Tuesday was a good night for SmackDown Live. The blue brand’s August 8th show was the second most-watched program on cable on Tuesday night with its two hours averaging 2.584 million viewers. SmackDown Live lost the overall viewership to Fox News Channel’s Hannity, which snagged 2.669 million viewers. Viewership increased from the 2.569 million viewers that SmackDown garnered last week.
This week’s broadcast of SmackDown Live saw the “Grudge Match” between WWE Champion Jinder Mahal and Randy Orton, SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi vs. Carmella, Charlotte Flair vs. Lana, and the latest in Breezango’s backstage segments.
SmackDown Live did win the important 18-49 year-old viewership demographic. The show scored a 0.80 rating in that demo, an increase from last week’s 0.76 rating. SmackDown Live comfortably won against OWN’s Have and the Have Nots’ 0.62 rating and Bravo’s Below Deck Mediterranean’s 0.59 rating. Hannity may have won the overall viewership numbers but was 25th in the important 18-49 demo rating with 0.26. Apparently old people love Sean Hannity, who would have guessed?
As Top Rope Press reported, it was also a good Monday night for RAW. All three hours of RAW stayed above three million viewers, but unlike SmackDown Live, RAW lost the 18-49 demo rating to VH1’s Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood.
