John Cena Announced for Upcoming RAW Event

Many of you are aware now that John Cena is being billed as a “free agent” and the company plans to have him work both RAW and SmackDown brand shows moving forward.

Cena has just been announced for the first RAW-brand event for July 15th at a WWE Live Event. Cena is scheduled to face Bray Wyatt on the card. It is possible that the company starts adding him to even more RAW and SmackDown events as he gets closer to his July 4th return to the company.

Ryback Criticizes Nia Jax’s Tweet About WWE Creative

On a recent episode of his podcast, Conversation with the Big Guy, Ryback let out his thoughts on Nia Jax’s controversial tweet about the WWE Creative. Jax had tweeted criticizing the red brand’s creative team by pointing out how RAW doesn’t use all it’s women wrestlers while its rival brand, SmackDown LIVE does.

The tweet was then quickly taken down by Jax herself as it was garnering a lot of attention and possibly made the creative look really bad.

Here are Ryback’s comments on the said issue : (quotes credit ewrestlingnews.com)

“Everybody is frustrated there, from top to bottom. She’s been handed a lot early on, in my opinion. It’s very early on to make a comment like that and when I saw that I totally understand it, like, if you are not on TV a couple of weeks is frustrating. With her character on TV, it’s not like they can just throw her in random. It could be a good TV that you’re not on TV every week. If you’re being booked for live events, who the f**k cares? You’re making money until they find something good for you, but when you go and make comments like that, there’s no good that comes out of that because it’s not like real sports where you control the outcome. It’s writers and Vince, they control your character and they can write her and job her out every week. She has to either go do it or not do it and get released, so she put herself in a real bad position by making comments like that on social media. It reminded me of that guy with Lord Tensai, Sakamoto. I remember there was Japanese heat for another Japanese guy coming on the roster, Yoshi had gone on social media and made a comment. If we were in UFC it’d be cool, you may have gotten yourself booked for a big fight and a big payday, but in pro-wrestling you can’t go on there and say that. A week later he got Jobbed out on RAW. That is what it reminded me of because no good ever comes out of it, but she’s young, so it is what it is.”

Possible Return for Tonight’s RAW Episode

We noted over the weekend that Emma returned to action at the WWE Live Event in Jackson, Mississippi Friday night. Emma teamed up with Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax to take on Mickie James, Sasha Banks and Dana Brooke. The match concluded with Emma submitting to the Bank Statement.

There is speculation that Emma may be returning to television very soon, as early as tonight’s episode of RAW. She is expected to be injected back into her storyline with Mickie James and Dana Brooke.

Title Match Announced for Monday’s RAW

WWE announced that Sheamus and Cesaro will defend their RAW tag team championships against The Hardy Boyz on Monday’s episode of RAW. WWE wrote the following regarding the match:

Just one week after losing the Raw Tag Team Championship in a brutal Steel Cage Match at WWE Extreme Rules, The Hardy Boyz invoke their rematch clause against new titleholders Cesaro & Sheamus this Monday night, live on Raw.

Last Monday, The Celtic Warrior boasted that Matt & Jeff were “sitting at home, licking their wounds — Jeff gluing in his false tooth — just dreaming about their rematch.” This Monday night, the dream becomes a reality much sooner than the champions likely anticipated.

Can The Hardy Boyz reclaim the titles they won during their triumphant return at WrestleMania, or will Cesaro & Sheamus continue to raise the figurative bar in Team Red’s tandem division?

Brock Lesnar has also been announced to return to the show to address Samoa Joe’s attack on Paul Heyman.

Brock Lesnar to Appear for Every RAW Heading Into Great Balls of Fire

Brock Lesnar will be appearing at every RAW show from now until the Great Balls of Fire event to help build for his feud against Samoa Joe. Those dates include the June 12th RAW in Lafayette, LA, June 26th RAW in Los Angeles, and the July 3rd RAW in Phoenix. He is also confirmed for the show after the Great Balls of Fire event in Houston.

It’s unclear if he will actually be participating in any matches on these shows or appearing on television for that matter. In the past he would be advertised for the event, but sometimes not appear on television. He would often work the dark match main event instead. Let’s hope that isn’t the case this time around.

Reason Why The Hardy Boyz Didn’t Appear on RAW

Many of you may have noticed the absent of The Hardy Boyz on this week’s episode of RAW. For those wondering, Matt and Jeff Hardy had the day off and that’s the reason they were not on RAW. Matt’s wife Reby Sky is due to give birth very soon, so that’s why Matt is home.

Huge Return Announced for RAW Next Week

WWE announced on tonight’s episode of RAW that Brock Lesnar will be returning to RAW next week. He is expected to confront Samoa Joe in some fashion for attack Paul Heyman on tonight’s show.

No other matches or segments have been announced for next week’s show, but we will keep you updated.

Dinner with the King Recap – ‘This is Your Life’ Reaction, Invading the ECW Arena, Hatred from Fans, More!

Lawler opens today’s show speaking about the ‘This is Your Life’ segment featuring Alexa Bliss and Bayley on this week’s episode of RAW. He says that WWE probably wishes they had another opportunity to re-write this or scrap it altogether, because it certainly didn’t go as planned.

He says that you have to give WWE creative a break from time to time because they’re producing 5 hours of live television every single week of the year, and not everything is going to be must-see television. It’s impossible to write the best segment of all time every single show, so he has no issue cutting WWE some slack on this segment.

Moore says he’s not buying that, and he feels that somewhere along the way someone should have pulled this segment from the show. It was very difficult to watch and it probably should have been scrapped during rehearsals. Lawler says that he’s worked on RAW and Smackdown for many years and he has seen a lot of stuff that was hard to watch. Sometimes things just don’t turn out the way you hope.

Lawler also points out that this was live television, and anything can happen on live television. Vince McMahon and the company’s philosophy is that nothing can go wrong on live television, because whatever happens happens.
