He’s new around here. There are all kinds of stars on the WWE roster but the company has to constantly add in new names on a regular basis. The company can find talent from a variety of places and one of the most common is from other promotions. This could be from anywhere in the country, but sometimes WWE goes international, which is what they have done with another star.

This Wednesday, Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide ran their Noche de Campeones event in Acapulco, Mexico. During the show, Dragon Lee and Dralistico defeated FTR to become the new AAA World Tag Team Champions. Following the match, Lee announced that he had signed with WWE, with no word of what will happen to the titles. WWE later sent out a tweet announcing that Lee would be starting with NXT in January. Lee, 27, is a former Ring Of Honor Tag Team and Television Champion.

It’s another stacked show this week with another Death Triangle vs. Elite match, plus the TNT Title is on the line as Samoa Joe defends against Wardlow. Other than that, we are going to hear from MJF, but Bryan Danielson might have something to say about him. Let’s get to it.

Bryan Danielson vs. Ethan Page Stokely Hathaway is here with Page…and hang on as here is MJF in a sky box to watch. The distraction lets Page jump Danielson, with MJF having his own mic to mock him for a bonus. Page hits a slam but Danielson is right back with a running clothesline. The chops rock Page and the kicks in the corner make it even worse. Page knocks him back down but Danielson manages to knock him off the top.
The top rope dropkick drops Page but Danielson has to knock Hathaway’s hat off. The distraction doesn’t work for Page, who gets dropkicked to the flo..

He wasn’t a fan. This year has seen all kinds of changes throughout WWE but the biggest change of them all has been the retirement of Vince McMahon. After decades of running the company, McMahon announced his retirement back in July, throwing everything out of whack. There have been several changes since McMahon left, and now we know one more thing that seems to have changed as a result of his departure.

According to Fightful Select, McMahon was against the idea of “no cut” clauses in WWE contracts. New co-CEO Nick Khan is said to be open to the idea, though there is no word on if WWE is including them more frequently. Maybe it’s him. Roman Reigns has dominated WWE over the last two years, holding the Universal Championship since August 2020. During his reign, Reigns has dominated the WWE roster and there have been very few people who have bee able to give him a run for his money. That leaves some former WWE names interested in trying their luck, and now another is interested in giving it a shot.

Former WWE star Matt Cardona, formerly known as Zack Ryder, posted a tweet asking what he should do in 2023. The RetroMania Wrestling Twitter account replied with an image of Cardona facing Reigns at WrestleMania 39, with Cardona liking the post. Cardona has discussed returning to WWE at some point in the future, though there is nothing to suggest that a return is imminent or even officially being negotiated.

What could have been. Celebrities have been a part of WrestleMania throughout the event’s history. You will almost always see some sort of celebrity involvement at the show and it can be fascinating to see someone come into the wrestling world. He’s worth the wait. There are all kinds of stars on the modern WWE roster but there is only so much time to spend on them. Various things can keep someone off television and one of the worst is an injury. You never know when someone can be injured and put on the shelf, and now WWE is dealing with an injured star that they are going to treat with some special attention.

SmackDown star Drew McIntyre has been out of action for a bit over a month now due to an ear injury. McIntyre appeared this week on Monday Night Raw, saying that he was getting ready to return and would be back soon. According to PWInsider.com, WWE is making sure that McIntyre is “beyond 100%” ready when he is cleared. There is still no word on when McIntyre will be able to return to the ring.

Crossing company lines. The rise of AEW has changed the wrestling world. After years of WWE dominating the industry, AEW has offered a new platform for the wrestlers and fans to go. There are several prominent stars on the AEW roster, including many former WWE names. They have a plan. Wrestling has a long history of having athletes from other sports coming in to try their hand in the squared circle. It offers an easy concept for fans to grasp and might bring some other fans from the other sport over with them. Now it seems that WWE has their eye on bringing back a champion from another sport who has worked with them in the past.

In addition, according to Fightful Select, several other talents were late to the event. It might be a bit. With so many talented wrestlers on the AEW roster, it can be difficult for everyone to find television time. At some point, a wrestler is going to be left off of television for one reason or another, some of which can be rather negative. This time a star is missing, but the only thing we know about it is that he does not seem overly bothered by his own absence.
