WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Legend Now A Free Agent

And so, it ends? Wrestlers are like any other kind of athlete, in that their career will eventually come to an end. What sets wrestling retirements apart from traditional sports is that a wrestler might be able to come back for a one off return whenever they feel like it, as there is no season to complete. Now another wrestler has completed their contract and might be retiring again.
According to Wrestlingnews.co, Goldberg’s loss against Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber was the last on his current contract, making him a free agent. At the moment, there is no word on what Goldberg’s plans are from here, though he could sign a new deal with WWE and return to the ring. Goldberg could also sign with another promotion, though it is not clear if he is interested in doing so.
Opinion: I’m not sure if Goldberg is going to be around anymore, but I really could go without him getting World Title shot after World Title shot. The idea wasn’t exactly interesting a few years ago and has gone do..

WWE Adds Major Stipulation To WrestleMania Main Event

It’s the big one. We are less than six weeks away from WrestleMania 38 and this year’s show is going to take place inside AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. That means the company is going to need as big of a main event as possible to sell that many tickets and now they have their biggest match set. This time though, it is going to be even bigger than you might have expected.
This weekend, Brock Lesnar won the WWE Title at Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia. As a result of his Royal Rumble match win, Lesnar is already set to challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Title at WrestleMania. WWE has now confirmed that the Reigns vs. Lesnar match will be Winner Take All, with both titles on the line. However, there is no word on if the titles will be unified.
Opinion: I would certainly hope that the titles remain separate, as WWE has already gone out of their way to make Lesnar and Reigns feel like they are above everyone else. At some point you need someone else to have a chance at being a Wor..

AEW Star Suffered An Eye Injury This Week On Dynamite

Hopefully it isn’t too bad. There are all kinds of injuries that take place in the wrestling world and some of them can be quite serious. One of the biggest problems is that you never know when someone is going to get hurt or how bad it is going to be. That seemed to be the case earlier this week and it was a situation that could have been a lot worse than it wound up being.
AEW TNT Champion Sammy Guevara has revealed that he suffered a scratched cornea during his successful title defense against Darby Allin this week on Dynamite. Guevara said that he was unable to open his eyes until Saturday after Wednesday’s title defense, when he finished the match without incident. There is nothing to suggest that Guevara will be missing any time from the ring as a result of his injury.
Finally able to open my eyes I suffered a scratched cornea on Wednesday.
All respect to Darby, We came into this company with everything to prove & in 3 years we have shown that we not only belong but we are thi..

Backstage Reason For A Strange Elimination Chamber Result

All that way for nothing? Over the weekend, WWE presented its annual Elimination Chamber event, but this year’s edition was a bit different. This year’s show took place in Saudi Arabia for the first time ever, which is quite the change of scenery. While the shows are huge, they also require quite the effort, including a twenty hour flight for the wrestlers. That made a decision made at the show seem a bit odd.
The scheduled SmackDown Tag Team Title match between the Usos, defending, and the Viking Raiders did not take place as the Usos jumped the Raiders before the bell and laid them out. According to Fightful Select, this was always the plan for the match and nothing had been changed due to time. The match is still scheduled to take place at some time in the future, likely on an episode of SmackDown.
Opinion: That’s quite the strange way to go, as the Raiders literally flew twenty hours one way for the sake of coming to ringside and getting beaten up before heading back home. The sa..

Bobby Lashley Reportedly Injured, WrestleMania Status Uncertain

That could be terrible. There are all kinds of stars in WWE but only a handful of them are near the top of the card. The very few that make it to the top are among the bigger names in wrestling today and WWE needs them to be the faces of the company. Sometimes those faces can be taken away for awhile for one reason or another though and that seems to be the case again.
This weekend at Elimination Chamber, Bobby Lashley defended the WWE Title inside the Elimination Chamber but was never officially involved in the match. Instead, Lashley was taken out after Austin Theory was thrown into his pod, with the official explanation being that Lashley had suffered a concussion. However, as reported by former WWE writer Kazeem Famuyide via an interview with The Ringer and later confirmed by PWInsider.com, Lashley has suffered a shoulder injury and will be getting it looked at this week. There is no word on the extent of Lashley’s injury or how long he could be out.
Opinion: That does not sound ..

The Miz Is Probably Going To Have A Celebrity Tag Partner

That would be a way to go. Celebrities have long since been a staple of WrestleMania, with the first edition featuring all kinds of them. There is a certain logic to it, as it can be interesting to see these people from outside the wrestling bubble come into the world and see what happens. Sometimes the celebrities even get into the ring and that seems likely to be the case again this year.
The Kickoff Show match at WWE Elimination Chamber saw Rey Mysterio defeat the Miz. After the match, Mysterio and his son Dominik attacked Miz again. Later in the show, Miz promised that he was going to find a partner to deal with the Mysterios for good and left to make a phone call. According to PWInsider.com, Miz’s partner is likely to be YouTube celebrity Logan Paul, who has worked with WWE before, including an appearance at last year’s WrestleMania.
Opinion: It’s a bit disappointing but Miz going the celebrity route does make the most sense. That ties in well with his Hollywood A-Lister deal, e..

New WWE Champion Crowned At Elimination Chamber, WrestleMania Main Event Set

He did it again. With about six weeks to go until WrestleMania 38, it is time to really start hammering the card home. That can be easier said than done, but there is still time to get the show ready. That includes getting the title matches ready, including both of the men’s World Title showdowns. Now it seems that we have another match set for the biggest shows of the year.
This weekend, Brock Lesnar won the WWE Title inside the men’s Elimination Chamber at the event of the same name. Lesnar last eliminated Austin Theory to win the title, after reigning champion Bobby Lashley was injured during the match and never officially entered. This sets up Lesnar, the men’s Royal Rumble winner, for a champion vs. champion match with Universal Champion Roman Reigns, though it is not clear if one or both titles will be on the line.
Opinion: The Lashley aspect does give them an out, but I’m almost scared to see how the title match goes. WWE has not done the best job of building up extra people o..

Another WrestleMania 38 Title Match Is Set

Add it to the card. We are six weeks away from WrestleMania 38 and that means WWE is starting to set things up for the show. WWE has a lot of time to fill in for the show, but they do already have some of the bigger matches set up. There are still some major title matches and main events to be set up, but now it seems that they have another important part of the card covered.
This weekend at WWE Elimination Chamber, Bianca Belair won the women’s Elimination Chamber match, earning the right to challenge for the Raw Women’s Title at WrestleMania. Later in the show, Becky Lynch retained the Raw Women’s Title, setting up a rematch with Belair. Lynch returned at Summerslam and took the title from Belair in an impromptu match in less than thirty seconds.
Opinion: This is the logical way to go as Belair has unfinished business with Lynch from Summerslam. That is something that we should be getting on the big stage and Belair getting her win and title back would be a good way to go. Belair i..

Elimination Chamber 2022 Live Coverage And Results

Elimination Chamber 2022
Date: February 19, 2022
Location: Jeddah Super Dome, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Pat McAfee, Byron Saxton, Jimmy Smith
We’re back on the other side of the world this time and the card is pretty stacked. There are two Elimination Chamber matches to go with three women’s matches as we get ready for Wrestlemania. That could go in more than one direction and the show seems a bit more interesting as a result. Let’s get to it.
Kickoff Show: Miz vs. Rey Mysterio Dominik Mysterio is here with Rey. Miz knocks him down to start and hits the early posing on the ropes. Back up and Rey headscissors him into 619 position but Miz isn’t quite ready for that. Instead Rey knocks him to the floor for the sliding splash, setting off a 619 chant. Dominik sends Miz back inside but he breaks up something from Rey on the top. They head outside again with Miz sending him into the barricade, setting up the running kick to the face back inside.
The c..

Elimination Chamber 2022 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

It’s time to head back halfway around the world as WWE is returning to Saudi Arabia. This time is a little different though, as the show will feature the Elimination Chamber rather than some generically titles event. The card could look a lot worse as there are three women’s matches and two Elimination Chamber matches, including one match where those two categories cross over. Let’s get to it.
Miz vs. Rey Mysterio We’ll start with the match voted Most Likely To Be Demoted To The Kickoff Show as these two are fighting over Miz’s treatment of Dominik Mysterio. Yeah that’s a pretty lame reason to have the match but that has never stopped WWE from setting something up. This feels like a feud that has some legs to it and hopefully that could be a good thing, though it kind of hinges on the first match.
I’ll take Miz to win here, as it should give you a reason to get to Miz vs. Dominik. That might not be the most interesting match but it is something that we have to do at some point. WWE s..

REVIEW: Unforgiven 2007: Guess Who’s Back (Again)

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?

Attendance: 12,000

We’re in that weird period where we have a lot of Summerslam rematches and some of them are a bit more interesting than others. There are a few interesting possibilities though, as Undertaker is returning to face Mark Henry and Randy Orton is getting another WWE Title shot at a furious John Cena. Let’s get to it.
The opening video..

Important Return Updates On Two Injured WWE Stars

Welcome back. There are a lot of reasons why a wrestler might miss time from the ring and some of them are a lot more serious than others. You never know when you might see someone be put out of action for a long time and that was the case for a pair of prominent WWE stars when they went on the shelf with injuries. Now we have a better time table for their returns.
According to PWInsider, both Bayley and Asuka are expected to return to WWE within the next month and a half. Asuka is expected to return by the end of February, though it is not entirely certain that she will be cleared in time. She has been out of action since July following shoulder surgery. As for Bayley, she is expected to return in late March after tearing her ACL. She has not wrestled since June after undergoing surgery.
Opinion: That’s some very good news and I’m glad to hear that both of them will be back sooner rather than later. Both women’s divisions could use a boost and these two could certainly provide one. ..
