This Week’s SmackDown Is Getting Some Monday Night Raw Guest Stars

December 10, 2021 • Admin

They have guest stars. There are so many wrestlers on the WWE roster that the company has been able to split them into multiple groups. Both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown have stand alone rosters and you do not often get to see the two of them getting together very often. It is certainly a big different to see it happen and that will be the case this week again. WWE has announced that Raw Tag Team Champions RKBro will be appearing on this week’s edition of SmackDown. The team will be taking part in a non-title triple threat match against the New Day and the SmackDown Tag Team Champions the Usos. There is no word on why RKBro will be making the appearance and nothing to suggest that this will be anything more than a one off match. These teams could be awesome together. Check out all three of them in action: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: It wouldn’t surprise me if this is a ..

WATCH: Bobby Roode’s Smackdown Debut

December 10, 2021 • Admin

Absolutely Glorious! WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the full debut of Bobby Roode on the main roster in 2017. He debuted on the August 22 episode of Smackdown Live. You can see the video in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From our own Thomas Hall: The fans go INSANE for the entrance and Roode seems to be a face, at least for the night. They take turns posing at each other with Roode clotheslining English to the floor and sending us to a break. Back with English in control but Roode drives him into the corner for some chops. A forearm sets up the Blockbuster as JBL says Roode needs to win to get some beer money. English hits a Director’s Cut for two but walks into a spinebuster. The Glorious DDT ends English at 6:28. Result: Bobby Roode b. Aiden English – Glorious DDT (6:28) Post-match, Roode says everything he does is big box office and in a New York minute Smackdown has gone from great to GLORIOUS. Chris Jericho Hospitalized, Fozzy Concert Canceled

December 10, 2021 • Admin

Get well soon. There are all kinds of reasons for a wrestler to miss a show and some of them are a lot more serious than others. You never know what might be taking place to cause someone to be gone and sometimes it can be rather scary to hear what is wrong with them. That is the case again now, even if it is with a wrestler who is not in the ring at the moment. Swansea Sin City has announced via Facebook that Friday’s Fozzy concert has been canceled due to lead singer Chris Jericho has been hospitalized with a treatable medical issue. Details were not revealed, other than that the issue was not Coronavirus related. There is no word on what this will mean for Jericho’s AEW work, though he was written off of television with an injury to allow him to go on the concert tour. Jericho can do a lot of things when he is healthy. Check out what he can do in the ring: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to p..

History Has Been Made! Title Change Takes Place Thursday Afternoon

December 10, 2021 • Admin

History has been made! Titles are the main storytelling device in all of wrestling because they are a simple concept. Give someone a shiny championship belt and have other wrestlers try to take it. That is one of those ideas that any fan can understand in a hurry and it makes title changes mean that much more. That was on display this week as some titles changed hands. This week on NXT UK, Moustache Mountain defeated Pretty Deadly to become the new NXT UK Tag Team Champions. The win marks the first title reign for Moustache Mountain and makes them the only team to win both the NXT Tag Team Titles and NXT UK Tag Team Titles. Pretty Deadly had held the titles for 288 days, winning them on the February 25 edition of NXT UK. This is a big deal. Check out the title match, the post win comments and some of the champs’ time stateside: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is a title ..

BREAKING: WWE Releases Jeff Hardy

December 9, 2021 • Admin

According to a tweet from WrestleVotes, via Fightful, WWE has come to terms on the release of Jeff Hardy. This release occurs just days after he was sent home from the company’s most recent tour. Per @Fightful, WWE has released Jeff Hardy. — WrestleVotes (@WrestleVotes) December 9, 2021 It is unknown at this point if the two incidents are related. Hardy was most recently seen on this past week’s episode of Smackdown, alongside Drew McIntyre, as the pair took out Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss. You can see a clip of that below: [This post contains video, click to play] We will continue to monitor this story and provide updates as they become available to us. Editor’s Opinion: I have many thoughts about this. My first is that I hope that this has nothing to do with a substance relapse, as it is well documented that Hardy has had issues with this in the past. However, he seems to have cleaned up his act and is doing a lot better, so I hope that isn’t the case. My second thought is ..

VIDEO: MJF’s Awesome Homecoming After AEW Dynamite Ends

December 9, 2021 • Admin

It’s a good way to go out. With so many wrestlers on any given television show, it can be difficult to do something that makes you stand out. Some wrestlers are going to get extra attention from the fans though and one of the most common ways is if they are the hometown star. That was the case this week, but as often happens, the show was not over when the cameras stopped rolling. This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite took place in Maxwell Jacob Friedman’s hometown of Long Island, New York. Following the show, AEW President Tony Khan brought Friedman back to the ring, with Friedman using My Life by Billy Joel as his special entrance music. Friedman thanks Khan and said it would cost a lot of money to keep him in AEW in 2024. He also took shots at CM Punk for Punk’s comments during Dynamite and said he had dreamed of wrestling here one day. This was pretty awesome. Check out both parts of the promo, plus Friedman’s most famous talking to date: [This post contains video, click to play] ..

Bite Me? How Michael Cole Almost Infected Jim Ross

December 9, 2021 • Admin

That’s a different story. Injuries are one of the few things that can happen to anyone in wrestling at any time. That is not a good thing either, as you could have something happen to someone at the drop of a hat and take them out of action. Some of these are more serious than others, but you have probably heard of most of the more common ones. This time though, there might be a new one for you. During a recent edition of his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross talked about his feud with Michael Cole in 2011, including a time when he punched Cole in the mouth. The punch hit Cole’s teeth and caused Ross’ knuckles to bleed. As a result, Ross had to receive a tetanus shot and doses of antibiotics to fight off a potential infection. The injury was the same as Cole biting Ross’ hand and the medical staff wanted to take extra precautions. It was a rough time. It Has A Good Beat: WWE’s Top Entrance Songs Of The Year

December 9, 2021 • Admin

I give it a 98. Theme music is one of the most important parts of any wrestler’s career. Having the right song can make all the difference in the world, as it sets the atmosphere for an entrance. That is the kind of thing that needs to be done well and modern WWE goes a long way to make everything work out. It works so well that WWE is taking a look at some of their better recent efforts. WWE has released an Instagram post looking at the five most listened WWE theme songs of the year. This is based on the company’s picks rather than most plays or anything from the fans. Most of the songs are WWE originals, though there is one song that was produced by another band and used in WWE. Several of these songs were introduced over the course of the year. Here they are in order: 1. Head of the Table (Roman Reigns) 2. No More Words (Jeff Hardy) 3. Visionary (Seth Rollins) 4. Talk To Me (RK-Bro Remix) 5. The Rising Sun (Feat. Rick Boogs) View this post on Instagram A post shared by WWE (@wwe)..

REVIEW: No Mercy 2006: All Hail

December 9, 2021 • Admin

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? No Mercy 2006 Date: October 8, 2006 Location: RBC Arena, Raleigh, North Carolina Attendance: 9,000 Commentators: Michael Cole, John Bradshaw Layfield We’re back to the pay per views and this time around it’s another pretty low level one with one of the weaker Smackdown shows. The main event, as of two days ago, is now a four way with King Booker defending his title against Finlay, Batista and Bobby Lashley. Other than that we have Chavo Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio in a Falls Count Anywhere match as the second bigges..

You Can Have A Hologram Of Braun Strowman (And It’s Pretty Cheap)

December 9, 2021 • Admin

It’s a different place to go. Wrestling is unique in that you get to see what they are doing in front of the camera and in the ring, but those wrestlers are on the other side of a barricade. As close as the wrestlers may be, they are still rather far away. That isn’t something that can be changed very often, but now there is a new option in a rather unique way that you do not get to see very often. Adam Scherr, formerly known as Braun Strowman during his time in WWE, has been announced as the first wrestler available as a hologram for personal greetings. Scherr will be part of the augmented reality service ImagineAR on Famedays.com and will be available for a variety of greetings, including birthdays and holidays. Scherr is the first wrestler to sign up for the service, which costs $4.99-$14.99 depending on the celebrity. Scherr was one of the bigger stars in WWE. Check out his time in the company: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play]..

WATCH: Surprising Return Takes Place On AEW Dynamite

December 9, 2021 • Admin

Welcome back. There are a lot of wrestlers on the AEW roster and several of them have quite the fan base. Some of them pop up more often than not and that can make for some rather fun moments. It can be even better if someone who has been gone for a long time is getting to make a special return. That was the case this week and it was a heck of a surprise. This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured a tag team match between the Young Bucks and Chuck Taylor/Rocky Romero. After the match was over, the Bucks and Adam Cole continued attacking Taylor and Romero. Eventually a van drove into the arena and the returning Trent Beretta came in for the save. Beretta has been out of action since April after neck surgery. There is no word on when he will be returning to the ring. It was a cool moment. Check out the return, plus Trent back in the ring: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This ..

WATCH: Roman Reigns’ Best Moments of 2021

December 9, 2021 • Admin

Acknowledge the amazing year that he had. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the best moments from 2021 of the Universal Champion Roman Reigns. You can see the video in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] The moments are as follows: Choking out Kevin Owens at the Royal Rumble Destroying Rey Mysterio inside Hell in a Cell Defeating Finn Balor on the September 3 episode of Smackdown Coming face-to-face with Brock Lesnar after defeating John Cena at SummerSlam Defeating Big E and Bobby Lashley in a Triple Threat match on the September 20 episode of RAW Editor’s Opinion: Although this video is only a little over 8 minutes long, you could have an entire hour’s worth of clips and it wouldn’t be enough. Roman Reigns has firmly established himself as the best professional wrestler in the world, and it’s not close. Everything that he says, everything that he does, and everything that he is is must-see television every week. Combi..

MJF Takes Major Shot At WWE, NXT

December 9, 2021 • Admin

He continues to be better than you. MJF has never been one to be afraid to say what he thinks and take shots at the people and places that he feels are beneath him. He recently did this, when commenting on a potentially major shake-up in WWE, NXT, and AEW. One of the major stories as of late has been the NXT contracts of both Johnny Gargano and Kyle O’Reilly expiring before the end of the year. MJF made his thoughts known on the subject matter, in a graphic posted to his Facebook page, which you can see below: In the post, MJF says that O’Reilly heading to AEW is a good thing and Gargano heading to RAW is a bad thing. From our own Thomas Hall: This week’s NXT featured O’Reilly being laid out by Von Wagner and Gargano being attacked after talking about how his future was unclear. A video and several photos have been released online, showing Gargano, O’Reilly, and NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa in the ring and around the arena after the show. MJF has never been afraid to speak his mind..

December 9, 2021 • Admin

We have some sad news to report today as WWE Hall of Famer, Blackjack Lanza, has passed away at the age of 86. From WWE.com: [Blackjack] Jack Lanza was a man’s man, respected and beloved by all. He loved and worked for WWE for many years. His loyalty and dedication will never be forgotten. Also from WWE.com: The Blackjacks were one of the most infamous and merciless tag teams ever. They were two tough Texans who could back up their intimidating look with relentless offense and rule-breaking. Blackjack Mulligan was a brutish 6-foot-9, 340-pound native of Sweetwater. In addition to many regional championships, Mulligan was NWA World Tag Team Champion (with Ric Flair), NWA United States Heavyweight Champion and NWA World Heavyweight champion, defeating WWE Hall of Famer Bobo Brazil. Mulligan also had many memorable battles with WWE Hall of Famer Andre the Giant, as well as matches with Pedro Morales and Bruno Sammartino. Jack Lanza, with his devastating Iron Claw, was mean and sadis..

Making that money. AEW Dynamite Results – December 8, 2021

December 9, 2021 • Admin

Dynamite Date: December 8, 2021 Location: UBS Arena, New York City, New York Commentators: Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Taz We’re in New York again and this time around it’s the homecoming of MJF, which should be interesting. Other than that we have the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royal as the company has some traditions going for it already. I’m not sure what to expect here, but Bryan Danielson kicking John Silver’s head in should be good. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Here is MJF…..’s music to start, but CM Punk comes out instead. The fans aren’t pleased, so Punk asks if that’s all they’ve got. Punk: “I’ve figured out why the Islanders have yet to win a game in this building.” Punk says the fans don’t disappoint, unlike their guy, MJF. It’s getting hot in here so he takes off his hoodie, revealing the AEW pillars, including Britt Baker. After explaining that he can respect Baker without trying to get in her pants, Punk says MJF was talking about being better than Roddy Piper in Por..

WRESTLING RUMORS KILLER On Wrestling Couple Splitting Up

December 9, 2021 • Admin

Not so fast? Relationships among wrestlers are complicated to say the least and they can often cause a lot of issues for the people involved. Sometimes there are going to be some moments that do not make the most sense, especially to those on the outside looking in. That seems to be the case again, as a wrestling couple’s status might not be what it was believed to be. Earlier this month, reports surfaced that Andre El Idolo and Charlotte had ended their romantic relationship. However, El Idolo seems to have refuted the idea with a tweet of his own, sending out a message saying “Hola! Good morning Mami F…..Fake News”. The breakup had never been officially announced, with the only evidence being that the two unfollowed each other on social media. Hola! Good morning #Mami F…. Fake News ??????? #ElIdolo #Andrade pic.twitter.com/EIpBnlegzu — “EL IDOLO” ANDRADE (@AndradeElIdolo) December 8, 2021 They are quite the talented couple. KB’s REVIEW: The Gift That Keeps On Giving

December 9, 2021 • Admin

It’s the Christmas season and that means a lot of people are going to be focusing on gifts (which does at least tie into the more important part of Jesus’ (look him up, as I hear there’s a good book about him) birth). Since I’m kind of a Christmas freak, that sounds like a good place to bring wrestling, which is where we’re going today. This week we’re looking at wrestlers focusing on their in-ring gifts, which unfortunately has become a bit more complicated than it needs to be. Back at Wrestlemania XIII, Shawn Michaels was doing guest commentary for the main event between Sid and Undertaker. As tended to be the case with almost any of his matches, Sid was wrestling a power style, which was not the most in-depth in the world. However, as Michaels pointed out, the power had gotten him all the way to the WWF Title, so why would he switch things up now? The power was his gift, and that is where we are starting today. One of the common criticisms that you will hear from some fans is that..

Ring Of Honor TV Results – December 1, 2021

December 9, 2021 • Admin

Ring of Honor Date: December 1, 2021 Location: 2300 Arena, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Commentators: Caprice Coleman, Ian Riccaboni We are on the way to Final Battle and this time around we have a big time showdown between Jay Lethal and EC3. That’s the kind of a match that could go in a few different ways and it could be an interesting showdown. Now just build up something else for Final Battle and we should have a good week. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Quinn McKay welcomes us to the show and runs down the card. Briscoes vs. PCO/Danhausen Danhausen has some teeth questions to start and gets punched in the face for his efforts. PCO comes in to chop/scream it out with Mark, who seems to enjoy this. A big shot puts Mark down and it’s Danhausen tagging himself back in. Jay comes in as well but Danhausen shouts that he isn’t ready, even as Jay knocks him down. We take a break and come back with Jay unloading on Danhausen in the corner but Danhausen is back up with a surprise Ger..

VIDEO: Jim Duggan’s Incredible Health Update

December 9, 2021 • Admin

That’s what a tough guy would do. Wrestlers are superheroes in a lot of ways, in that they are out there in front people doing ridiculous and often amazing things every single week. It can be easy to get behind one of the wrestlers and cheer them to no end, but there are always going to be things that happen to them behind the scenes. That was the case with one wrestling legend, but now there is a great update. Hacksaw Jim Duggan has released a new update on Twitter, announcing that he is officially cancer free. Earlier this year, Duggan revealed that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer and had undergone surgery. The cancer was contained in the prostate and completely removed, and everything else was clear. This was Duggan’s second round of cancer, after he previously beat kidney cancer in the late 1990s. This is great to hear. Check out the announcement, plus some of Duggan’s career: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This..
