NXT UK Date: November 25, 2021 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andy Shepherd Things might be picking up a bit this week as we have another title match. This time around, the Heritage Cup is on the line as Sam Gradwell is challenging new champion Noam Dar. Other than that, we are well on our way to next week’s NXT UK Title match between Ilja Dragunov and Rampage Brown. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Nia Jax May Never Wrestle Again, References Bad Reputation

That’s in a name. There are all kinds of iconic wrestling names and even more that fans are going to remember for a very long time. A good wrestling name tells you something about them and that can make for some rather interesting choices. It can be a big deal when a wrestler changes their name, but this time around it seems that people have put too much thought into something. Nia Jax was released from WWE earlier this year and has not wrestled since. Following her release, Jax changed her Twitter handle to Lina Fanene, her real name. This led to some speculation that it would be her new ring name, but Fanene made it clear that it was simply her real name. She went on to say that a better choice would be “Opponent Crippler” should she wrestle again, though she described it as “highly unlikely”. Lol! ? Newflash..Lina is my real name. More Details On WWE Egg Angle, WWE Made A LOT Of Money

What could have been. As a major company, WWE’s main underlying goal is to make money. That is the kind of thing that can be difficult in different situations but there are some opportunities that the company has which can be quite lucrative. That was on display last week, and now we know a bit more about why WWE went with one of the stories they chose. Vince McMahon appeared at Survivor Series, carrying a golden egg. Over the rest of the show and Monday Night Raw, McMahon would reveal that the egg was a gift from the Rock valued at $100 million. The angle was product placement from the Netflix film Red Notice, though according to Fightful Select, this was not the original plan. The earlier ideas would see much lower stakes, including the possibility of the 24/7 Title being the focus. Eventually McMahon was added to appease Netflix. WWE Stars Set Two New Official Guinness World Records

Double history has been made! I think it would be a heck of an understatement to say that it can be difficult to keep track of a lot of wrestling history. Between the less than honest nature of wrestling in general, the incredibly long and detailed history and how there is little in the way of structure, records can be a bit confusing. Now we have some officially confirmed wrestling records. Guinness World Records has officially confirmed two WWE records, both of which took place at Survivor Series. First, Randy Orton broke Kane’s record for the most WWE pay per view matches at 177. Second, Natalya set a record for the most pay per view matches by a woman in WWE history, though there was no word on who held the record before her. WWE acknowledged Orton’s record on last week’s edition of Monday Night Raw. It was a big night. Former WWE Star Lands Starring Role In Upcoming Action Film

He has a new job. To say WWE has been shaken up over the last year and a half would be a huge understatement. The company has released well over 100 wrestlers in less than two years and it has reshaped the company’s roster. However, it also brings up the question of what happens to all of the released wrestlers. Now we know what one of them will be doing, and it has nothing to do with wrestling. According to Fightful Select, former WWE star and NXT Champion Karrion Kross will be starring in an upcoming action film, which will begin production next year. There are currently no more details on the film, including where it will eventually be released. There is no word on what this will mean for Kross’ wrestling career. Kross has not wrestled since being released from WWE on November 4. Kross was a force in WWE. Main Event Set For WWE Day 1

One for 1. We are almost to December and that means it is time to get ready for the start of the new year. That means it is time to get ready to start the Road To WrestleMania 38. There are a few stops before we get there though and that could make for some interesting changes. Now we know what the biggest match should be at one of the few remaining pay per views before WrestleMania. The main event of Day 1 is scheduled to be Big E. defending his WWE Title against Seth Rollins. This week’s Monday Night Raw was headlined by Big E. facing Kevin Owens in a non-title match. Rollins interfered and attacked Owens to cause a disqualification, and as a result of the match’s stipulation, Owens is now added to the Day 1 title match. Day 1 is scheduled for January 1, 2022. Two Surprise Returns Take Place On Monday Night Raw, New Feud Set

Welcome back x two. A return is one of the best things that you are going to see in wrestling as it can be quite the surprise. You might not know that someone is going to be back and it can make for a heck of a moment. Some of these are absolutely fascinating and we got a double shot this week as not one but two surprise returns took place, even at the same time. This week’s Monday Night Raw featured the return of Edge, which had been announced in advance. Edge spoke about how many wrestlers he wanted to face but was interrupted by the returning Miz, with his wife Maryse. The two got into an argument, though no match was officially made. This was Miz’s first appearance since August as he has been taking part in the latest season of Dancing With The Stars. Maryse had most recently appeared in April on Monday Night Raw. Monday Night Raw Date: November 29, 2021 Location: UBS Arena, New York City, New York Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton We’re on the way to Day One, which hasn’t actually been mentioned on the show so far. As for this week, we have the return of Edge, who will probably set up his next match. Other than that, Big E. is facing Kevin Owens, as we are setting up what should be (at least) a triple threat title match at the pay per view. Let’s get to it. Sasha Banks Previously Asked For WWE Release

What could have been. Women’s wrestling has come a long way in the last few years, and while it has not been the only reason, the WWE Women’s Revolution has played a major role in the changes. This has been led by the Four Horsewomen and the group has stayed on top of the WWE women’s division for several years. However, it turns out that one of them wanted out. Back in 2019, Sasha Banks took a hiatus from WWE after WrestleMania 35 before she ultimately returned later in the year. Banks has opened up about the hiatus in a new interview with Ariel Helwani Meets, saying that she needed to take time away from wrestling to find herself. Her entire life had been about wrestling and she wanted to take some time away. Banks even asked Vince McMahon for her release from the company, but McMahon felt that she only needed time away, which she was granted. It’s a fascinating interview. LOOK: Wyatt Family Reunites Over The Weekend

Good to see you again. Stables can be a fascinating concept in wrestling because there are so many people put together all at once. It can make for a nice collection of talent being able to showcase themselves all at once, which opens up some doors. At the same time though, it can be quite the hit when a stable splits up. Not all splits are permanent though, and we saw a pretty cool reunion over the weekend. The WrestleCade convention took place over the weekend in North Carolina. Both Adam Scherr and Erick Redbeard, formerly known as Braun Strowman and Erick Rowan, were at the convention and posed together for a photo. It’s one of the great ones. There are certain rivalries in wrestling that have stood the test of time like few others. On rare occasions, you find a pair of wrestlers who can do some absolutely incredible things together. Those are the rivalries that fans tend to remember as well as anything else, which is what WWE is doing now, as they are looking at one of the best ever. WWE has released a new video, looking at the top ten best moments from the Rock vs. Steve Austin. The list includes matches and segments from throughout their feud, which ranged from 1997 until 2003. Rock and Austin were the first wrestlers to face each other three times at WrestleMania. The video is part of WWE’s celebration of the Rock debut at Survivor Series 1996, twenty five years ago. VIDEO: AEW Takes A Special Look At An Important Issue

It’s an important thing in and out of AEW. Wrestling has come a long way in the areas of taking care of its stars in recent years. A lot of this has come in the areas of taking care of wrestlers’ health, as there is little more important to cover. While most of the focus has been on the physical side, there is an entire other area to cover and now we are getting to hear about it from some current wrestlers. AEW has released a new video with various wrestlers and stars discussing the importance of mental health. The video features names such as Powerhouse Hobbs, Vickie Guerrero, Ryan Nemeth and others, all speaking about how much caring about their mental health has helped them in both their careers and their lives. WWE Might Not Be Interested In Signing MJF

Not so fast? The rise of AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works and several of the changes have been very positive. One of the most important things has been the fact that wrestlers now have another place to go. It means that wrestlers have been able to go somewhere else rather than just WWE. One day some of those AEW wrestlers are going to be free agents, but WWE might not be interested in one of their top stars. Earlier this month, AEW’s Maxwell Jacob Friedman mentioned that he will be a free agent in 2024 and promised to start a bidding war. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, there might not be a strong interest in Friedman from WWE, who have not seen him as a big deal. There is always a chance that WWE could up their offer, but at the moment, Friedman is expected to stay with AEW. Friedman has been a star in AEW. John Morrison Comments On Recent WWE Release

He has finally spoken. John Morrison has taken to Instagram to make his first public comments since being recently released by WWE 10 days ago. He was among eight superstars who were let go by the company. Been there, booked that. We are about to close out the year and that means that it is almost time to start up the Road To WrestleMania. That means WWE is going to be starting to set up their biggest feuds and stories of the year, which could culminate in some major events. WWE is already setting up one of its bigger matches going forward, albeit in a way we have seen before. This week’s edition of SmackDown saw Adam Pearce leaving Drew McIntyre out of a #1 contenders battle royal. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, this is part of a storyline of McIntyre being screwed over by WWE executives as Brock Lesnar is set to return next week. LOOK: Kevin Owens Might Want To Join The Bloodline

Call it a recruitment drive? There are all kinds of stables and groups in wrestling today and several of them have been quite successful. It can be interesting to see what they can do, especially when someone new joins the lineup. While it might not happen often, it can make for a heck of a moment. We have now seen quite the tease, though I don’t quite think it was official. Over the weekend, WWE ran a live event in Roanoke, Virginia. During the show, Damian Priest defended the United States Title in a four way match against Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins and Finn Balor. Owens wore a Bloodline shirt to the ring, though there is nothing to suggest that there is anything to it. There’s A Good Reason For Two WWE Stars’ Absences

So that’s where they are. With so many wrestlers around on the WWE roster, it can be difficult to figure out something for all of them to do. That is harder than it might seem, but you can also notice when someone isn’t around. Sometimes wrestlers have nothing to do and they might be given some time off as a result. It turns out that is the case with two current WWE stars. According to Fightful Select, both Kofi Kingston and Mustafa Ali are currently off television due to paternity leave. Both of them have recently announced the birth of their daughters and will be missing some time as a result. Kingston was written off of television due to a knee injury at the hands of the Bloodline.
