Start The Card: First Title Match Set For WWE Money In The Bank

There’s one. We are now done with Hell In A Cell, meaning Money In The Bank is right around the corner. The next major WWE pay per view is in less than a month and the show is going to need to be a big one. WWE knows to put on a special show and they have already started setting up the card, as a first title match was set for the show this very week.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Rhea Ripley won a fatal four way match to become the new #1 contender for the Raw Women’s Title. As a result, Ripley will be challenging Bianca Belair for the title at Monday In The Bank on July 2. Ripley defeated Liv Morgan, Alexa Bliss and Doudrop to gain the title shot, pinning Doudrop with the Riptide in the show’s main event.
Opinion: This is the way you build a show as WWE wasted no time in setting up a fresh title match for the pay per view. That alone is more than you could say for a lot of Hell In A Cell so it is nice to see things getting off on the right foot. WWE has a lot of work left to do to ..

It’s time for another title match as the Tag Team Titles are up for grabs, this time in a triple threat. Moustache Mountain will be defending against Die Familie and Ashton Smith/Oliver Carter, the latter of whom has been on quite the roll lately. Other than that, we could be in for a bit of anything so let’s get to it.
The opening video looks at the Tag Team Title match and how the teams all want to leave with the belts.
Opening sequence.
Sam Gradwell vs. Von Wagner Wagner gets the better of a slugout to start and some elbow drops have Gradwell breathing rather deeply. A fall away slam drops Gradwell again as commentary puts over Wagner as much as they can. The crossface chickenwing is broken up so Wagner knees him in the back to cut him off again. Gradwell fights out of a bearhug but gets put right back in it just a few seconds later. The second comeback works a bi..

Huge Shakeup To WWE Stable, Original Member Out And New Member In

Well that’s different. Stables are one of the best ideas in wrestling as they allow several wrestlers to get television time on a regular basis. Sometimes it is the only way for a wrestler to be able to make a show and the idea has worked for a very long time. That is the case again in WWE, but now the team has been completely shaken up in a way that might not have been expected.
This week’s Monday Night Raw featured Judgment Day announcing that Finn Balor was joining the team. However, Balor, Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley turned on Edge, the founder of the team, and beat him down. Edge was hit with a Conchairto to leave him laying. There is no word on the future of the team or how long Edge might be out of action as a result.
Opinion: That’s certainly a curve ball and that is not a bad thing. I haven’t been wild on Judgment Day so far but I can go with having Balor get something else to do, as he has been kind of stuck doing the same things over and over again for a long time. Maybe..

BREAKING: John Cena Officially Set For WWE Return

There’s your return. There are certain stars who are bigger than just about everyone else and there is no way to hide it. You do not see too many of them throughout WWE history but you certainly know one when you see them. That is the case in modern WWE as well and now one of the biggest stars in the history of the company will be making a return to television.
John Cena’s return to WWE was announced this week on Monday Night Raw. Cena will be returning on the June 27 Monday Night Raw from Laredo, Texas. The show is the final episode before Money in the Bank, though it is not clear what Cena will be doing. This will be Cena’s first appearance since August 2021, when he lost to Roman Reigns in the main event of Summerslam.
Opinion: This is one of those things that could change a lot for WWE, if nothing else for the sake of growing the audience. Cena is one of the few names who is a bigger star than anyone else on the roster no matter what he is doing and there is always the chance tha..

We are done with Hell In A Cell and that means we are done with Cody Rhodes for the time being. Rhodes defeated Seth Rollins in the main event last night but did so with a torn pectoral muscle. We won’t be seeing him for a long time, so now the question is what happens on the road to Money In The Bank. I’m sure that song will ensue. Let’s get to it.

NXT LVL Up
Date: June 3, 2022
Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Sudu Shah
The normal trend of this show is likely to continue this week as we have three more matches between people who aren’t usually going to make it to NXT proper. That can make for some acceptable background noise but rarely much more than that unfortunately. You get used to the concept though so let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Fallon Henley vs. Brooklyn Barlow They go to the mat to start and it’s a pair of standoffs before Henley grabs the armbar. An exchange of rollups get two each and Barlow wants her to bring it. Back up and they fight over a lockup until Barlow starts working on the arm instead. She cranks on the neck as well but Henley fights out with a faceplant. A running knee finishes for Henley 4:22.
Result: Fallon Henley b. Brooklyn Barlow – Running knee (4:22)
Tatum Paxley vs. Sloane Jacobs They grapple around to start with neither being able to ge..

We’re closing in on Slammiversary and in this case that means even more Eric Young. I’m not sure what that is going to mean, but the good thing is that things haven’t been too terrible so far. Young is set to challenge Josh Alexander for the World Title at Slammiversary but the show needs some more buildup first. Let’s get to it.
The opening recap looks at last week’s main event, with Violent By Design beating Josh Alexander and the Briscoes.
We get a new opening sequence, complete with a THIS IS TNA voiceover, albeit set to the current roster.
Mia Yim vs. Savannah Evans Deonna Purrazzo is on commentary and Tasha Steelz is here with Evans. The entrances let commentary explain the still rather complicated Queen Of The Mountain rules. Yim fires off knees to start and sends Evans down early. Evans is right back with a DDT for two as Purrazzo talks about how she never neede..

WWE Announces The Return Of A Classic Series As A One Off Special

Add it to the calendar. There are all kinds of special shows running throughout the WWE calendar, as the company has long since gone with a series of shows that have history behind them. This can make for some nice moments, as a show can continue in the path that has been set over its previous years. That will be the case again next month as WWE is bringing back a classic.
Over the weekend at NXT In Your House, an announcement was made that the Great American Bash would be returning on Tuesday July 5 as a special episode of the NXT TV show. This will be the third straight year that the Great American Bash has taken place in NXT in July. The Great American Bash was originally a series of NWA events, then a regular WCW and WWE pay per view before becoming an occasional WWE TV special.
Mark your calendars! #NXTIYH #WWENXT pic.twitter.com/nLJDWkoeXR

Opinion: This is the kind of show that makes sense for NXT to run, as the Great American Bash certainly h..

Wait, There’s More: What Happened After WWE Hell In A Cell Ended

You might want to listen. Sometimes in wrestling, you will see a performance that you cannot get out of your head. There is something so impressive about it that it sticks with you over the years and becomes one of those classic moments. That might have been the case this weekend, and despite the match being the main event of the show, there was something else to end the night.
The main event of this weekend’s Hell In A Cell pay per view saw Cody Rhodes defeat Rollins. Rhodes wrestled the match with a torn pectoral muscle and had a large bruise all over his arm and chest. According to PWInsider.com following the show, a crying Rhodes said he would announce more about his injury tomorrow on Monday Night Raw and apologized for wrestling hurt. He made it clear that wrestling was his decision and he would win the WWE Title. Rhodes thanked the fans for coming to the show to end the night.
Opinion: That is quite the apology as I don’t think anyone was looking for one. Rhodes wrestled a hec..

WRESTLING RUMORS: How Cody Rhodes Was Allowed To Wrestle At Hell In A Cell

That explains a bit. Every so often you see a wrestling performance that defies all logic and abilities, as you might not know how someone is able to do what they pull off in the ring. That was the case this weekend as a wrestler worked through one of the most gruesome injuries that you will likely remember for a very long time. Now we know a bit more about how it happened.
At Hell In A Cell, Cody Rhodes defeated Seth Rollins in the show’s main event, which was held inside the show’s title structure. Rhodes wrestled the match despite having torn his pectoral muscle earlier in the week. According to Wrestlingnews.co, Rhodes was allowed to wrestle the match because he could not cause any more damage. However, some spots, including a moonsault, were removed from the match.
The reasoning for why Cody was cleared to wrestle is because he can’t do more damage to his completely torn pec. There were some high risk spots (moonsault) that were scrapped from the match. #HIAC

SmackDown Star May Be Missing Time After Brutal Match At Hell In A Cell

Maybe that’s how they get rid of him? There are a lot of different ways to get a wrestler off of television from time to time. Sometimes it might be due to an injury but it can also be a way to get them a breather for one reason or another. You never know when you might be seeing them again and that seems to be the case again with a SmackDown star who seems to be taking time off.
This weekend at Hell In A Cell, Madcap Moss defeated Happy Corbin in a No Holds Barred match. Moss won the match by Pillmanizing Corbin’s neck with the steel steps. As a result, Corbin was taken out of the ring on a stretcher, suggesting that he could be missing some time. This comes less than a month after Corbin did the same to Moss, putting him on the shelf for three weeks.
Opinion: Corbin taking some time away might be the right idea, as it will make Moss look that much stronger. Moss has become a bigger deal over the last few months and taking out Corbin makes him seem like a force. I could go for havin..

Yes, Another: Bryan Danielson Also Missing Time Due To Injury

Danielson too. There are all kinds of injuries in wrestling and there are instances where it seems like they keep happening over and over. That seems to be the case again as there have been injuries to top stars in both WWE and AEW. Unfortunately it seems that you never know when they are going to end, and now it seems that another star is banged up as well.
According to Fightful Select, AEW’s Bryan Danielson has been injured and was forced to pull out of a scheduled meet and greet in Massachusetts. According to F4WOnline.com, Danielson’s injury is not said to be serious and he will be out of action for about a week or two. There is no word on the nature of his injury, but it is believed to have taken place during the Anarchy In The Arena match at Double Or Nothing.
Opinion: This comes after a long, long list of other injuries but at least Danielson’s injuries do not seem to be that serious. It is a shame that he was hurt, but at least it could be a heck of a lot worse. You had to ex..
