Update on Nikki & Brie Garcia’s Wrestling Future

It came from the source. It had been previously reported that the Bella Twins were officially leaving WWE for good and had rebranded themselves as Nikki and Brie Garcia. One of the main questions that has risen is the wrestling future, particularly when it comes to AEW. That question was answered today on Instagram Live, where Nikki confirmed that her and her sister would not be going to AEW. That’s a plan. There are all kinds of wrestlers on the WWE roster and it can be difficult to find something for all of them to do. One of the most effective ways to present someone can be to put them together into a big stable so wrestlers can get their own television time together. Now it seems that WWE is interested in putting together a bunch of people under quite the monster leader. Last weekend at Extreme Rules, Bray Wyatt returned to the company after a year plus absence. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Wyatt is expected to lead a stable called the Wyatt 6, a term he trademarked earlier in the year. Not so fast? While anyone who can make it to WWE television has at leas some talent, there has to be something that makes them stand out. It might be anything from their size to their look to the way they are presented, but something needs to be there. Occasionally you will see someone appear and have what makes them work best taken away, but this time it seems to have been returned. This week’s SmackDown featured a segment from Maximum Male Models, featuring Max Dupri. During his appearance, Dupri’s tone was changed from previous weeks, with more of a serious sound to his voice and less talking. This comes a week after Dupri was missing from the team’s segment, with his sister Maxxine taking his place. Max’s role in the angle reportedly did not go over well with Vince McMahon, who wanted him to sound as little like his LA Knight character from NXT as possible. He’s Out: WWE Star Dropped From Storyline And Already Replaced

I guess he didn’t fit? There are a lot of storylines in wrestling and some of them have to include some very specific wrestlers. Some of the stories are just not going to work with the wrong people in there and sometimes you have to make the right kind of adjustments. That seems to be the case again in WWE, as someone has been moved out of a story that was built around him in the first place. According to Pro Wrestling Torch, Max Dupri is done with the Maximum Male Models stable, with his sister Maxxine Dupri taking his place as of this week’s SmackDown. Max was said to not be fitting in and “rubbing some people the wrong way”. There is no word on what is next for Max in WWE. According to Fightful Select, Vince McMahon had the idea for the character and wanted Max to be nothing like LA Knight from NXT. Welcome to the team. With WWE being as competitive as it is, there is only so much that can be done to make yourself stand out. At some point, a wrestler has to do something that gives you a reason for WWE to believe in them enough to give them a new role. That seems to be the case again, as an NXT star has been moved up to the main roster as someone completely new. This week on SmackDown, NXT’s Sofia Cromwell made her main roster debut as Maxxine Dupri, the sister of Max Dupri. Maxxine promised that Maximum Male Models would debut their swimwear collection next week, though that had originally been announced for this week. Maxxine had appeared as Cromwell in NXT as part of the Robert Stone Brand for the last few months, though she has yet to wrestle a match on television. Over the last few weeks, Max Dupri has begun establishing himself on SmackDown. This includes introducing his Maximum Male Models group, formerly known as Mace and Mustafa Ali. The two have also modeled various clothing, including the tennis collection. What could have been. There are a lot of different ways to introduce a new wrestler and one of the best is to have them be related to an established star. Fans are often going to react to the idea that they are seeing the relative of someone they know. It has worked over the years and it was considered in WWE, with a pairing that you might not have imagined before. WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix revealed on Twitter that she pitched an idea to Michael Hayes about being presented as the sister of Brock Lesnar. This was during an event where Phoenix was an extra on WWE television and not yet signed to the company. The idea did not go through, and Phoenix was eventually signed to a developmental deal with WWE in 2004, the same year Lesnar left the company. Lesnar and Phoenix never interacted together on WWE TV and were never mentioned together. During his promo, Friedman talked to a pregnant woman in the crowd, who revealed herself to be Brian Pillman Jr.’s sister. Pillman Jr. eventually came down to face off with Friedman to end the segment. The following day, Pillman Jr. revealed that his sister began having contractions due to the promo and will be giving birth later this week. “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton Passes Away At Age 62

We have some sad news to report this morning as professional wrestling legend “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton has passed away at the age of 62. The news was confirmed by his sister, Debbie Lewis, via Facebook. From WrestlingInc.com: Eaton was hospitalized in late July after suffering a bad fall. He reportedly broke several fingers and damaged his hip during the fall. It’s unknown if his passing is related to the earlier accident. Eaton was best known for his work as one half of The Midnight Express. Under the management of Jim Cornette, he originally teamed with Dennis Condrey and, later on, with Stan Lane. A pioneer in the art of tag team wrestling, he also tagged with the likes of Arn Anderson, Koko B. Ware, Steve Keirn, and William Regal. Eaton wrestled for extended periods of time for various promotions such as Mid-America Wrestling, Continental Wrestling Association, Mid-South Wrestling, WCCW, Jim Crockett Promotions, WCW, and Smoky Mountain Wrestling. How Bray Wyatt’s Puppets Almost Wrestled In WWE

What could have been. There are certain characters in wrestling who are about as unique as you can get. No one else can play them and no one else would be able to do it either. That is the kind of special status that you do not get to see very often but it is rather special when it works. WWE has that at the moment, but it was almost taken in a rather different direction. In a new interview with Metro.uk, Mike Bennett, formerly known as Mike Kanellis in WWE, revealed that was scheduled to portray Sister Abigail as part of a new Bray Wyatt faction. Bennett says that Vince McMahon wanted Wyatt to lead a faction again, this time with Wyatt’s Firefly Funhouse puppets being portrayed by wrestlers. While Bennett would have been Abigail, Eric Young would have been Mercy the Buzzard. This never came to fruition and Bennett was released from WWE on April 15, 2020. This could have been a mess. That’s how you end a night. There are a lot of wrestlers on the WWE roster and that means it can be difficult to get them all on television in a given week. Even though there are several television shows and rosters available, there are only so many spots to put all of the wrestlers in. Sometimes WWE can add in a few extra spots before or after a show and that is what they did with two of their biggest names this week. There are very few names in WWE more popular than Daniel Bryan. Over the years, he has built up a reputation as one of the most talented in-ring performers of all time while also coming off like a person you could get to know in the real world. Well Hello Again. Former World Champion Returns At Starrcade.

Sometimes you get a surprise. This weekend, WWE presented Starrcade as a special house show. The event certainly has some history to it, even in WWE as it was held last year as well. The card was stacked and featured two steel cage matches and a special appearance from Ric Flair. However, in addition to the big card, there was a special surprise for the fans in attendance. Bray Wyatt made his return at Starrcade, answering an open challenge from Baron Corbin and defeating him with a rollup. After the pin, Corbin restarted the match with no disqualifications. This brought out Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre to beat Wyatt down but Elias and Finn Balor made the save, allowing Wyatt to pick up the win with Sister Abigail. This was Wyatt’s first match since September 15 on Monday Night Raw. There is no word on when Wyatt will return to TV. How about a fresh one of these? Sometimes it just clicks. Earlier this year, Andrade Cien Almas and Zelina Vega were called up to the main roster after a very successful run in NXT. The two instantly clicked and have become a big time deal on SmackDown Live. They work very well together and know how to compliment each others’ talents very well. Jim Neidhart Passes Away At 63

Anvil smash. When I was growing up, the Hart Foundation was one of the coolest tag teams around. They made pink and black look awesome with a combination of speed and technical skills from Bret Hart to go with the raw power of Jim Neidhart. There were few teams better and that status has stood the test of time. Now though, something has happened to make their legacy all the stronger. WWE.com has confirmed that Neidhart passed away at the age of 63 with no cause of death announced. Neidhart was best known for his team with Hart, both as the regular Hart Foundation tag team and later as part of the Hart Foundation stable. He and Hart were actual family as Neidhart married Hart’s sister Ellie. The couple’s daughter Natalya has wrestled for WWE for ten years. His own chance to shine. Sami Zayn conducted the most controversial segment on Raw this past week, as he interviewed the ‘sisters’ of Bobby Lashley. We have determined who played two of the three competitors. The segment on Raw featured Zayn running down the three men dressed as the sisters of Lashley. He had them explain what Lashley is like behind closed doors. While the segment wasn’t well-received, it was one of the most talked about moments of the show. The first ‘sister’ to be confirmed was “Frances.” This character was played by Create A Pro Wrestling Academy’s Max Caster. This is the academy owned by Curt Hawkins. Additionally, Caster is a regular performer on YouTuber GrimsToyShow’s content. He works on the GTS Wrestling show, for those fans out there.
