Rumor: Signs That Brock Lesnar, Dean Ambrose And Ronda Rousey Are Leaving WWE (Photo)

March 14, 2019 • Admin

It’s never too early to start making assumptions. The contract situations in WWE are always an interesting discussion with WrestleMania season being a more energetic time than most. That’s the case again at the moment with the status of several names being discussed. While it’s a long way off, this year’s Summerslam is a big show and something has been released that suggests who might still be around. New Summerslam promotional material released locally in Toronto, Canada by way of Ringsidenews.com shows several names from both brands, but a few big names are missing. Ronda Rousey, Dean Ambrose and Brock Lesnar are all absent from the images, which feature thirty six names. These three are all rumored to be leaving WWE soon, though these images are preliminary, meaning changes could be made before the show. Lesnar certainly has a history at Summerslam. Check out what he did last year: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I’m not sure how much stock I put into this, ..

Full 3/13 NXT Taping Results *SPOILERS* Takeover: New York Card Set.

March 14, 2019 • Admin

And off to New York we go. We’re coming up on NXT Takeover: New York but there’s still a little bit of work left to do. You can probably guess what most of the card is going to look like, but with NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa injured, we need a new NXT Champion. That would be taken care of on Wednesday night as things had to be wrapped up for next month’s big show. NXT was back at Full Sail University on Wednesday night to tape the final episodes of television before Takeover: New York. These three shows will air over the next three weeks, though there is a chance that these shows will air out of order. The tapings include the announcement of what will be happening with the NXT Title, which had to be vacated due to Ciampa’s injury. Here are the results, courtesy of Wrestlinginc.com: Episode 1: * Triple H opened tonight’s WWE NXT TV tapings from Full Sail University and came out to a huge pop. He announced that he was originally going to announce Johnny Gargano vs. NXT Champion Tommaso..

Update On Dolph Ziggler’s Contract Status. Is He Still With WWE?

March 14, 2019 • Admin

So maybe? Right now, it’s not entirely clear what is going on with WWE contracts. Several wrestlers seem to be trying to get in or out of the company with AEW or elsewhere seeming to be a possibility. It’s hard to tell who might be sticking around and you never can quite tell who might be leaving as the contract statues seem to be up in the air. One of these situations is now even more confusing. Dolph Ziggler was interviewed on 98.5 Wrestling Inside The Ropes radio show and discussed his current contract status with WWE. Ziggler said that he was technically still under contract with the company but it was more of a handshake agreement that allows him to do other things outside of the company. This has been the case for about two years now. Ziggler’s last appearance with the company was the Royal Rumble back in January. Some things have gone better for Ziggler than others. Check out this rather painful moment from last year: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: The n..

Rumor Killer On Eminem Appearing On SmackDown Live

March 13, 2019 • Admin

So much for that. WrestleMania and the season building up to it have a long history of celebrities appearing. All the way back to the original show in 1985, there have been all kinds of celebrities, both A list and lower, who get involved with WWE to start hyping the show. It seems to be the case again this year with some Saturday Night Live cast members getting involved, but one name doesn’t seem to be likely. Rumors had been circulating that Eminem would be appearing on WWE TV due to a deal made to have Eminem produce the soundtrack for the upcoming WWE2K20 video game. However, it appears that this is not true and the idea has only been discussed with little progress being made at the moment. There is a possibility of an appearance taking place in the future, but it seems to be a long way off. Eminem’s team has put out a statement denying the reports, courtesy of Ringsidenews.com: There was a very brief, exploratory conversation that involved a third party and 2K Sports, not Eminem..

WWE to Have New Host for Hall of Fame This Year

March 10, 2019 • Admin

The WWE Hall of Fame is one of the most memorable moments of the year. Every year sees the company induct several pivotal figures in the company’s history into the prestigious hall. During the latest episode of Jerry “The King” Lawler’s Dinner With The King podcast, he noted that he would no longer be hosting the WWE Hall of Fame as he has done over the past few years. [This post contains video, click to play] With Lawler no longer hosting the WWE Hall of Fame, it begs the question of who will take his place. Lawler has held the position for a long time, and there are no clear candidates to replace him. WIth Jim Ross leaving WWE, it doesn’t look like he could host. He is supposedly AEW bound, anyway. According to a new report by Rajah, a source has told them that RAW commentators Renee Young and Corey Graves are being considered as the replacements. This would mean the two would co-host the WWE Hall of Fame together, or both take sections of the show each. With one of the two RAW..

Roman Reigns’ Reaction to WWE Using His Leukemia in Storylines

March 10, 2019 • Admin

When then-WWE Universal Champion Reigns announced he would be stepping away from the ring as his leukemia had returned, it shocked wrestling fans around the world. Later that same night, things took a turn. During the same night, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins defeated Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre to capture the RAW Tag Team Championship. Given the news of Reigns’ departure was heavy in the hearts of the audience, and those watching around the world, it was very much a feelgood moment. [This post contains video, click to play] With the whole world watching, Ambrose turned his back on Rollins, Reigns- and the WWE Universe as he viciously attacked his long-time friend and left him and the WWE Universe in a mess, as both he and WWE themselves were booed heavily. In an interview with Yahoo Sports, Reigns gave an insight into how he reacted to WWE’s decision to have Ambrose turn heel on the night of a very real and serious announcement. Reigns noted that he has conflicting emotions ..

Bully Ray Gets Involved in Feud Between Usos & Hardy Boyz

March 10, 2019 • Admin

Bully Ray is currently employed by ROH. Despite this, the wrestler is in the WWE Hall of Fame alongside D-Von Dudley. For this reason, it came as a surprise to many when he joined in on the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship conversation on social media. The feud on social media initially kicked off with a video-tweet by Matt Hardy. He tweeted that he and brother Jeff were watching McMiz and The Usos as they were ringside for SmackDown Live last week. Hey @WWEUsos, @mikethemiz & @shanemcmahon.. WE’RE WATCHING. #SDLive pic.twitter.com/JcPPXyqwo8 — The MULTIFARIOUS Matt Hardy (@MATTHARDYBRAND) March 6, 2019 Ray wouldn’t enter yet. However, Hardy’s tweet would prompt The Usos to respond. The Champions would welcome the two Hardy Boyz and note that they haven’t been “locked down” into the Uso Penitentiary yet. THE ONE TEAM WHO HAS NOT BEEN LOCKEDDOWN……”WELCOME” https://t.co/zuUzcbU66s — The Usos (@WWEUsos) March 7, 2019 Hardy would, of course, not back down. Mentioning Ray among se..

Rumor: WWE to Replace Member of RAW Commentary Team

March 10, 2019 • Admin

The commentary provides an interesting perspective on the action as fans watch wrestling. It is through this commentary that many fans gain an understanding of certain feuds and storylines. Over the past few decades, a number of men and women across the world have made a name for themselves. Working commentary isn’t easy- but it is something many have done well. According to a new report by Rajah, WWE is considering an alteration to their commentary team on RAW. From what we now understand, it appears that, according to the report, Renee Young may be removed from the team. WWE officials have had discussions on Young and her position alongside Michael Cole and Corey Graves on the team. There is certainly no confirmation, as it stands, for Young to be removed, replaced, or change roles- but that isn’t possible for WWE to change it up at any point. [This post contains video, click to play] Young famously broke boundaries with her role as a commentator on RAW. Not only was Young the ..

Injured Former Champion Returns To Action On Saturday

March 10, 2019 • Admin

Welcome home. There’s something very cool when a wrestler returns from an injury. You get to see them for the first time after what could be a long or short layoff and the question becomes how fast they can get back to where they were before. Or perhaps they’re even better this time around. Either way, it’s a fun thing to see and it was on display Saturday night. According to PWInsider.com by way of 411mania.com, Luke Harper returned to the ring from an injury in his hometown of Rochester, New York on Saturday night, defeating Mojo Rawley. This is Harper’s first match since October 1 due to wrist surgery that has caused him to miss several months. There is no word on when Harper may return to television or which show it may be on. Maybe a reunion is in order. Check out Harper’s time as a Bludgeon Brother: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: It’s nice to have Harper back, though with Rowan working with Daniel Bryan, I’m not sure what it’s going to mean. Maybe he can ..

Fastlane 2019 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

March 10, 2019 • Admin

So here we are, with the show that has been treated as an afterthought to an afterthought and is now just being treated like a nothing show. There are a few things on the show that could be interesting, but WWE has been acting like Fastlane, as in the show they’re putting on, is just a nuisance that they’re required to cover. Just watch Raw and see how much effort they’ve put into it as compared to promoting Wrestlemania. Hopefully things pick up a little bit and the show winds up being fun. Let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade Well if you insists. This has been a great feud so far and one of the best things on SmackDown this year. These guys mesh very well together and this one can serve as the rubber match after their previous big blowoff officially went to a no contest because WWE doesn’t know the definition of a no contest. I’ll take Andrade to win here as he needs to be elevated a little bit more. Mysterio is already a legend and has been for about ten years n..

March 10, 2019 • Admin

Main Event Results – March 7, 2019

March 10, 2019 • Admin

Main Event Date: March 7, 2019 Location: Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Commentators: Byron Saxton, Renee Young, Percy Watson Things started happening in a hurry last week as WWE suddenly remembered that they needed to set up Fastlane outside of the big matches. That made for some eventful stuff this week and hopefully that translates to this show as well. I’m not sure if I should believe that to be the case or not, but you have to have hope. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Apollo Crews vs. EC3 Rematch from last week. EC3 takes him down with a quickly broken headlock as Crews fights up with a dropkick and armdrag. Crews gets stomped down in the corner for a bit and we hit the reverse chinlock. A clothesline cuts off Crews’ comeback but Crews gets in one of his own. That’s enough to head up top, only to get crotched back down. The 1%er finishes Crews at 5:25. Result: EC3 b. Apollo Crews – 1%er (5:25) From Raw. Here’s Roman Reigns to open things up to another sol..

Rumor: Could FOX Be Ending The WWE’s PG Era?

March 9, 2019 • Admin

Now this could be interesting. As you probably know, SmackDown Live is moving to the FOX Network later this year, giving WWE their biggest platform for television in decades, if not ever. It means that things could be changing in a hurry, and it’s not clear just how much those changes are going to mean. If FOX has its say though, it could mean one of the biggest changes of all. According to Rajah.com, FOX may be looking for WWE to stop being as politically correct and moving towards an edgier product. While no specifics are being given, it seems that FOX wants things to be a bit more adult, which could include a variety of things that are closer to the Attitude Era than the current PG style. WWE set themselves up as a PG promotion, meaning the only thing that would need to be done to change things is a self imposed change. It could be an interesting mixture of both eras. Check out this very cool SmackDown Live Attitude Era intro with modern stars: [This post contains video, click to..

Roman Reigns Explains Why Women Should Main Event WrestleMania 35

March 9, 2019 • Admin

Former WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns was recently interviewed by Sky Sports. This followed the WrestleMania 36 press conference earlier this week. During the interview, Reigns discussed why he believes the women deserve to close WrestleMania 35 this year. Seth Rollins defeated 29 other men in the Royal Rumble men’s match to earn the right to face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania. This has led a number of fans to predict and hope that those two performers close out the show. It seems more possible now, more than ever, that women could close out the show. Becky Lynch faces Charlotte Flair this weekend at Fastlane- and a victory there, as predicted by most fans, would result in a triple threat between those two performers and RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey for the Championship. For more information on that, check out the very short WWE Now clip below: [This post contains video, click to play] In his interview with Sky Sports, Reigns noted that..

This Is Amazing. Thirty Year Old Never Before Seen WCW Nintendo Game Discovered

March 9, 2019 • Admin

It’s not exactly 2K. Wrestling and video games go hand in hand like mittens in mittens. Fans are going to want to play a game as their favorite wrestlers that they see on TV and that makes for a long list of combinations. Today’s games have more details than you could ever possibly complete but that wasn’t always the case. As it turns out, there’s a brand new way to see what wrestling games used to be like. According to a new article on WWE.com, YouTuber Archon1981 recently purchased a review copy of an unreleased WCW video game for the original Nintendo Entertainment System, dated from 1989. The game is titled UWC, which likely means Universal Wrestling Corporation, which served as the original name for World Championship Wrestling when Ted Turner bought the company in 1987. Some names included were the Road Warriors, Sting, Ric Flair, Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane. Like any video game, there is a way to see the game. Check out some game play footage: [This post contains video, click t..

RAW’s No Way Jose Is Changing Up His Look

March 9, 2019 • Admin

The rosters on RAW and SmackDown Live are undoubtedly more packed and full with incredible talent than ever before. This includes 2018 NXT call-up No Way Jose. Jose was called up during the post-WrestleMania edition of RAW. Defeating John Skyler in his debut, Jose quickly educated the audience on what he is about. Sadly, Jose was soon relegated to the bottom of the card. In the video we’ve included below, Jose takes on Skyler in his debut match back on April 9, 2018: [This post contains video, click to play] Taking to his Twitter account, Jose shared a picture of himself. The photo shows him with a very different hairstyle- something that would likely cause him to get noticed. The WWE Universe, in fact, are taking notice of this on social media. His hair is braided and partially colored a neon green and light yellow, with a mixture of black throughout.
