WWE Partners With Disney+ To Air WWE Network Content In Certain Area

That’s a big partnership. WWE is the biggest wrestling promotion in the world and has been for a very long time now. No other wrestling company is anywhere close to what WWE is doing at the moment and it makes sense for other companies outside of WWE to want in on it. Now one of the biggest entertainment companies in the world is going to be doing some business with WWE. According to PWInsider.com, the WWE Network will be available on Disney+ in the Philippines beginning on November 17. The agreement will include live events and archived content, plus material from the Star brand, which is similar to Hulu in the United States. There is currently nothing to suggest that Disney and WWE will be working together elsewhere in the near future. Opinion: This is something that doesn’t mean much in the United States or to most of the world, but anything involving WWE working with a company like Disney is a huge deal. Edge Lands New Acting Role In Upcoming Disney Project

He has a knack for that. Wrestler have a weird relationship with acting, as you would think that they are capable of fitting into the acting world with ease, though it doesn’t exactly work that way. Only a handful of actors have done well in acting and it can be quite the second career for anyone who can make it work. Now another wrestling legend has landed quite the acting role. According to Variety, WWE Hall of Famer and current Monday Night Raw star Edge has landed a recurring role on the Disney+ Percy Jackson series. Edge will play Ares, the god of war, who will “act as an agent of chaos wherever he goes”. Edge has had a second career in acting following his original retirement from the ring, appearing on shows such as Vikings, Haven and The Flash. It’s a gig. Wrestlers have a tendency to be some of the most larger than life figures that you will see no matter where you go. They are able to do things that do not seem logical but work in their own universe. That is the case with almost any wrestler, but it can be strange to see them outside of their bubble. Now we are seeing someone else go to a different kind of over the top area. Former WWE star David Otunga makes a cameo appearance in the trailer for She Hulk: Attorney At Law, an upcoming Disney+ series. Otunga seems to play a date of the title character and is seen posing with his muscles flexing in his appearance. Otunga retired from wrestling in 2014, last wrestling on a WWE live event in July 2015. Since retiring from the ring, Otunga has dabbled in acting, appearing in both movies and television series. The company has been the industry leader for over twenty years and that will likely be the case for a long time to come. Getting to a prominent spot in WWE can mean the world to some wrestlers, but there are other things out there. Now a prominent WWE star might want one of those other spots. During an appearance on the Impaulsive podcast, WWE’s Sasha Banks spoke about having to choose between a WWE career and going to Hollywood. Banks said that she wants to take over the world, but that might be in Hollywood, WWE, or another place entirely. WWE Announces New Deal With Disney+ Hotstar

That’s a big deal. WWE is the biggest wrestling company in the world and has made a fortune through its licensing deals. By merely allowing other companies and platforms to air its content, WWE has managed to make enough money that it is guaranteed to be profitable for a long time to come. That has not stopped them from pushing on further though, and that is the case again with an international deal. WWE and Disney+ Hotstar have announced, by way of 411mania.com, that the WWE Network will be available on Disney+ in Indonesia. This is similar to Peacock airing WWE Network content in the United States, with the deal including this weekend’s Royal Rumble. The deal is WWE’s first of any kind with Disney, though it is not clear if the two sides will be entering into any more agreements going forward. It was a busy week. There have been a lot of changes in WWE and NXT over the last few months and those are going to continue going forward. With so many moves being made, it can be easy to lose track of who is doing what and even who everyone is. That was the case again this week, as several new names and faces made a variety of debuts during the latest episode of NXT. There were four debuts of different kinds during this week’s edition of NXT. First up, a woman named Persia debuted during Indi Hartwell’s bachelorette party. Persia said that she came from Australia to see Disney World and stayed for her best friend’s party. She is better known as Steph de Lander, an Australian wrestlers who signed with WWE back in March. Later in the show, the Creed Brothers, Julius and Brutus, made their in-ring debuts as part of the Diamond Mine, winning a short match. Wrestlers are seen as actors but they rarely get the chance to act outside of roles playing wrestlers, as that is all they are seen as being. That has not been as bad in recent years though, as some wrestlers are getting the chance to branch out. One is doing so in a major way. Sasha Banks is one of the Four Horsewomen and has come a long way in her time on the main roster. After dominant the NXT Women’s Division, Banks moved up and has become a five time Raw Women’s Champion. When worlds collide. Whether you like it or not, Disney is the biggest entertainment company in the world and nothing is really even close. They own almost every top franchise today and several of the biggest of all time. That makes their stamp of approval all the more valuable and now they are putting some of their focus on the world of wrestling. Or at least something close to it. Wrestling does not have the best history when it comes to depictions on television. Several shows have not presented it in the best light as wrestling is often treated as a comedy performance rather than something serious.
