AJ Lee Returning To Wrestling Business In Surprise Announcement

Welcome back. There are a lot of people involved in the wrestling industry every day but not everyone is going to stick around. Every now and then you see someone who has a strong career but then walks away from wrestling. That can leave a lot of people wondering what happened to them or if we will ever see them again. Now we will be seeing another former star again, albeit in a different role.
Wednesday night, WOW Women of Wrestling announced their return, which will take place in December with a new television show airing in syndication. According to the press release, by way of 411mania.com, former WWE Divas Champion AJ Mendez, formerly known as AJ Lee, will be an executive producer of the series, as well as providing color commentary on the weekly television show. There is nothing to suggest that Mendez will be wrestling again. This will be Mendez’s first involvement in the industry since leaving WWE in 2015.
Mendez was a heck of a star in WWE. Check out her time in the ring:

AEW Officially Signs Another Former WWE Star

Pen to paper. AEW has done a lot of good things since its inception less than three years ago. Possibly the most important thing, at least in the eyes of wrestlers, is offer a new place for talent to go. It has been missing for a long time now and AEW has filled a role. That is on display again, as another former WWE star has been signed to a contract with AEW.
Following this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, AEW has announced that Bobby Fish has signed with the company. This comes after Fish made his debut with the company, unsuccessfully challenging Sammy Guevara for the TNT Title. Fish’s signing was rumored since the match was announced, but nothing was ever officially confirmed until after this week’s show.

Former WWE Star Returns To The Company In New Role

He knows things. Wrestling is a unique business as you never know when someone will wrestle their last match. Unlike the more mainstream sports, a wrestler can pop back in for a quick appearance and then head back into retirement. It can be interesting to see what a wrestler does after their time in the ring is officially done though, and now we know what another one will be doing.
According to PWInsider.com, former WWE star Ken Doane has been been hired as a coach at the WWE Performance Center. Doane, who was also known as Kenny and Kenny Dykstra during his time in WWE, is a former Tag Team Champion who wrestled for WWE from 2006-2008, with a return in 2016. Doane, 35, announced his retirement from in-ring competition in April of this year.
You might not remember him. Check out his time in WWE:

LOOK: AEW Introduces Brand New Title, How It Will Be Awarded

Those things matter. Titles are one of the most important things you will see in wrestling as they let the fans know who are the best wrestlers in a promotion. Promotions have had titles for a good chunk of wrestling history and it means a lot when a new title is introduced. That was the case again this week and now we are in for one of the most tried and true ideas in wrestling.
AEW introduced a new title during this week’s edition of Dynamite with the TBS Title. The title is named after the TBS Network, where Dynamite will be moving on January 5, 2022. The new championship will be part of the women’s division and was rumored over the last few weeks. A tournament has been announced for the title but no brackets have been released so far.
This could be interesting. Check out some of the potential winners:

AEW Dynamite Results – October 6, 2021

Dynamite

Location: Liacouras Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Commentators: Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur
Believe it or not, there is a big match this week as it’s time for the return of the Casino Ladder Match. That means another Joker entry, which could be a nice surprise. Other than that, we slowly continue on the way to Full Gear, which is going to need some match announcements. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Super Elite vs. Christian Cage/Jungle Boy/Luchasaurus/Bryan Danielson That would be Kenny Omega/Adam Cole/Young Bucks. Jungle springboard armdrags Nick into a dropkick to start and then hands it off to Cage. Some right hands in the corner have Cole in trouble and it’s back to Jungle for a sliding kick to the face. Cole takes over on Jungle though and hands it back to Omega for a springboard elbow to the back. Jungle manages to crotch Nick on top and holds onto Matt’s arm while bouncing on the top to crotch Nick even more.

WATCH: New NXT Superstar Makes Surprise Debut

Nice to meet you? There have been a lot of changes made to NXT in recent months and there is a chance that they will continue moving forward. That can make for some interesting situations in NXT, as you never know who you might see show up next. That was the case this week, as a newcomer made his awaited debut, albeit under a bit of a different moniker.
This week on NXT, Joe Gacy defeated Ikemen Jiro in a singles match. After the match was over, Gacy started to walk back to the entrance but stopped to stare at at a man in the stands, who stared back at him. Gacy smiled before walking backstage. The man was named Harland and is better known as Parker Boudreaux, a former college football player who signed with NXT earlier this year. Boudreaux made a cameo appearance as a security guard in August but this was his first time receiving a focus.

WRESTLING RUMORS: Update On Backstage Changes To AEW Power Structure

What might not be? AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works and it has been in a good way. After so many years of pure WWE dominance, there has been a change in that we now have two large promotions rather than just one. A lot of that as been due to how the company has been put together, but it seems that there are some changes. They just might not be as impactful as previously thought.
Last week, news began to emerge that AEW’s Executive Vice Presidents (Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks) did not have as much authority as they had previously possessed, as Tony Khan had become the ultimate backstage authority. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, this has been the case since December 2019, though the Vice Presidents still have creative input, especially over their own angles and stories. Other top names such as Jon Moxley and Chris Jericho have input as well. No major changes have taken place in recent months, as the system is the same as it has been for nearly t..

VIDEO: Corey Graves Insults Monday Night Raw Star, Gets Odd Response

Maybe not? There are all kinds of people needed to make a wrestling show work and some of them are a lot more prominent than others. Some of those people are going to get more attention than others and some of them are only going to appear every now and then. One of each had a bit of an interaction this week and it did not exactly go as well as it could have.
Dana Brooke lost to Shayna Baszler this week on Monday Night Raw. During the match, broadcaster Corey Graves, referring to Brooke, spoke about how he was always willing to let wrestlers develop, but eventually you have to cut your losses. He went on to say that Brooke had all of the tools but had not put everything together yet. Brooke seemingly responded to Graves via Instagram stories, talking about how she would not respond to everyone and that you cannot throw rocks at every dog that is barking at you. There is no word on if this is the beginning of a storyline between the two.

Controversial Star Reportedly Returning To Wrestling Later This Week

She’s not done yet. There are a lot of wrestlers around the world and in today’s environment, it is nearly impossible to not see everyone at some point. This can work in both good or bad ways, as fans can see and remember a lot of things that are said and done. Now a wrestler with some controversy in her past is getting another chance ni the business.
According to Fightful Select, WOW Women of Wrestling is expected to announce a relaunch later this week, with Tessa Blanchard returning as well. The announcement, with Blanchard and another unnamed wrestler, is expected to take place on Wednesday. This comes over a year since Blanchard’s most recent match, as well as allegations of Blanchard using racial slurs against fellow wrestlers in Japan. Blanchard was stripped of the Impact Wrestling World Title in June 2020 and has only wrestled once since, with her most recent match taking place in September 2020.
You might need to get to know her again. Check out some of Blanchard’s time in Im..

NXT UK Gets Some Long Awaited Great News

Welcome back? The Coronavirus pandemic has changed the way the world works and wrestling is no exemption. The industry has been turned upside down and is only starting to get back to normal. One of the biggest changes has been due to the return of live fans, but not everyone has already returned. Now another promotion has gotten some good news in this area.
BT Sports Studios has announced via Instagram that fans will be allowed to return to NXT UK tapings starting on October 14. This will be the first time in eighteen months that fans have been allowed to appear in person at the tapings. It is not clear how many fans will be allowed to attend or when these shows will begin airing. WWE fans were allowed to return to live events in July.

Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Wade Barrett, Beth Phoenix, Vic Joseph
Things are starting to come together around here and that’s a good thing. Now, instead of bringing in a bunch of new people, we’re seeing those wrestlers getting to do something. The pieces that have been introduced are now being put into some stories and that’s a positive sign. Let’s get to it.
The opening video looks at the Tag Team Title situation. Tonight’s scheduled eight man tag has been changed into a four way for the titles.
Mandy Rose vs. Ember Moon The rest of Toxic Attraction is here with Mandy. Moon takes her down to start and Mandy bails to the floor, meaning it’s a suicide dive to take the team out. Back in and Mandy kicks away in the corner, setting up a bodyscissors. Moon fights up and slugs away, including a heck of a discus forearm. A middle rope Codebreaker drops Mandy again but Moon has to bail out of an Eclipse attempt. Mandy’s runn..

Halloween Havoc Returning With A Huge Main Event

It’s a special one. There are certain wrestling shows which are going to get your attention just because of how different they look. A good bit of their appeal is from how unique they are and the presentation can go a very long way. You don’t get to see as many of these today but sometimes they still pop up. We now have another one scheduled and it is an old favorite.
The return of Halloween Havoc was announced during this week’s edition of NXT. The show will air as a special version of NXT on October 26 and will mark the second year in a row NXT has presented the concept. NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa announced the show and said he needed a challenger, with Bron Breakker coming out to challenge for the title. The match was confirmed later in the show.
There have been some great moments in Halloween Havoc history. Check out some of the brighter parts:
