So that’s what’s next. The 2021 WWE Draft has come and gone and that means we have an idea of what to expect going forward for the next several months. There were several changes made to the WWE roster in that time and it should be interesting to see where things go from here. While the new rosters are not officially active yet, we have an idea of what we could be seeing. The KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York is advertising an upcoming WWE Live Event on December 30. This will be a show featuring the new rosters, which go into effect this coming Friday, October 22. Advertised for the show are Drew McIntyre/Kofi Kingston/Xavier Woods vs. Roman Reigns/Usos, plus Charlotte defending the Raw Women’s Title against Sasha Banks. There is no word on if Charlotte will continue to hold the title despite not being a member of the Raw roster. This could be a nice card. VIDEO: Alexa Bliss Teases Huge Gimmick Change For WWE Return

October 19, 2021 • Admin

Back to basics? Sometimes you will see a wrestler change almost everything about themselves while still being the same person underneath it all. That can make for some jarring changes, as you never know what you might be seeing along the way. Some of these have been far more successful than others, but now someone might be reverting to their old self. During this week’s Monday Night Raw, Alexa Bliss sent out a tweet which included a video of her evil self transitioning into her old self. The old version smiles at the end of the clip. While not confirmed, this could suggest that Bliss will be back in her old character when she returns. Bliss has been out of action since Extreme Rules due to undergoing sinus surgery and it is unknown when she will be back. Bliss is quite the star. Check out her video, plus both of her more well known characters: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: T..

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Changing Monday Night Raw Star’s Character (Again)

October 19, 2021 • Admin

It’s in the presentation. There are so many wrestlers in the world today that it can be hard to find a way to make them stand out. Thankfully there are ways around those issues in the form of gimmicks, as a wrestler can play a character of some kind in a way to get some extra attention. That is certainly the case in WWE and now one of its stars may be in for some gimmick adjustments. According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, WWE is adjusting Karrion Kross’ character. The new idea will be to present Kross as a “psycho” who is still “cool and calm”. This will include changing his theme song, but he will continue to wear his helmet and will continue to be without Scarlett. Kross was called up to the main roster earlier this year while still NXT Champion. Source states WWE is shifting Karrion Kross’ character once again. Plan is for him to be more of a “psycho” yet still “calm & cool.” As of now the helmet stays, but for whatever reason, still no Scarlett. Presentation of entrance i..

WWE Ranks Higher Than NFL, MLB And Many More In Important Survey

October 19, 2021 • Admin

They’re valuable. Despite some recent problems, WWE is still the biggest and most powerful wrestling promotion in the world and it really isn’t that much of a competition. The company has been on top of the wrestling world for such a long time now and that has allowed them to build up quite the reputation. Now we know a bit more about how strong that reputation has become. SportsPro, a sports marketing firm, has released a list of the fifty most marketable sports properties in the world, with WWE coming in at #20. This puts them ahead of the UFC (#27) and the NFL (#37) and ahead of all American entries, save for the NBA and the Los Angeles Lakers. WWE has sent out a tweet celebrating the accomplishment, which was determined by a survey of over 360,000 people between the ages of 13 and 64 worldwide. There were over 500 teams, organizations and events in the survey. .@WWE ranked #20 in @SportsPro’s 2021 50 Most Marketable Properties list, an annual ranking of the world's sports pr..

WrestleFest 1990 Host: Sean Mooney Commentators: Sean Mooney, Lord Alfred Hayes, Gorilla Monsoon, Hillbilly Jim, Tony Schiavone This is the kind of thing that I love to watch: a compilation video featuring a bunch of stuff from television tapings which is cobbled together with almost nothing in the way of a theme. There might be a wrestler getting a few matches in a row, but this is kind of a sampler platter of the company at this point in time. Let’s get to it. Sean Mooney welcomes us to the show and runs down t..

He’s On The Loose: Former World Champion Becoming A Free Agent

October 19, 2021 • Admin

He’s on the market. Wrestling is changing faster than it ever has before and that is a great thing to see in a lot of ways. One of the most important aspects of modern wrestling is how easy it is to see wrestlers from around the world. This allows promotions to see who else they might want to sign when they get the chance, and another person has been added to the free agent list. According to Fightful Select, Tom Lawlor’s contract with Major League Wrestling is expiring, with his recent loss in a casket match being used as a way to write him off of television. Lawlor is a former Major League Wrestling World Champion, as well as the winner of the Battle Riot and the Opera Cup. There is no word on where Lawlor will be signing next, though he is the current New Japan Pro Wrestling Strong Openweight Champion. You might need to get used to him. WATCH: Very Special Guest Announced For Halloween Havoc

October 19, 2021 • Admin

It’s been done. Wrestling is a unique form of entertainment, as it exists in its own bubble, with a unique presentation that makes it feel different than anything else. It is rare to see wrestling cross over with over forms of entertainment, but it certainly can make for some unique situations. That is what we are going to be seeing again next week in a bit of corporate synergy. The USA Network has announced that Chucky, the doll from the Child’s Play franchise, will be guest starring on the October 26 Halloween Havoc special edition of NXT. There is no word on what Chucky will be doing on the show. This will be the second time that Chucky has appeared on a wrestling show, as he appeared on WCW Monday Nitro on October 12, 1999. This is something different. Two New Matches Set For WWE Crown Jewel

October 19, 2021 • Admin

And then there were two. We are less than four days away from WWE’s Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia and that means the show is going to be one of the biggest of the year. The shows airing from the country are often stacked with one big match after another and that will be the case again this time. Now we know two more of the matches and both have something on the line. The finals of the King of the Ring and Queen’s Crown tournaments were officially set during this week’s Monday Night Raw. Xavier Woods defeated Jinder Mahal to earn the right to face Finn Balor for the King of the Ring. Later, Doudrop defeated Shayna Baszler, meaning she will face Zelina Vega. This year marks the first time that WWE has ever presented the Queen’s Crown tournament. This should work well. Check out how this week’s matches were set and what is on the line for the new King: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] ..
