Segment Announced for Tonight’s RAW
With just an hour away until RAW goes live, WWE announced that Kurt Angle will give an update on the condition of Braun Strowman on tonight’s show.
It was also announced that Angle will be congratulating Brock Lesnar for his victory over Samoa Joe at Sunday’s WWE Great Balls of Fire event.

Alberto Del Rio Under Investigation for Domestic Violence Incident
Former WWE Superstar & current GFW Champion Alberto Del Rio was detained by police in Orlando yesterday according to witnesses. PWInsider contacted the local police and was issued this statement:
“There was an incident at Orlando International Airport at about 3 p.m. Sunday involving Jose Rodriguez (DOB 5/25/1977) The reported incident was a domestic violence battery, and it is still under investigation. No arrests have been made as of this time, but the case remains open. That is all the information we have for release at this time.”
Additionally, TMZ reports that an eyewitness said that “there was an altercation” between El Patron and a female companion. While cops have not released the woman’s identity, a witness says Paige was at the airport with El Patron.
The Taz Show Recap – Great Balls Analysis, A.J. Styles Wins Gold, Reigns Attempts Murder, More!
Block 1:
Taz says he was shocked to hear that Austin Aries was released by WWE over the weekend. Aries is a great talker who takes great care of himself and is a terrific worker in the ring, so it’s too bad that things didn’t work out for him in WWE. He’s sure that Aries will apply his craft elsewhere in the very near future, such as Japan or in ROH.
He was also surprised to hear that A.J. Styles defeated Kevin Owens to claim the United States Title at the Madison Square Garden house show over the weekend. He likes that WWE did this, because it keeps fans guessing at live events. Switching a Title at a house show from time to time ensures fans that anything can happen at any WWE event. He’s sure that those two guys tore the house down in that match, and he’s happy for Styles.
Taz gets into his analysis of last night’s Great Balls of Fire PPV.
Taz was surprised to see Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt open the show last night. There’s nothing wrong with guys with star power opening the show like that, but Taz would have preferred if Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss opened the show. Nonetheless, Wyatt picked up a much needed win in what was a fine opening bout.
Reason WWE Stopped Using Pyros During Entrances
Many of you may have aware that there hasn’t been any pyros being used on WWE television lately. It was most noticeable at Sunday’s WWE Great Balls of Fire event when Brock Lesnar was making his signature entrance to the ring and no pyros went off and all you heard was Brock’s scream.
Dave Meltzer discussed the reason why pyros haven’t been being used on WWE programming lately during the Mailbag segment of today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer claims that WWE decided to stop using pyros as a cost-cutting measure. The company believes the pyros aren’t needed so they just stopped using them.
Dixie Carter Congratulates AJ Styles
After it was reported that former TNA President Dixie Carter will appear on WWE 24 – Kurt Angle: Homecoming this Monday night after RAW on the WWE Network, Carter offered her congratulations to TNA alumnus AJ Styles on winning the United States Championship from Kevin Owens Friday night at Madison Square Garden.
Carter tweeted the following in response to Matt Hardy congratulating Styles.

Huge Shift In Betting Odds Before Tonight’s Pay-Per-View
There was a huge shift in the betting odds for the WWE Women’s Championship prior to tonight’s Great Balls of Fire event.
Sasha Banks, who was a huge underdog this morning, is now a big favorite to win the bout. Sasha is sitting at a -3250 favorite to defeat Alexa, who is a +1350 underdog.
It should be pointed out that it doesn’t necessarily indicate that she’s winning the title, as she could always win by DQ or countout.

John Cena Says He Can’t Wait to Get Married to Nikki Bella
While speaking to The Courier Mail’s Confidential, John Cena discussed his engagement to Nikki Bella and getting married to her.
He stated, “They know exactly what you go through with training, diet and hard work. You don’t have to explain it or hope that they understand. I’m excited about getting married to my best friend. I can’t wait.”
