WWE Rebranding Even More Upcoming Events

That’s what’s in a name. WWE has been around for a long time now and has some very long running shows. Some of these are among the most famous in wrestling, with names such as WrestleMania and Royal Rumble being near or at the top of the list. The company continues to add some more though, and now they are doing just that with a show a lot of people will probably never see.
Ticketmaster.com is currently advertising the May 1 live event in Fairfax, Virginia as Sunday Stunner, which is a name the company trademarked earlier this month. This is likely to be the name of several Sunday night live events going forward. The change comes just after WWE began promoting some of its Saturday shows as Saturday Night’s Main Event, though neither change has been announced on WWE television.
Opinion: Sure why not. This is one of those changes that likely won’t mean anything significant and is little more than a branding, but it does at least sound like something interesting. I could go for having s..

Star Power: Celebrity Tag Match Set For WrestleMania 38

Tis the season. WrestleMania 38 is less than six weeks away and you can see a lot of the card coming together from here. That is a good sign, as WWE should be able to get the show ready as far as possible. It is one of the better things that they can do and it helps to bring in some special names. WWE seems to be doing just that and now someone famous for something other than wrestling is ready to get in the ring.
This week on Monday Night Raw, the Miz introduced YouTube celebrity and boxer Logan Paul as his mystery partner for a match against the Mysterios at WrestleMania 38. Paul appeared on an edition of MizTV and helped Miz lay the Mysterios out. WrestleMania 38 will mark Paul’s first match in WWE after several appearances with the company, including WrestleMania 37 last year.
Opinion: I know Paul might not be the biggest name in the world but he has a bit of buzz due to his social media presence and boxing matches. He also feels like someone Miz would associate with outside of t..

Surprise Cameo And Return Take Place On Monday Night Raw

Welcome back and hello. WWE has so many wrestlers under contract that it has managed to split its roster into several groups. The main three are Monday Night Raw, SmackDown and NXT, each with its own main group of wrestlers. You will see some crossover between Monday Night Raw and SmackDown, but a one off appearance is rare. This time though, we might have seen just that, plus a surprise return.
This week on Monday Night Raw, NXT’s Tommaso Ciampa wrestled in a tag match, teaming with the returning Finn Balor to defeat Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler. Ciampa is currently scheduled to face Ziggler in an NXT Title #1 contenders match this week on NXT. The match was Balor’s first since the January 17 Monday Night Raw, when he was defeated and attacked by Austin Theory.
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that can make for a cool moment, as seeing an NXT star on one of the major TV shows is a rare sight. It helps that it wasn’t some major tweak to Ciampa, but rather just the NXT version of ..

With Elimination Chamber out of the way, it is time to start making the final preparations for Wrestlemania. We now even know the main event (or one of them at least) as new WWE Champion Brock Lesnar will face Universal Champion Roman Reigns, winner take all. They might want to work on finding anything else that matters somewhere in there. Let’s get to it.
Long Elimination Chamber recap.
Here is the new WWE Champion Brock Lesnar to get things going and the fans seem rather happy to see him. After thanking the fans, Lesnar is cut off by Paul Heyman, whose signature line is cut off almost immediately. Heyman manages to say that he represents the one true champion around here and says Lesnar might not get to Wrestlemania as champion.
Lesnar still has to defend the title at Madison Square Garden on March 5 against Bobby Lashley, but if L..

CM Punk Receives Very Special Honor From Another Promotion

I would say he has earned it. There are certain wrestlers who get your attention no matter what they do or where they do it through pure talent. A wrestler with a lot of charisma can make a very big impact and that is the case with a handful of stars today. Now one of them is being honored for something that they did a long time ago, which had a major role in what they are doing today.
Ring of Honor has announced that CM Punk will be the final inductee into the company’s inaugural Hall of Fame class. Punk joins the Briscoes, Bryan Danielson and Samoa Joe as the first class of inductees. Punk wrestled for Ring of Honor from 2002-2006, winning the World Title once and Tag Team Title twice. He made a cameo appearance in a pre-taped message at Final Battle in December 2021.
Opinion: This is a pretty easy layup for the Hall of Fame and Punk certainly deserves the honor. He is one of the names that put Ring of Honor on the map and certainly seems to appreciate his time there. It is nice to..

WRESTLING RUMORS: Former WWE Star Returning To The Company For A Short Term Stint

He has the experience. WWE is a huge wrestling company and as a result they have a lot of resources that other promotions simply do not have. One such resource is the Performance Center, which serves as the company’s training facility. The Performance Center features all kinds of equipment, but also some very talented coaches. Now another former WWE star is back there for a limited time.
According to PWInsider.com by way of Wrestlingnews.co, former WWE star and NWA World Champion Rob Conway is serving as a guest coach at the WWE Performance Center this week. Conway is a former multiple time WWE Tag Team and NWA World Heavyweight Champion and has coached at the Performance Center multiple times before. It is not clear if he will be coaching permanently.
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that WWE does from time to time and it makes things all the more interesting. Conway is someone who has been an experienced wrestler around the world and it is smart to bring in some extra people to s..

NXT LVL Up Results – February 18, 2022 (Debut Episode)

NXT LVL Up
Date: February 18, 2022
Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Sudu Shah, Nigel McGuinness
It’s a new show, which seems likely to be a fresh coat of pain with a new name for what 205 Live has been for the last several months. That does not exactly get my attention going, but 205 Live has been decent enough recently. Granted some of that was due to how short the show has been and that might be changing. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Here are Joe Gacy and Harland for a chat. Gacy says that he told us he was an agent of change and now everyone is welcome around here. That’s why Harland will be in the first match on this show.
Harland vs. Javier Bernal Harland hammers him in the corner and tosses him right back out of it. Bernal’s face is rammed into the mat over and over but he comes back with forearms and a dropkick. That’s broken up with no trouble and a belly to back slam (ala John Cena’s finishing sequence) gives Harland the pin at 2:04…

Impact Wrestling Results – February 17, 2022

Impact Wrestling
Date: February 17, 2022
Location: Charles Dodge Center, Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan
It’s the go home show for No Surrender and the show is looking good. We have a double main event of W. Morrissey challenging Moose for the World Title, plus Honor No More fighting Team Impact to stick around the company. There is enough other good stuff here to make me interested in the show so let’s get to it.
Opening recap.
Here is Moose for the No Surrender contract signing. Scott D’Amore is in the ring but before W. Morrissey comes out, Moose explains what a contract signing means. There is no Morrissey for some reason, but D’Amore says Morrissey can sign the contract any time in the next two days.
Moose isn’t happy, but if Morrissey makes the match, pain is waiting on him. He signs and then goes to leave, where Morrissey jumps him on the ramp. The fight is on and Moose gets chokeslammed off the stage and through a well placed table. Now..

WWE Planning Very Special Event For Later This Year

It’s something that should work. WWE has been around for a very long time now and is by far the biggest and most powerful wrestling promotion in the world. As successful as they have been though, there is always room for some improvement. There are always new places for WWE to make inroads and it seems that they are going to try to do that again later this year.
According to PWInsider.com, WWE is planning to hold a stadium show in the United Kingdom over Labor Day weekend (September 3-5) though there are no specific details at the moment. WWE has not held a stadium event in the United Kingdom since Summerslam 1992, though they have presented Monday Night Raw and SmackDown from the country regularly over the years.
Opinion: This is something that WWE has talked about doing for a long time now and I’m curious about how it will actually go. WWE knows how to make something like this work and it should be interesting to see how they put everything together. There has not been such a show ..

WATCH: Biker Undertaker Makes Special Appearance Over The Weekend

It’s a family thing. Celebrities have long since been a part of wrestling and it can be quite the nice bonus. Sometimes those celebrities even get in the ring to see what they can do and no rare occasions, it can be quite the success. Those are some of the more impressive things you will see in wrestling and in a recent case, it seems that an all time wrestling legend wants to repay the favor.
The Undertaker appeared at a Bad Bunny concert in Dallas, Texas over the weekend. Undertaker appeared in his American Bad*** persona and rode a motorcycle to the Kid Rock song of the same name to salute Bad Bunny in the middle of a song. After the appearance, Undertaker rode away. Bad Bunny has appeared multiple times for WWE over the last year and a half, including winning a tag team match at WrestleMania 37 and appearing in this year’s men’s Royal Rumble match.
This was pretty awesome. Check out Undertaker’s show of respect:

Backstage News On Bobby Lashley’s Possible Injury

They didn’t tell us. Injuries are one of the few constants in wrestling and you never know when you are going to see one take place. The difference in wrestling is that a wrestler could continue to appear without actually having a match and the audience might not know something is wrong. It seems that was the case in a high profile WWE case, which led to a surprise moment.
Earlier this weekend, WWE Champion Bobby Lashley was scheduled to defend his title inside the Elimination Chamber at the event of the same name. However, he never made it into the match, reportedly due to a shoulder injury, which may keep him out of action for several months. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE likely knew about the injury for several weeks, meaning they knew Lashley would not be in the Elimination Chamber match. There is no word on when Lashley was injured or when he will be able to return to the ring.
Opinion: This isn’t exactly something new from WWE, though it is rather a..

As Only He Could: Brock Lesnar Went Off Script At WWE Elimination Chamber

That’s not normal. This weekend, WWE presented its annual Elimination Chamber event, featuring two of the show’s namesake matches. The show was headlined by the men’s Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship, with Brock Lesnar being crowned the new champion. That part might not be the biggest surprise, but there was one part that did not go according to plan.
Bobby Lashley came into the men’s Elimination Chamber match as the reigning WWE Champion but was taken out of the match due to an injury before he ever entered. As a result, he was unable to participate when his scheduled entry took place. Instead, Lesnar kicked through his pod door and entered the match early. According to PWInsider.com, this was not a planned spot and Lesnar legitimately broke the Plexiglas in his pod door.
Opinion: Lesnar is a scary human being and that is the kind of thing that only he could do. He literally kicked through a pod window and broke into the Elimination Chamber on the spur of the momen..
