Pro Wrestling News On Third Anniversary Of His Passing, Bray Wyatt’s Sister Shares Emotional Tribute

Generating quite a buzz in the wrestling world, Mika Rotunda shared an emotional tribute to her brother, the late Bray Wyatt, on the third anniversary of his passing.

Wyatt, whose real name was Windham Rotunda, passed away on August 24, 2023, at just 36 years veteran. Three years later, Mika used Instagram to share thoughts to reflect on the pain associated with the anniversary and how deeply she continues to miss her brother.

Mika shared a photo carrying the message, “If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever,” before opening up about what August 24 has come to represent for her family. “August 24th will always plague as the worst nightmare, come to reality.”

She reflected on the contrast between the dark and unsettling characters Wyatt portrayed throughout his wrestling career and the person she knew away from the spotlight. “Which is ironic, because Windham lived to play a villain that would creep into the night. Yet he was the furthest thing from — he was an angel on this Earth.”

Mika then described waking in the early hours of the anniversary and briefly wishing she could find herself in a reality where her brother’s death had never happened. “4:45am, my eyes pried wide. My brain began reaching for a day where it wasn’t real. Where today didn’t mark three years since I heard his voice, or hugged his neck or told him to come over for dinner.”

She concluded the tribute by expressing how strongly Windham’s absence continues to be felt three years later. “Yet, as of today is three years.. Meanwhile, 🪽” And I miss him more than ever.

Wyatt became one of the most distinctive creative forces of his WWE generation, developing characters and concepts that left a lasting impact on wrestling viewers around the world.

For Mika, despite this, the anniversary is about Windham Rotunda rather than the larger-than-life characters he portrayed on television — a beloved brother she remembers as “an angel on this Earth.”
