That is quite the honor. WWE women’s wrestling has come a long way in the last few years and a lot of that is due to the Women’s Revolution. After years of being treated as little more than a sideshow, women’s wrestling has become mainstream in the industry, with several female wrestlers becoming top stars in the company. Now one of the bigger names is getting some special recognition.
Pro Wrestling Illustrated has announced the top five names in their annual PWI Women’s 150. The list was topped by WWE’s Bianca Belair, who won the SmackDown Women’s Title in the main event of the first night of WrestleMania 37 and held the title until Summerslam. Here is the top five:

The fans came back last week and saw a classic with Ilja Dragunov successfully defending the United Kingdom Title against A-Kid. It did feel like something was changing around here and that is quite the upgrade as it just makes the show feel that much bigger. Hopefully they do that again this week so let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Xia Brookside vs. Aleah James Brookside cranks on the arm to start but neither can get very far. A headlock takeover puts James down but she reverses into a headscissors to keep Brookside in trouble. That’s finally reversed and it’s a seated abdominal stretch to put James in trouble. Back up and James fires off some kicks, only to get taken down with a running neckbreaker. The Iconoclasm is loaded up but James kicks her away and grabs a sunset flip for the pin at 4:17.

Crown Jewel 2021

After a year and a half away, WWE is returning to Saudi Arabia and the show is actually looking huge. For the first time in a very long while, we are seeing what looks to be a massive show with a lot going on. The main event is Roman Reigns defending the Universal Title against Brock Lesnar and that should be enough to carry just about anything. Let’s get to it.
Kickoff Show: Usos vs. Shelton Benjamin/Cedric Alexander Non-title and the fans are WAY behind the Usos to start. Jey and Alexander start things off with Jey grabbing a belly to back suplex for two. It’s off to Shelton, who powers Jey into the corner and then hands it straight back to Alexander for a knee to the face. The arm work begins, including a shoulder breaker on Jey, setting up an armbar. A superplex sends Jey crashing down for two and it’s back to Alexander for a Tequila S..

That could have been worse. Injuries are the kind of thing that can happen to anyone at any time and their impact can be devastating. You never know how bad something might be at the time, but luckily they often look worse than they actually are. That doesn’t make them any less scary at the time, which seems to be the case again with a recent scary situation.
This week’s NXT featured a triple threat match between Io Shirai, Persia Pirotta and Jacy Jayne. During the match, Jayne attempted a suicide dive but landed face first on the floor, forcing her out of the match. According to Wrestling Observer Live, Jayne underwent a full CT scan and did not suffer a concussion. She is currently still advertised for a triple threat tag team ladder match at Halloween Havoc next week.

Put her on the wait list? AEW has come a long way in a relatively short amount of time and most of that is due to their roster. The company has been very successful due to the mixture of talent that they have assembled, which continues to grow week by week. A lot of wrestlers want to be part of the company, but this time someone wants to borrow one of its top wrestlers.
In a new interview with Fightful, Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo said that she wants to team with AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker to challenge for the Impact Wrestling Knockouts Tag Team Titles. Purrazzo mentioned that she had spoken to Impact Wrestling and AEW executives Scott D’Amore and Tony Khan about making this happen. AEW regularly works with Impact Wrestling, including AEW’s Christian Cage, who is the reigning Impact Wrestling World Champion.

That’s different. The look is one of the most important aspects to a wrestler’s success. Ultimately, wrestling is a visual medium and the wrestlers need to make the fans want to watch. Whether it is in the arena or when someone is flipping through the channels, the idea is to make the fans pay attention. Now a WWE star is attempting to do that in another way.
Karrion Kross has tweeted out some photos showing him with a new look, including hair, a white shirt and black pants, along with another of him in a suit. This comes after rumors of Kross being repackaged into a “calm and cool” “psycho”. Of note, Kross’ fiance Scarlett Bordeaux is in one of the photos with him, though she has yet to debut with him on the main roster.

This week is a mixture of two fairly opposite things. First of all, I was out for my walk tonight with my music on and the theme from Friday Night Lights came on (excellent show if you’ve never seen it). That got me thinking about last Friday, when AEW and WWE went head to head (or at least close enough to it), giving us a bit of the old Monday Night Wars (on Friday, minus the war) vibe.
At the same time, my wife’s *CENSORED*th birthday is this coming Saturday, which had me thinking about the things that have happened over the course of her life. Since I can’t go that long without thinking about wrestling, I started to combine the two ideas and started wondering something: how many fans have never seen WWE with anything close to wrestling competition before?

I’d call it a dream match. The WWE Women’s Revolution has changed the way women’s wrestling works in a very good way. After so many years of having nothing to do, women were suddenly involved in long matches which were being treated as big deals. That was unthinkable not too long before but it has since become a reality. Now someone is planting the seeds for another huge match.
Sasha Banks appeared on this week’s edition of the Bump and called out WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus. The two faced off in the 2018 Royal Rumble, with Stratus mocking Belair’s signature dance before Banks eliminated her. While Stratus has announced her retirement from wrestling, she has said that she and Banks have unfinished business. There is currently no word on Stratus returning for a potential match.

We are on the way to Crown Jewel and this time around that means we are going to be seeing quite the stacked card. There are some rather big matches set for the show and this time around, something might actually happen. For once it feels like a major show that just happens to be taking place in Saudi Arabia, which has certainly not been the case for most of the shows over there. Let’s get to it.
Kickoff Show: Usos vs. Cedric Alexander/Shelton Benjamin Are they still the Hurt Business? Anyway, this was added the day before the show as a way to give us something to get the crowd going. That should be enough to warm up the crowd, though you never know what this kind of crowd is going to be at these things. If nothing else, this is a way to have the Usos around for the main event, as Roman Reigns might need some bodies to throw at Brock Lesnar.

That would be a surprise. WWE is currently in Saudi Arabia for this year’s Crown Jewel event. The show will be one of the biggest on WWE’s calendar and features one heck of a card. That should make for something very interesting and we could be in for quite the day. It can be fun to see who is going to show up and now we know someone else who will be around at the same time.
Photos and videos have circulated online of Undertaker appearing in Saudi Arabia this week, as he introduced Pitbull for a concert. Undertaker wore his ring gear for the appearance, though there is nothing to suggest that he will be appearing WWE Crown Jewel. The concert is part of the opening of Riyadh Season, a months long collection of concerts and other events, including Crown Jewel.

The more the better. WWE does a lot of things in a lot of areas but their biggest focus is on creating content. The company cranks out more material than any other wrestling promotion ever and it can be interesting to see what they come up with from time to time. That is the case again, as WWE has released a new series with a pair of episodes to kick things off.
WWE has released a new series on its YouTube channel called Build To, which will look at how the company reached certain events. The first two episodes will look at how the King of the Ring and Queen’s Crown tournament finals were set. Both tournament began in early October and will conclude this Thursday at Crown Jewel. There is no word on when any other episodes will air.

Opinion: This is one of those series that ..

That does not sound good. Wrestlers are a unique group of people as they are regularly on television, where they portray larger than life characters. This can make for some unique situations as it can occasionally be hard to determine where the characters end and where the real people begin. Unfortunately those people have their own share of problems as well, which was the case again this week.
Debra Duggan, the wife of wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Hacksaw Jim Duggan has posted a message to Facebook showing Jim in a hospital bed. The post reveals that Jim is undergoing emergency surgery, though there is no word on what is wrong with him. Duggan has a history of health problems, including heart issues as well as beating kidney cancer in the 1990s.
