LOOK: WWE Drops Hint At 46 Year Old Former Champion’s Possible Return

Call it a hint? WWE stars are forced to move around a lot as there are only so many places to put them at any given time. Occasionally they are forced to leave for reasons against their will, such as getting hurt. Unfortunately there is no way around something like this and the question becomes how long it will be before they are able to come back. WWE may have dropped a hint about one such upcoming return. WWE has released a new photo gallery featuring images of wrestlers supporting their nations teams for the FIFA World Cup. One such photo includes Bobby Roode representing his native Canada. Roode also had a SmackDown logo behind his picture, indicating that he is still part of the SmackDown roster. Roode has not wrestled since June 25 and underwent surgery in September. There is no word on when he will be returning to the ring. IMG Credit: WWE Roode is a star when he is able to be in the ring. Update On Bobby Roode’s Injury Status, Possible WWE Plans

They might have a plan. With so many wrestlers on the WWE main roster, it can be difficult to keep track of everyone. WWE has enough wrestlers to put them into different distinct rosters. The wrestlers will occasionally move from one roster to another, with some changes coming when someone is coming back from an extended break. That is likely going to be the situation sooner than later. According to PWInsider.com, Bobby Roode was seen in Birmingham, Alabama earlier this week. Birmingham is the location where injured wrestlers go for medical treatment to recover from injuries, including Roode, who underwent surgery in Birmingham a few weeks ago. WWE is hoping that Roode will be back soon and there has been discussion about putting him on SmackDown. Roode has been out of action since late June. Opinion: This is long overdue as Roode has been gone for quite a long time, but there is only so much that can be done if he is injured. The good thing is that it seems like he is on his way bac..

REVIEW: NXT Takeover: Orlando: Homecoming And Farewell

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Takeover: Orlando Date: April 1, 2017 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Attendance: 14,975 Commentators: Tom Phillips, Nigel McGuinness, Percy Watson It’s already time for another Takeover as the time between these things is seemingly getting shorter and shorter. If nothing else it certainly feels that way and that’s not the best thing in the world. These shows need time to build up and they’re not getting as much time now. Still though, if Bobby Roode vs. Shinsuke Nakamura can be as good as it was before, ..

WATCH: Bobby Roode’s Smackdown Debut

Absolutely Glorious! WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the full debut of Bobby Roode on the main roster in 2017. He debuted on the August 22 episode of Smackdown Live. You can see the video in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From our own Thomas Hall: The fans go INSANE for the entrance and Roode seems to be a face, at least for the night. They take turns posing at each other with Roode clotheslining English to the floor and sending us to a break. Back with English in control but Roode drives him into the corner for some chops. A forearm sets up the Blockbuster as JBL says Roode needs to win to get some beer money. English hits a Director’s Cut for two but walks into a spinebuster. The Glorious DDT ends English at 6:28. Result: Bobby Roode b. Aiden English – Glorious DDT (6:28) Post-match, Roode says everything he does is big box office and in a New York minute Smackdown has gone from great to GLORIOUS. Write It In Pen. What Is Planned For The Raw Tag Team Titles At Clash Of Champions?

The more plans change. We are less than three weeks away from Clash Of Champions and the card is starting to take some shape. The show is built around all of the titles that WWE has, which is quite a number indeed. All of the titles are only line throughout the show and that means champions need to be in action. One person currently holds two titles, but is that going to be the case at the show? According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins are likely to hold onto the Raw Tag Team Titles all the way until Clash Of Champions. The main selling point for the two of them has been both men wrestling twice in one night, meaning they are unlikely to drop the titles before the pay per view. Rollins and Strowman are scheduled to defend their titles against Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode before facing off for the Universal Title later that night. The title match is a big deal. Check out how it was set up: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I can’t say..

Welcome Back! Former Tag Team Reunites Before Monday Night Raw.

Good to see you again. This week on Monday Night Raw, Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode won a Tag Team Turmoil match to become the new #1 contenders for the Raw Tag Team Titles. Their title shot will come at Clash Of Champions against new champions Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman, who won the titles in their first match as a team. It is clear that WWE is paying attention to tag teams, which makes another development more understandable. According to Wrestlinginc.com, Heath Slater and Titus O’Neil wrestled in a match during this week’s Main Event tapings, defeating Eric Young and Mojo Rawley before Monday Night Raw went on the air. Slater and O’Neil teamed together as Slater Gator from late 2014 until early 2015 with little success. There is no reason to believe that this is anything more than a one off match instead of a full time reunion. They were kind of legendary. Check out one of their rather amusing promos, complete with a mascot: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinio..

Who Are You Again? Three Name Changes Announced On Monday Night Raw.

Can we get some name tags? Last week on Monday Night Raw, the NXT Tag Team Champions the War Raiders made their main roster debut, but things had changed a bit. They were now called the Viking Experience and were individually known as Erik and Ivar. To say the names weren’t well received would be an understatement, but this time WWE has changed things up a bit. A week after debuting as the Viking Experience, the team has now been renamed the Viking Raiders, with the individual names remaining. During their attack on the Lucha House Party, the team’s pop up powerbomb was called the Viking Experience. That wasn’t the only name change on the show though, as Bobby Roode is now known as Robert Roode, which he wrestled under in Impact Wrestling. Meet the mustache. Check out Roode’s new image: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: You know it says a lot when WWE admits that one of their ideas didn’t work. That’s the case with the Raiders, whose new name was such a disaster t..

The Process Of Elimination. The Addition Of Several Names To A Battle Royal Suggests Matches Being Left Off WrestleMania.

You have to fill in the ranks somehow. With less than two weeks to go before WrestleMania 35, two of the matches that are in need of some more details are the battle royals, which could combine for nearly fifty names making it onto the show. While it’s interesting to see who is included in the field, the rosters can also show you what might not be taking place on the show, which may be the case here. WWE.com has revealed a list of twenty six more names for the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, bringing the total number of entrants to twenty nine, along with the already entered Michael Che, Colin Jost and Braun Strowman. The additional names (listed below) include Chad Gable, Bobby Roode and the Hardys. This would heavily suggest (though not guarantee) that these four will not be involved in a Tag Team Title match on the show. With these names announced, there is a strong possibility of no SmackDown Tag Team Title match and a somewhat less likely chance of a Raw Tag Team Title mat..

WWE Has A Lot In Store For Next Week’s Monday Night Raw

It’s a busy one. With the last Monday Night Raw of 2018 in the books, it’s time to move on to the new year. That typically means a big show to kick things off, with a title match, a big return or something else that you don’t usually get. WWE likes to get things going well and the fact that it’s going up against the College Football Playoff title game might help things a bit. So what’s on tap? This week on Monday Night Raw, a host of announcements were made for next week’s show. These include appearances by Brock Lesnar and John Cena, the return of Braun Strowman, and a Tag Team Title match with the Revival challenging Chad Gable and Bobby Roode. Strowman has been out of action with a shoulder injury and Lesnar hasn’t appeared on Monday Night Raw since November. This will be Cena’s first appearance on the show since April. He’s back. Check out Strowman’s impressive 2018: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Oh yeah I’d think they know they need to pick things up. The..

Mixed Match Challenge Results – November 20, 2018

Mixed Match Challenge Date: November 20, 2018 Location: Staples Center, Los Angeles, California Commentators: Michael Cole, Renee Young, Vic Joseph We’ve actually arrived at a turning point here with the last night of the regular season. After tonight we move into the playoffs, which should make things a little bit better. Unfortunately we’re getting the four winless teams battling it out for a spot in the final four, because going 1-3 is good enough to get a spot in the playoffs. Let’s get to it. The announcers talk about the prizes. Raw Division: Alicia Fox/Jinder Mahal vs. Bobby Roode/Natalya The losers are out and the Singh Brothers are all banged up from Brock Lesnar destroying them last week. The guys start things off and the fans are behind Bobby in what feels like a rare occurrence. Roode shakes off a wristlock and starts chopping away but can’t hit the Glorious DDT. It’s off to the women with Fox getting caught in a slingshot atomic drop, minus Natalya sticking her knee out..

Survivor Series 2018 Live Coverage And Results

Survivor Series 2018 Date: November 18, 2018 Location: Staples Center, Los Angeles, California Commentators: Michael Cole, Renee Young, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton, Tom Phillips We’re finally here after what felt like the longest, most eventful two week build I’ve ever seen. The theme of the night is Raw vs. Smackdown and that likely means a lot of bantering between the commentators about the scoreboard and brand supremacy, which is all that matters around here. Let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Raw Tag Teams vs. Smackdown Tag Team Raw: Bobby Roode/Chad Gable (captains), Revival, B-Team, Lucha House Party, Ascension Smackdown: Usos (captains), New Day Colons, Good Brothers, Sanity New Day handles the Smackdown introductions. Gable and Roode on the other hand promise a glorious victory. If one member of a team is eliminated, their partner is gone as well. Epico and Kalisto start things off with Kalisto tweaking his leg while flipping out of a belly to back suplex. Woods: “SWEEP THE LEG!..

Survivor Series 2018 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

We’re finally here and odds are the lineups for the matches have changed another 194 times since Tuesday. It’s another year focused on Brand Supremacy and things are changing every day for the sake of…I have no idea really. This time there are seven brand vs. brand matches and a lonesome Cruiserweight Title match (the only title match on the whole show), the latter of which you would expect to be on the Kickoff Show so the whole show could be built around one concept. You know, because that’s how you do a show like this. Let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Monday Raw Tag Teams vs. SmackDown Live Tag Teams Raw: Bobby Roode/Chad Gable (captains), Revival, Lucha House Party, B-Team, Ascension SmackDown: Usos (captains), New Day, Sanity, Good Brothers, Colons For some reason this is on the Kickoff Show, with the likely reason of allowing the entrances to not eat up such a ridiculous amount of time. At the moment this is the only Kickoff Show match and I can’t imagine that winding up being th..

Here’s Why Vince McMahon Has Lost Interest in Bobby Roode

During his time on SmackDown Live, Bobby Roode became a babyface and eventually won the United States Championship. The WWE Universe was expecting more from him with WWE, but his move to Raw after WrestleMania 34 seemed to be another chance. He’s set to participate in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, but no one is expecting him to win the briefcase. It seems that his fans should not expect anything bigger and better from Roode in the future. Apparently, Vince McMahon has lost interest in him. Related: Bobby Roode Comments On The Popularity Of His ‘Glorious’ Entrance According to a rumor from DirtySheets, Vince McMahon was unimpressed during his time on SmackDown Live. During his feud with Dolph Ziggler, The Boss compared the crowd response to his entrance to The Show Off’s. That was enough for McMahon to make up his mind about him and Roode has yet to change Vince’s mind about him. It doesn’t help that Roode is a natural heel. He’s been playing a babyface since debuting on the m..

Video: British Invasion Take On Beer Money Inc. At TNA Sacrifice 2009

Years ago, James Storm and Bobby Roode used to work together in a pretty famous tag team known as Beer Money Inc. During their time together, Beer Money Inc. was arguably the greatest tag team on the TNA roster. In the full match video shown today, the tandem take on the British Invasion in a fantastic match at TNA Sacrifice 2009. United States Championship Match Set For WWE Backlash

Randy Orton has his chance to win his championship back from Jinder Mahal. At WrestleMania 34, Jinder Mahal pinned Rusev in a fatal four way match to win the WWE United States Championship from Randy Orton. On the very next episode of Smackdown, Orton defeated Bobby Roode and Rusev in a triple threat match to earn a championship match at WWE Backlash. A rivalry renewed.@RandyOrton @JinderMahal #SDLive pic.twitter.com/t3FRWUbkum — WWE (@WWE) April 11, 2018 Backlash will the the first co-branded pay-per-view as WWE moves to doing that full-time. There has already been a match between Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe scheduled for Backlash. Last year, Orton and Mahal had a series of matches for the WWE Championship including the Punjabi Prison match at WWE Battleground. They also faced each other at Backlash in 2017. It should be considered that next week is the Superstar Shakeup and wrestlers will be changing brands and last year's Superstar Shakeup saw two champions change brand..

Video: WWE Music Fills the Streets of New Orleans

The band plays on. With less than three weeks before “Wrestlemania XXXIV”, it’s time for the WWE to take over New Orleans. While there’s a lot to Wrestlemania week, some of the coolest things that they do has nothing to do with the actual wrestling shows. There’s a lot of culture in New Orleans and that’s what we’re looking at today. This is just cool. [This post contains video, click to play] In a new video posted to WWE’s YouTube page, a brass band walks through some of New Orleans’ most famous landmarks playing various WWE themes. Some of the songs include John Cena, Bobby Roode, Triple H and Shinsuke Nakamura. At one point, the band is joined by New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu. Opinion: I love this kind of stuff. It really gives you a feeling that Wrestlemania is almost here and that’s an exciting time for any fan. Just knowing that we’re about to get to where we’ve been heading for the better part of a year is worth it. The music is cool too and it would get me very excite..

Change Made to “Wrestlemania” Title Match

There’s always room for one more. The United States Title has changed course quite a bit in recent months. After Dolph Ziggler vacated the title, Bobby Roode won it in a tournament. Then it was Randy Orton taking the title from him, leaving us with a rematch at “Wrestlemania XXXIV”. Things have changed again. Tensions seem to be rather high. [This post contains video, click to play] This week on “Smackdown Live”, it was announced that the match was now a triple threat match with Jinder Mahal also involved. Mahal has attacked both Orton and Roode in recent weeks and was added to the match before this week’s show went on the air. Mahal has never been United States Champion. You can read this week’s results here. Opinion: Why do we need to do this? Mahal adds very little to the match and is seemingly there just to get him on the show. I wasn’t impressed with Mahal during his title reign and I really don’t need to see him in this match. The match being a regular rematch for the tit..

New Title Match Announced for “Wrestlemania”

It worked once. Earlier this week at “Fastlane 2018”, Randy Orton won the United States Title for the first time in his career. Orton defeated Bobby Roode to win the title in a long match, but it was pretty clear that the feud wasn’t over quite yet. Now, we know where things are going next, or at least have a good idea of where they’re starting. Orton was back on “Smackdown Live” after winning the title. [This post contains video, click to play] This week on “Smackdown Live”, Roode announced that he would be cashing in his rematch clause to face Orton again at “Wrestlemania XXXIV”. Orton didn’t have a problem with this, but Jinder Mahal interrupted and defeated Roode in a singles match. After the match, Orton laid Mahal out with an RKO. You can read this week’s “Smackdown” results here. Opinion: I don’t think a triple threat match would be a big surprise at this point but at least there is now a storyline reason to put Mahal in the match. This has been the pretty clear end goal..

Title Changes Hands at “Fastlane 2018”

And now, it’s over. With “Fastlane 2018” out of the way, there’s nothing left for WWE to cover but the biggest show of the year with “Wrestlemania XXXIV”. Before we get there though, there was a pay per view that needed to be covered. The show did have at least one title change and that’s always important. Here’s a quick look at the match: [This post contains video, click to play] Tonight at “Fastlane 2018”, Bobby Roode lost the United States Title to Randy Orton. After nearly twenty minutes, Orton caught Roode coming off the top with an RKO for the clean pin and the title. After the match, Jinder Mahal attacked both men but Roode took out both he and Orton. This is Orton’s first reign as US Champion. You can see the full results right here. Opinion: While this seems to be leading to a triple threat match at “Wrestlemania”, the match itself was pretty fun with Orton and Roode showing good chemistry. Adding Mahal to the mix isn’t the most thrilling thing in the world but you kne..
