VIDEO: AEW Star Suffers Terrifying Crash, Seems To Be Ok

That could have been horrible. No matter how skilled or trained a wrestler may be, there is always the chance that something could go wrong during a match. Anything from a mistake to a slip to some kind of an equipment malfunction could cause major problems and someone could get hurt as a mistake. Some of these can look a lot worse than others and that was the case this weekend.
This week’s AEW Dynamite featured a match between Lance Archer and Eddie Kingston. During the match, Archer attempted a moonsault but landed on top of his head. Archer rolled to the floor for a few moments before returning to the ring, where Kingston immediately rolled him up for the pin. Archer has since posted about the incident, saying “I’ll live! Thank ya Lord!” and talking about how he under rotated on the moonsault and it could have been much worse. He also thanked AEW for taking care of him and promised to be back.
I’ll live! Thank ya Lord!

WRESTLING RUMORS: Major Promotional Partnership Coming To An End

And so, it ends for AEW. The wrestling world has changed a lot in recent years and those changes are likely to continue for a long time to come. There have been a lot of shifts and moves throughout the industry and some of them have been very interesting. You have seen promotions working together more and more, but now one of those arrangements is coming to an end.
According to Ringsidenews.com, the working relationship between AEW and Impact Wrestling is scheduled to end after this weekend’s Bound For Glory pay per view. The two promotions have been sharing talent throughout the course of the year, with various AEW wrestlers appearing in Impact Wrestling and the Good Brothers and Don Callis appearing in AEW. There is no word on why the arrangement is ending and nothing to suggest any bad blood. AEW’s Christian Cage lost the Impact Wrestling World Title to Josh Alexander at Bound For Glory.
The partnership did some great things. Check out some of the collaborations:

Another Former WWE Star Appears On AEW Dynamite

Meet the new one. AEW has put together quite the roster over its history and part of that is due to bringing in new wrestlers here and there. Sometimes you need to add in some fresh blood, which is what AEW often does well. You can get those wrestlers from a variety of places and now it seems that they are at least interested in bringing in someone who used to wrestle elsewhere.
During this week’s AEW Dynamite, former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Tony Nese was shown sitting in the crowd multiple times and was acknowledged by commentary. There is no word on if Nese has signed with AEW or if he is scheduled to wrestle at any point in the future. Nese was released from his WWE contract in June of this year, ending a run with the company that began in 2016.
You might need a refresher. Check out some of Nese’s time in WWE:

AEW Dynamite Results – October 23, 2021

Dynamite
Date: October 23, 2021
Location: Addition Financial Arena, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Jim Ross, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone
It’s another tournament focused show as we continue the World Title Eliminator Tournament and begin the TBS Title Tournament. We are also less than a month away from Full Gear and that show is going to need some more attention sooner than later. The card is being set up, but it rarely feels like something that is receiving focus. AEW knows how to pull these things off though so let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
World Title Eliminator Tournament First Round: Bryan Danielson vs. Dustin Rhodes Feeling out process to start with Rhodes seeming to be a bit nervous to go after him. Danielson takes him down by the legs and ties them up in kind of an Indian deathlock. Back up and Rhodes hits the drop down uppercut but gets knocked to the floor, setting up the suicide dive.
Dustin is right back up with a flip dive off the apron and scores with a belly to bac..

Backstage Altercation Takes Place Between Charlotte And Becky Lynch

They don’t sound happy. There are a lot of wrestlers on the WWE roster today and it is not surprising that not all of them are going to get along. Sometimes you are going to see people who have some kind of an issue and it can lead to things getting a little more intense than they should. It seems that was the case this week backstage over something that took place on television.
The closing segment of this week’s SmackDown saw Charlotte and Becky Lynch exchange their respective Women’s Titles due to being drafted to other brands. However, according to PWInsider.com, the segment did not come off as planned. Charlotte had not liked the plan for the segment throughout the day, fearing that it would make her look weak.
During the segment, Charlotte dropped her title instead of handing it to Lynch. As a result, Lynch threw her own title at Charlotte before the segment ended as planned. This led to a backstage altercation between the two, as Lynch accused Charlotte of trying to make her l..

Great Health News On Two Wrestling Legends

That’s great to hear. Wrestlers are larger than life characters who are on our televisions almost every week, but there is another side to them that we rarely see. Aside from just their wrestling careers, they also have real lives outside of the ring and that can include having some problems. Two legends certainly did have some problems as of late, but things might be getting a bit better.
There is some good news on the health statuses of two wrestling legends. First, Jim Duggan has been released from the hospital following emergency surgery earlier this week. There is no word on what was wrong with Duggan in the first place, but he has sent out a message on Instagram, saying that he is going home to full recuperate after two nights in the hospital.
In addition, Brian Knobs of the Nasty Boys has posted a new message to Facebook, revealing that he has lost 60lbs while still in the hospital and continues to undergo rehabilitation. Knobs has been in the hospital since August with a vari..

Several Changes Coming To WWE Roster

Make sure you get it straight. We are finally ready to reach the new norm in WWE, as the new rosters from the WWE Draft are officially beginning as of this week’s SmackDown. That is going to mean a lot of changes in WWE, including new wrestlers appearing on both main television shows. Those are not going to be the only changes though and now we know a bit more about what to expect.
WWE will be making changes to several wrestlers following the 2021 Draft. According to PWInsider.com, the following changes will be made:
*Xia Li will be a babyface on Smackdown.
*Mia Yim is scheduled to be a babyface when she debuts on Raw.
*The current plan is for Shotzi Blackheart to be a heel on Smackdown now that she and Tegan Nox have been split.
*Nox will remain a babyface for the Raw brand.
*There’s been talk over the last week of shifting Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez into a tag team going forward.
*Hit Row’s Swerve Scott and Ashante Thee Adonis will be utilized as a tag team with Top Doll..

REVIEW: Monday Night Raw – December 29, 2003: The Texas Classic

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Monday Night Raw
Date: December 29, 2003
Location: SBC Arena, San Antonio, Texas
Attendance: 12,000
Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler
We’re FINALLY done with this terrible year with one last show and, of course, it’s focused on HHH, who is defending the World Title against Shawn Michaels in Shawn’s hometown. This will set some stuff up for the Royal Rumble, which is in about four weeks and has barely been discussed yet. Such is life in WWE, which is rarely up for capitalizing on the extra time that they have. L..

Another Olympic Medalist Interested In Joining WWE

He might be worth a look. Wrestling occupies a weird place in the sports world, as it is not considered a “real” sport, but the people involved are considered athletes. The people in a ring are going to be putting in some serious effort and that is something that is often recognized. However, there are several sports that are held in higher esteem, but now athletes from a different sport might want to try his hand, and foot, at wrestling.
Tareg Ali Hamedi, a silver medalist in karate in the 2021 Summer Olympics, appeared at WWE Crown Jewel and took out Mustafa Ali, following Ali’s loss to Mansoor. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Hamedi is interested in a career in wrestling as he was impressed by the WWE’s production. WWE would be interested in having a Saudi Arabian celebrity and sports star on its roster. There is no word on when Hamedi would be interested in signing with WWE, should he ever do so.
It was a big moment. Check out the save, the fallout, and some other..

Former World Champion Teases Return To The Ring This Weekend

Try it again. There have been a lot of wrestlers over the years but only a select group of them have ever reached the pinnacle of the business as the World Champion. There are multiple different World Titles throughout the industry and some wrestlers have been able to win titles from different promotions. Now one of those wrestlers might be making a return to the ring.
Former WWE and WCW World Champion Paul Wight appeared on the Brandon Kravitz Podcast and said that he might be getting in the ring for a match on this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite. There is no word on who Wight will be facing and AEW has not made an announcement. Wight has only wrestled twice for AEW, though Saturday would be the 26th anniversary of his in ring debut at Halloween Havoc 1995.
Wight has been a player in AEW. Check out his time there, plus his debut back in 1995:

WATCH: Brock Lesnar Suspended For Wrecking Havoc On SmackDown

That’s one way to get rid of him. Every so often, you see a wrestler who is just different from everyone else. It might be something physical that sets them apart, or perhaps something they say, but sometimes it is just their mere presence. That is the case with a certain current WWE star, though after this week, you might not be getting to see him again for the time being.
This week on WWE SmackDown, Brock Lesnar attacked Roman Reigns, along with various other production works with a camera being broken in the process. WWE executive Adam Pearce then suspended Lesnar indefinitely, which caused Lesnar to beat Pearce as well. This suspension is likely being used as the way to write Lesnar off of television as he is not a full time WWE star.
This won’t go well. Check out what happened, plus what happens when he gets angry:

WATCH: Two Titles Change Hands On WWE SmackDown

Two for one. Titles are about as simple of a concept as you are going to get in wrestling. Someone is wearing a belt and therefore they are (in theory at least) the best wrestler around. Someone else wants to take the title from them and a big match is set up as a result. That is how things have gone for but now we are seeing another way for titles to change hands.
This week’s edition of WWE SmackDown ended with SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte and Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte swapping their titles. This was done as the two have both been drafted from one show to another, meaning that both titles were on the opposite show. The same solution was used to change the SmackDown and Raw Tag Team Titles between the New Day and the Street Profits last year.
This was a bit strange. Check out the exchange, plus both champions in action:
