WWE Will Be Working With The NFL For A Special Moment Next Week

Call it a crossover. Professional wrestlers are certainly athletes, but there is a certain stigma about them. While what they do is some of the hardest work in all of sports, critics will waste no time in reminding you that what you are seeing is fake, or at least scripted and predetermined. That can make it a bit difficult for wrestling to be seen as athletics, but now some wrestlers will be appearing at a major athletic event. WWE has announced that The Miz and Titus O’Neil will be representing the company at the upcoming NFL Draft in Las Vegas. The two will get to announce selections for their respective hometown teams, the Cleveland Browns (Miz) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (O’Neil), the latter of which will be celebrating his birthday. O’Neil had a career in professional football, playing in the Arena Football League from 2003-2007. Opinion: This is one of those cool things that WWE gets to do every now and then. While WWE stars might not be the biggest celebrities in the world, the..

Here’s Who Dominated At The NXT Power Lifting Combine

They’re good at that kind of thing in NXT. One of the most common criticisms that you will see of wrestlers is that they are not real athletes. Critics will cite the predetermined nature of a match to say that everything about wrestling is fake, which is just not the case. What the wrestlers are doing in the ring is very real and shows you just how athletically gifted these people are. That was on display again this week. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, NXT held a powerlifting combine at the Performance Center earlier this week. There were different lifting groups for both men and women, with NXT Champion Bron Breakker and Zoey Stark scoring the highest in two rep bench press, while JJ Baron and Yulisa Leon and Kayden Carter scored the highest in the two rep box squat respectively. Here are the full results: Two-Rep Bench Press, Men: * Bron Breakker: 455 pounds * Brutus Creed, Tony D’Angelo: 385 pounds * JJ Baron, Bryce Montana, Von Wagner, Julius Creed, Josh Briggs: ..

Alexa Bliss Responds To Fan Criticisms Of Monday Night Raw Segments

She might have some insight. WWE presents a lot of different stories across its wrestling shows and some of them are not the most well received. Sometimes a story seems to be rejected right out of the box and there is little that can be done to make it better. That seems to be the case again and now the subject of the story has something to say to its critics. Over the last few weeks, Alexa Bliss has made her first appearances on WWE television since September, when Charlotte ripped up her Lily doll. In her two appearances since, Bliss has been seen in therapy, where she is shown to still be obsessed with Lily. The segments have not be the most well received, prompting Bliss to respond to the criticisms on Twitter. Bliss said that “sometimes you need to just be patient & see how things play out.” There is no word on when Bliss will be returning to the arena or the ring. Sometimes you need to just be patient & see how things play out … — Lexi Kaufman (@AlexaBliss_WWE) January 18, 202..

[This post contains video, click to play] AEW’s Growing Locker Room It’s quite possibly the single most asked question of exiting WWE stars of the past two years. Since AEW’s birth and growth in the industry, Tony Khan’s company has become a landing spot for several ex-WWE talents. It’s a situation that has played out many times and it’s likely not going to end anytime soon. Critics of AEW cite the company’s penchant for signing former WWE stars as the reason for Khan’s success. After all, WWE stars have had the benefit of working for a much ..

Was Once Enough? Update On Blood And Swearing In AEW.

You have to draw the line somewhere. Whether you’re a fan of AEW or not, it is hard to argue that Double Or Nothing worked quite well. The show seemed to draw a nice audience and the show received a fair bit of praise from most critics. However, there is more to AEW than one pay per view, which means things that worked there might not work out as well in the future. That is something that one of their stars has addressed. According to Fightful.com by way of Ringsidenews.com, Jimmy Havoc has said that AEW will have less blood and swearing going forward. This comes after Dustin Rhodes’ heavy amount of blood loss at Double Or Nothing. There is no word on whether or not bleeding will be banned, or if this will be the case on both pay per views or the upcoming television show on TNT. Havoc loves to fight. Check him out in Monster’s Ball in Impact Wrestling: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: You had to know something like this was coming. The Rhodes blade job at Double ..

Roman Reigns Responsible For Recent Rise of Independent Wrestling

For the past four years, WWE officials have been promoting Roman Reigns as the top babyface in the company. He’s main evented the last four WrestleMania events, but he is still routinely booed out of arenas on a regular basis. That’s why some fans are very unhappy and don’t believe he deserves his position in the company and on WWE TV. His critics are too busy criticizing how he continuously impacts WWE programming in a negative way to realize the positive effect he has on the industry as a whole. According to RingSideNews, Reigns might be responsible for the growth of the independent scenes. Related: Roman Reigns Doesn’t Care If You Boo Him And Neither Does WWE One of the common complaints is WWE doing what is best for the company and not for the fans. That’s allowed more wrestling fans to get their wrestling elsewhere and more independent promotions and shows are willing to give their consumer what they want because they don’t have to deal with sponsors or certain restrictions lik..

Is Seth Rollins the True Top Guy in WWE?

Seth Rollins is the best in WWE right now. That is no secret for anyone paying attention to the product lately. Rollins has truly stepped his game like never before since becoming the Intercontinental champion at WrestleMania 34. His run as WWE champion in 2015 was good but he did not receive the acclaim he’s receiving now. That may have been due to Triple H and Stephanie McMahon’s constant involvement or it may have been due to Rollins’ status as the top heel. However fans just cannot get enough of him now and he definitely looks great in every aspect of his game. Seth has proved there’s life after The Authority and he is making his case for best in the world. But while he may be on an all-time high in the company, he’s not the top guy. That may not be an issue for him or his fans but for a great many of the WWE faithful, Rollins is the perfect alternative to Roman Reigns. Reigns’ run as the face of WWE has been deemed a failed experiment by some. Yet no matter how many critics belie..

The Ross Report Recap w/ Bruce Mitchell – Battleground Analysis, Fatal 4-Way Sure to Deliver, Are There Too Many PPVs? More!

Ross says that while this past Sunday’s Battleground PPV has been widely criticized by fans and critics alike, he doesn’t believe any of that should be placed at the feet of the talent who he thought worked very hard on Sunday night. He believes we’re living in a society where the glass is always half empty, when in reality it could be half full as well.

He says that sometimes WWE has the tendency to book themselves into a corner, and that might have been the case this past Sunday. With a Flag Match and a Punjabi Prison match, WWE removed the drama of false finishes and this might have been a negative to the show’s overall presentation.

He thought Kevin Owens and A.J. Styles had a very good match, but there was an intangible missing and that prevented it from being great. He says that if he was booking a territory today two of the first individuals he’d want to sign are Owens and Styles. Ross also thought Cena & Rusev worked hard in their match despite the live crowd being somewhat uninterested.

Ross thought all the women worked hard in their match as well and while Natalya winning was a surprise, Ross thinks this was a great booking decision by WWE. Charlotte is obviously the alpha female in WWE right now but she needs opponents, so Ross thinks it’s only a matter of time before this Natalya win results in a positive situation for Charlotte.

Ryback is joined on today’s show by his co-host Pat Buck.

Ryback informs that he just finished another stem cell procedure, which is helping him with injuries he suffered over his career in professional wrestling. He is having issues with the discs in his neck/back, and for this reason he says he is done performing any type of stunner manoeuvre. He says that even executing a leg drop is very hard on your body when you do it for multiple years.

Ryback comments on some negative buzz that he has received on the indie scene, with some people thinking that he’s failing on the indies simply because they don’t see him wrestling for certain promotions. He informs that he’s simply choosing not to wrestle for some promotions, because he’s not wrestling for free or for a discount since he knows his value.

He says that people can criticize him all day long but he knows how hard he works, and if any of these critics spent any time with him they’d see it too. He says that this past year has been a terrific year for him financially both with wrestling and with his supplement business, and while he continues to let his body heal, he’s not focused on working for any and all promotions that inquire about bookings.
