Commentators: Tony Schiavone, Jim Ross, Excalibur
We’re fresh off of Revolution and that means it is time to start setting up some new things going forward. We have about two and a half months before Double Or Nothing though and that means we are probably going to need some smaller stories to bridge the gap. Those could start this week so let’s get to it.

Ring Of Honor TV Results – March 2, 2022

Ring Of Honor
Date: March 2, 2022
We have one more Hall of Fame special here and this time we are looking at CM Punk. This is one of the big ones as Punk played such a role in putting Ring of Honor on the map. Between his feuds with Raven and Samoa Joe, plus the Summer of Punk, there is a lot to pick from here and that makes things all the more fun. Let’s get to it.
We open with Punk’s Hall of Fame video, including a look at straightedge, plus the highlights of his Ring of Honor career.
From Death Before Dishonor III on June 18, 2005.
Ring of Honor World Title: CM Punk vs. Austin Aries Aries is defending and drives Punk up against the ropes off a lockup. With that not going anywhere, they fight over a series of standing switches until Punk backs him into the corner for a break. Aries is back up with a middle rope elbow to the face before grinding away on a headlock. Punk reverses to a headscissors to work on Aries’ bad neck, allowing commentary to talk about all of the great things..

KB’s Review: The WrestleMania Dead End

As you can tell by watching any WWE show these days (or by knowing your WWE calendar), it is WrestleMania season as we are less than a month away from the biggest show (Or is it shows now?) of the year. WWE knows how to make these things feel special once you get there, as there is really nothing like it in all of wrestling. That being said, there are more than a few things on the Road To WrestleMania that might leave you a bit confused and that was on full display this week.
The last few editions of Monday Night Raw have featured some version of one of the most annoying concepts in all of WWE: the path to WrestleMania. While WWE has the Road To WrestleMania, we also get to hear about wrestlers’ individual paths to the show, meaning they need a way to guarantee that they will have a spot on the WrestleMania card (er, cards). This is something that makes sense in theory, but there is one problem with the idea: it stops making any sense if you think about the concept for more than 2.4 s..

Here’s (Probably) Why Steve Austin Isn’t Wrestling Again

He wasn’t pleased. With WrestleMania 38 taking place in the massive AT&T Stadium over two nights, WWE is going to need everything they can find to make the show work. That is going to be easier said than done, as any company would have trouble coming up with something big enough to fill in a stadium on back to back days. WWE seemed to have an idea, but it didn’t wind up going through. Now we might know why.
During the latest edition of his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross discussed Steve Austin’s possible return to the ring at WrestleMania 38. Ross said that he had spoken to Austin, saying that Austin did not sound overwhelmingly enthusiastic about the idea. While Ross did not know for sure what Austin would do, he did not thing Austin would return to the ring as Austin is too much of a perfectionist to wrestle again on such short notice. Austin has agreed to appear at WrestleMania, but as a guest on the Kevin Owens Show rather than having an official match.
Here are some of Ross’ comme..

New Update On Cody Rhodes’ Wrestling Future

He’s one of the hot topics. Wrestlers move around from one promotion to another fairly frequently and it can be rather interesting when you see someone show up. There are times where it is a surprise but often the news leaks out in advance. The current situation is somewhere in between, but now we might be waiting even longer than we had expected to have to.
Earlier this year, Cody Rhodes unexpectedly left AEW, despite being an Executive Vice President with the company. According to Fightful Select, Rhodes is aware of the discussions around his future but he has been hoping to cool down the rumors about where he is going. WWE has not been specifically told that he is coming in and there is “uncertainty” about it in WWE creative. It is not clear when Rhodes will announce his future plans.
Opinion: I’m not sure what Rhodes is going to do, but I’m also not sure how much buzz he is going to be able to maintain. Rhodes was a star in AEW, but he wasn’t exactly popular when he left. Maybe t..

AEW Made Several Changes To Revolution Title Match Ending

You need to get it right. Most wrestling shows air once a week, which is often enough to keep their storylines moving forward. In theory, those shows are designed to build up to another show down the line which is big enough that people will pay to see it. That is still how wrestling works today and in theory, a promotion is going to give you their best results possible. That might take some effort, and that was the case last weekend.
Earlier this month, AEW presented its annual Revolution pay per view. One of the matches on the card featured AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker retaining the title over Thunder Rosa. According to Fightful Select, the ending of the match, which ultimately saw Baker win after interfered, was changed several times throughout the week. There is no word on why the changes were made, but AEW seems to be setting up a rematch between the two on March 16 in Rosa’s hometown of San Antonio.
Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise, but it isn’t something you often ..

NXT Is Getting A New Star Next Week (Kind Of)

Welcome to the team. NXT has been shaken up multiple times in recent months and those changes have had quite the impact on the promotion. Rather than a third WWE brand, NXT is now back to being much more of a developmental promotion and that has included several changes to the roster. NXT still has some very talented wrestlers and now another one is on his way there.
This week on NXT, an announcement was made that NXT UK’s A-Kid would be making his NXT debut next week. There is no word on if this is a one off appearance or a permanent move. A-Kid is the first ever Spanish born WWE star and was the first ever NXT UK Heritage Cup winner, holding the cup for a record 174 days. No announcement was made about what A-Kid will be doing on next week’s show.
Opinion: This is a nice surprise as A-Kid has been one of the better things about NXT UK since he debuted. A-Kid is someone who can wrestle a good match against just about anyone, which is more than you would expect from someone with his ..

Wrestling Legend Confirms She Is Retired From The Ring

It was great while it lasted. There have been countless wrestlers over the years but only a small handful of them reach legendary status. Those wrestlers are some of the greatest of all time and you will occasionally be lucky enough to see them in the ring after reaching such a high level. That is the case with a few names today, but one of them will not be getting back in the ring.
Impact Wrestling Hall of Famer and former WWE Women’s Champion Gail Kim appeared on Busted Open Radio and confirmed that she will not be returning to the ring and is officially retired. Kim cited a variety of health reasons, including not wanting to risk her back or memory getting worse. Kim is currently a producer and on air authority figure for Impact Wrestling. Her final match took place at Rebellion 2019 against Tessa Blanchard.
Opinion: If this is what Kim wants to do and she is happy with the decision, then good for her. She is someone who has had an absolute Hall of Fame career and has nothing left..

WWE Might Not Show All Of This Year’s Hall Of Fame Inductions

There is more to it than that. WrestleMania 38 is less than a month away and that means WWE is probably ready to announce just about everything they have scheduled for the weekend. That makes for some exciting times and announcements, including some things that have nothing to do with WrestleMania itself. However, there are going to be a few things announced that you might not be seeing.
This year’s WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be taking place after the April 1 SmackDown. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, some of the inductions into the WWE Hall of Fame will only take place digitally, meaning they will not all appear on the Peacock broadcast. The omissions will be due to WWE wanting Undertaker’s induction to be a huge event and the broadcast only lasting ninety minutes. So far, only Undertaker and Vader have been confirmed for this year’s class, though a third name has been rumored.
Opinion: I’m not surprised that this is the case, but it does make the Hall of Fame s..

WATCH: “Stone Cold” Steve Austin Answers Kevin Owens

And that’s the bottom line. Earlier this week, Kevin Owens invited “Stone Cold” Steve Austin to be a guest on a special edition of the “KO Show” at WrestleMania 38. It would appear that The Rattlesnake has given his response.
WWE has released the following video, indicating that Austin has accepted Owens’ offer and will see him in Dallas, Texas on the Grandest Stage of them all. You can see the video below:

From WWE.com:
Still reeling after he and Seth Rollins lost in their Raw Tag Team Title Triple Threat Match earlier in the evening on the March 7 edition of Raw, a defiant Owens reemerged before the WWE Universe with an epiphany. Owens called out “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and shared his desire to deliver a Stunner the world would never forget to the WWE Hall of Famer, whom he called a “broken-down shell of his former self.”
In response to Owens, “Stone Cold” released a video the following day from his beloved Texas and declared that he..

Huge Title Change Takes Place This Week On NXT

History has been made! There are so many wrestlers in WWE today that it can be difficult to find something for all of them to do. WWE already has wrestlers on two different rosters and that isn’t even considering NXT. That makes things even more complicated as NXT is the official WWE developmental system. Sometimes you see some crossover between the rosters, and that was the case in a big way this week.
Dolph Ziggler won the NXT Title this week in a triple threat match over defending champion Bron Breakker and Tommaso Ciampa. This is Ziggler’s first NXT Title win and came in his first title shot. Ziggler has been feuding with Breakker and Ciampa over the title in recent weeks. While not confirmed, it is expected that Ziggler will defend the title at Stand & Deliver on April 2 against an opponent to be named.
Opinion: This is something that is rather surprising but is a smart move overall. Odds are this leads to Breakker getting his rematch at Stand & Deliver and getting his title bac..

WATCH: The Rock vs. John Cena From WrestleMania 29

The redemption story. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube page in which they show the full match between The Rock and John Cena for the WWE Championship from WrestleMania 29.
You can see the video in its entirety below:
[This post contains video, click to play]

From WWE.com:
As their battle progressed, the two Superstars abandoned all pretenses and cued up the heavy artillery, tossing signature maneuvers at each other in the hopes of keeping the other down. For a moment, it seemed like Cena had the advantage again when Rock nearly fell victim to the same hubris as his opponent last year, attempting Cena’s Five Knuckle Shuffle and running straight into Cena’s waiting arms for an AA. The Cenation leader later used the same history to his advantage when he suckered Rock into another AA after faking him out with a façade of the same People’s Elbow endeavor that cost him the bout last year.
Victory would not come so easily at the cost of The People’s Champion, though, and the ba..
