There Is An Explanation For Scarlett’s Absence From WWE TV

At least it’s a reason. WWE has made some interesting decisions when it comes to bringing up their wrestlers from NXT. It has not made a lot of sense a good bit of the time, as WWE seems to be out of their minds at times. However, that is not always the case as sometimes you will find out the reason behind WWE’s moves. That is the case this time around and it is some not so great news.
Back in July, NXT Champion Karrion Kross debuted on Monday Night Raw and immediately lost to Jeff Hardy. This was not the only bad thing for Kross, who was also missing his signature entrance but also his valet Scarlett. The two had been a regular pairing in NXT but now she was nowhere to be seen. Scarlett has yet to debut and is not in NXT either. There is a reason for that.
According to PWInsider Elite Audio, Scarlett is not cleared to appear on WWE television for reasons that are not clear. It is unknown if Scarlett has a medical issue or what is specifically wrong with her. There is no word on when..

Two For: Multiple Promotions Interested In The IIconics

As they should be. There have been all kinds of big name releases from the WWE roster over the course of the last year and a half and that means things are going to be shaken up around the wrestling world. While WWE’s roster has been depleted, other promotions are going to have some very impressive additions. Now we might be seeing some of those take place.
According to Fightful Select, Impact Wrestling is interested in bringing in Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay, formerly known as Peyton Royce and Billie Kay in WWE. There has not been a deal reached yet and it is not clear how far along negotiations have gone. The two have also drawn interest from another unnamed wrestling program which is due to debut in the fall. Both women were released from WWE in April of this year.
Whoever signs them is getting a treat. Check out the two of them in action:

NXT UK Results – August 19, 2021

NXT UK
Date: August 19, 2021
Location: BT Studios, London, England
Commentators: Andy Shepherd, Nigel McGuinness
It’s title week around here as Pretty Deadly is defending the Tag Team Titles against Moustache Mountain. That alone should be enough, but we also have Stevie Turner getting a Women’s Title shot against Meiko Satomura. Throw in the last push towards the UK Title match between Walter and Ilja Dragunov (in America) and we should be rolling this week. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Women’s Title: Stevie Turner vs. Meiko Satomura Satomura is defending and has Emilia McKenzie in her corner. Turner goes at her to start and is headlocked takeovered down in a hurry. Satomura grabs a double underhook and survives being driven into the corner. The arm cranking is on so Turner bails to the rope and kicks Satomura in the face over and over. A big kick to the face drops Satomura to one knee but she is back up with a running forearm in the corner.
The STF doesn’t go on and Turner ..

Impact Wrestling Results – August 12, 2021

Impact Wrestling
Date: August 12, 2021
Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee
Commentators: D’Lo Brown, Matt Striker
We’re on the way to Emergence and that should make for a good pay per view, as tends to be the case around here. Other than that, it is time to crown a new #1 contender and I’m curious to see where they go. Impact has a lot of choices available for the title shot at the moment and that is a good place to be. Let’s get to it.
The opening recap looks at AEW Dynamite, which set up Christian Cage vs. Kenny Omega for the Impact World Title tomorrow night on Rampage.
Opening sequence.
Tenille Dashwood vs. Taylor Wilde Dashwood has Kaleb With A K (in a neck brace) in her corner. Wilde works on the wrist to start and they trade a battle of wristlocks. Dashwood gets sent into the corner and grabs a frustrated headlock. That’s reversed into a hammerlock as the technical exchange continues. A headscissors sends Dashwood outside so Wilde tosses her back inside for a slam..

KB’s Review: The Most Summerslammiest Summerslam Match

It’s Summerslam week and due to the amount of Coronavirus pandemic messing with everything in the WWE’s world, it very well may be the biggest show of the year. This would not be the first time that Summerslam is (arguably) bigger than WrestleMania, this this time might be a little bit different. Saturday’s Summerslam may be the first time when the show is that big and also follows its own identity.
Something I have talked about before (ok probably several times) is the idea that Summerslam is the gimmickless of the major pay per views. The Royal Rumble is all about the Royal Rumble, Survivor Series is all about the elimination and WrestleMania is WrestleMania. That leaves Summerslam with pretty much nothing more than the fact that it is a major show which happens to take place in August.
This year’s card has no major gimmicks attached (you have one triple threat match and a match where the villain’s lackeys are barred from ringside, with the rest of the matches being straight single..

REVIEW: Invasion Of The Bodyslammers: Wrestling And Bowling

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Invasion of the Bodyslammers
Hosts: Lord Alfred Hayes, Slick
Commentators: Bobby Heenan, Jim Ross, Randy Savage
Oh how I love the WWE Network. Back in the day, I had this on tape and watched it so many times that I can probably tell you the commentary from memory. I’ve always wanted to review it but it’s kind of hard to find. Well either that or I’m too lazy to actually look it up. This is from early 1993 so don’t expect the best action in the world. Let’s get to it.
Hayes and Slick are in a bowling alley where S..

WOO? Ric Flair Comments On Alleged Sex Act Photo

It’s not his style. There are wrestling legends who have become stars around the industry and even have a bit of fame outside of it. Then there are names who are just a step above almost everyone else. Then there is Ric Flair, who has become something of a pop culture icon over both his personality and legendary status. Now though, he is having to deny being famous for something else.
On Wednesday, a photo of a man and a woman engaged in a sex act (which we will not be posting here) on a train began circulating online. Comments on the photo suggested that the man, whose face cannot be seen, is Flair. However, Flair himself commented on the photo, saying that it was not him on the grounds that he does not ride trains. Flair included a photoshopped photo of himself on the train from Dumbo.
I think we’ll move on to ANYTHING else. Check out some of Flair’s better, and less risque, moments:

Wrestling Legend’s Health Worse Than Originally Thought

That doesn’t sound good. The wrestling world has its history of success stories with people moving from great success in wrestling into retirement with a seemingly smooth transition. That kind of thing is great to see, but at the same time you have all kinds of things go in the opposite direction. Sometimes wrestlers have some major problems and this time we are seeing another sad story.
Earlier this month, wrestling legend Brian Knobbs has been hospitalized due to severe stomach issues with no word on how bad things actually are. Eric Bischoff discussed the situation on his 83 Weeks podcast, saying that the situation is more serious than has been made public. While Bischoff would not go into the specifics of what is wrong as they have not been made public, he said that Knobbs was in a bad situation. Bischoff also talked about his time knowing Knobbs in the AWA back in 1987 and asked fans to donate whatever they could to his GoFundMe.
Knobbs debuted in the AWA in 1985 as a singles wr..

Former WWE Star Reveals Broken Neck, Willing To Return To The Ring

Not so fast? There have been all kinds of wrestlers getting their walking papers from WWE over the last year and a half. The amount of names that have left WWE is almost hard to fathom and it can be easy to forget what some of the names have done after the wrestlers leave WWE. That was the case with several released names, but now one of them has said something a bit surprising.
Former NXT Champion and Raw Tag Team Champion Bo Dallas was a guest on a recent virtual signing with the Highspots Wrestling Network. During the signing, Dallas revealed that he broke his neck two years ago. The injury put Dallas out of action for about nine months, which was followed by the Coronavirus pandemic to make things even more complicated. Dallas did not specify when his injury occurred, but his most recent match took place on November 13, 2019. He also mentioned being willing to wrestle elsewhere. Dallas was released from WWE on April 20, 2020.
Dallas certainly had some success in WWE. Check out hi..

WWE Announces New Major Partnership For Podcast Network

It’s another way to go. WWE is the biggest wrestling promotion in the world and that means that they are going to be available in a lot of different ways. This includes all kinds of things other than just watching the wrestling product as WWE offers various other forms of media. One of WWE’s favorite things to do is talking about wrestling and now they are going to have something new.
WWE has announced a new partnership with the Ringer for an audio network on Spotify, which will now serve as the official home for WWE’s collection of podcasts. The Ringer will continue its own original podcasting, though some of it will be adjusted, including The Masked Man Show becoming the Ringer Wrestling Show. The first shows will begin broadcasting over Summerslam weekend.

VIDEO: WWE Takes A Special Look At John Cena Vs. Roman Reigns

It’s a different way of looking at things. We are less than three days away from Summerslam and the card is all but entirely set. Above all else, the show’s main event will feature Roman Reigns defending the Universal Title against John Cena. This is one of the biggest matches that WWE could offer and that means we could be in for a special night. Now WWE is looking at it in another way.
WWE has released a video looking at Cena vs. Reigns, breaking the match down with a look at both wrestlers. This includes their size, experience and various opponents the two have faced over their careers. There is also a look at their career accomplishments, including a comparison between the two. The video is similar to the annual Rumble By The Numbers video, used to break down the Royal Rumble.
This is going to be big. Check out the breakdown, plus both of them in action at Summerslam:

Wrestling Legend Making AEW In-Ring Debut At All Out

Welcome back. There are certain wrestlers who are going to get your attention for one reason or another. This might be something that jumps off the page to you the second you see them, which can often make guarantee them at least a shot for a long time. If they have something to back it up, they are going to be an even bigger star. That was on display this week.
This week on AEW Dynamite, Paul Wight, formerly known as the Big Show in WWE, announced that he would be facing QT Marshall at All Out on September 5. This will be Wight’s first match in AEW and his first match of any kind since July 2020. The match came about after Wight saved Tony Schiavone’s son from an attack at the hands of Marshall and the rest of the Nightmare Factory.
Wight made his AEW debut in February 2021 and has served as the color analyst on AEW Dark: Elevation. Since his debut, Wight has said that he planned to wrestle for AEW at some point in the future. Wight is a former seven time World Champion, winning Wor..
