The Big Return: Top WWE Star Makes Surprise Return At Summerslam

Welcome back. With so many wrestlers on the WWE roster, it can be more than a little tricky to keep track of them all. At some point someone is going to go away for a bit and that can set up a nice return down the line. This could be due to an injury or because of an angle, and over the weekend, one of the biggest names of all time returned with revenge on his mind.
Edge made his return to WWE this weekend at Summerslam, costing Judgment Day a tag match against the Mysterios. This ends a month plus long hiatus for Edge, who was attacked by and thrown out of Judgment Day on Monday Night Raw. Edge was reportedly scheduled to return earlier in the week on Monday Night Raw but the plans were changed due to Vince McMahon’s retirement from WWE.
Opinion: Edge coming back to deal with Judgment Day was a matter of when rather than if and that is a good thing to see. There is a natural story there, though it would have been nice to have the team built up a lot more during Edge’s absence. Edge ..

Summerslam 2022 Results

Summerslam 2022
Date: July 30, 2022
Location: Nissan Stadium, Nashville, Tennessee
Commentators: Michael Cole, Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton
It’s time for one of the biggest shows of the year and that means we are in another stadium. The show is going to be interesting for a few reasons, including the fact that it is the first Summerslam ever not under Vince McMahon’s watch. That means we might be seeing something new this time around so let’s get to it.
The opening video features a country song about Nashville and how it’s a crazy town. The rest of the video looks at the major matches, with Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar not getting that much of a focus above the rest.
Raw Women’s Title: Bianca Belair vs. Becky Lynch Lynch is challenging. They go to the mat to start with Belair running her over, only to have Lynch snap the arm to take over. Back up and Belair backflips away, setting up a release Glam Slam. A standing moonsault gives Belair two but Belair’s arm is banged up..

BREAKING: Bayley Returns At WWE Summerslam Along With Two Surprise Fan Favorites

Welcome back. The WWE Women’s Revolution took place just over seven years ago and it was one of the best things to have happened to the company. The women’s division has been around for a long time in WWE but it took a special group of women to make it matter. Those women are still around today and now another one of them is back after a rather long time away, but she didn’t come alone.
The opening match at this year’s Summerslam saw Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair successfully defend her title against Becky Lynch. Following the match, Bayley returned after missing over a year of action due to a torn ACL. Former NXT star Dakota Kai and former NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai joined Bayley in the ring and had a standoff with Belair and Lynch before leaving without anything physical taking place. Kai was released from WWE in April and Shirai has been out of action since NXT Stand & Deliver on April 1.
Opinion: Fans were thinking that things would be shaken up once the new regime took ..

NXT LVL Up Results – July 29, 2022

NXT LVL Up
Date: July 29, 2022
Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Sudu Shah, Nigel McGuinness
We’re fresh into the non-Vince McMahon era and that gives me a bit of hope that we might be in for something different around here. Then again those changes might not take place for a good while as WWE has more than enough to take care of with, you know, the company being all over the place. Maybe we can get a little something this week though. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Javier Bernal vs. Myles Borne They shake hands to start and it’s Borne taking him to the mat without much trouble. Borne does it again but grabs an armbar this time to mix it up a little. For some reason he lets it go so Bernal grabs a hammerlock, which is quickly tossed to the floor. Back in and Bernal goes with some shots to the face before grabbing a chinlock. Borne fights up and gets kicked in the face, setting up another chinlock. That’s broken up and Borne grabs a suplex, only t..

KB’s Review: Who Else Do They Have

As you might have heard, Summerslam is this coming Saturday and that means it is time for….well a bunch of stuff we have seen before. If there was a theme to this year’s show, it would be Summerslam: Rematch Edition, and that isn’t the most exciting way to go. There isn’t much on the card that has me inspired to see where things go, and that is rather disappointing. At the same time though, it is rather unsurprising and that is what we are going to look at this week.
Summerslam has eight matches on the card and the majority of the card is comprised of rematches. The show has two rematches from Money In The Bank (Usos vs. Street Profits, Bobby Lashley vs. Theory, and Ronda Rousey vs. Liv Morgan, though the latter has an asterisk due to the cash in), one from this week’s Monday Night Raw (Mysterios vs. Judgment Day) and two from WrestleMania 38 (Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns and Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair).
That’s at least half (or more) of the card is made up of matches that we hav..

Summerslam 2022 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

It’s one of the biggest shows of the year and that means it is time for a bunch of rematches, because that’s what Summerslam has become this year. Now that being said, we very well may be in for one of the biggest changes in WWE in a VERY long time as this will be the first major show under the new regime. That means we could be in for some surprises and I’m much more interested in what we are getting now that things have changed. Let’s get to it.
United States Title: Bobby Lashley(c) vs. Theory It’s a Money In The Bank rematch and the match has barely gotten any attention because Theory has Mr. Money In The Bank stuff to focus on instead. That hasn’t left much time for these two to do much, but at the same time, what kind of a story is there to tell with them? Theory seems destined to move up to the top level and Lashley is just one of the biggest stars on Monday Night Raw. It could be an interesting match, but that isn’t what WWE is doing here instead.
There is no reason to have ei..

WWE Tryouts Reportedly “A Disaster”, Major Changes Coming For Next Time

That’s not good developing. WWE is a massive wrestling company and has to do a lot of work to keep things moving. That is certainly easier said than done, but one of the best things that the company can do is keep the talent coming in to the promotion. There are multiple ways to do that, but WWE might be altering one of their primary means of bringing in new wrestlers.
WWE has been holding tryouts for new stars over the course of the week in Nashville, Tennessee. The tryouts have mainly included athletes from outside wrestling, which has been WWE’s main focus in recent times. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, this set of tryouts will be the last to focus on non-wrestlers, as there were several injuries due to the athletes not being experienced. The tryouts were reportedly described as a “disaster”. Therefore, the solution will be to bring in more independent wrestlers who are experienced in the ring.
Opinion: I can get WWE’s mentality here, as there is no reason for WWE to put i..

Catch Them Later? Vince McMahon’s Departure Shook Up Edge And Beth Phoenix Plans

Cancel that. We are less than a month removed from Vince McMahon leaving WWE and being officially gone from the company that he built into an empire. While that makes a huge difference on the business side of things, it is also going to make a huge difference in the television aspect. That seems to be the case when it comes to the status of some legendary names.
According to PWInsider.com, the original plan for this week’s Monday Night Raw as well as Summerslam called for WWE Hall of Famers Edge and Beth Phoenix to appear. However, neither appeared and there is no word on when they will be back. The change is reportedly due to McMahon’s retirement, as the plans were changed. It is not clear on what the original plans for the pair were going to be.
Opinion: While I’m sure Edge and Phoenix will be back, it is rather interesting that plans were changed for such big names at the last minute. It would be great to have them back for something with Judgment Day, but right now it seems that ..

AEW Rampage Results – July 29, 2022

Rampage
Date: July 29, 2022
Location: DCU Center, Worcester, Massachusetts
Commentators: Excalibur, Chris Jericho, Tony Schiavone, Jim Ross
It’s another night of Fight For The Fallen, which went very well on Wednesday so maybe they can keep it up here. You never know what that might mean but the more star power this show can have, the better it is going to be. I’m not sure what that is going to be this week, but Rampage can be quite fun. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Best Friends vs. Satnam Singh/Jay Lethal/Sonjay Dutt Dutt is still in his suit, complete with pencil behind his ear. Trent and Lethal start things off with Trent countering la majistral into a cradle for two. That means a standoff and the fans seem pleased. Cassidy comes in (under the bottom rope) and gets Dutt, who takes off his jacket and tie, which he hands to the referee. Jericho: “That’s a $5000 suit he’s wrestling in!” Ross: “You really believe that?” Jericho: “Well it’s wrestling.”
Cassidy puts his sunglass..

Interesting Note On Clauses Included In AEW Contracts

Just like the other guys. There are a lot of wrestling promotions in the world today but WWE and AEW get far more attention than anyone else. That is due to a variety of reasons, but their star power is very high up there. Both companies have stars that fans are going to want to see and it turns out that both of them have the same policy in order to keep those wrestlers around under certain circumstances.
WWE has a policy that the contracts of injured wrestlers are allowed to be extended in the case of injuries. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW wrestlers undergo the same situations if they are injured, as their contracts have the clause included. There is no word on if any of the currently or previously injured AEW stars have had their deals extended in this way.
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that might not be the nicest sounding thing in the world but it makes sense from the business side. It isn’t fair to AEW or WWE to sign a wrestler to a multi year deal an..

WATCH: WWE Pays A Very Cool Tribute To Rey Mysterio

I’d say he is worth it. There are certain wrestlers who stand above the rest of their peers. You know these wrestlers when you see them and they are the ones who become the top stars and eventually the legends of wrestling. It is rare enough to see someone become a legend in their own time but a WWE star has done just that. Now we are seeing WWE pay tribute to him.
Earlier this week, WWE celebrated the twenty year anniversary of Rey Mysterio making his debut with the company. Throughout the week, the company has presented a variety of tributes and looks back at Mysterio’s career. This includes a new video looking at the Top 20 Moments of Mysterio’s career, featuring various matches and championship wins over the last twenty years. Mysterio is scheduled to team with his son Dominik against Judgment Day in a No DQ match at Summerslam.
There could be a lot more. Check out the Top 20 Mysterio moments:

Catch You Later: WWE Star Attacked On SmackDown, May Miss Some Time

That could be some time off. There are a lot of very talented wrestlers in the world today and you will see a lot of them on WWE television. While there are some problems with the presentation at times, the wrestlers’ talent is certainly there and cannot be questioned in some cases. However, sometimes a wrestler will need to be out of action for one reason or another and that might be the case again.
This week’s SmackDown featured a tag team match between New Day and the Viking Raiders. After the Viking Raiders won, the team attacked Xavier Woods and crushed his ankle using a chair. While not confirmed, there is a chance that this means Woods will be missing time from the ring to recover. Woods is also currently co-hosting the Arena on G4, which regularly features WWE stars.
Opinion: I’m curious about what this means for Woods, as that is the kind of thing that is done to put him on the shelf for a long time. Maybe he is getting some time off for the sake of G4, but the SmackDown tag..
