Kurt Angle to Start Wrestling for WWE Sooner Than Expected?

It’s being speculated that WWE might end up booking Angle into a match sooner than previously expected.

Angle revealed earlier this week that he had not been tested by the WWE for in-ring participation yet. With SummerSlam around the corner WWE might end up using Angle to boost up their ratings and provide a spectacular main event for the biggest party of the Summer. Also, rumors of Angle’s current storyline setting up his feud with Triple H did go viral a few weeks ago so there might be some relevance to them.

While speaking to Esquire Middle East, Angle talked about the chances that he will compete in a WWE ring again.

“Well right now I’m just concentrating on my behind-the-scenes role as General Manager. I haven’t even had a physical yet and I don’t expect I will have one until they [the WWE] have some more detail of what they want me to do down the line. But is there a possibility? Yeah, there is a definite possibility! I think it’s more than likely it will happen. I don’t know if it has to do with this new story line that’s going on right now, but I’m sure that it will happen eventually. I still haven’t taken a physical though so I’m not going to get my hopes up until I do that.”

“My main aim would just be to contribute and wrestle some of the younger guys. There’s a lot of great talent right now and I’d love to be able to mix it up with them. I would also imagine that, being who I am, I’d get a pretty high profile match at Wrestlemania if I did wrestle again. And yeah, I think everybody wants a title-run. I’m 48 years old – I’m still in great shape, I can still go pretty hard in the ring, but then again there are other talents out there that need the title more than I do. Don’t get me wrong it would be a lot of fun if I did get a title run, but at the same time as long as I’m contributing and helping out the company I’d be happy with that.”

WWE Monday Night Raw Results – July 3 2017

Welcome to the final edition of Monday Night Raw before Sunday’s Great Balls of Fire PPV!

Tonight’s show is anchored by the return of Brock Lesnar, who will defend his Universal Championship for the first time since WrestleMania on Sunday. Lesnar has had to sit back and watch as Samoa Joe took centre stage for this feud and even attacked his advocate Paul Heyman. So Lesnar decided to pay Joe a visit and was promptly choked down by the Samoan Bulldozer! One week from the huge showdown, Lesnar will definitely want to regain some momentum, meanwhile Samoa Joe is on the roll of a lifetime and fans are hungry for more!

Speaking of being hungry and never satisfied, Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns will also have a gargantuan showdown at Great Balls of Fire – which ironically might be the best card for a terribly named PPV ever. The two big canines will fight for ownership of the back yard in an Ambulance Match and I would be shocked if we didn’t see said ambulance come into play one more time this week, seeing as Braun threw Roman into it last week and sent him packing. Fans will hope to see more of the same this week.

Last week’s main event saw Sasha Banks defeat the seemingly unstoppable Nia Jax, who had already bested Emma, Mickie James, Dana Brooke, and Bayley, in a Gauntlet Match to become number one contender. Banks’ win was pretty surprising but sets-up an exciting showdown at Great Balls of Fire. The Champion Alexa Bliss came to the ring after the match and shoved her title in Banks’ face but was promptly met with a dropkick to her own dentures! Expect more fireworks tonight ahead of the 4th of July!

Elsewhere on tonight’s show, Enzo Amore was ceremoniously dumped by Big Cass for the second week in a row and it seems inevitable that these two will have a showdown on Sunday night. The match hasn’t yet been announced but surely tonight is the night. And then there’s Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt who’ve done more talking in the past three weeks than Undertaker did in over 30 years, so hopefully we get something more substantial tonight.

All that and more to look forward to on tonight’s show. Don’t forget to check out the Ringside News app, as well as our new Ringside Talk app, which allows you to converse with all your fellow marks! Let us know your thoughts and feelings and enjoy the show!

Speculation on Nakamura vs. AJ Styles at SummerSlam

After their teased angle during the Money in the Bank ladder match a couple weeks back, it’s being speculated that Nakamura will face AJ Styles at this year’s SummerSlam event. Bryan Alvarez discussed the possibilities of this match taking place when a listener called in asking about it going down.

Alvarez said, “I think that is the match. I would say with some degree of confidence that you’re gonna see Styles and Nakamura against each other at SummerSlam. That was the whole idea behind the tease they did at the Money In The Bank show.”

Other matches rumored for the event include Cena vs. Jinder Mahal and Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns. We will keep you updated if we hear of any other matches that are expected to be added to the card.

Chris Jericho Says Recent WWE Run Was A “Last Hurrah”

WWE.com spoke with Chris Jericho about his 50th trip to Japan and mentioned that it feels like a “second home” for him whenever he comes back. Jericho said he’s been going to Japan since the age of 19.

What was most notable about the interview was when Jericho started talking about what’s next for him. Jericho indicated that this trip to Japan was his “last hurrah” for his run with the WWE for the time being. He said he wanted to go out on a high note and is now ready to work on more on his music.

PWInsider reports that the company held a big farewell party for Saint this week at the Center to bid him a proper farewell after he completed a scheduled six month run as a Coach to WWE NXT talents.

Saint began coaching for WWE earlier this year after making an appearance as a guest coach in March 2016.

Alberto El Patron Says He’s Going to Retire with Impact Wrestling

While speaking to The Mirror to promote Sunday’s Slammiversary event, Alberto El Patron told the publication that he was very happy with his stay in Impact Wrestling and revealed that he plans to retire with the promotion.

“It was time for Alberto to find a new place, a place to make him love and enjoy wrestling again and IMPACT needed another big star, another big name, and now with the new people in charge, they were able to give me the right offer.

At that point, I joined the company and that is why I am so happy right now. I am going to retire in IMPACT Wrestling because I am just so happy.”

Bobby Roode Wants John Cena at WrestleMania

While speaking to Card Subject to Change, Bobby Roode revealed that he would like to face John Cena at WrestleMania. Roode made the following remarks when asked ho he would love to face in the ring, dead or alive:

“One of the main reasons that I got into the business was I’m a huge fan of Curt Hennig, Mr. Perfect. I have like 12 hours of Curt Hennig footage that I watch all the time. So if there’s probably one guy that I would have loved to have just met it would have been Curt Hennig. And if you’re talking about potential matches that I would love to have, that’d probably be John Cena at Wrestlemania.”

X-Pac 1, 2, 360 Recap – The Ball’s Appearance on RAW, Joe vs. Lesnar, X-Pac Almost Stars on GLOW? More!

X-Pac opens today’s show speaking about Cody Rhodes’ recent ROH World Title victory. He says that he’s very proud of Rhodes, who took a huge risk and left the safe surroundings of WWE in order to bet on himself. It’s safe to say that Rhodes’ bet is paying off right now. X-Pac says that he heard a lot of friends criticize Rhodes’ decision, some even calling him a mark for doing this, but X-Pac was happy to see Rhodes follow his heart.

X-Pac mentions that he was lucky enough to be backstage at RAW this week in Los Angeles, where a lot of interesting things were happening. He was able to sit and talk with guest star Josh Duhamel for a while, and he was able to experience the backstage reaction during the MizTV segment featuring LaVar Ball and his two sons.

He says that WWE should have known that this was going to be a disaster and they very well might have, but they obviously didn’t care. He says that LaVar Ball went off script nearly right from the start and was jumping all over everyone else’s lines. In spite of all that, and even after the youngest son used derogatory language, McMahon was still urging cameramen to follow them to the backstage area and through Gorilla, because he didn’t want the cameras to miss anything good.

Tyson Kidd to Receive Non-Wrestling Gig with WWE

Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that Tyson Kidd will be moved into a non-wrestling role with WWE.

According to the report, it’s too early to determine if the role will be a backstage one such as a producer or an on-air personality. Kidd has been out of action since suffering a career-ending injury during a match against Samoa Joe back in 2015.

Speaking of Kidd, he is also set to return to Total Divas next season after sitting out the previous one.

The Taz Show Recap – LaVar Ball Invades RAW, Enzo & Big Cass Swerve, How to Hold A Title, More!

Block 1:

Taz opens today’s show speaking about the MizTV segment from last night’s RAW, which featured guest stars LaVar Ball and his two sons. LaVar Ball is a lightning rod in the sporting world right now, and WWE knew that they’d garner the attention of the mainstream sporting media if they had him make a guest appearance on RAW.

Taz says he’s sure that Vince McMahon knew this was going to be horrible, but he was definitely laughing his ass off in the Gorilla position. The positives outweighed the negatives in this situation, and that’s why McMahon loves to do these things from time to time. Regardless of all this, Taz was incredibly annoyed by Ball’s antics and wanted to jump through his television to beat him up.

He adds that he feels very sorry for Lonzo Ball, son of LaVar, who was recently drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers. His father’s heat resulted in him actually getting booed by the WWE audience in his hometown of Los Angeles, and he now has a huge target on his back as he enters his rookie season in the NBA.

Rumored Stipulation Confirmed for WWE Battleground

PWInsider has confirmed speculation that WWE is planning on bringing back the Punjabi Prison match for the upcoming WWE Battleground pay-per-view event.

PWI claims that their sources have informed them that the match will indeed taking place on the card. The match is expected to see Jinder Mahal defend his WWE Title against Randy Orton. This will be the 3rd Punjabi Prison match in WWE history.
