Dynamite Date: October 18, 2022 Location: Heritage Bank Center, Cincinnati, Ohio Commentators: Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Taz We’re here for a big show as there are several titles on the line. The main event will see Jon Moxley defending the World Title against Hangman Page, with MJF hanging over their heads. The Trios Titles and the Interim Women’s Title are on the line too as the card is rather stacked. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Trios Titles: Death Triangle vs. Best Friends/Orange Cassidy Death Triangle is defending. Trent shoulders Pac down to start and they trade some jumps until Trent hits a clothesline. Everything breaks down and Fenix hits a heck of a Swanton for two on Chuck, who is back up to toss Fenix into something like a spear. The Friends’ triple splash is broken up and Death Triangle hit the stereo running flip dives to the floor. We settle down to Pac kicking Cassidy in the back of the head and Fenix taking him into the corner as we take a break. Back with ..

Special Hometown Moment Takes Place After AEW Dynamite

October 19, 2022 • Admin

They’re not done yet. A major wrestling television taping can include all kinds of things in a given night. Some of them are more interesting than others, but there is something special about seeing something that is going to be aired on national, if not international, television. Sometimes though, you even get something that didn’t air on TV and that can be all the better. That was the case again this week. Following this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite in Cincinnati, Ohio, the Blackpool Combat Club came to the ring to celebrate with Jon Moxley, who told people to say a prayer for the injured Hangman Page. This brought out Ryan Nemeth, who Moxley referred to as Dolph Ziggler (Nemeth’s brother), before the Club beat Nemeth up for mocking Cincinnati. Moxley thanked the fans and talked about growing up in Cincinnati, albeit with some microphone issues. After his speech, Moxley talked to a security guard and asked for his thoughts on the Heritage Bank Arena sound system. Moxley put him i..

Main Event Officially Set For AEW Full Gear After Huge Challenge

October 19, 2022 • Admin

They’re on top of it. Titles are the most important things in wrestling as they are such an easy concept. Fans are going to understand what they are seeing as soon as they see a wrestler holding a championship and winning one can make all the difference in the world. Now we have a major title match set for a huge show, which was set up in advance this week. This week on AEW Dynamite, Maxwell Jacob Friedman teased cashing in his Casino ladder match poker chip for a World Title shot against Jon Moxley. However, Friedman changed his mind, saying that he wanted to cash in at Full Gear to do it the right way. The match is official for Full Gear, which airs on November 19. The two have met once before, with Moxley defeating Friedman to retain the World Title at All Out 2020. Opinion: I don’t think the match taking place is much of a surprise but it is nice to have it made official. We are still almost a month away from Full Gear and now the two can set up their match as well as they possib..

WATCH: WWE Teases Huge Money In The Bank Twist

October 19, 2022 • Admin

That would be a different way to go. There are a lot of different concepts that WWE presents on a regular basis, some of which have major championship implications. It can mean something big is taking place when one of them is mentioned and sometimes these things are announced in advance. Now we have gotten a big clue about something going in a different way. The closing segment of this week’s NXT featured a three way discussion between the competitors in the Halloween Havoc triple threat match for the NXT Title. At the end of the show, Mr. Money In The Bank Austin Theory, from Monday Night Raw, appeared and suggested that he could cash in his contract for the NXT Title. Theory has held the briefcase since July 2 when he won the Money In The Bank briefcase. This could make things interesting. Check out the big tease: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: In a way, this might be the best thing that could happen to Theory and his briefcase. It has been a long time since..

Very Important Update On Hangman Page’s Injury Status

October 19, 2022 • Admin

That’s a huge relief. There are all kinds of ways for a wrestler to suffer an injury and you never want to see anything like that happen. Someone can be in the middle of a match and be taken down in an instant, which unfortunately is what happened this week. It became a question of what would happen next and now we have a very important, and thankfully positive, update. This week on AEW Dynamite, Hangman Page was injured in a match against Jon Moxley. Page was hit with a clothesline and landed on his head, resulting in the match being instantly stopped, with Page being taken out on a stretcher. AEW has posted an update on Twitter, saying that Page was taken to a hospital where he was diagnosed with a concussion and discharged. There is no word on how long Page will be out of action. #Hangman @theAdamPage Medical Update pic.twitter.com/NAFnfzFhEL — All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) October 19, 2022 Opinion: The fact that Page was already discharged from the hospital, less than three hours ..

Hangman Adam Page Seriously Injured on AEW Dynamite

October 19, 2022 • Admin

You hate to see it. The main event of tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite featured Jon Moxley defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Hangman Adam Page. Unfortunately, the match had to be stopped due to a serious injury suffered by Page during the match. Page landed on his head after a spot in which he took a lariat from Moxley. As soon as Page hit the ground, his body seemed to go limp and he wasn’t able to move. The referee and ringside doctor, Doc Sampson made the decision to stop the match with about 10 minutes remaining on the show. During a commercial break, several officials took down the ropes in order to take out Page on a stretcher. You can see a clip of that below: They are literally taking the ropes down to take hangman Adam page out of the ring on a stretcher. #AEWDynamite pic.twitter.com/9hwcUQSAuK — Marshall Lloyd ? (@Dawgsfaninin) October 19, 2022 Several media outlets are reporting that this was not the planned finish for the match and that this is a le..

NXT Star Expected For Some Main Roster Appearances

October 18, 2022 • Admin

He’ll be around for a bit. There are a lot of talented stars on the WWE roster, to the point where the company has split them into three groups. While there are two main rosters, there is also the NXT developmental brand. It can be a huge moment when someone is promoted from NXT to the main roster. While that does not seem to be happening at the moment, someone is coming up for an extended visit. NXT’s Cameron Grimes made a surprise appearance this week on Monday Night Raw, as he convinced the OC to help him in his feud with the Schism. According to PWInsider.com, there is a chance that Grimes could be making more appearances on Monday Night Raw in the future. At the moment, there is nothing to suggest that Grimes has been called up to the main roster full time. Opinion: This is some good news as Grimes is one of the few stars in NXT who feels like he could be on the main roster today with no trouble. That is not something you get to see very often and it would be great to have him a..

REVIEW: Halloween Havoc 1999: The Zaniness Is Upon Us

October 18, 2022 • Admin

Halloween Havoc 1999 Date: October 24, 1999 Location: MGM Garden Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada Attendance: 8,464 Commentators: Bobby Heenan, Tony Schiavone The Russo Era is officially upon us as we got a big time preview this past Monday. However, this show is the real thing with Russo getting to direct where things go from here. Expect to see a lot more pointless talking, a lot more insanity and a lot more shouting about what I did to deserve this. Let’s get to it. The opening video focuses on Sid vs. Goldberg and mentions the whole “Goldberg can’t touch him” bit, which has basically been ignored. Hogan vs. Sting gets even less hype. A LOUD Weasel chant is ignored by Heenan as Tony announces that due to Rey Mysterio being injured, the Filthy Animals have been stripped of the Tag Team Titles. The solution? A triple threat hardcore title match for the belts with Kidman substituting for Mysterio. Well why bother having a match when you can just make it hardcore? They run down the rest of ..

Two WWE Legends Talk Helping Edge vs. The Judgment Day

October 18, 2022 • Admin

He has some options. There are different ways to present a feud, with one of the options being to have one wrestler vs. a group. It can make things complicated for the one who is on their own and the situation often involves finding someone else to help in the fight. That is the case again and now two legends are at least considering offering their assistance to their old friend or rival. Over the last several months, Edge has feuded with the Judgment Day. While Edge has had assistance against the team, he has been outnumbered on multiple occasions. Now two legends are talking about the story. First, during a live signing with K&S WrestleFest, Edge’s former Brood teammate Gangrel was asked if he would return to help Edge fight. Gangrel said “never say never, but creeping up there in age”. Second, during an appearance on the Extraaa Dhamaal show, WWE Hall of Famer D-Von Dudley said that Edge needed to face Finn Balor again, but with someone having his back. Dudley suggested that the D..

Sheamus Teases Bloodline vs. Brawling Brutes Feud

October 18, 2022 • Admin

That would be a different way to go. We are just over a month away from Survivor Series and this year’s edition is going to be a little bit different. This year, the show will feature a pair of WarGames matches, marking the first time that the match has come to a main roster WWE event. The matches need lineups, and now a star is teasing some major involvement in one of the matches. Last week’s SmackDown saw Sheamus, Rey Mysterio, Solo Sikoa and Ricochet compete in a match for the #1 contendership to the Intercontinental Title. During the match, the Usos got involved, which drew out the Brawling Brutes to help Sheamus. Following the match, Sheamus sent out a tweet saying “The end of the Bloodline starts with Solo. Ireland V Islanders.” While not confirmed, this could mean the start of a feud between the two groups. The end of the Bloodline starts with Solo. WATCH: Bayley Squares Off With Fan At WWE Live Event

October 18, 2022 • Admin

That’s some quality villainy. For the most part, wrestlers are divided into groups of babyfaces and heels. The heels are there to make fans angry at them and to get the fans cheering for the babyfaces to give them what they deserve. That can be accomplished in a variety of ways and now we saw one of the better methods this weekend at a non-televised events. A video has been released to Twitter showing a match between Bayley and Bianca Belair at a recent WWE live event in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The video includes Bayley arguing with a young fan at ringside multiple times, with the fan shouting that she wants Bayley to lose. Bayley would yell back at the fan multiple times, including once when Bayley was sitting down on the floor. Bayley went on to lose the match. This is pretty impressive. Check out Bayley vs. the fan: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: That is exactly what a villain is supposed to do, as Bayley had the fan wanting to see her get beaten up. It ta..

WWE Reportedly Impressed With Superstar’s Recent Work

October 18, 2022 • Admin

I’d say he has earned it. With so many people on the WWE roster, it can be difficult for anyone to stand out. It can take a lot of effort and work for a wrestler to become a next level star, but ultimately it takes a higher up being willing to give someone a chance. A wrestler getting noticed is a big deal and now another one has begun to turn some important heads. According to Fightful Select, Angelo Dawkins has been receiving positive reviews for his recent in-ring work. Dawkins has been praised for improving his physique, style and match quality. Dawkins has also been wrestling more singles matches as of late, as he has competed in more singles matches since June than he did from WrestleMania 37 until May 2022. It is expected that his singles matches will continue. Opinion: For a very long time now, the story has been that Dawkins’ partner Montez Ford is expected to be the breakout star from the Street Profits. While that very well still be the case, Dawkins has made some great st..

Matt Hardy Explains Vince McMahon’s Complicated Relationship With Bray Wyatt

October 18, 2022 • Admin

They have a unique relationship. There has never been anyone in wrestling as powerful or influential as Vince McMahon. During his time running WWE, McMahon was able to make or break anyone’s career in the blink of an eye, meaning a relationship with him was one of the most important things a wrestler could have. Now we are hearing about one of the stranger relationships that McMahon had with anyone. During a recent edition of his The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy talked about McMahon’s relationship with Bray Wyatt during Wyatt’s time in WWE. Hardy described the relationship as McMahon looking on Wyatt as a son at times. When Wyatt did something positive, McMahon would heap praise on him. When Wyatt did something McMahon didn’t like though, McMahon would punish and insult him. Wyatt returned to WWE at Extreme Rules, months after McMahon retired from WWE. Opinion: To say McMahon is a strange character is an understatement as you never knew what he was going to do at an..

WWE Hall Of Famer Returns On Monday Night Raw To Manage Current Star

October 18, 2022 • Admin

He can do some things. There have been a lot of stars throughout WWE’s history and some of them have become legends of the industry. You know these stars when you see them and it can mean something to see them show up again after a long absence. That was the situation again this week, as a legend showed up in a new role in an effort to build up a younger star. This week on Monday Night Raw, WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield made a surprise appearance, introducing Baron Corbin as the newest member of the Monday Night Raw roster. Corbin was sent to the show in exchange for Rey Mysterio, who jumped to SmackDown last week. This comes after Layfield picked Corbin up in his limo after a loss on SmackDown back in August. Corbin would go on to defeat Dolph Ziggler with Layfield on commentary. Opinion: This is the kind of move that works out well for everyone, as Layfield is someone the fans are going to recognize who can add credibility to Corbin. At the same time, Corbin has been so ..

Monday Night Raw Results – October 17, 2022

October 18, 2022 • Admin

Monday Night Raw Date: October 17, 2022 Location: Paycom Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Commentators: Corey Graves, Kevin Patrick We’re rapidly approaching Crown Jewel and WWE has the main event covered with Logan Paul challenging Roman Reigns. That leaves some spots open for the rest of the card, some of which needs to be filled in soon. Odds are we’ll get some of that soon and you can probably guess some of the matches from here. Let’s get to it. We open with Bobby Lashley in the ring mid-promo, where he calls out Brock Lesnar. Cue Lesnar and they get in a fight before Lesnar can even make it to the ring, with Lashley getting posted on the floor. Lashley slips out of another posting and sends Lesnar into it instead. A spear through the barricade draws out wrestlers and officials to break it up but Lashley gets away. This time it’s Lesnar going through the announcers’ table (on the second attempt) to leave him laying. OC vs. Alpha Academy AJ Styles is here with the OC. Anderson ta..

Huge Grudge Match Added To WWE Crown Jewel Card

October 18, 2022 • Admin

Three on each side. We are coming up on one of the biggest WWE shows of the year with November 5’s Crown Jewel. The show will be taking place in Saudi Arabia as part of WWE’s working relationship with the kingdom. The events often feature major stars in showdowns, some of which have been built up for white awhile. Now another match has been set up for the show, featuring quite a bit of star power. This week on Monday Night Raw, a six man tag was announced for Crown Jewel, featuring AJ Styles and the OC against Judgment Day. The feud started last week when the OC returned to help Styles fight against Judgment Day after several weeks. As a result, Judgment Day issued the challenge, with Styles accepting for the team. The match is the second announced for the card, following Logan Paul challenging Roman Reigns for the WWE Undisputed Universal Title. Opinion: You almost had to know that this match was coming sooner or later so it makes sense to put it on the biggest upcoming show WWE has..

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Making Changes To Several Premium Live Events

October 18, 2022 • Admin

That would be different. WWE runs regular monthly premium live events as the focal point of their in-ring action. This includes several shows that the company has run for years if not decades, many of which are among the best known shows in wrestling. The company presents several shows that involve some kind of a special theme, but that might be changing going forward. According to Bryan Alvarez’s Super Fans Twitter account, by way of Wrestlingnews.co, WWE is planning to make a change to its premium live events starting in 2023. This would include more international events and fewer gimmick based events, such as Hell In A Cell or Tables Ladders And Chairs, for example. There is no word on what kind of shows would replace the originals. This comes after news broke that WWE was canceling it’s Day One event. Per Bryan Alvarez, WWE will make major changes to PPV/PLE events in 2023. Likely more international shows, less gimmick shows. — Wrestling News (@WrestlingNewsCo) October 16, 2022 ..

Former WWE Star Set For Official Retirement Match

October 17, 2022 • Admin

You have to hang it up eventually. Retirement is a weird concept for a lot of wrestlers as several of them have issues with leaving wrestling. Many of them have often stick around longer than expected as they can keep coming back for one more match here or there. Eventually everyone has to hang up the boots though and that is going to be the case with another former WWE star. According to Fightful, Mike Bucci, formerly known as Nova or Simon Dean in WWE, will be wrestling his final match on December 3. Bucci, 50 years old, will team with Aron Stevens (formerly known as Damien Sandow) and another partner to be named against Matt Cardona, Brian Myers and another partner to be named at Stand Alone Wrestling’s Contest Of Champions in in Tom’s River, New Jersey. Bucci began wrestling in 1992 and made his name in ECW as part of the Blue World Order. He has also wrestled in WWE and around the independent circuit. Opinion: This is one of those things that you know has to happen at some point..

WWE Extends Offer To 34 Year Old Former Champion To Return

October 17, 2022 • Admin

He would be a big get. There are a lot of changes throughout WWE in recent months and several of those have involved wrestlers returning to the company. All kinds of stars are returning to WWE and it has made for several surprise appearances. It can mean a lot to have someone come back, and now WWE is attempting to bring back someone who showed a lot of potential. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has made “offers” to Jonah, formerly known as Bronson Reed in NXT, to return to the company. This comes a few weeks after rumors that WWE was interested in bringing him back. There is no word on if Jonah is interested in making a return. Jonah, 34 years old, wrestled in NXT from 2019-2021 before being released as part of massive budget cuts. He is a former NXT North American Champion and has wrestled for New Japan and Impact Wrestling since leaving WWE. Opinion: I could certainly go for something like this as Jonah is someone who felt like he could have become one of the t..

Melina Explains How WWE Would Punish Its Women’s Wrestlers

October 17, 2022 • Admin

That’s a little harsh. The world of women’s wrestling in WWE has come a very long way in the last few years and that has been a very good thing. Women’s wrestling had long been treated as a sideshow and rarely something to be taken seriously. Now though, women in WWE have become among the top stars in the promotion. However, things were not always that way and now we know just how bad things got. In a new interview with Wrestling Purists, former WWE star Melina spoke about how women were punished in WWE in previous eras. Melina said that after women would do something extraordinary, they be punished with absurd matches, such as swimsuit matches or lingerie matches. This would be done in an effort to see how the women would react, with Melina eventually trying to turn it into a game to see just how far the company would take it with them. Opinion: This is one of those things that feels almost impossible to imagine but it wasn’t all that long ago. Women’s wrestling was little more than..
