A Big One: WWE Star Reveals Recent Neck Fusion Surgery

LOOK: WWE Drops Hint At 46 Year Old Former Champion’s Possible Return

Call it a hint? WWE stars are forced to move around a lot as there are only so many places to put them at any given time. Occasionally they are forced to leave for reasons against their will, such as getting hurt. Unfortunately there is no way around something like this and the question becomes how long it will be before they are able to come back. WWE may have dropped a hint about one such upcoming return. WWE has released a new photo gallery featuring images of wrestlers supporting their nations teams for the FIFA World Cup. One such photo includes Bobby Roode representing his native Canada. Roode also had a SmackDown logo behind his picture, indicating that he is still part of the SmackDown roster. Roode has not wrestled since June 25 and underwent surgery in September. There is no word on when he will be returning to the ring. IMG Credit: WWE Roode is a star when he is able to be in the ring. Update On Bobby Roode’s Injury Status, Possible WWE Plans

They might have a plan. With so many wrestlers on the WWE main roster, it can be difficult to keep track of everyone. WWE has enough wrestlers to put them into different distinct rosters. The wrestlers will occasionally move from one roster to another, with some changes coming when someone is coming back from an extended break. That is likely going to be the situation sooner than later. According to PWInsider.com, Bobby Roode was seen in Birmingham, Alabama earlier this week. Birmingham is the location where injured wrestlers go for medical treatment to recover from injuries, including Roode, who underwent surgery in Birmingham a few weeks ago. WWE is hoping that Roode will be back soon and there has been discussion about putting him on SmackDown. Roode has been out of action since late June. Opinion: This is long overdue as Roode has been gone for quite a long time, but there is only so much that can be done if he is injured. The good thing is that it seems like he is on his way bac..

Robert Roode Undergoes Medical Procedure In Birmingham, Alabama

That’s a valid reason. With so many wrestlers on the WWE roster, it can be easy to lose track of some of them. When someone goes away, you might miss them at first but then they have been gone so long that they are forgotten altogether. That is the situation with a current WWE star who has been missing for a good while but now we might know where he has been. WWE’s Robert Roode has revealed on Instagram that he underwent a medical procedure in Birmingham, Alabama this week. There is no word on what kind of procedure it was or how severe Roode’s condition was prior to the procedure. Roode has not wrestled since a live event on June 25 and there is no word on when he will be returning to the ring following his procedure. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Robert Roode (@realrobertroode) Opinion: That does explain a few things, as Roode has not been around for a rather long time now. It was weird not seeing him around whatsoever and hopefully he can be back in the ring sooner..

WATCH: Former Champion Makes Surprise Return With Previous Gimmick

Welcome back? Wrestling is interesting in a lot of ways, as you will see a wrestler appear in different characters and gimmicks over the years. Every now and then you will see them revert to some of their own characters, which can make for more than a few interesting options. It can be interesting to see how the wrestler goes when things change and now that might be the case again. Over the weekend, Robert Roode returned to the ring for his first match in two months. Roode wrestled as a singles star with no mention or reference of his regular tag team partner Dolph Ziggler. In addition, Roode came to the ring to his Glorious theme song, which he has not been using during his appearances. There is no word on if this will be used on television going forward. This is quite nice to hear again. Check out Roode’s entrance over the weekend: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Roode’s theme song is one of the best things about him and it is great to see him getting to use it..

Update On Monday Night Raw Stars Heading To NXT

You’ll be seeing more of them. The WWE roster has been shaken up in a big way in the last year and a half, as WWE has released all kinds of names from the company. That does not leave a lot of room for movement, but WWE still has enough wrestlers to do a few things. A lot of their remaining moves involve NXT and you might be seeing more of those taking place going forward. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE wants to have a Monday Night Raw star appear on NXT every week. The idea will be to build up the appearance on Monday Night Raw, with the idea to help build up NXT. Monday Night Raw’s Dolph Ziggler is the reigning NXT Champion and names such as Robert Roode, the Miz and the Mysterios appeared on this week’s show. There is no word on who else might be making appearances. Opinion: The more I think about this idea, the more I like it, as WWE has enough wrestlers with little to do on Monday Night Raw that it makes sense to have them pop up in NXT for a little while. Let them s..

Five Monday Night Raw Stars Appear On This Week’s NXT

Enjoy your stay. With WWE having so many talented wrestlers on its roster, it can be difficult to give them all something to do. In some cases it is rather easy as the bigger stars will always be busy, but there are several names who might have issues getting a storyline going. That is where the size of WWE can be helpful, as they have another place to send some of those wrestlers, which was on display this week. There were five guest stars from Monday Night Raw this week on NXT. The main event of this week’s show saw NXT Champion Dolph Ziggler, with Robert Roode in his corner, successfully defend his title against Robert Roode. This match was set up by the Miz on a special edition of MizTV. Also on the show, the Mysterios ran into Legado del Fantasma in the back, setting up a Dominik Mysterio victory over Joaquin Wilde. There is nothing to suggest that anyone but Roode or Ziggler will be regulars of any kind on NXT going forward. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that can make NXT ..

NXT Results – March 15, 2022

NXT Date: March 15, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness We have just over two weeks to go before Stand & Deliver and the big story coming out of last week’s show was Dolph Ziggler winning the NXT Title from Bron Breakker by pinning Tommaso Ciampa in a triple threat. That should be setting up the rematch at Stand & Deliver with Ciampa left out so let’s get to it. We open with a look at Dolph Ziggler winning the NXT Title last week. Here is the special guest star the Miz for MizTV. The fans seem happy to see Miz, who hypes up his Wrestlemania match. With that out of the way, here is Dolph Ziggler, with Robert Roode, as this week’s guest. Ziggler is rather happy to be champion and we see a clip of Bron Breakker not being allowed into the building earlier. Roode and Ziggler brag about how much money they have but here is LA Knight to interrupt. If Breakker can’t come in and challenge him tonight, he’ll be the one challeng..

Here’s The Odd Advice Bron Breakker Was Given At Monday Night Raw

Good advice? NXT is a rather unique wrestling promotion as it has to be its own show while also serving as WWE’s developmental territory. As a result, it needs to develop wrestlers and get them ready to go to the main roster, which can be easier said than done. One major NXT star made his main roster debut this week though and he seemed to get some unique advice. Former NXT Champion Bron Breakker made his Monday Night Raw debut on this week’s show, teaming with Tommaso Ciampa to defeat Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode in a tag match. Breakker appeared on the One-On-One podcast after the show and discussed his appearance. He mentioned that several wrestlers gave him advice, with the advice that stood out the most being that he needed to smile more. There is no word on when Breakker will return to Monday Night Raw. This was an interesting interview. Check out the full video: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is one of those things that WWE does that doesn’t make ..

NXT Results – March 1, 2022

NXT Date: March 1, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Vic Joseph, Wade Barrett We are about a month away from Stand & Deliver, which could stand to deliver some of its card this week. You can all but guarantee Bron Breakker defending the NXT Title against Dolph Ziggler, but they are going to need something a little bit better than that. Those two are in a tag match this week so let’s get to it. Bron Breakker/Tommaso Ciampa vs. Dolph Ziggler/Robert Roode Ciampa is in a Breakker style singlet here, which commentary calls Steiner-esque. Roode also comes out to the GLORIOUS theme for a flashback. It’s a brawl in the aisle to start with Ciampa hitting a big slingshot corkscrew dive to take out both of them in the floor. We settle down for the opening bell with Ciampa working on Ziggler and handing it off to Breakker, who gets dropped by Roode’s neckbreaker. Ziggler grabs a chinlock but Breakker fights up and hands it off to Ciampa to clean house. A do..

Former NXT Champion Makes Surprise Return

Welcome back. NXT has been on one of the biggest rollercoasters in recent wrestling history and those changes continue to change. Several names have come and gone, with several of them making their NXT debuts. The roster looks nothing like it did back in its glory days, but there are still a few familiar names here and there. Now another one has made a surprise return to the show. The main event of this week’s edition of NXT featured Dolph Ziggler vs. Tommaso Ciampa in a match to crown the new #1 contender to the NXT Title. Late in the match, Ziggler was down with the referee checking on him, allowing a cameraman to hit Ciampa with his camera. After the match, the cameraman revealed himself as Ziggler’s partner and former NXT Champion Robert Roode. Ziggler and Roode then attacked Ciampa, leading to NXT Champion Bron Breakker making the save. A tag team match was then made for next week’s show. It was a great match. Check out how the main event went down: [This post contains video, c..

Surprise Cameo And Return Take Place On Monday Night Raw

Welcome back and hello. WWE has so many wrestlers under contract that it has managed to split its roster into several groups. The main three are Monday Night Raw, SmackDown and NXT, each with its own main group of wrestlers. You will see some crossover between Monday Night Raw and SmackDown, but a one off appearance is rare. This time though, we might have seen just that, plus a surprise return. This week on Monday Night Raw, NXT’s Tommaso Ciampa wrestled in a tag match, teaming with the returning Finn Balor to defeat Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler. Ciampa is currently scheduled to face Ziggler in an NXT Title #1 contenders match this week on NXT. The match was Balor’s first since the January 17 Monday Night Raw, when he was defeated and attacked by Austin Theory. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that can make for a cool moment, as seeing an NXT star on one of the major TV shows is a rare sight. It helps that it wasn’t some major tweak to Ciampa, but rather just the NXT version of ..

VIDEO: NXT Star Makes Surprise Monday Night Raw Appearance

Sounds like a future to me. WWE has a huge roster, but unfortunately it is nowhere near as big of a lineup as it used to be. That is the kind of change that can make things all the more confusing and difficult for the regular television shows, but WWE has to figure something out after all of the changes. In theory that might mean some NXT stars moving up to the main roster, and now we might be seeing that happen, at least in the short term. Last week’s edition of NXT saw Dolph Ziggler make a surprise appearance on the show. Ziggler seemed to insert himself into the NXT Title picture but former NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa disagreed and got in a fight with Ziggler. Ciampa appeared on this week’s Monday Night Raw, doing commentary during a tag match between Ziggler and Robert Roode against the Street Profits. The match ended when Ciampa threw water on Ziggler, allowing the Street Profits to get the pin. Following the match, Ziggler took Ciampa out with a superkick. There is no word on a ..

More Backstage Frustration Over WWE Royal Rumble Match

Not everyone is happy. The Royal Rumble has come and gone, meaning that we are on the Road To WrestleMania. That means things are about to get all the more interesting in the coming weeks, but there was also some work put in to get things ready for the Royal Rumble as well. Now some wrestlers are not happy with what happened at the show following the buildup. According to Fightful Select, there has been some frustration backstage over the men’s Royal Rumble as some of the wrestlers who were involved in the build did not recent any focus in the match itself. This includes the Mysterios, Dolph Ziggler/Robert Roode and the Street Profits, who had been in a three way feud to help hype the Royal Rumble. The six if them did not have any significant interaction during the match, with only the Mysterios eliminating anyone (with one elimination each). Opinion: This is the latest complaint that has come up about the match, which did not seem to have gone very well, either for the fans or a lot..

WATCH: Possible Seeds Planted For Monday Night Raw Debut

That’s how you start. There are a lot of wrestlers on the WWE roster and some of them are part of the company’s official developmental system in NXT. That can make for some unique situations, as there are some wrestlers who do not seem to need developing and could hang on the main roster the day they sign. One wrestler who arguably fits that description might have planted the seeds for his main roster debut. WWE has posted a video from backstage at this week’s Monday Night Raw showing Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode running into NXT’s LA Knight. Roode and Ziggler mock Knight for not being on the right show, with Knight responding that the two of them can come see him any Tuesday night. The three also talked about the importance of the Royal Rumble, though there is nothing to suggest that Knight will be involved in the match at this point. Knight has been part of NXT just shy of a year ago and is a former Million Dollar Champion. Prior to the start of this stint in NXT, Knight wrestled..

Several New Names Announced For Royal Rumble

The field keeps getting stacked. The Royal Rumble is less than five days away and that means WWE has a lot of spots to fill in and not much time left to do it. There have been a lot of names set already but WWE likes to wait until the very last minute to make some announcements. That was the case again this week, as some more names were added to the fields. WWE has announced that seven more names have been added to the men’s Royal Rumble field. Before this week’s Monday Night Raw went on the air, WWE tweeted that the following names had joined the match: Omos Randy Orton Riddle Chad Gable Otis Dolph Ziggler Robert Roode With these new additions, there are twenty two out of thirty entrants announced for the men’s match. At the same time, there are also twenty two entrances set for the women’s edition. There is no word on if any more names will be announced. REVIEW: NXT Takeover: Orlando: Homecoming And Farewell

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Takeover: Orlando Date: April 1, 2017 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Attendance: 14,975 Commentators: Tom Phillips, Nigel McGuinness, Percy Watson It’s already time for another Takeover as the time between these things is seemingly getting shorter and shorter. If nothing else it certainly feels that way and that’s not the best thing in the world. These shows need time to build up and they’re not getting as much time now. Still though, if Bobby Roode vs. Shinsuke Nakamura can be as good as it was before, ..

WATCH: Bobby Roode’s Smackdown Debut

Absolutely Glorious! WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the full debut of Bobby Roode on the main roster in 2017. He debuted on the August 22 episode of Smackdown Live. You can see the video in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From our own Thomas Hall: The fans go INSANE for the entrance and Roode seems to be a face, at least for the night. They take turns posing at each other with Roode clotheslining English to the floor and sending us to a break. Back with English in control but Roode drives him into the corner for some chops. A forearm sets up the Blockbuster as JBL says Roode needs to win to get some beer money. English hits a Director’s Cut for two but walks into a spinebuster. The Glorious DDT ends English at 6:28. Result: Bobby Roode b. Aiden English – Glorious DDT (6:28) Post-match, Roode says everything he does is big box office and in a New York minute Smackdown has gone from great to GLORIOUS. Back To Back: Randy Orton Sets Another Amazing WWE Record

He might have it for awhile. Monday Night Raw has been on the air for a long time and will be celebrating its thirtieth anniversary in 2023. That is a heck of a run and there have been some incredibly memorable moments over the years. Some of them have been better than others, but there are certain names who go along with the show’s history. Now one of them has reached an amazing accomplishment. According to 411mania.com, Randy Orton has now wrestled the most matches in the history of Monday Night Raw. Orton and Riddle defeated Dolph Ziggler/Robert Roode on this week’s Monday Night Raw, marking Orton’s 437th match on the show, breaking his tie with Kane for the most in history. This comes less than two weeks after Orton set the record (also previously shared with Kane) for the most pay per view matches in WWE history. Orton has been on Monday Night Raw for a long time. Tribute To The Troops 2021 Results

Tribute to the Troops 2021 Date: November 14, 2021 Location: Toyota Arena, Ontario, California Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee It’s time for the big patriotic show, which is actually taking place closer to Thanksgiving this time around instead of the usual Christmas season. This one is airing on FOX to make it feel even bigger, though it is just a one hour edition which was taped last month at Smackdown. In other words, they don’t seem to be putting in as much effort this year. Let’s get to it. Lilian Garcia sings the National Anthem. Video on the troops and what this show means to WWE. Big E. vs. Dolph Ziggler Non-title and commentary does give a brief recap of their history. Robert Roode is here with Ziggler and dig those red, white and blue ropes. Big E. powers out of a waistlock to start and sends Ziggler flying, setting up some gyrations. A kick to the ribs slows Big E. down and Ziggler gyrates a bit as well. That just earns him the abdominal stretch with rhythmic shots..
