They have plans. We are in the middle of a whirlwind time for WWE, as the company seems likely to be sold off in the near future. That is the kind of change that could have all kinds of ramifications and there is no telling of how widespread they could be. In the middle of all that though, there is the question of when it could happen. Now we might have a better answer.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is hoping to have the company sold by the middle of the year, though there is no word on who the buyer will be. There are several options in the running, including Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. Earlier this week, WWE CEO Nick Khan met with Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger and ESPN CEO Jimmy Pitaro. Another possible buyer is Endeavor, the parent company of the UFC.
Those are some interesting options but there may be a surprise. Check out some WWE surprises:
Opinion: I’m not sure where all of this is going, but it has the potential to be the biggest move in the history of wrestling. WWE is the king of the industry and moving it under another banner is hard to fathom. It’s all going to come down to who owns it though, as there are some very, very interesting possibilities out there. Hopefully it all works out, but this could be nuts.
