Farewell? AEW Star Says “Thank You”, “Bye” In Cryptic Post

That’s a tease. The AEW roster has grown quite a bit during the company’s three and a half year history. There have been several names to come and go from the locker room and it can mean a lot for a wrestler to get a spot in the company. While there have been several successes, there have been some who can’t seem to get out of the blocks. Now another one of the latter is teasing something. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: AEW’s Saraya Shares Details On Planned Autobiography About Her Drug Addiction Issues AEW’s Andrade El Idolo has posted an image of himself holding his mask with the caption “I just want to say thank you!!! Bye” in both English and Spanish. El Idolo does not go into further details of what he is saying “bye” to. He is currently suspended from AEW after a backstage altercation with Sammy Guevara and has not wrestled a match for the company since September 4. There has been nothing to indicate that El Idolo is leaving AEW. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Andrade El..

WWE Places Restrictions On Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Great Muta Pro Wrestling Noah Match

There are catches. WWE is the biggest wrestling company in the world but they are not the only option out there. In addition to WWE, there are all kinds of wrestling promotions around the world that have quite the followings of their own. Those companies are able to offer major matches, but in this case WWE is working with one of the other promotions. There just happen to be some special rules to follow. It was recently announced that WWE’s Shinsuke Nakamura would be facing Great Muta at the January 1, 2023 Pro Wrestling Noah event as part of Nakamura’s retirement tour. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the match is being allowed to take place, but with certain restrictions. While Pro Wrestling Noah is allowed to create the hype video and match graphics, but they are not allowed to mention WWE anywhere outside of Japan or in anything written in English. There is no word on if WWE will promote the match. Opinion: This is one of those things that probably has some busines..

Former WWE Star Announces That His In-Ring Career Is Over, Moving Towards Broadcasting

His boots are hung up. Wrestlers have one of the strangest career paths in any industry as it can be rather difficult to get out of the industry. Since wrestlers can find work in a variety of places around the country, it can be easy to keep going for a bit longer than they should. You do see some wrestlers who are able to find a way out of the ring though and another one has done just that. Former WWE star Matthew Rehwoldt, better known as Aiden English, has announced that he will not be taking anymore in-ring bookings. Rehwoldt said that he does not feel like he belongs in the ring anymore and would rather focus on other areas. Instead of wrestling, Rehwoldt will be focusing on broadcasting and other industries, including voiceovers, gaming and esports. Rehwoldt has been doing broadcast work for Impact Wrestling and last wrestled on May 14. So here you go: I will no longer be taking bookings to wrestle going forward. I've always been most at home with a mic in front of me ..

More Former WWE Stars Added To Upcoming Independent Event

It’s one of the important parts. Commentary is one of the most critical aspects of any wrestling promotion. The commentary team is there to tell the fans the story that the company wants to present and guide them on the way. The right team can do all kinds of good things for a promotion and now one of the newest ones has picked up a veteran commentary team of its own. Wrestling Entertainment Series, a new promotion based in the United Kingdom, has announced that former WWE broadcasters Jonathan Coachman and Matthew Rehwoldt, also known as Aiden English, will be the company’s new commentary team. This marks Coachman’s first wrestling appearance since 2018, when he was part of the Monday Night Raw commentary team. Rehwoldt is currently a broadcaster for Impact Wrestling and there is nothing to suggest he will be leaving. Wrestling Entertainment Series’ first show is scheduled to air on June 4. You Probably Won’t Be Seeing A Released WWE Star For A Long Time

That’s a serious problem. This week’s WWE releases shook up the company all over again and there are a lot of wrestlers now getting ready to look for work. That is not the kind of thing that a lot of people expected to happen and it can have some pretty rough ramifications on several wrestlers. It turns out that one of them has a unique problem to deal with after being released. Katrina Cortez was one of the wrestlers released from the company on Thursday. Cortez is originally from Chile and is not an American citizen. Now that she has been released from her WWE contract, she has announced that her work visa expires in thirty days, meaning that she will be forced to leave the country. Cortez debuted for WWE in 2019 and has mainly been used on NXT. At 18 I made the decision to travel to an unknown country, without knowing English I came here… today I receive an email telling me that my visa expires next month and I will have to sell everything that with much love and effort I have ach..

WATCH: WWE Star Debuts New Character On Monday Night Raw

That’s a new way to go. Tournaments are as simple and easy of a concept as there is to understand in wrestling. While you see them happen on a regular basis, there are a few that stand out among the rest. Some of the bigger tournaments have quite the legacy of their own and that can go a long way for a lot of wrestlers. That seems to be the case again, as one tournament has given a wrestler a new direction. This week’s Monday Night Raw featured the coronation of Zelina Vega, who won the inaugural Queen’s Crown tournament last week at Crown Jewel. During her coronation, Vega began using an English accent, as Booker T. had done upon winning the King of the Ring in 2006, which led to him becoming King Booker. Vega went on to defeat Doudrop in a rematch of the tournament final while using her scepter as a weapon. This could be quite the change. Check out how Vega earned the crown, the coronation, and what she might be impersonating: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post..

WWE Extreme Rules Undergoes Embarrassing Technical Problems

That’s a problem. WWE is a huge wrestling promotion and they have a lot of things going on at the same time. Above all else though is presenting a wrestling product, which can be a little more complicated than it might seem. Sometimes things are going to happen that aren’t in the original plans, and some of those can be very notable. That was the case during a major event. During Sunday’s Extreme Rules, the show’s audio was not working as planned, with the Spanish commentary feed leaking in along with the English. This took place during the Kickoff Show match between Carmella and Liv Morgan but was corrected during the match. The problem came back during the show’s first match between New Day and the team of Bobby Lashley, AJ Styles and Omos, though this time it was the French commentary. The audio was corrected before the end of the six man tag. Commentator Pat McAfee referenced the issues later in the show. You might be able to notice. Check out the two matches where this happened,..

Former WWE Star Makes Surprise Debut In Impact Wrestling

You might remember him. There are a lot of talented wrestlers in the world today but there are only so many spots for them on the biggest stage. WWE has let a lot of wrestlers go over the last year or so and some of them have popped up elsewhere. That can make for some interesting debuts when they show up in another promotion, which was the case again this weekend. Matthew Rehwoldt, formerly known as Aiden English in WWE, made his Impact Wrestling debut at their Homecoming event on Saturday. Rehwoldt and Deonna Purrazzo teamed up to win the Homecoming Tournament, earning the titles of King and Queen of Impact. After debuting with WWE in 2012, Rehwoldt was released from the company on April 15, 2020. A vignette aired announcing his debut with the company at last week’s Slammiversary event. Rehwoldt is a surprise addition. Check out his time in the ring: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] ..

VIDEO: Several Stars Debut And Return At Slammiversary

It was a busy night. WWE is the biggest and most powerful wrestling company in the world but it is absolutely no the only one. There are all kinds of other places to see very talented wrestlers around the world and that is a great thing for fans. Sometimes a former WWE wrestler will go somewhere else and we will get to see them thrive in a very different way. That might be the case all over again. Several new stars made their debuts or returns at Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary. Three wrestlers made their debuts and two more made a return, while another wrestler was teased for a future debut. During the show, No Way (formerly No Way Jose in WWE), Thunder Rosa and Jay White made their debuts. Chelsea Green (formerly known as Laurel Van Ness in Impact Wrestling), and Mickie James both made their returns to the promotion. Finally a vignette aired teasing the Drama King, which was the nickname for former WWE star Aiden English. No Way appeared as a mystery tag team partner for Fallah Ba..

AEW Broadcaster Caught Using Racial Stereotype On Hot Mic

That won’t go well. Sometimes, a mistake is made in wrestling, just like in anything else. This can be something big or small, but the situation can be made even worse if it is heard by the masses. Sometimes there is no way around it though and that might be the case again, as a member of a wrestling announce team was overheard saying something that will not be well received. During this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, Hikaru Shida came to the ring for an interview. According to Wrestlinginc.com, Willie Urbina, part of the Spanish broadcast team, was asked to translate what Shida said but mocked her accent in a stereotypical Japanese tone. Fellow broadcaster Dasha Gonzalez gave an awkward laugh and told Ubrina to “shut up” while Thunder Rosa defended Shida’s English and called Urbina “bad”. AEW has not commented on the situation. Shida was in the ring to discuss her year plus long reign as AEW Women’s Champion. She was also presented by a newly designed title belt, as given to her by..

205 Live Results – March 27, 2020

205 Live Date: March 27, 2020 Location: WWE Performance Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Jon Quasto, Aiden English We’re still in the new version of the show here and that’s the kind of thing that 205 Live has been needing. It’s just a showcase show these days with no pressure or stories, but more importantly they don’t have the vanishing crowds or extended shows. It’s a good sign, even though the show is little more than filler on the Network. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Isaiah Scott vs. Joaquin Wilde Wilde goes with the hammerlock on the mat to start before switching over to the armbar. Scott is right back up and they trade headscissors to a standoff. Another headscissors sends Scott to the floor but he pulls the ring skirt aside to trap Wilde. Some kicks to the back set up some forearms to the face as Scott is a bit more aggressive this time. The chinlock sets up a Gory Stretch of all things, cranking the arms together rather hard. Scott even leans down into a backs..

205 Live Results – March 20, 2020

205 Live Date: March 20, 2020 Location: WWE Performance Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Jon Quasto, Aiden English We’re back here and thankfully this show has gotten into the formula that it should have had years ago: a short form show which gets in and out without wasting a bunch of time. Last week saw Kushida and Isaiah Scott surviving the elimination tag and that could set up some stuff for the future. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Joaquin Wilde vs. Danny Burch Burch cranks on the arm to start and takes him down with a wristlock. That’s switched into a Fujiwara armbar to work on a different part of the arm because Burch is that thorough. Wilde reverses into an armbar of his own but they wind up heading outside instead. Burch knocks him into the barricade, only to have Wilde dive off of said barricade to drop Burch again. Back in and Wilde goes back to the arm for a good bit until Burch jawbreaks his way to freedom. Some shots in the corner set up a middle rope missil..

The Ultimate Rub. Vince McMahon Reportedly High On THIS WWE Superstar.

It’s the best thing you can have. While he may not be the most popular name in wrestling these days, there is no denying that Vince McMahon is the most important person in the wrestling world. Any decision that he makes is going to be able to change any career at the drop of a hat and if he’s a fan of yours, you might be set for a long time. It turns out that it might be the case with someone at the moment. According to Fightful.com by way of Cagesideseats.com, McMahon is still high on Andrade, who was said to have gotten McMahon’s attention back in the fall. Andrade has since improved his English skills, which has raised his stock in McMahon’s eyes. At the moment, Andrade is scheduled to take part in the upcoming men’s Money in the Bank ladder match later this month. Andrade looked good this week on SmackDown Live. Check out his match against Ali: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: That is quite the rub to receive as McMahon can literally change your career overni..

205 Live Results – March 19, 2019

205 Live Date: March 19, 2019 Location: Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, Indiana Commentators: Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness, Aiden English The tournament concludes tonight and we’re going to have a new Wrestlemania match set. This wee will see Cedric Alexander vs. Tony Nese for the right to challenge Buddy Murphy for the Cruiserweight Title in a match that totally won’t be on the Kickoff Show. Other than that, Mike Kanellis is running out of chances to prove himself worthy of being on the 205 Live roster. Let’s get to it. Drake Maverick recaps the tournament before tonight’s final. Opening sequence. Here are the Kanellises for a chat before Mike’s (now with no hair) match. Maria says he’s the greatest wrestler in the world and better than the best. Mike is about to prove everyone wrong, including whoever his opponent is. Mike Kanellis vs. Akira Tozawa Tozawa is a mystery opponent. Mike grabs the arm and is immediately driven into a rope for the break. An aggressive fight ove..

205 Live Results – March 12, 2019

205 Live Date: March 12, 2019 Location: Nutter Center, Dayton, Ohio Commentators: Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness, Aiden English The tournament season continues around here with the final four of the Cruiserweight Title #1 Contender tournament. In this case, there aren’t exactly a ton of great options but that’s the case with a lot of the title scene at the moment. Cedric Alexander is probably the favorite to win the whole thing, as tends to be the case, but bigger surprises have happened before. Let’s get to it. We open with Drew Gulak for a change. He loves tournament semifinals because it’s where you separate the men from the boys. In other words, it’s the round where Tony Nese collapses under the pressure. Drew owns him and tonight will be no different. Nese knows that Gulak is different than anyone else on the roster because Gulak will dissect every mistake that Nese makes. His focus is his best asset and Gulak knows nothing about him. Oney Lorcan says this is all business and he..

205 Live Results – March 5, 2019

205 Live Date: March 5, 2019 Location: Mohegan-Sun Arena At Casey Place, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania Commentators: Vic Joseph, Aiden English, Nigel McGuinness It’s time for the second week of the tournament and that’s not a bad thing. This is the kind of show that is far better when they go with straight wrestling and minimal storytelling, which is what you get in a tournament setting. Tonight we get the second half of the first round, meaning we’ll be down to four by the end of the night. Let’s get to it. Drake Maverick does his usual recap/preview. Opening sequence. Video on Oney Lorcan, a surprise entrant in the tournament. He’s been on 205 Live before, albeit in a one off appearance the night after Wrestlemania 33. Lorcan says he can adapt his style to any opponent. He could see himself defeating Buddy Murphy for the Cruiserweight Championship. #1 Contender Tournament First Round: Oney Lorcan vs. Humberto Carrillo Before the match, Carrillo says that Lorcan is a strong opponent..

Shinsuke Nakamura was recently interviewed by Sports Illustrated, where he discussed a number of topics. Among them were his goals in WWE, comparing WWE to NJPW, learning english and more. Below are some highlights from the interview: On his goals for WWE: “My purpose is to make the United States title like I did the Intercontinental championship in New Japan,” said Nakamura. “I want to make the title different. I want to wrestle a lot of different kinds of wrestlers for the U.S. title.” [This post contains video, click to play] On comparing WWE to NJPW: “WWE is a different form of wrestling,” explained Nakamura. “It’s different than New Japan. I wrestled a different style with New Japan, but WWE is a live TV show.” On learning english: “I’m still learning,” said Nakamura. “My family speaks the language better than me, and they’re trying to fix my English. It’s so different from Japanese. The other stuff—moving, adjusting, and all that, that was a little bit tough.” On the WW..

What Happened After Monday Night Raw Went Off The Air?

Four hands are better than two. This week’s Monday Night Raw took place in England, though the big hero at the end of the night was Kurt Angle. While Angle was defeated in the main event by Drew McIntyre, it came after a hard fought effort at the end of a long show. That wasn’t quite it for the evening though, as there was one more thing for the English crowd. According to Ringsidenews.com, after this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw went off the air, McIntyre continued to attack Angle until Dolph Ziggler ran in to help with the beatdown. Braun Strowman came out to save Angle and the villains ran off. Ziggler had wrestled earlier in the night in a losing effort against Elias while Strowman made multiple appearances without having a match. Here’s how the main event went down. [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: That’s not the worst way to end a night as Strowman seems to be popular still. At the same time though, aside from Seth Rollins, who else do you have? At th..

Hell In A Cell 2018 Results

Hell in a Cell 2018 Date: September 16, 2018 Location: AT&T Center, San Antonio, Texas Commentators: Michael Cole, Renee Young, Corey Graves, Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton Welcome to the first show of the three that WWE is currently building. In this case we have the show designed around carnage and that could mean a few things. The show hasn’t exactly blown me away on paper but maybe they’ll surprise me here. There are two matches inside the big red cage tonight so let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Smackdown Tag Team Titles: Rusev Day vs. New Day Rusev Day is defending after winning a tournament. Kofi wastes no time in double stomping English and it’s already off to Rusev. A fall away slam has Kofi in trouble and we go split screen to see an Alexa Bliss vs. Ronda Rousey ad. Back with Kofi fighting out of a front facelock and hitting a tornado DDT for the tag off to Big E. Suplexes abound but Rusev tags himself in to kick Big E. in the head. English tags himself back in though, leaving Bi..
